Portege Z20t SSD - SATA m2 only highlighted?

I have a Z20t-B - 10 c with a 256 GB SSD Samsung MZNTE256HMHP, which is a module of 2280 SATA m2.

I guess, I could replace it by any other module of 2280 SATA m2, as the new SanDisk X 400 1 TB (also named SD8SB8U - 1 T 00-1122 or SD8UB8U - 1 T 00-1122, don t know the difference yet).

Anyone know where I could also substitute a 2280 m2 PCIe module (also called NVMe), like the Samsung SSD SM951-NVMe 512 GB m2 (MZVPV512HDGL) or the Plextor M6e 512 GB m2 (PX-G512M6E)? What should I look for the key B m2 or M?

I do not think that the laptop supports PCIe, you should get a SATA to ensure compatibility.

  • Portege-Z20t-B-10 c-SE - question of material specification

Hello, after using the Lenovo x61t for more than 7 years, it's time to find a new.

The z20t seems to be the only one that fits my needs:
    * convertible
    track stick
    * at least full-screen HD (and not a mirror!)
    * VGA
    * native (!) Ethernet

The only drawback is the small ssd (max. 256) and this is only HDMI 1.4, no 2.0 (CPU throttling) or Display Port for 4k@60Hz

Then, I stumbled upon a Z20t-B-10 c-SE with a 500 GB SSD! Is this true or a fake? Yesterday, it was listed with 16 GB of RAM, today with only 8 GB of RAM.

If I'm allowed to dream, I would add these to the z20T:
(* the third mouse button for the score for the scroll button (this is something that I use almost everytime))
    * Maybe put 16 GB of RAM of the laptop
    * 2.0 HDMI or Displayport - this is itself resolved via an upgrade to Skylake which provides HDMI 2.0
    * Having PCe-Lanes (it would be enough) in the dock connector

The last of them allows to have several variants of keyboard:
    * one that is offered today
    * one with a slot ExpressCard (player additional cards, several USB ports, TV cards, special Internet cards, etc. data acquisition interface cards)
    * one with an ExpressCard slot & second SSD/HDD bay (for example a "cheap & really big HARD drive")

Extra, a 'small & tiny' each gramm is important to people for whom might be nice (I'd rather the 'standard' that comes with the lot on z20t lowercase which comes with many other paintings)

    Who are my thoughts.

    "Dreams" sounds good

-Mouse extra 3rd button... Well I never demanded this button on my touchpad... so this button would be useless for me...

-16 GB of RAM... certainly big YES... but unfortunately this Portege Z20t - B - 10 c supports max 8 GB RAM... This limitation appears because of the chipset/CPU

-Espress Card slot is can be a feature of nice to have, but I think that this kind of interface is already more or less declining...

  • Portege Z20t-C-121 screen does not automatically turn into tablet mode

    Hello

We bought a Portege Z20t-C-121 to test as a replacement for some of our leaders. I have built with Windows 10 company and installed all the drivers latest on the Toshiba site. A WiFi Intel driver did not work properly so I downloaded and installed from the Intel Web site.

The only thing that I can't work seems to be the automatic rotation of the screen; When I dock the screen to use as a Windows Tablet detects this and goes into tablet mode, but however I turn the screen remains in the same landscape as it was when it was docked.

Name of the operating system: Microsoft Windows Enterprise 10
    OS version: 10.0.10586 n/a build 10586

Can someone tell me what I need to do to get this feature works please?

Have you installed the drivers Win8 or Win10?

Have you installed the driver system of Toshiba and Toshiba system settings?

  • Portege Z20T: Screen gets scratched by almost anything

    Ciao!

I own a Portege Z20T B - 10 c which is a pretty nice machine, but has an embarrassing flaw: the screen is scratched by virtually any contact. For example, I can't use the "pen of emergency" for the touch input or write on the screen, because it causes scratches. In addition, the screen has already collected a series of scratches shaping the contour of the touchpad, is supposed to be produced when the laptop is closed. So you can't really use the laptop, how it should be used, and I fear that a few months from now, the screen will be filled with stripes.

While I'm waiting for my laptop store decide whether a case of warranty or not, I wonder if anyone of you has this template and it has encountered the same problem?

    See you soon,.
    Stefan

I have exactly the same problem. I only use the machine since July and already it's enough damage. Basically, the screen is rubbing against the dock and I the footprint in the sketch of the touchpad. I fear that they will soon be damaging the images captured by the camera since the outline of the Tablet are right on the lens.

Toshiba is reluctant to fix it so far and I've included the response of my rep account below. Frankly, I was shocked because it is such a costly computer and the cause of the problem seems so obvious. I was also disappointed that they do not consider this thread to assess my case since it is the first result when one Googles 'portege striped screen.

    Hello Eric,

I sent to your email with pictures of your computer laptop scratches to the screen. They responded by saying that the stripes are not due to a manufacturing defect, and there has not been an another other touchscreens Z20t reports get scratches like that on the screen, so there is nothing they can do to replace it. Our Customer Service Manager will usually just make the call to replace him, if the laptop is with the first 90 days, which is 2 and a half months after the normal return policy. He was not able to get permission to replace it.

I'm glad that you were able to get this phone back operational. Please keep this practical Business Technical Support number for future needs, that I hope that you don't always have to use it in the future. Please give me a call if you have any other questions in the future.

  • Portege Z20T - B - 10 c - support in Ireland

    Hello world.
    I recently bought a PORTEGE Z20T-B - 10 c. I'm pretty happy with it.
I came on line today to buy an extended warranty and it seems that none of the listed resellers/partners actually sell in my country (Ireland).
Not much, I'll reach out to Toshiba, I thought.

Unfortunately, the phone number on the site of Toshiba Ireland support goes to a fruit and veg shop, the pages of "procedure" (and many others) is broken and gives a 404 error. The only support is from that annoying little living person who is not supported as she tells me to call support. Unfortunately, there is no real number.

Toshiba Ireland on Facebook just ignore my messages and I've been through almost on every page on the site looking for information of contact without result.

I don't actually need support right at the moment (other than knowing where I can actually buy an extended warranty), but it dawned on me that if I finally find a way to buy the warranty, I wouldn't be able to use it because it is impossible to connect to any kind of support request.

It seems that these forums are just peer supported also.
Thus, Toshiba have no support at all? Or they rely on third parties exclusively?
If they rely only on third parties, someone at - it recommendations for what to do when something goes wrong?
This has been a surprisingly frustrating experience so far and I'm still not in a stressful situation to still need support!

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Dave

    Hello

Not very well why you could not access the Ireland of Toshiba 'extended warranty' correctly, but now the site seems to work well:
    http://www.Toshiba.IE/services/warranty-extension/

I recommend you to check again.

  • Tecra R850 - support SSD SATA 6.0 GB III

    Hello.

    I bought R850 with SSD.
The bad news is that SSD 256 GB installed is limited to SATA II with up to 300/Mo transfer. I read that Sandy Bridge supports SATA III, which covers 600/Mo.

Is someone installed successfully the best able with SATA3 SSD drive?

I tried Sisoft Sandra and it reported that the SSD SATA is II, the same for the motherboard. The HwINFO reported that this chipset is compatible with SATA 3. Everest shows that SSD SATA 2 data.

It's the bios locked for higher transfers? I got 180 MB/s read, 150 MB/write - what is 3 x worse than normal SATA 3 SSD 256 GB hard disks.

Can someone help me and tell - if it's the bios R850? or only the old SSD Toshiba firmware? If I buy the best SSD with SATA3 - it will fully support higher speed?

    Best regards
    Tomi2012

    Hello

I don't know Mr. what portable R850-xxx you but as far as I know, this series is equipped with one for the (Sandy Bridge) Intel i3/i5/i7 CPU.
The phone also supports either Intel Cougar Point QM67 (model TN) or HM65 (model no - AMT). The two supports SATA II (3 Gb/s) and SATA III (6 Gb/s)

But for example, if the host interface is 300 MB/s, you get experienced data reading: Max 250 MB/s and write data to sustain: Max 160 MB/s

  • Portege Z20t - B - 10 c have to reboot the router WLan

I just got my ultrabook Portégé Z20t - B - 10 c yesterday, and after using it, I noticed that when it connects to one of my Wifi networks, the strength of router reboots after about a minute - I disconnected from the internet.
There is no recurring problem with him connected to the home Wifi network, and it also works when wired.

The problem router is a Netgear N150 access point, and the issue only seems to occur when the Portege will connect to it.
Several other devices, including a Toshiba Satellite laptop, connect to the router without a problem.

I tried to update the drivers for wireless cards, but apparently they are up-to-date.
I also tried to reset the router and the problem persists.

    Can anyone help?

Just to clarify: there's nothing wrong with the laptop but with the WLan router.
    Is this right?

The Portege Z20t - B - C 10 seem to support the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 with BT module... I think that you should first check if your router and wireless network cards use the same standard (802.11 A / N / B / G etc...)
Also encryption (WPA/WPA2 AES, TKIP) as well as the settings of 20 / 40 Mhz should be checked... maybe the router will work better using different settings...

I recently ordered this ssd sata m2 of amazon, but I'm not sure its compatible with my system - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TGIW1XG?psc=1 & redirect = true & ref_ = oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00.

Its a Samsung 850 500 GB M.2 3.5 inch SSD Form Factor 80nm.  Can I use in a configuration to double for my laptop with the current 5400 RPM 1 TB HARD drive already in the system?  Or do I have to use one or the other?  Or can I select a smaller SSD storage for a double configuration?  I have to talk to a technician and he said my system does not support a 128 GB ssd and it did not indicate if it is a double or a single disk configuration.  In my view, it is difficult to imaging a new desire to 2015 with an i7 Quad Core skylake 6700HQ processor supports only a meagre 128 GB SSD.  Any ideas on what my system can support?

I can verify that it works very well. I had HP technology insist that I could use only one hard disk and a maximum capacity of 128 GB. The technicians don't know squat. I use now a configuration double with the operating system and my programs on my 850 m2 sata evo III 500 GB SSD and my data (videos, music and photos) files on the preinstalled 5400 RPM 1 TB HARD drive.

  • Portege R600 - SSD Compatiability

Can someone confirm if OCZ, Kingston or SSD Transcend is compatiable with the Portege R600? I want to replace my main HARD with a 64/128 GB SDD drive.

It should not be a problem if you want to use the SSD with the right interface. You need a SATA SSD.
AFAIK the Portégé R600-102 was equipped with 120 GB SSD SATA.

  • Pavilion dv7-6178us: SSD SATA dv7-6178us which is Compatible with my laptop?

I have a Pavilion dv7-6178us laptop 'hand', and I would like to change the existing hard drive.  I understand that it came originally with a 750 GB SATA drive at 5400 RPM, but I inherited mine with only 100 GB SATA, OUCH!  I would like to upgrade my drive to a SSD for the best possible performance, and then add a larger disk for storage.  When you are looking for different drives, I came across SATA I, SATA II and SATA III and I can not figure out which is compatible with my computer or what he came originally with.

Which SATA (I, II or III) is compatible with the dv7-6178us?

What is the largest compatible SSD, or should I expect for the best performance?

What is the greatest player I can additionally ADD the SSD for storage?

Which SATA (I, II or III) is compatible with the dv7-6178us? Specification the SATA is backward compatible. This means that disks SSD SATA type will work in your notebook. The SSD will be made only to the level of specification SATA your SATA controller is capable of. If the controiller is SATA150 so your SSD SATA600 installed work bandwidth SATA150.

What is the largest compatible SSD, or should I expect for the best performance? , You can install one with the largest capacity you can afford.  I would recommend not to install a larger than 512 GB. My own brand preferences are Intel, OCZ Technology, Samsung and SSD Crucial.  Purchase of the SSD in upgrade kit is the simplest solution. Upgrade kits come with a SATA to USB cable and cloning software making it a fairly simple process to upgrade the laptop. See the post-it that I wrote at the top of the section of portable equipment for some details on this.

What is the greatest player I can additionally ADD the SSD for storage? I recommend you not to install any disk hard legacy with a capacity greater than 1 terabyte. There is no guarantee that a superior who will work as expected.

The following information is the maintenance guide & computer Support laptop dv7 to refers to the physical size of existing hard drives.

    6.35 cm (2.5 in) drives supports hard drives to 12.7 mm (. 50 inches), 9.5 mm (. 37-in) and thicknesses of 7.0 mm (. 28 - in)

  • HP Pavilion dv7 - 4083cl: support SSD SATA III?

    Hello

I think about adding a 2nd. hard drive in my HP Pavilion dv7 - 4083cl.

The current drive of 500 GB at 7200 RPM will be the 2nd. drive and a new SSD will be 1. drive (System and boot).

I was looking for this information, but I couldn't find the answer. My doubts are:

    1. the dv7 - 4083 cl does support SATA III? If I install a SATA III disc, will it work to its full potential, or as a SATA II drive? In other words, can I buy a SSD SATA II drive cheaper because I wouldn't have the performance of a most recent hard drive SSD SATA III?

    2. a 256 GB SSD support this machine? Or is it just up to 160 GB?

    Thank you!

    Hello:

You know the chipset specifications to determine what version of your laptop SATA drive will manage transfer speeds to.

Your laptop computer has a chipset Mobile Intel series 5 (HM55) who can run that hard disks to the SATA II transfer speed.

Not until you get to new Intel 6 Series chipsets and can they run SATA III drives to SATA III speed.

Here is the link to the plug on the chipset of your notebook.  Note the SATA 3.0 GB/S specifications.

    http://www.Intel.com/content/www/us/en/chipsets/mainstream-chipsets/mobile-chipset-HM55.html

Since your laptop comes standard with a 500 GB HARD drive, I imagine a 250 GB SSD should work fine.

However, the recovery disks may not work on a smaller hard drive.

  • SSD for boot only on 1170 HPE-9.

I just bought a 1170 HPE-9, and it came with a SSD 256 GB and a 1 to as the secondary drive. Is it possible to configure the computer to just use the SSD for boot only, and have all new program of these games, videos and large files to use the 1 TB.  Somewhere, I continue to move these files to the 1 TB drive, but some of the reasons that some programs can do, but others install automatically on the SSD (C:\), fills the SSD so fast.

Are there any suggestions or comments to avoid such as Itunes or any portal application of games to download directly on the 1 TB.  I know that before the application is downloaded it normally asks you where to install, but in many cases, is not.  I just want to put the SSD just to boot only and the necessary windows files.  Is there a setting in Windows 7 I need to change or RAID configuration or any?

Yet once, I enjoy comments and/or suggestions.

    Hello

You can use Windows 7 to move several folders listed under your user ID.

C hard drive :--> users--> 'your name'---> you can then right mouse click on folders such as: my videos, my music, My Documents, my pictures, Favorites, then choose location. Then use Move to move the file and remap the location on the desired location (1 TB HDD). See the example below.
