Possible strategies to restore a single tablespace of the instance A B

Hi all

Then...: Win 7 64 bit
... DB: Oracle 11.2.0.3 EE 64-bit

In my notebook, I have 2 instances (orateste and ora11). They are all intended to test. I don't know what happened, but a problem in a partition of my SO did the unavailable Oracle software. I can't start the instance orateste. Even the windows service that is associated with the instance have disappeared from services.msc. What I want to do is to restore only a tablespace for instance orateste to ora11. I have a full D - 1 rman backup. What are the possible solutions?

(1) to restore the entire database (orateste - 11.2.0.1) ora11 (11.2.0.3)?

(2) is there a way to restore only a tablespace between instances and versions?

Thanks in advance.

Reinstall the software
(1) how to create a windows service? Prompt caommand

oradim-new - sid - intpwd

If it helps, and take an export of all objects in this table space and import into another database, you can start your old database.

OR

Restore the full database using RMAN somwwhere else and that the export of take it from all objects in this tablespace and import them into another database.

If you have a Toshiba Vista recovery DVD then the whole HARD drive will be formatted and it s not possible to restore the operating system on a single partition.
Therefore, you should always backup before using this disc

  • Restoration of a tablespace to leave several days ago

    Hello

I'm in a bit of a pinch and could use some help, I'll try to explain my situation as clearly as possible:

-We have an Oracle database machine X 3-2

-On the ODA we have a stand-alone instance (i.e. not CARS), we'll call PROD, with OMF files stored on ASM disk groups

-In the case of PROD, we have several diagrams of each to 2 storage spaces (one for data, one for the index)

-Every day, we take a full hot backup of the database with RMAN. We do not have a catalog.

I wonder to restore a backup scheme (so 2 storage spaces) about 2 weeks, so here is what I tried:

-restore the elements of a tape to disk backup

    -added backup items

    -disconnect the 2 storage spaces

-Restore until YVERT indicated in the log of the backup (that keep us too)

-retrieve them until the SNA indicated in the backup log

At that point the process fails saying miss me the archivelogs according to the EIC, I indicated in my until clause.

I didn't expect that I would need these archivelogs since I specified the until clause, so I did not ask our admins from backup to restore.

    Here are my questions:

-Is this expected behavior? Am I the archivelogs after the CPN, I mentioned, even if I don't want to apply?

-How to restore these 2 storage spaces?

Of course, as it is an instance of PROD, I can't close even for a few minutes...

    Hello;

Use your backup to restore to a different server and data pump patterns from there.

In other words, you should consider working on a copy of the database if you do not get your recovery.

    I think you misunderstand concepts.

    (1) drop tablespace RTESTUSR including content and data files;

worth a command, it removes the tablespace named the database. There is nothing wrong with the database (even if it may be a logical (human) error). Restoration is used to fix the failings of the media. RMAN is just: ' RMAN-06019: could not translate tablespace name 'RTESTUSR' ', since there is no such tablespace in the actual database, the restore/recovery process fails.

    (2) Unfortunately, you hide the version of your database. Up to 10 gr 2 tablespace point-in-time recovery can be used to retrieve the abandoned spaces, 11 GR 1 material and higher it is possible.
And - TSPITR - requires a bit more than "set until...". ». Check the version of your unknown database will have.

My database is the system of the PLO.

My question is what are the advantages and disadvantages of having a single tablespace against several tablespace?

Easy to maintain when you have only tablespace. but hard to follow questions of IO.

Any other entry? Please let me know.

    Finally:

It is good to have more tablesapce than a big tablespace.
Above mention, big tablespace (all applications work according to this tablespace) so corrupted it will cause offline ask and time restore will take more time.
It is easy to restore single tablespace (more than a big tablespace) example you gave, apt, Arch., idx, corrupt aud tablespaces, and if one of them is East use rman or managed user restore-restore. Other words, if not all, you mentioned tablespace that you will be asked time and so on.

  • Is it possible to assign more than one tablespace to a user?

    Hello

Is it possible to assign more than one tablespace to a user? How?. It makes no sense to do?

    Thank you

You can only assign a default tablespace to a user account, but you can give quotas to different storage spaces for the same user account. If the storage space to use is not that default to the object creation tme, objects must be created with the TABLESPACE clause.

It may make sense for the same user account to use different storage spaces. Admin Guide http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14231/tspaces.htm#sthref1136 says:

    >
The spaces of multiple tables using

The spaces of multiple tables using allows you more flexibility in executing database operations. When a database has spaces of multiple tables, you can:

    *

User data separate from database data dictionary to reduce I/O contention.
    *

Separate data on a single application according to the data of another person to prevent multiple applications be affected if a tablespace must be taken offline.
    *

Store different data files of different areas of storage on different disk drives to reduce I/O contention.
    *

Use individual offline storage spaces while others stay online, providing a better overall availability.
    *

Optimize tablespace by booking a storage space for a particular type of use of the database, such that high day activity, read-only or temporary storage of segment.
    *

    Backup individual storage spaces.

    Hello

    • Picasa changed the extension of files PDF file or program, it opens with?

If Cathedral has only changed the default program files PDF opens with, I suggest you to follow the article mentioned below and check the issue.

Change the programs that Windows uses by default

If it has changed the file format, and then try to use Picasa to undo changes or you can contact the manufacturer of the program for further assistance.

    I hope this helps!

  • Is there a way to restore a SINGLE FILE in a folder deleted from the Recycle Bin?

Suppose that you remove all the contents of a folder that contains the files and subfolders. If you open the Recycle Bin, you can see a list of deleted files and subfolders, but there is no way to see the files in the subfolders. So, if you want to restore ONLY a single file in a subfolder of the deleted, it seems there is no way to do it. You can only restore the entire sub.folder, which is not necessarily what you want, especially if you filled out the application parent with other files and subfolders after the deletion.

Is there a way to restore a SINGLE FILE in a folder deleted from the Recycle Bin?

Another method would be to drag the folder to the Recycle Bin on your desktop. Open it and recover the files required - re - delete the folder.

@ Palcouk... you can actually retrieve files deleted, even when they are home to recycle the locker to restore a previous version of the folder parent; These come available restore points so not always guaranteed, but he made the most of the time if action is taken quickly enough. :) Ric

If you do not have access to windows and you used the built in backup, you will have a problem.  There is a way pretty cludgy to get home if you know where it is.  You can download Acronis true image home and convert the backup Windows a one acronis > find the file > convert a windows backup.  Not pretty but doable

  • Is it possible to group objects, which are placed in the project and then hide them with line a single action-script? THX in advance, Philip

I work in CP 9 and I'm going to try the following: the user must be able to make ALL invisible or visible to highlight boxes by clicking on the corresponding button on the first page layout. Thus, for example, if the user does not want the highlight boxes appear, click on "Hide the boxes" and boxes are hidden for the rest of the project. I managed to get to this point for help... but it is still a lot of work for me to manually enter all the different names of these boxes in the action-script. So my question is: is it possible to group objects, which are placed in the project and then hide them with line a single action-script? THX in advance, Philip

Actually... releasing the CpExtra HTML5 widget, it will be possible.

It has a function called @syntax that allows you to perform an action (for example HIDE) automatically on any object throughout a project of Cp9 simply based on the name of the object.

So for example, if you named all the boxes to highlight you want hidden this way to have the suffix _HideMe and you say CpExtra you want all of them hidden if a user variable is assigned to a certain value, then that is what will happen.

That's the good news.  The bad news is that the widget is still in BETA final tests at the moment, so you may need to wait a bit before you can realize your idea.

  • Restore a single file of a snapshot.

Please consider a 'backup' every night which is carried out by:

    1. instant comments (suspended)

2 clone the underlying data store (using "zfs snapshot" in my case that captures all files vmdk/vmsd/vmxf/vswp/lck/nvram/etc)

    3 remove the snapshot.

Question: How can I go on the recovery of a single file from the file system of comments a few days ago?  I have at my disposal the entire repertoire of the VM from the underlying data store, such as he was cloned (files in point 2 above).  I guess that my options are:

    a. somehow say ESXi to bring up the snapshot taken in step 2.  Say ESXi parallel to the direct guest who is still ongoing.  Say ESXi to bring this backup but without any internet connection, so it does not interact with the network when you restore.  While the backup is in place, the files I need.

    b. somehow, mount the NTFS volume that has been captured in step 2.  This can be difficult if the NFTS volume was spread over several disks hard vmdk (typical 2 TB by-pass)

    c. < your idea here >

    Thank you

    Chris

    Hi Chris,

    Read my instructions carefully:

1 clone your current VM. Original VM can be online - only with the right button and clone. (Do not power on the cloned VM) and then get rid of all readers (vmdk) except the system drive.

    2. now mount all vmdk backup where you have the file you want to restore. Of course, you need to get this snapshot on the data store connected to the host.

    3. remove the NIC in the cloned virtual computer and turn it on. Most likely, it will load normally and you will see the previous state and the file you want.

    4. now, the trick is to copy this file to the original virtual machine. Therefore add new disk on the cloned virtual machine.

5 format the new drive and copy the desired file

    6. remove the cloned VM disk and attach it to the original virtual machine. Copy it.

And bharathl will not work because you have SPLIT volume through some VMDK. Therefore, you have cloned VM with the same config as original virtual machine.
