Power/battery icon missing Windows 7 system tray

I lost my battery power icon / of the system tray.  I tried a few of the things listed here but is still seems to give me trouble.
Like many others here, he is grayed and selected to 'off '.  I don't know what to do now.

I have a laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium.

I have noticed that at the same time (thinking maybe it's a coincidence) that I deleted Kasperskey and added Norton 360.

I had this problem on and outside because I had Windows Vista.  This happens not so often now that I have Windows 7.  That's what I'm doing... I open the "Windows Task Manager" by pressing "Ctrl + Alt + Delete" or by pressing 'Shift and Ctrl' keys together, then press "Esc".  Click on the "Processes" tab and "'explorer.exe". " Select it and click "End process" at the bottom.  The taskbar and the whole system tray will be gone, but it's OK.  You will return to the Windows Task Manager.  This time in the 'Applications' tab, click on the button "new task".  Type "explorer.exe".  The sound icons and battery power / will reappear.  I hope this helps.  =)

  • Printer icon stuck in the system tray.

I have the printer icon stuck in my system tray.  It will only display when it was actively printing a document.  Now, this is where all the time.  When I switch on it shows 1 document waiting, but when I click on "open all active documents print" it shows nothing.  I stopped and started several times print spooler.  There are no files in % SYSTEMROOT%\system32\spool\Printers. How can I get rid of this icon and the mystery waiting for document? The only printer I have is connected on a network and not directly to this computer.  This computer connects via cable and the computer with the HP printer connects to the same wireless network.

    Great salvation,

I suggest to remove and reinstall the HP printing software.

  • Update icon is missing from the system tray

    Salvation Windows XP experts,

My "Automatic Updates" is set on "download updates for me, but let me choose when to install them", but several times I don't get the icon in the system tray, and it is until I want to shud down my laptop when I get the message "click on disable to install important updates and turn off your computer. , and if I work on the batteries, I don't even get this message. Sometimes I change my setting "Notify Me but don't automatically download or install" hoping that icon will appear, but it's not.

Recently, I have been informed of the 2 updates to download and agreed, but they got downloaded the icon has disappeared... and when I lock my PC, I got this message because I have new updates have been installed, I clicked on the button "turn off". I was surprised when I saw him on the screen saying 1 of 1 updates is being intalled! I pressed the power button until it exploded and then restarted, it, went into the folder Windows to know he was installing the single update, is not one of the 2 updates that I accepted on! What a f * ing system?

What can I do to see what updates will be installed on my PC?

    Thank you

    z

    Hello

If I understand well, you have a little problem with the 'automatic update' - in particular with the notification in the system tray icon. The icon does not appear in the system status bar when updates are ready for instalation - does?

There is a similar but opposite problem - system "Auto update" displays the icon in the system tray – as they may be new updates installed, but the updated window does not update after clicking on the icon in the system tray:

    http://www.eggheadcafe.com/Microsoft/Windows-Update/29682120/Automatic-Update-icon-stay-on-system-tray.aspx

So, this has been resolved by removing the "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution" directory "C:\WINDOWS" folder

(before deletion was stopped the service "Windows update").

    What you can try:

    (1) this Fix IT (full reset Windows Update components - including registration of libraries, to rename files ...)

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058/en

    2) install the latest version of the Windows Update Agent (for good communication with the WWW of Windows update server)

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/949104/en

    3) only recommend - install the latest IE (IE8) (Select language)

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=43

    (4) this Microsoft Genuine Advantage diagnostic (I hope that will be the pages of the SITE in English)

    http://www.Microsoft.com/genuine/diag/

enable to download ActiveX and validate windows

I confess that I have not read previous answers (PA bear MS MVP) in detail, it is possible that you've already tried this. However, I tried this, if I had similar problems.

    Method 2:

Try to run the following command in administrator mode.

    (a) open a command prompt window, try the following steps:

    i. click on start > all programs.

    II. click on accessories.

III. right click on prompt and then click Run as administrator.

    (b) in the command prompt window, type the following commands and press ENTER:

  • Windows Update icon appear not to system tray when an update is available

Whenever my computer gets an update I see the update available in the off option but not in the system tray. What a way to turn it on? I get updates via WSUS.

It is likely in the corral of notification.  Next time you see the option off, display of the overlay alert icon, view by the clock and click the triangle to display hidden notifications.  Your Windows Update icon should be there, and you can drag it to the bottom to the toolbar set as a priority so that it is never hidden again.  Note that if there is no update to download or install, the icon will disappear as usual.

If it solves your problem, click on the link "Propose as answer" below and vote as useful by clicking on the green triangle for the lelft. Thank you!

  • How to enlarge the icons in the Windows 7 system tray

I managed to find my way to the dialog color and appearance of windows, but I don't see a way to change the size or font for the system tray. Task bar icons can be changed but not the system tray. This computer is running windows 7 Home premium 64-bit. Thank you.

If you hover the mouse over one by one, you will get a popup providing details of what they are.  You can also use the loupe tool located under all programs-> Accessories-> ease of access.  I don't know how just enlarge that part of the taskbar without affecting the entire screen.

I hope this helps.  Good luck.
  • The battery icon on Windows 7 laptop not displaying

Hello, I use a Sony Vaio with Windows 7 laptop. It worked fine until a few weeks ago when I installed a Windows Update. Since then, the battery in the taskbar icon has disappeared, and it alerts me when the power is low. The internet connection icon also shows permanently the 'No connection' icon, even if the internet works fine. I tried the steps here: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/01/01/fix-network-clock-volume-and-power-battery-system-icons-missing-with-disabled-or-grayed-out-check-box-options/ and here: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7performance/thread/b8ee8d72-4a59-433f-be04-70fd39e1ef88 but nothing works. When I go to the properties of the status bar, the option to activate the battery icon or off is grayed out. Here's what it looks like: http://img842.imageshack.us/i/batteryr.png/ the tray looks like this: http://img600.imageshack.us/i/tray.png/ any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • Volume icon disappeared from my system tray, and the option is grayed out (don't let me check it out) in the taskbar and start menu properties screen /Notification

I don't know how to recover my volume icon - can anyone help?  Thank you!

    Hello

If one of the system icons is out, you can reactivate the as follows:

Right-click on the taskbar and select Properties. This will bring up the tab "properties of menu taskbar and start. It's where you mentioned, it is gray. It is very well...  From there, you can click on Customize button in the icon section. Look for the icon that you are missing, and check the status. The type of report should read "Hide icon and notifications", change that to "Show icon and notifications".

If this does not resolve the issue most likely you have a problem with group policy on your machine. This can be corrected by following the instructions on the following link:
