Organizing items - folders after restore tree loss / Lost files after restoring files tree

Hello

I just reinstalled Windows 7 and installed my software (especially "Adobe elements Organizer V12").

I then did a restore of my catalog from external backup.

This restoration is successful, but an owner problem.

Indeed my photos are now each into separate folders and I don't have the original tree of my files.

For example, I had before a "Birthdays" folder with subfolders "2013", etc. "2014".

Now I have the folders '2013', '2014' but I have more Microsoft Group folder in the "Birthday" parent.

In view of the number of relevant photos, I would like to find the LUN tree promotion documents.

Generally, if you are satisfied with the last conversion to version 12, it is not useful to keep the old formats. Especially if you do not continue to use the older versions 10. Anyway, you can't retro - convert from the 12 version to version 10, and it is very difficult to maintain synchronization between two versions of a catalog.

Possible exceptions:

-Some features have disappeared from recent versions, and you want to be able to use either the Publisher 10 or 12. You notice so the editor 10.

-l' Organizer to undergone deep changes since version 10, especially on new tabs of categories: people, places and events. If like me you don't want to accept the new format, view catalogues version 10. You can avoid the automatic conversion of these categories.

-version 13 Windows is 64-bit, and you can keep the previous catalogues pour not to lose some plug-ins and eventually be able to share catalogues version 12 or earlier on other computers

-new slideshow editor has lost beaucoup features. Version of the 12 conservation and its catalogs can be a good solution.

Pour the Photoshop file, no problem. You can rename it from the Organizer.

The ProgramData file should be deleted, or at least renamed pour avoid ambiguity with the true on C:

  • After running PC Refresh on Windows 8 lost files

    * Original title: critical lost files after update PC on Windows 8 - not in the Windows.old folder, so what is the best way to get back them?

Initially, I had a problem whenever my phone wanted to do an update. It takes 30 minutes for the update and then I would get an error saying updates could not be performed changes recovery. I called the helpline PC came with my computer. After a few here to get the update to work, they told me that they will have to perform a PC Refresh. I was told that I would not lose any of my personal files, photos, docs, etc... I did it. At first, it seemed everything was ok except when I went to access some files that belong to a photo software I use.

I knew that my software 'Panstoria' would have been lost, but I wasn't expecting the files I have access through it to lose. When I reloaded Panstoria I couldn't find the files I acceding known for 'My leap' software, which file name is manifest.vaultx. This software allows me to label photos, file in categories, journal etc. Again, I didn't know all this has been a problem because the software States very clearly that all of your photos and other are not saved in the software but rather your documents... then I thought about updating PC would be ok... turns out NOT. I can't find "repository"My"in the documents. I have even returned to the folder Windows.old and they cannot find.

My questions are these: what is the best way to try to recover the files? If I do a system restore which will bring back all the documents as they were before the update? A system restore would return all users that may have been changed as well?  I'm just sick to my stomach that I can't find the file because it is the last 20 years of pictures and videos of my family and if I can't get these back I lost all my memories :-(

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

According to the description of the problem, I understand that, after the system update, you've lost critical files.

I imagine how it could be frustrating when losing essential data from the computer.

To better understand this issue, I would like to know the following information:

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer?
2 do you have him comes preinstalled with Windows 8 computer or you have upgraded the Windows 8 of the older operating system such as Windows 7?
    3. you receive an error message when you try to access these files from the Panstoria software?
    4. where these files saved locally on the computer, as well as my safe?
5 did you cooling system or the system restore?

First of all, I would like to inform you that if you this execution of a cooling system, would not create a Windows.old folder.

The applications provided with your PC and applications that you have installed in the Windows store will be resettled. Windows puts a list of apps removed on your desktop after you refresh your PC.

  • First file type of the elements for organizing items

I would like to only first Elements of access via the Photoshop Elements Organizer, but I'm not sure what file type to save my first editing of files, so that they can be imported and marked in the elements Organizer and also played through the elements Organizer.

I want to just run an organizer. Is this possible and what should I save my first finals as after having been edited files. (in the same way that I save a PSD file JPG once editing is finished in the element Editor.)

Your choice of export in order to comply with the support of the elements Organizer seems to limit for me. But...

If I have a 1080 p 30 timeline in first 13 elements project editor and export it

    Publish + share

    Computer

    AVCHD

    with Presets = MP4 H.264 1920 x 1080 p 30

This file is saved on the hard disk of the computer can be taken in organizing elements 13

    a. to view a thumbnail with a frame of the video

    and

    b. can be read in the drive of organizing items 13.

I didn't by all export choices to unravel the formats will do the same. But this particular result of AVCHD.mp4 (1920 x 1080 p 30) is

    as described.

What is your choice of export now and is importation of final product in organizing elements 13 showing here and reading here?

Ok. Then, it is possible that when you connect the player to the machine then the organizer was defined as an application to open files. This option appears in the options of Windows autorun. On Windows 7, you should go to control panel > hardware and sound > Autoplay > photos >. Don't you see the option "organize and edit using Adobe elements Organizer 8.0" checked there? Delete it or set it as "take no action" to avoid the EO Autolaunch Popup.

  • Cannot create folders after update of Lenovo to tab 2 A10

My Tablet has downloaded an update for Lenovo this morning. After the update, all my files are gone, and my apps are spread over two pages in alphabetical order. I'm unable to hold and drag to create new folders. When I take an application icon, it brings to the top of the home screen to move the shortcut to the application. How to create folders after update?

I just thought of it. You must move the shortcuts to the application in one of the home screens, then you can hold and drag to create folders. This seems like an unnecessary extra step...

  • Lost files after that the user profile service has no problem

In order to correct a problem with the user profile Service failed, I followed the instructions at support.microsoft.com/kb/947215 to remove the corrupted profile and create a new.  Profile corrupt (probably) was my usual login and my login of admin privileges (I didn't know there was no reason to separate them).  I created the new profile of admin privilege and connected successfully with that.  However, my original admin profile is not deleted and I can now log on that as well.  So now I have two profiles admin and a guest profile.  The problem is that I can't access my data files using these profiles.  This includes my documents Word and Adobe and other applications in which I entered the data.  The applications are there, but they appear as having no data in them.  My screen came back on the screen by default, and almost all of my desktop shortcuts have been removed.

How can I access my data?

I have a restore point on January 22.  I deleted the corrupted profile on 30 January.

    You can try this:

    1. Download, install and run the Restore of System Explorer.
    2. Select a date that precedes the January 30.

This will give you a virtual drive letter that shows the C: drive as it was to the selected date. Using Windows Explorer, you should now be able to copy files and missing files to the place where normally keep you them.

This could be a good time to review your backup strategy. The rule is: a file that is not saved is a lost file. It's only a matter of time. Regular (e.g. weekly) backups on an external (usually a hard drive in a USB enclosure) are common.

  • Tired of the throes of finding lost files of office

Is it possible to change the default with MS programs to save the downloaded files office as temporary files?  I know that you can use "Save as", after that you open to save a permanent record, but I have a tendency to forget and am tired of the agony of searching for lost files.  Thank you...

No doubt, you are referring to attachments in mail?

If that's that case mail attachments are allways saved in a temporary location, unless you use "save under", which cannot be changed.

Its always been the case that if you modify an attachment and save, this backup may be lost.

And unless you perminently delete mail all mail & commitment will be kept in your e-mail folders or your archive.

And if you have the habit of perminentaly deletion of mail there are third-party add-ins that can remove all attachments and who save to a location of Documents.

    Pe1,

    Welcome to the HP Forum.

The invitation to upgrade to 8.1 Windows comes from Microsoft.  Unfortunately, Windows 8.1 does not care what happens in your software brand in the upgrade process.  This is not limited to laptops HP - computers and desktops other brands may suffer the same consequences.

You've probably discovered since your initial post you will need to return to your backups of Windows 8 to reinstall all personal files.

You may need to install all the programs you have installed previously from original source.

To install programs may include (and are not confined to the):

    • Browser (s) and/or bookmarks
    • Personal programs - Office games, you bought or downloaded from the Internet, e-mail programs
    • Purchased or downloaded from the store of Windows applications

The upgrade process was able to destroy your Recovery Manager - that being the case, you will have to wear a support driver your computer Web pages look to see if you can find all the missing drivers.

HP, software brand may be missing - and probably won't be available in the Support pages.  This includes software that may have been added to your computer as promotional or trial.

Don't forget that everything that could have been on the computer when it was new won't be available in your Web support pages - it can be your Web pages don't supply not all drivers for Windows 8.1 - it all depends on the laptop model.

If everything becomes too much and you want to go back and start over, use your recovery media to return to Windows 8.  If you did not once set, you might be able to buy a set of HP.
