Possibility to suspend or delay in a loop?

Hi - I was wondering if there is a way to take a break from a loop. I'm missing that jQuery has a delay() function but I can't seem to make it work.

was thinking of something like:

BLOB = "this is a test of the emergency broadcast system."

for (i = 0; i < blob.length; i ++)

{

SYM.$("text"). Delay (300) .html (BLOB [i]);

}

any ideas?

Thank you!!

get it - just in case others have a similar question - it worked:

var i = 0;

function {nextFrame()

If (i< blob.length)="">

{sym.$("Text").html (a + blob [i])}

a = a + blob [i];

}

i ++ ;

Continue the loop in 50ms

setTimeout (nextFrame, 50);

}

}

    Hi all

    After a few TAPI, this is my first post here.

    I need to write a simple VI with three buttons on FP: 'Send', 'do not send' and 'Stop '.

    'Stop' execution of termites. 'Send' starts sending that one CAN frame on NI USB CAN every 5 seconds. 'Do not send' suspend the CAN communication without putting an end to the VI.

    I am not able to find a way to "suspend" the CAN in a loop and then to spin again, I tried to use the queues and the structure of the event, but I can't find a solution to this problem.

    I've been searching the net but without success, for example This example is not appropriate because 'stop' does not work when 'pause' is true.

Is it more fast and stop the virtual machine and the power save? There is the performance of 6 virtual machines on a single host with a single iSCSI SAN.

    was wondering if its possible to suspend a VM and then disconnnect the SAN to maintain SAN.

    A suspension is identical to a power off, it shows just the guest to Hibernate. So yes, it is safe.

    Is it more fast and stop the virtual machine and the power save? There is the performance of 6 virtual machines on a single host with a single iSCSI SAN.

    No its not faster, its more fast and more reliable to power off the virtual machine rather than suspend. If you need to follow the process and suspend its critical use, otherwise a scheduled interruption is better.

  • WHY? C program = No delays, Labview delays = > > Intermittent delays in the loop of RS232 serial subroutine 115200 baud. Windows 7 LV 2012

    In 30 years of developing LabVIEW I saw such a strange problem. Maybe someone can help out me.

    Here's the problem:

    Ms 1 000 large delays occur intermittently in two instances of an executable of LabVIEW with exact system. (SEE ATTACHED time STAMP of SCREEN CAPTURE FOR 11 and 14 COM COM where there was a > 1000 ms delay)

    • Subrotine RS232 communication loop were brought in the course of a program of 'C' that has held rock solid and did not have this same problem.
    • No record on the hard drive is in this subroutine, communication comes standard.
    • The executables are running on the same high performance server DELL 7910 communicating with satellites in Earth orbit, 24 x 7. (RS232 115 200 Baud, Windows 7, 6 son of processor).
    • An executable uses COM 11 and the other uses COM 14.
    • The executable has the critical loop "subroutine" that injects data REVIEWS, if there is more than a 100ms delay.
    • The subroutine is not reentrant, because it is the only case used throughout the program.
    • I placed the time markers in the loop of the subroutine which tell me exactly where in the code the delay occurred. In most but not all cases, that the delay occurs at the 'WAIT MS' or 'WAIT until the NEXT MS MULTIPLE', I tried them both, and they both have the same intermittent problem.
    • What gets me, is that the executables that are run independently of each other are logging the delay at EXACTLY the same moment. This leads me to believe that it is a question of operating system. Or a problem that the two executables have when competing for time to critical system resources.
    • This problem of intermittent delay occurs on other computers and on windows XP
    • The large delay occurs even when there is only one executable file running.
    • This problem is particularly bad , when the user resizes or drag the window to the executable.
    • If the system is left alone, the problem of > 1000 ms delay can happen only once or twice a day.
    • I have not yet attempted to set the priority or affinity processor running in the Task Manager
    • The executable runs as well some other non-critical time loops that perform SQL database entries, you connect the hard drive, then state machine management.

    Would like to hear from someone about it.

  • A problem with delays in call loops and DAQ

    I'm programming a simulation for nuclear Rewetting for a reception centre to my company in Switzerland. It is a "fuel rods" heating and then fill the water Chamber. The pump starts automatically as soon as the core of the stem reached 750 C. After that, a requirement that the flow rate be checked to ensure the operation of the pump in the necessary conditions. If not, the heating must be stopped to avoid, well... meltdown. However, we must allow 10 seconds for the pump to respond, while allowing a rate of acquisition of data from 10 to 100 Hz.

    The challenge is that I can not add a delay in my other main loop delay all acquisitions, but I can't understand how to trigger a device loop (with data acquisition for the single channel flow control) and the main loop when the loop device determines if the flow a initalised, answering the main loop with the agreement.

    I think that a large part of my confusion is in the interaction between loops and knots of default comments labview's willy nilly. The only solution would be to have two 'core' loops that do not communicate with them, but rather to do the same thing while operating different synchronization? Tell me if you want I will post the file (even if its on a unnetworked computer and I don't think that it would also be useful).

  • Strange DAQmx Timing delay home error loop

    I have a digital dashboard introduced in a timed loop counter. Everything works fine until I have stop the loop and stop the task of data acquisition. Once I restart the loop that it fails with 'resource is reserved. My code is attached.

    Thank you

    I think the problem is that when you set up a timed loop to use DAQmx task as its source of the time, the timed loop is automatically set to start the task at the start of the loop. Here, you never seem to stop the task of counter before restarting the timed loop. For the second time that you run the loop timed, it tries to restart the task of Counter and sees that a task is already running with this resource (from the first timed loop run).

    If you use the function of the task to stop the task of counter after the timed loop, you should be able to restart things.

  • Is it possible a video longer than a minute looping?

    Hey guys,.

    Ive tried to look into this and found the following solution:

    Place the video in the document.

    Turn on AutoPlay and not to allow "pause" in the void

    Make the video a multistate (two States, the same content in two State)

    Set the autoplay sideshow

    Set the delay to zero

    Set the interval to the length of your video

    Test.

    However, when you set the interval to the length of the video, it allows a second 60 max. My video is about 4 minutes, and I was wondering if anyone had any solution on how to do it.

    The only way I can think of is to use a web cache and integrate a video player in the overlay.

  • How can I create a loop with delays in the series?

    Hi all

    So I wrote a Labview program to control both machines. Very simply, one is a source of tension, and the other is a Lock-In amplifier. What I want to do is change the applied voltage, wait a few seconds for the response of GARLIC to settle, then take a number of measures of GARLIC, then those on average and save to file.

    Here is a flowchart of what I mean:

    I did it for the most part, but I'm having a little trouble with the delay. VI file is huge, so I tried to make a simplified architecture that shows the basics of what I do:

    (The string and the constant matrix constants aren't actually what I use, it's just to illustrate, because I don't know how to make a quick easy space reserved for diagrams... is there an easy way?)

    So my assumption here (and it seems that it is happening) is that, for each iteration more outside of the loop, the first thing it does is start the countdown and start the change applied voltage/etc. at the same TIME, right?

    And then he only goes in the loop of measure LIA once she completed both of these tasks, right? (Please correct me if I'm wrong!)

    Then, how would make a delay after the loop of measure LIA? If what I've said so far is correct, then if I put a 'waiting' in the main loop, I don't think that it works (or at least not be very specific) because he would begin as soon as the iteration, would therefore be cash while GARLIC measured, and so do not wait the right amount of time after the loop LIA was finished (if I even put that it is long enough that it was still underway after This loop was completed).

    Am I correct in what I said?

    What is the smart way to do this?

    Thank you!

    You're right about the order data flow, which is usually the fall of most starting LabVIEW developers.

    To add a wait behind the inside loop, ask a node pending within a structure (the simplest being a structure flat sequence) and add some sort of data flow from the output of this loop to the structure of waiting. This will force this structure will not work until the loop ends.

    That being said, there is a better way to do this. Look in the Simple State Machine with LabVIEW 2012 and more recent architecture model.

    Edit: NIquist beat me to it.

  • Electrical engineering. Delay or phase of divergence of a voltage signal acquired by RedPitaya.

    Hello!

    I work with Labview and RedPitaya in order to measure the voltage and current to calculate the instantaneous power lift consumes when it works and then see how many are P active and reactive Q.

    I need to measure the voltage between line and neutral and multiply it and current, the problem is that the neutral is not accessible, so I have to measure the voltage from line to line and turn it into the phase voltage line.

    In order to realize that I have to make two changes.

    (1) I have /sqrt3. I have already done without problem

    (2) I have to define a phase difference of 30º, or delay of a period that is equivalent (1,6666667 ms) for the voltage signal.

    I tried to do this using a block to wait a certain time structure, but it does not work correctly when the voltage needs a loop, because the Subvi does not work at the same speed, during the reading of current and voltage after a delay I see with the option to highlight. And all the clock, wait or delay the blocks I've seen are supposed to work in a loop, not connected to a signal that reads / acquisition of an instrument.

    Is it possible to affect this difference in phase or equivalent delay without a loop that only affect the voltage signal?

    Thanks in advance.

    Did you just ask to all samples, then throwing those that you don't need? For example, let's say that you are sampling at 10 kHz, if each sample corresponds to a period 100us, 16 equals 1.6ms samples and so on. So you multiply 0 line 1 (0 indexed table) sample, for example 15 or 16 of the line 2 (the one that it works best for ya, or an average of 2) and use it as your result. In this way, you don't need any delay whatsoever and do not have to worry about synchronization, since all data is coming at the same time

  • Delay between angle and entered analog on a 6221

    Hello

    my test setup consists of a (8184 current run LabVIEW RT) embedded PXI controller which uses a PXI-6221 of data acquisition. One of the outputs analog of the 6221 creates a demand for speed that is sent to a servo controller. the servo drives then the test configuration. Between the servo and the remaining test configuration, a quadrature encoder is located. Both the 6221 meters are used to measure the position of the servo (using the trains of pulses A and B) as well as the speed of the servo (frequency of A pulse train). In addition to these counter inputs, some analog inputs of the 6221 serve as well to recored the configuration of test signals.

    In this configuration, one of the analog signal has a frequency of n periods per revolution of servo (determined by the mechanical design of the test facility). But when I leave the servo turn to for example 100 rpm, then decelerate from status quo with a constant deceleration and then draw the analog signal against the measured angle, I see clearly that as long as the speed is telling, I n periods per turn (or a passage from my analog AC to zero each 1/2n towers); However, as soon as the slowdown begins, the plot gets stretched along the axis of the angle (so the plot tells me there are less than n analog periods per turn, which is impossible because it would require the mechanical destruction of the facility).
    However, I can calculate a position based on speed information signal, as I got to the second counter (by integration of the speed). When I do this for the above velocity profile and draw the analog signal against the calculated angle, I see exactly n times / revolution, no matter how fast the installation program is rotating (just the expected behavior).

    So, apparently, the speed measured is "in phase" with analog signals, while the measured angle has a "phase error. Draw the angles measured and calculated against the time tells me the same thing: the measured angle is always late (compared to the calculated angle). The period is not constant throughout the measurement; I've seen values between 30 and 170 ms within a single record. Due to this change of variable, inserting a delay for all channels, but the angle is not a great idea.

    Unfortunately, calculation of the position of the speed signal is no option for me, because the direction of rotation is changed during measurement; because speed information I have based simply on a frequency of pulse train, it contains no information management, therefore a calculated position would be unaware of the changes of direction.

    Does anyone have an idea whence thios delay and what I can do to fix this problem?
    Try a position different methods of decoding or exchanging the meter channels has not made a difference.

    Thank you!

    Hey Kevin,

    attached you will find the last block diagram (no new translation this time, since no changes have been made that require a), which includes your last suggestions (explicitly start the task of AI, remove the excess constraints) with a flat sequence structure that applies all the preparations of task to finish before the start of the first task (I know I could have achieved the same effect of intelligent routing of the signal error, but I think the code is) better readable this way).

    Without OPI, LabVIEW tends to start to have, ao and tasks of the angle of the very different moments, which (for some reason that I don't understand - we have a sample clock based calendar here, and the sample clock is run, well after the three mentioned tasks...) tends to cause delays in the order of several 10-100 ms between tasks. With the structure, this problem is eliminated.

    The Sub - VI just above DAQmx writing contains the "conduct" code that I used in the last screen shot to "serialize" the requested speeds - in this way, the table that contains the requirements of speed does not need to be rebuilt.

    The code that creates a weather channel frequency implicitly timed measure left the VI shown here in a second VI that is running on the host computer, because everything that involves a calculation and does not require any intzeraction with the DAQ hardware is better placed there (the 850 MHz on the PXI controller celeton is slower than 2 definitiely something host GHz Dual-Core system).

    The behavior you mentioned for the task "not started" HERE is what wrote using LabVIEW. I thought the block of relaxation that I had at the beginning would treat the start of the task - at least, the code like this figure repeatedly in the examples that come with LabVIEW.

    I don't really understand what has caused the problems I've had - it seems that it was the combination of the measure quickly loop iteration with the start of task based on trigger HERE, but I do not understand what are the mechanisms in the background caused the problem (too forced loop was not the cause; the same block diagram works well with an additional loop timer).

    If the solution was composed of the following steps:

    -remove the old code calculating speed, replace it with a better code out of the main loop. This allows to

    -reduce considerably the frequency of the main loop.

    -Pull the DAQmx writing out of the loop, and

    s ' ensure that all tasks are started explicitly just before the main loop starts to run.

    -Possibly remove excess constraints of the main loop.
