  Here is the troubleshooting guide for the Studio XPS 8100 It may not be very useful, but a flashing amber light would indicate that you still having the problem of internal power source. Since you've already tried another power supply that would indicate a possible motherboard failure.

  My Z820 at the office is suddenly having a few hardware malfunction.

  When I turn on my machine, the PSU/system fans don't rev and the Power LED button flashes red with a beep 4 times.

  Dry... that Z820 has been giving you headaches.

  Here are the instructions to deal with this series of beeps of a previous HP xw technical and repair.  Note the number 2 in the troubleshooting instructions... usually you don't have to go down to 3, in my experience.  I think that you have already found the faulty unit:

  This PC has worked flawlessly for some time without problem.  I have installed a licensed version of Windows 7 from MS Technet and everything seemed to be good.  Actively during the use of the PC, it went completely dark.  The power button started alternating blue and yellow flashing.   I had the same problem. When you press the power button, the blue power led for half a second and started to blink orange/blue. The only way to reset this behavior was to remove the power cord for one minute. The problem started intermittently and as time passed, it was worse. Until today where I have never been able to start. I finally found the problem. It was a power supply problem. I opened the power supply to find 5 capacitors were bulging. I'd say it's probably normal because this PC was purshased in verse 2005 (8 years). I replaced 5 capacitors (total $ 5) and it works like new. Hope this helps other people with the same problem.

  Normally 5 beeps means there is a problem with the memory.

  I suggest that you remove and reinstall the memory modules and blow up if this doesn't fix the problem, if your PC has two memory modules, an and see if the beep disappears.

  If this is the case, remove this module and specify the first condition in you removed and if the beep begins once again find the defective memory chip.

  If it is not, remove the module and put the other in you deleted and if the ringing stops, you have found the faulty memory chip.

  Then replace the faulty memory module by one with the same specifications.

  It seems you damaged or done something wrong during the disassembly procedure may be a connection problem?
  I guess the power button has worked correctly until you have removed the case and disassembled the laptop. Right?

  Default value is always active and blue color and turns red when the unit is turned off
  Mode 1 = is always on and lights up green when the unit is on standby.
  Mode 2 = is always on and turns different colors during standby
  Mode 3 = led power rollers by means of various colors and green during sleep.
  OFF = power LED remains off.

  I'm not quite sure what could cause this exactly, but in most cases the dust inside the fans affects cooling performance and lead to a temperature higher than m.

  Higher temperatures could affect the RAM modules too, and perhaps that is the reason why some applications don't work properly.

  Ive got a G2 HP 470 here with a weird problem, whenever stop you the laptop, you see windows stops, and then the screen goes black (full black, as when it is turned off) but the power button (white) and a orange led near the AC connector Flash like for 10 seconds before the laptop shuts down completely.

  I've updated all the drivers and BIOS.  but without success...

  Battery removed etc, but also without success...

  Someone knows how to fix this or is something broken?

  Try disabling the startup of Windows 10 hybrid - you can do the following.

  Open settings and select System.  Select food and sleep, and then click additional power settings - in the next window, click on "Choose what the power button" in the left pane.
