Portege R700-1E8: DVD player will not eject tray

Hello
My DVD does not open the tray.
When I hit eject I hear any attempt to open and after a few seconds the lights go on but the drawer does not open.

Is there a solution for this. I unplugged my PC and I tried ejecting with power on my PC and it works well, able to open and close the knob. I know that it is software related, but I don't know how to fix it.

Any ideas?

Thank you, Iris

Hello

> Is there a solution for this.

There should be a small, very small hole near the eject button.
You can open the drawer manually insert a thin object such as staple or paper clip into this hole.
The tray should eject and you should be able to insert a disc

PS: In my opinion his software problem is NOT from the plateau ODD is not controlled by a software

  • Portege R700 - external DVD Player compatibility

I have a problem with a Samsung external super-multi drive 2 year with my new Portege R700-1F3, which does not come with a DVD player. The USB powered Samsung dvd player works fine with all other computers that I have access to:
    * MacBook with OS X 10.5
    * Samsung NP - X 360 laptop computer with Windows XP 32-bit
    * Dell Inspiron Zino HD computer desktop with Windows 7 64 bit

    The symptoms are:
    * When the dvd player is plugged in Portege, the green light on the dvd player goes on and out.
    * This happens in the BIOS, and once that Windows 7 32-bit support.
    * In Control Panel Windows 7 devices & printers, the DVD alternately appear & disappear constantly.
    * When it appears, it shows up as "USB storage device" with a yellow! warning icon.

I tried all 3 USB ports. The power cable is plugged Portege. I tried the turn of the digital signature when starting upwards. The external dvd came free with my old laptop from Samsung and is the model AA-ES0N09B.

Any suggestion that this is a hardware or software problem and how to fix it?

    Thank you
    Lola

    Hi Lola,.

Have you tried other USB devices on your Portege R700 if they work properly?

If peripheral USB do some problems I would try to remove the USB ports from the Device Manager (right click > uninstall) and restart your computer. After that, the USB ports will be recognized again and you are able to use them.

If it doesn t help I would try a driver update from the official website of Toshiba chipset. http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/

  • DVD Player Will NOT force him to leave

    Hello

After playing a DVD, I ejected the disk and now I want to CLOSE DVD player; It will not CLOSE, so now I'm in vain try to Force Quit the application integrated on my early 2010 MacBook Pro DVD player.  Also, I'm not able to add to my ESET Cyber Security quarantine because it is not a regular file.  Try force quit with a right click and both via the Force Quit window will not work.

Right click on "show all Windows" on "DVD player" on the quay offers a DEFAULT SCREEN with only the two supplied Dock and the same origin.  There is NO MENU BAR provided either at the TOP of the SCREEN?

    • What is a DVD called in activity monitor? And what method can I close?
    • How can I force quit via a command to USE in the Terminal.
    • Is there a cash OUT REQUEST "DVD PLAYER" to download?  And where should I go to reinstall?

    I can't close idvd?

  • DVD player will not open

I am running Windows Vista 64-bit with all maintenance applied.  My computer has two DVD RW drives.  When I push the eject button physical on the drive, the tray opens for a while and then quits.  If I select "eject" on the graphic display (Windows Explorer), the behavior is the same - the tray opens for a while and then quits.

Here's the new readers.  I just replaced them, since the old disks had the same problem, and I assumed the old disks were somewhat defective.

If I just start the update of the BIOS, the problem goes away - I push the physical eject button, and the drawer opens and stays that way.  For this reason, I guess that the problem is not the faulty discs, but something that makes Windows.

  • Satellite Pro A100: CD/DVD player will not play the audio CD or video DVD

    People,
    I have a Satellite Pro A100, with a RUG * a DVD-RAM UJ - 841 S Drive.
It will read fine data disks, but refuses to play with the audio CD or video DVD.

    I tried to uninstall & Re-Installing DVD - RAM Driver;
That got rid of the "IO error" that I received, unfortunately I don't notice the full error: S.
He now just doesn't see the drive. Someone at - it ideas?

I did a full windows update, and the Toshiba Diagnostic util tell me anything useful except "Fail" :(

I found a thread in this forum that describes a similar theme:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=19747&MessageID=72404

Sometimes this error is displayed because the player does not support the environment.
Always it is every way is supported by readers and I think that in the user manual, you will find an index CDs or DVDs compatible

Maybe the drive is defective and can not calibrate lens in the right position.
But this laptop is not very old, and I can't imagine that the drive is defective
    However, nothing is impossible.

What you can do is to carefully clean the lens and see that it will help.

  • Satellite M40-145: CD/DVD player will not play some DVD

    Hello!

I am the owner of a Satellite M40-145 bought a little over a year; DVD driver worked perfectly until three days ago, but today I discovered something... strange. Still, it reads the DVD business and burned the DVD + r, but apparently it does not read the DVD - r serious more. I tried with different DVD - Rs, I burned the same DVD player, without success; trying to access the DVD gives a message "insert the disk in drive D:".

In this case, I'm talking about movies on DVD. Please tell me there is a way to fix this without sending the computer to the customer service...
I wouldn't think he fell down a few days after the expiry date of the guarantee.

    Hello

Well, you can try to remove the Device Manager order form.
After restarting again the reader should be recognized again. Then, check if it is possible to read the DVD - R, CD.

But the question sounds like a lens calibration error. If you use different media, the lens must be calibrated again. But if this procedure fails, the drive is not able to read or write the DVD for example.
Unfortunately, in this case only the replacement of the drive will resolve this problem.

  • Qosmio G30-176 - DVD player will not play

The dvd player won't play or even say that there is a disc please help

    Hi Paul

Your message is very short and you don t provide all the details, but I will try to provide the answer to a problem.
First of all, this looks like a hardware problem. I mean the lens of the drive cannot calibrate in the right position and would have problems.
In this case the player would not be able to manage different CDs or DVDs.

But first, you should try this
Access to the registry and try to remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

After this withdrawal, restart the computer.

I read that this accelerated procedure to solve the different CD/DVD drive problem.

But if you will not be successful then a hardware problem is possible and only a replacement of drives could help.
