Portege S100 Ultra Slim Bay HARD drive adapter take 2.5 HDD?

As the title says really, think to add a second hard drive to my portege s100, but not sure if the Ultra Slim Bay adapter HARD disk can take normal 2.5 "HDD, or just the special Ultra Slim Bay HARD drive.
Thank you
Danh

Hello

First of all, you need to use the HARD drive adapter selectable right Bay which is compatible with the Portege S100.

I found an and it seems that the HARD drive adapter Bay selectable PA3408U-1ETC is the right!
Case Interface is serial ATA (SATA). And the Serial - ATA 80GB HDD Kit PA3407U - 1 H 80 must be compatible with the select Bay case

  • Portege M700 - Ultra Slim Bay

In the User Guide, in the section of list of equipment control, it says "Ultra Slim Bay weight Saver (is included with some models)". And since I got a case Ultra Slim Bay (which is also included in some models), logically, it would also come with the weight of the day before. Because, when I take off my DVD player to place in the case of the Ultra Slim Bay, there is a gaping hole left in the laptop where the DVD player used to be. It is not sensible that Toshiba did not provide weight saver, it don't...?

    Thanks for your help,

PS. This message was rejected by the system because it was blasphemous? What is going on? It took me 7 tries until I decided to change my message instead. What is the problem with the system? It was VERY frustrating, and it does not tell you what part he wanted to edit! bad code... Fix it.

I m not a Portege M700 owner but I think Akuma's right. The dummy DVD Don comes only with models without DVD player, I think.

If you wish, you can contact an authorized service provider. They can order all the parts of Toshiba.
Or search you on the homepage Toshiba accessories. Maybe you will find the part number you can search with Google to find online shops they sell this part.

    Good luck!

  • Tecra M5: Need for a Slim Select Bay HARD drive adapter

I bought the Tecra M5 last week and I'm very happy with it, but I also bought the disc adapter HARD Slim SelectBay (number PA3134U-2CTE)
I already have a hard drive to go inside, but upon arrival, I found that they are not compatible, and I need a caddy / adapter plate so that it all works!

Anyone have any ideas on a market after copy?
I spent the last 4 hours of the day on the phone with various departments within Toshiba and suppliers, of which none seem to be able to help. I'm going to spend 280 on a 100 GB HARD drive, when a 120 gig on his own is only 120, I think 160 for the plate of the evasive / caddy is too expensive!

    Cheers in anticipation.

  • How do I know if my laptop has two bays HARD drives?

    Hello

    Dv6-6093ex product name

    Product number: LM610EA

If I had upgraded to standrad HDD in an SSD and want to leave the HARD drive installed in drive secondray Bay. Can my laptop cause two bays for HARD drives?

I install SSD on the main drive Bay. If I don't need the HARD drive storage space, I'll just move to the disk bay secondary school (I assume that my laptop has two bays for HARD drives).

Your laptop has a 2.5-inch HDD Bay. There is no WSSD slot so you can have a single hard drive, unless you are willing to give up the optical drive, in which case you can use an optical drive for hard drive adapter. If you want to use a SSD put in the slot 2.5 internal and a hard drive in the Bay optical adapter.

  • HARD drive adapter vs autonomy...?

    Hi guys,.

Forgive me if my question have been discussed before, impossible to find all threads...

I think with the purchase of the HARD drive adapter for my T410 so that I can place a 2nd HDD optical drive, thought to 1 TB. My question is, how much battery life will be affected if I go that direction?

All input will be greatly appreciated

    Omar

Generally, it will be as much as relugar HARD drive inside. Usually going to have impact on battery life 30-60 minutes-depending on the use of the HARD disc.

7200 RPM hard drives drain more and are often noisier and definitelly get a little hotter than 5400 prm. So I would suggest with 5400 RPM HARD drive.

  • Drive hard County Bay & hard drive Bay opening in HP ENVY 15-3090

    Greetings,

I have a HP ENVY 15-3090 ca I bought last year that I believe has a failing hard drive.  It's discs hard perfect excuse for me to install a larger (or more?) and I would like to ask for some information on the laptop.

First of all, are there two hard drive bays or just one?  I know that I could use my optical drive to a new hard drive Bay, but I'd rather not.

Second, how deepen access to the area of the hard drive Bay so that I can install it with a new drive hard (or readers?).  It is not immediately obvious to me how I could open this laptop at first sight and inspection, but I could be missing something painfully easy.

Thanks in advance for your time, I appreciate it.

    Hello

Your laptop has 1-Bay HARD drive: the drive sits under the same cover that conceals the battery.  There is a catch, you have to slide before that this coverage will release - see the description & images on Pages 43-44 of your & Maintenance Guide.

  • W520 Ultrabay second hard drive adapter

    Hello

I just bought a W520 and I would had an SSD.

The idea is to remove the current HARD drive, place a SSD in place, remove the optical drive Ultra Bay and place the (deleted) HARD drive. I would like to know if I should order an adapter to connect the HARD drive in the Bay of the Ultra.

    I found this: http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/frweb/LenovoPortal/fr_FR/catalog.workflow:item.detai...

I called Lenovo French support center but they say clearly.

    Thanks for your time.

    Hello BGI:

Personally, I don't think it's a problem that the UltraBay tape for the hard drive is shorter than 3 mm slot.  My guess (strictly a guess), it's that there are other models of laptops Lenovo out there who cannot accept a high 9 mm UltraBay object and makes Lenovo a deliberate choice to ensure that the UltraBay tapes would fit into all different machines - rather than having a second version that only fit in series W520.

The tape drive does not come with the computer (the computer comes with a CD/DVD player, except if you have ordered a RAID instead).  The tape drive is an option that must be controlled.  I ordered mine as I placed the order for the computer.

  • Second Bay hard drive to replace the Blu - Ray player

Does anyone know if this drive Bay would work on the Y580?

    http://www.Amazon.com/micro-SATA-cables-optical-adapter/DP/B005L94EAM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&QID=1354201...

I need to find one from a seller we.

It worked fine on my z580, who seems to have the same chassis as yours:

    http://www.Amazon.com/GP/product/B0056EW4A4/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00

and while you're there you can get it too, in case you need the STRANGE:

    http://www.Amazon.com/GP/product/B00274HQY0/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i01

BTW, it is difficult to get off the bezel, I had to push the vertical tab on the left side (if it is viewed from the front) for awhile I didn't break it. Those in the middle are off easily and the last one (horizontal to the right) is more difficult to identify, you slightly rotate the bezel away from him.

And do not forget to move the rear support in metal in the new Assembly, otherwise the HARD drive is only required by the SATA connection

  • DV7-6195us, a 15mm high hard drive adapt?

    I have a laptop DV7-6195us.

I want to upgrade the hard drive in the drive Bay Second to a Western Digital WD20NPVT, 2 TB hard drive. This drive is 15mm high. My current drives are 9.5 mm in Bay 1, 12.5 mm in bay 2.

The larger hard drive will fit inside the bay, with or without secondary hard drive bay changing? If the change is necessary, what is involved for the mod?

    Thank you.

    Dave

    Dave1290,

    Here are the specifications of your HP Pavilion dv7-6195us Entertainment Notebook computer. Here is the HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC - Maintenance and Service of Guide for your computer. According to the "maintenance and Service Guide", Page 6 - Chapter 1 - "Product Description", only the following drive formats are supported;

    Hard drives - Supports 6.35 - cm (2.5 in.) 12.7 mm hard drives (.50in), 9.5 mm (. 37-in) and 7.0 mm (. 28 - in.) thick

According to the information above, the answer is that a 15mm disc does not fit into your computer. Change can allow the reader to adapt, but could compomise the drive and/or computer. I wouldn't recommend any change to this effect.

    Please send Bravo

  • Hard drive adapter 5,25 inches

I have a HP e9280t.  It comes from the factory with two hard drives and a DVD.  I would like to add a third hard drive.  It sounds simple enough, but obviously, it will go in the single Bay empty 5.25 ".  I need to find an adapter for 3.5 "hard drives that are compatible with the Bay 5.25" without tool.  I was hoping that HP has sold a part, but if they do, they hide it of course on their website.  Can anyone recommend such an adapter?  Thank you.

Have you given up on the idea, or have you found a workaround?

I think putting the empty adapter in its place and drill a hole in the chassis and the adapter.  It looks like I can then use a self-tapping screw to lock the adapter in place.

    Thanks for the reply.

  • Portege won't go in HARD drive recovery

    Hello
I have a laptop Portege that I want to get back to the default settings after news of windows 7 has been installed on the system. I did it in the past of the system while now the key 0 down however now I see when I do it is the label of "HARD Drive Recovery Mode" down left and then the operating system loads normally.

No idea what is the problem here? How can I force the recovery process?
(I don't see the recovery partition in Windows.)
    Thank you
    Erez.

    Hello

HARD drive recovery option is available when the laptop to factory settings.
    >... after a new of windows 7 has been installed on the system.
If you have installed your own Windows version HARD drive recovery option is no longer available.
In this case, you can install original recovery image using recovery media (DVD).
You have created the media according to the instructions described in the user s manuals document?

  • Portege M300 fails to recognize HARD drive

Last week, I replaced the hard drive on my laptop Toshiba Portege M300 to a larger drive. It worked very well for a coupe of days, but when I tried to plug in the hard drive of origin back in (to copy data on a network share, which I forgot to transfer to the new hard drive) he does not see the drive. I tried to set the new drive and he can't see it either.

I tested the original and new hard drive on a different laptop and they work so I can't guess the willing Portege of a faulty ide controller or the ide cable. No matter which hard drive, I am attaching the trys to laptop to boot from the CD-ROM, ignores the hard drive and the NIC PXE trys. The bios indicates also theres no hard disk attached too.

First of all, if the CD-ROM drive still work am I right in thinking the ide controller is still work?

Secondly could someone suggest where I can buy an ide for a M300 cable because it is a ribbion printed circuit board which I have never seen elsewhere. I guess this is part of Toshiba custom?

    Hello

I believe also that it is Toshiba custom component and it will be much better in the service partner contact in your country. AFAIK this Portege is very nice and expensive unit and you should not do it alone. If you have a hardware problem allow technicians to do it for you. Small mistake and you can just have big problem.

Are you sure that you did not damage something?

  • Portege 3500: Need a new HARD drive

    Hello

I bought a Portege 3500 and after a few weeks of use, the hard disk or fan (safe) started to make loud noises and now every time I turn on the laptop screens toshiba rises and it happens eventually to a screen I wrote what he said below.

I read somewhere that this means that my hard drive is over and I have to buy a new hard drive.
Is this true and if so anyone know where I can get a drive hard because the laptop is old?

The only one I've seen that is in stock is of about £230 and it's about the same price, I bought the laptop.
Or is there a solution ive tried going on in all modes but it just restarts and Ive also tried to reinstall the OS using the cd but I can't in the menu option to reinstall XP.

    Hello

AFAIK Portege 3500 was equipped with the 40 GB IDE HDD.
This is why you must use an IDE hard drives (not SATA).

    Now, it would be important to know what max HD size could be compatible;
If the laptop supports 40 GB I think a 60 GB HARD drive might work too.

I think that you should just google for some 40 GB, 60 GB hard drives, that supports the IDE!
