Population of file tree

Hello world

I write the code for the user interface of a test system and I reach the project and test data in files that is already created at the beginning of the program.

So I have a reason such as the folders with names of project and test the files into it with the corresponding command.

for example

Project1

Test1

Test2

Project2

Test1

Test2

The problem is that I can't find a way to fill a tree with this order by program, by taking the names of folders, files, etc...

Thank you

-If the records are already existing and that you just need to fill out and view, see this example:

Displays the hierarchy of directories with the tree control

-If you have to create the folders then there is an example file directory tree control

  • Can someone advise me on AVG Secure startup and file tree bloat remains removal search suggestions?

    Recently, I used the solution to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/927950?page=2#answer-364990 by KerriB. It worked. However, I still found traces of the bloatware in two other places. Not sure if I should remove them or not. Suggestions? I've included pictures of the locations (slightly rewritten for security reasons).

    We're in my startup programs. Access: Mouseover an open space on your desktop. Press the Windows key and the R key at the same time. A dialog box appears. Type msconfig. Click the Startup tab. It lists all the programs that start at startup. As you can see, ask VProtect and ROC_roc_ssl_v12 are listed as unknown manufacturer, but in the file tree, they are in C:\Program AVG safe search.

    The other location is accessible via start, then choosing computer, drive Local (c) (your local drive can be a different letter, obviously), Program Files. As you can see, there are a whole folder FILLED with elements of AVG safe Search.

    I have a support ticket open with AVG on this issue, but it is the weekend, I can not hear back for a few days. I'll let everyone know what they advise when back from them, I hear.

    UPDATE:

    I complained to AVG, and they offered me a free license for their 2012 AVG Premium paid... Security edition o.O... anyway, I wrote them back asking about the remains above and they responded by sending me a download of a special uninstall program (you have to install - go irony!). I have included a picture of this email (3).

    After running the uninstall program, I ran a cleaning of the system, and a deep cleaning run Advanced Systemcare (my favorite Cleanup utility), did a restart, then did a search for 'AVG '.

    As you can see (picture 4), I * STILL * had a folder filled with AVG, accessible by clicking on start, computer, C:\.

    I've done a shred secure deletion (again, and Advanced Systemcare tool, but simply to delete probably would be nice) this folder of AVG. Yet once, I ran a cleaning system, and a deep cleaning run Advanced Systemcare (my favorite Cleanup utility), did a restart, then did a search for 'AVG '. This time, nothing came. Great! right? No. I wanted to be * SURE * it was ALL gone, so I opened Windows Defender (the included firewall that comes with Windows 7), expanded the menu on the drives to be analyzed and down-and-this is, look, you know, a $AVG (image 5) HIDDEN folder!

    Now, I have to show all hidden folders to find. Which is done by clicking on start, control panel (change display by: small icons), Options records, (popup window), display tab, then check the selection dot next to "Show hidden files, folders and drives", apply, OK (see image 6 for description). Now go back to start, computer, C:\, and it should show the hidden $AVG folder. If that does not show it, you can also do a search and delete the search results folder. Yet ONCE, I ran a cleaning system, and a deep cleaning run Advanced Systemcare (my favorite Cleanup utility), did a restart, then did a search for 'AVG '.

    I feel now that I am completely free of AVG. I hope this helps you get rid of it too!

  • That Windows Explorer open with its extended file tree.

    Is buried the record I work with several layers to the bottom of the tree (Documents > My Documents and so on).  I go immediately by putting the folder in Favorites, but which expand the file tree itself.  Is there a default setting that would make the Windows Explorer opened with its file tree developed to the level that I specify - either the level displayed when I close the program?

    Thank you very much

    Craig

    Hi Craig,.

    What your request is what I get on my machine.  So, I sailed to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32, click Favorites on the left side, click right and choose "Add current location to Favorites".

    What it gave me was SYSTEM32 in my list of favorites, and when I click it it only opens the right pane to this place.

    OK, so for your problem, it doesn't not self-expanding.  You can change this quite easily in the Folder Options.  Open something like the computer, click the arrow next to organize, choose folder and Search Options.  On the general tab, you will see under the Navigation pane option to turn on the self-expanding.  You won't achieve what you want.

    Let me know how you go.

    Kind regards

    Hello

    I just reinstalled Windows 7 and installed my software (especially "Adobe elements Organizer V12").

    I then did a restore of my catalog from external backup.

    This restoration is successful, but an owner problem.

    Indeed my photos are now each into separate folders and I don't have the original tree of my files.

    For example, I had before a "Birthdays" folder with subfolders "2013", etc. "2014".

    Generally, if you are satisfied with the last conversion to version 12, it is not useful to keep the old formats. Especially if you do not continue to use the older versions 10. Anyway, you can't retro - convert from the 12 version to version 10, and it is very difficult to maintain synchronization between two versions of a catalog.

    Possible exceptions:

    -Some features have disappeared from recent versions, and you want to be able to use either the Publisher 10 or 12. You notice so the editor 10.

    -l' Organizer to undergone deep changes since version 10, especially on new tabs of categories: people, places and events. If like me you don't want to accept the new format, view catalogues version 10. You can avoid the automatic conversion of these categories.

    -version 13 Windows is 64-bit, and you can keep the previous catalogues pour not to lose some plug-ins and eventually be able to share catalogues version 12 or earlier on other computers

    -new slideshow editor has lost beaucoup features. Version of the 12 conservation and its catalogs can be a good solution.

    Pour the Photoshop file, no problem. You can rename it from the Organizer.

    The ProgramData file should be deleted, or at least renamed pour avoid ambiguity with the true on C:

  • Research within a tree of files for a string in a file

    Okay, I give up...

    I'm trying to search for a particular string like "xyz" in a bunch of files in various places in a tree *.txt - all folders and files in that I want to search are rooted in a particular folder.

    It used to be that Windows Explorer has a "Find files and folders" feature that had a "Search subfolders" box was just very well worked and intuitive.

    However, with the new improved search facility, I can't it to search for a string in a file tree. And assistance does not help.

    I even went in search, typed in "*.txt" for the name, and the search string, I get "name of xyz: * .txt" and the string is not found, even though I know that it is located in at least one of the files in the file tree under 'place' which is like C:\apk

    Could point me to it someone please to a description of how to do this, or maybe a pointer quick as to what I'm doing wrong?
    Thank you!

    Hello Paul,

    The syntax for Windows Search is now quite different.  On the one hand, the jokers work differently and are rarely needed for common searches.  Try instead to use the ext property:

    XYZ ext:txt

    However, remember that Windows Search is now based on word, not on the character.  When you search the contents of the file, if the string "xyz" is in the middle of a Word, it can not be found unless it is preceded by a space, an uppercase letter or a punctuation character.  Thus, you may need to perform a search on part of the word preceding the string "xyz".

    There is good information on the new syntax of search here:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/products/winfamily/desktopsearch/TechnicalResources/advquery.mspx

    Regarding the search for subfolders by default on Vista, the option is set in the search window "Folder Options" tab dialog.

    Some other tips:

    Remember that the parent folder is set to be indexed in the Indexing Options dialog boxes.

    Be aware that the type of search you do is preferable to Windows Explorer or the main search box, not in the start menu.  The latter has its options, which are often more restrictive than other methods.

  • When the files of ingestion, prelude does not see an entire tree.

    When the files of ingestion, prelude is not going deep enough into my directory tree.

    It seems to stop at the 5th level of the root. I have structures down 8 levels on some directories.

    First Pro sees OK because it uses the Windows Explorer interface, while the prelude has its own file tree interface.

    I have set up a situation of test, and Prelude didn't hurt to follow along the line... eight files down, was always fine...

    The only thing you could check... notice the "consider as ' box top-right? That should be "list of files" to continue. In file earlier, I got a clip CinemaDNG, and he wanted to change to "As DNG" here. And would not go further down in the directory as this file until I changed the setting for this folder. It is because for a number of file formats off camera, regarding the CinemaDNG and some of the Arri, RED and other formats, the images are more than one type DPX where each image is a separate file, as written on the disc, so a file is actually a logged clip. So, "show you" prelude where the image folders, and she knows to show those clips, not as a bunch of still images.

    Then you have some of these formats as shown on this "as:" in the drop-down list in these records? If so, there is your problem. You may need to change your storage scheme.

  • Catalogue again pass PC but moved with the tree files metadata and tag

    I'll start at the beginning. Years ago I had PS elements 4 original and upgraded to PSE11 on the same computer and no problem. . at some point, we moved the files from a PC to a new PC. We knew on the displacement of PES in the catalogue and transfer of files. I guess I have relabelled and organized all the photos and was happy for years.

    Last month my husband used the utility PC mover 'link turn' PES 11 to a new PC by moving all the files. I then found the problem, because all my photos had no information and no tag and no tree tag on the screen.  As a precaution, I saved the metadata to all media and created a tree of xml on the old PC before tags it back up again. We were going to do the process of back-up/restore to the new PC, but when my husband was struggling to install Adobe PES 11 on the new PC he transferred somehow all my photos (12,000) and there they were with labels and information and all organized under their respective keywords.

    The problem is PSE11 created a new file (Bethpictures) with all the photos inside.

    Now it seems that we SO 3 separate files with these same pictures 12 000 each. I see all these folders on the left side of the page of the Organizer.

    (1) the original file from Windows

    (2) the old file from PC-bethalbums

    (3) new file of PC-bethpictures

    and XML file - tree of the tag

    so is it possible to remove redundancies and the tag tree file without any screwing or should I delete it all and make the catalog upward and restoration of the process. Can we put the Bethpicture file under bethalbums and remove duplicates? Or get rid of bethalbums (from old PC) and only has Beth photos (new files created by PSE)? Can I delete this file tree of xml tag or ultimately the removal of the tree of the tag on my page of Organizer PSE?

    Should I back up catalog now on the new PC? And then when I get a new PC in the future I can use the backup/restore process or one should always save metadata to file?

    OR should I leave him alone?

    If I take a chance - I have the following questions about the process in two steps:

    Is there a video for me to watch on how to do this?

    some issues are still confused.

    1. on the new should PC-before you begin the process I install PES 11?

    1 a - should there be pictures on the new Windows PC at all? Or get everything restored with AdobePSE11?

    2 - when the backup catalog on CD it will prompt me when another CD is required to be inserted if several CD is necessary?

    Catalogue food 3 when to new PC is there an order to put in the CD?

    Sorry for the delay in responding to...

    You have layoffs after several restorations.

    Before you delete it, you should check which of these 'restorations' are the best.

    Each restoration produced a copy of your image tree and a catalog folder.

    When you open the organizer with one of the catalogues referring to these various restorations, you can consult:

    -where the pictures are stored (in the information on the right panel)

    -where the catalog folder is stored: Help menu > system information.

    If you are satisfied with a given restore session, at the locations above should not be deleted, the others can be deleted completely from the Explorer or Finder.

    Your catalog is probably not in the default location on C:, it may be in a different location. You can use Catalog Manager to move the catalog to the location by default if it is not already there.

    Should I back up catalog now on the new PC? And then when I get a new PC in the future I can use the backup/restore process or one should always save metadata to file?

    OR should I leave him alone?

    It would be a good thing. Registration of metadata to the files is a good and redundant way to be sure, but a healthy backup is sufficient.

    1. on the new should PC-before you begin the process I install PES 11?

    Yes

    1 a - should there be pictures on the new Windows PC at all? Or get everything restored with AdobePSE11?

    No, everything is restored, firstly the photo files, then the catalog. If so, you will need to convert a catalog from an older version;

  • Had to install my itunes library/all media files to a new disk - now itunes can't find anything!

    Hello, people.

    I have an itunes library old and beloved of some 38 000 songs and 1 100 podcasts, as well as dozens and dozens of playlists (I buy a lot of music and RIP, so every month for the past eight years, I made a playlist folder containing the songs I ripped this month). My media is not organised by itunes - everything is in its own folder.

    However, I have fried my CPU and motherboard, and the guy at the shop convinced me to switch to an SSD HD to run windows. That's nice, but there is not enough room for the itunes library. It is still on my old HD 2 TB - that used to be C:, but now it's f:

    I was able to get the library loaded to the top, but he has no idea where all the songs are. They used to all be in a file tree that went C:\users\Querenciazine\music\[subfolder], as follows:

    c:/users/Querenciazine/music/MP3s/classical/BWV%20651-668%20-%20leipziger%20chor %C3%A4le/bwv%20659%20-%2002-bach&busoni%20_%20nun%20komm,%20der%20heiden%20h eiland.mp3

    But now they are all in a tree that starts f:/music/MP3s.

    Location of the file above, therefore:

    f:/music/MP3s/classical/BWV%20651-668%20-%20leipziger%20chor%C3%A4le/BWV%20659%2 0-%2002-bach&busoni%20_%20nun%20komm,%20der%20heiden%20heiland.mp3

    I tried to open the two XML files in Notepad and use find and replace to change "c:/users/Querenciazine / ' to ' f: / ' in filepaths all, but that has not worked. I did it once before, but years ago and I wonder: what am I doing wrong, or that I am I forgetting?

    Anyone has any advice how to solve a problem like this?

  • Cross and copy files to the new structure

    Hello people!

    I had a huge task I'd like to simplify with a bit of Applescript.

    Basically, I would like to move or copy a lot of files in a new folder structure.

    I have a few different folders with all 500-4000 jpg, see image below.

    First picture shows the old structure, 2nd picture show the new structure I would accomplish.

    I want to do is have a script to loop through and take the first 4 characters of the file name and create a folder with that name in the location of my choice.

    Then, create a new folder in the parent called JPEG folder and copy all of the files with the same name specific to this folder.

    So far, I've been able to automate the creation of folders and subfolders.

    any help is appreciated

    loc to choose a folder "choose the Parent folder location."

    Repeat with I from 1 to 3

    the value d to text - via -1 of 2 ("51" & I as text)

    Try

    tell application "Finder" to set targetFolder to create a new folder in loc with properties {name: "61" & j}

    tell application "Finder" to create a new folder to targetFolder with properties {name: "JPEG"}

    tell application "Finder" to create a new folder to targetFolder with properties {name: "PSD"}

         end try

    end Repeat

    Hello

    You could try the AppleScript script which is a simple bash script wrapper.

    It will allow you to choose the source directories and destination and then analyze the source for jpeg files tree and copy the jpeg file with name starting with excatly 4 digits IJKL to the correspondent-I000/IJKL directory in the destination. In the destination path directories are created as it should. For example, your screenshots, you can choose the folder '7000-8000' or its parent directory in the source directory and the "OBJECTS" folder as the destination directory.

    Any jpeg file which doesn't have a name starting with exactly 4 digits is ignored. Verbose output of the CP (1) and any errors will appear in the result pane / window (Apple Apple) Script Editor.

    --APPLESCRIPT
    set src to (choose folder with prompt "Choose source folder where source tree is rooted at")'s POSIX path
    set dst to (choose folder with prompt "Choose destination folder where destination tree is rooted at")'s POSIX path
    if dst starts with src then error "Source tree may not contain destination." number 8000
    set args to ""
    repeat with a in {src, dst}
        set args to args & a's quoted form & space
    end repeat

    do shell script "/bin/bash -s <<'EOF' - " & args & "

    export LC_CTYPE=UTF-8
    while IFS= read -r -d $'\\0' f

        n=${f##*/}
        [[ $n =~ ^(([0-9])[0-9]{3})[^0-9] ]] || continue
        p=${BASH_REMATCH[1]}
        q=${BASH_REMATCH[2]}

        jpg=${DST}/-${q}000/${p}/JPEG
        psd=${DST}/-${q}000/${p}/PSD
        [[ -d $jpg ]] || mkdir -p \"$jpg\" || continue
        [[ -d $psd ]] || mkdir -p \"$psd\" || continue

        cp -v -pPR \"$f\" \"$jpg\"
    done < <(find \"$SRC\" -type f -iname '*.jpg' -print0)
    } 2>&1
    exit 0
    EOF"
    --END OF APPLESCRIPT

    Briefly tested under OS X 10.6.8 but no guarantee of any kind. Please make sure that you have a full backup of the original directories before running this kind of script.

  • How can I delete a file in use by demon updater?

    How can I delete a file that says it's in use by Daemon updater.exe?

    I have a computer with a hard drive of GB 914, who recently said that it is impossible to install a program because the disk is full. While they inspected, I found that it only reported about 200 GB of usage and after you remove files non-essential, I released 57 GB of disk space.

    I made sure to show all files and installed a file tree Locator and found a log of 684 GB file but when I tried to remove it, it said that the file was not in the specified location. Then I manually found the file in system32 tree and he said that it is impossible to delete the file because it is used by daemonupdater.exe.
