Power button blinks orange Dimension 5000

I was using my Dimension 5000 when it stopped unexpectedly. The power button is now flashing orange unless I have press and hold when it does not. By pressing once again does not produce light flashes. I have an important work on what I need to transfer to my laptop so if anyone can help me, I would be very grateful.

    any suggestions?

    Hello

It seems that there is a hardware failure.
The flashing LED provides a microcode of dysfunction. The short flashing 0 flashing medium-long and 1.
The full code can be read by a maintenance technician, and the reason for the failure could be found very easily.

But before you contact the ASP in your country, I recommend trying the suggestion given by Robin.
Remove the battery and unplug the AC of the laptop. Then wait a little (15-20 min) and then connect everything again. Then check if the laptop starts.

Here is the troubleshooting guide for the Studio XPS 8100 It may not be very useful, but a flashing amber light would indicate that you still having the problem of internal power source. Since you've already tried another power supply that would indicate a possible motherboard failure.

  • Power button blinks T420 during shutdown

Hi guys, I just got a refurbished T420 runs 10 Windows on a SSD, and it seems to work well.

Just a question. The green light flashes 11 times while she stops, and there is also a short beep. Is this normal, and if not, what does that mean? However if the restart (in the power menu) it does not blink or make a beep.

    Thanks in advance.

Did some research on the quick commissioning. If what I found, it's true, windows does by saving an image of the Windows kernel and loaded drivers on the hiberfile (C:\hiberfil.sys) on stop so when you restart your PC, Windows loads just the hiberfile (C:\hiberfil.sys) in memory to take back your PC instead of restarting it. This could be the reason for which only the power LED flashes and a beep. I noticed that when the power led is flashing, the hdisk indicator flashes like writing a file somewhere and will beep when finished. But positive step is logical.

FYI, the login screen power off is 15.6 seconds and input of password Full saturated office another 16 seconds. He takes over software antivirus and malware.

Lots of good info on this forum.

  • HP Deskjet F4280: power button flashes f4280 error

I just replaced the two cartrigades of ink. Now it gives me the letter E of the number of copy of task and the power button blinks green. It will not print and I removed the device and reinstalled, off the and disconnected. Still nothing has changed. Can someone help me with this problem? Please, I beg you.

It seems that the printer can be stuck to the execution of a maintenance task, according to this: LINK

I would make sure that the front access door and the cartridge access door are securely closed, or perform a hard reset. These steps are part of the Solution to the "issue: the power LED flashes" section.

If these steps do not erase the error, you can contact HP technical support. Please let me know if it helps.

  • HP Pavilion DV7 laptop: Touchpad, sometimes active, even when the power button is pressed on off (light orange)

I use a wireless mouse (or a wired mouse) preferably instead of the touchpad.   The touchpad has a power button to press - white light indicates on and off Orange light.    After booting, I usually disable the touchpad and mouse wireless, however, sometimes when you type I realize my palms are contacting the touchpad and the cursor jumps around accordingly.    The touchpad is disabled (orange light) but I can control it with a finger, it works like its supposed to as if it is enabled.     Any ideas?   I have not downloaded a driver updated or do anything to try to solve this problem, as I fear, it could actually cause other problems.

Update the driver it is the usual Council for problems - that is the solution here?   Has anyone else had a similar problem.    Most of the touch pad problems I've read is in regards to an erratic touchpad - nothing to do with 'on' or 'off' problems.

    HI @WayneCM,

Thank you for your inquiry. I will do my best to help you!

I understand that you use the power button / stop to turn off the touchpad.  Sometimes, you will notice that your palm is in contact with it and the cursor is accordingly jump around but the rest light orange, to show that he has disabled.  Here is a link for HP Notebook PCs - using the touchpad and ClickPad (Windows 10). Please review the section on "Open the properties of the ClickPad" in figure 4, you'll see there's a button where you can disable the touchpad, until you want to reactivate it. Please let me know if this helped.

  • Replacement of power SUPPLY Dell Dimension 5000 block

Hi - I have a Dell Dimension 5000 (around 2005) with a duff ATX PSU.

Dell p/n is CN-OC5201-17972-51R-1CNV and the model # is N305P-00

I looked on this forum and the recommended not only equivalent Dell PSU (Antec TRUEPOWERII IPTI-430 430W ATX12V 2.01 Power Supply) does not seem to be available (UK).

Does anyone know of a compatible brand/model power supply that I can replace my diet duff with or where I can get a direct replacement from DELL for a reasonable price?

I think my power supply DELL has these connectors:

P1 - power of card mother ATX 24-pin
    P2 - 4 motherboard power PIN
    P3 - 4 SATA connector
    P5 - Ditto
    P7 - connector floppy 4pin
    P8 - 4 Molex power connector pin
    P9 - Ditto

    Any help would be appreciated...

    Thank you

  • Tecra M2 does not start - the power light AC blinking orange

Someone at - it a list of codes for the Tecra M2 flash.
My friend has a laptop that does not start at the top. the AC power LED flashes orange. a long, short, long, short, long, short, long, short.

I checked the battery and reinstall the RAM.
    Any IDE?

    Hello

    I agree with go.
The ASP would be able to tell what means error.

Usually means short and 1 long: 0
So the error must be: 1010 1010
Due to the last significant bit (LSB), to be read by behind:
    So it now means: * 0101 0101 binary *-> it must be converted to hexadecimal-> * 55 Hex *.

Then, you will get a hex code.
But unfortunately, I m not very well which could mean this code

    So ask ASP for help!

  • Z820 - button Power LED blinks 4 times (red) with beep... bad card (Quadro 4000) graphics?

    Hello

My Z820 at the office is suddenly having a few hardware malfunction.

When I turn on my machine, the PSU/system fans don't rev and the Power LED button flashes red with a beep 4 times.

According to this page of troubleshooting, this indicates a faulty PSU on the new UEFI computers:

HP desktop - computer does not start and emits a LED or a beep Code

Section "code beep and LED descriptions.

Get the exact model of LED as the example of "power failure".

Then, I got a new power supply replacement. I still have the exact same model LED and beeps...

So, I have drawn deeper and found that when I removed the Quadro 4000 card graphics and then put on my machine, the power button LED is lit in blue (led code ' computer-S0 (normal operation) "") and all the normal spin fans.

The Quadro card seems to be the culprit...

Unfortunately, I have no alternative graphic card laying to verify this around, I'm waiting for a replacement of the graphics card (via HP service) to arrive tomorrow.

Is it possible that the power LED button code (4 times red with beep...) has nothing to do with a bad power supply and that my Quadro is bad?

    Dries

Dry... that Z820 has been giving you headaches.

Many fault codes have not changed since the previous workstatons.  I hit this series of beeps of error in the past, and often doesn't mean that the power supply itself is the cause.  It can be a hardware device to the bottom of the chain causing a power surge to power, triggering his "crowbar circuit: fault protection

    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/crowbar _ (circuit)

Here are the instructions to deal with this series of beeps of a previous HP xw technical and repair.  Note the number 2 in the troubleshooting instructions... usually you don't have to go down to 3, in my experience.  I think that you have already found the faulty unit:

    Loss of power.
    1. open the access panel and make sure that the power cable is properly
    connected to the system board.
    2. Locate the faulty device by removing all devices and then reinstalling one at a time
until the workstation fails. Replace the device at the origin of the failure. Continue to add
devices to make sure that everything works correctly.
    3. check the power supply feature.
    a. turn off the AC power.
    b. remove all cables internal power on the system board.
    c. connect the power supply.
    ● If the power supply fan turns and the BIST LED lights, then the
power supply is good. Replace the motherboard.
    ● If the power supply fan does not turn or the BIST LED does not
light up, replace the power supply.

  • Dell Dimension 5000 replacement PSU

I have a Dell Dimension 5000 bought in 2005, still under Windows XP.

After being off for a week, I recently tried it lights up, but got only a flashing orange power button. After reading this thread I tried to jump the power supply to the power connector motherboard from green to black as suggested, and nothing lit. So I guess that the PSU is dead and must be replaced.

I also read this thread a person with a similar problem.  My power supply model number is L305P-00 and reference number 5032 (CN - 0d 5032-71615-513-06BE), exit 305 w, and it has a connector ATX 24, 2 SATA connectors, etc..

I'm hoping to replace the PC soon, so don't want to spend too much on the power supply. Corsair were recommended as a good brand, but they are quite expensive, so I was wondering if this PSU Novatech would be suitable? I think they're a renowned brand. They sell as well others and I don't know what the difference between each one, apart from the power and the fact that some are not modular, other semi or fully modular.

The Novatech £19.99 would be good enough to get my PC up and running again, or that others would recommend?

    TOBYDENNIS

Dimension 5000 does not use a power supply owner Dell, most of the blocks of ATX power supply with a 24 pins, power connector 4-pin main card mother 20 + or with, or can be used without the power switch, a power supply with two SATA and molex power two connectors 4 pin is necessary.

You should be able to buy a replacement power in a store of the local computer or online.

The Novatech 500W ATX Power Supply, as shown in your link should work...
