Power supply helps.

HI, I am looking to update my video card on my hp pavilion p7-1003w,

My specs are:

AMD Athlon II X 4 650: 3.2 ghz

8 GB of ram

250W PSU

Motherboard for N-Alvorix-RS880-formfat (Alvorix) .
Windows 7 64-bit,

ATI Radeon 4200

But I met some power problems with my motherboard.

When I plug in a new power supply they have NEVER the '4' 'pu521' adaptor for my motherboard.

my new graphics card is a "Radeon HD 6670'

If someone could tell me a sufficient power supply, that would be great,

Hello Conner, I'm not a professional at all, not even close. I have 25 years and more cheating on her with these machines, perhaps a professional fool to fool with these machines. but we all need something to do in life.

The Antec, Corsair, OCZ and a few other feeds are very good quality power supplies.

When I suggested to stay away the lower cost ones, I meant those that cost like $19.99 - $29.99 or other similar costs in this range. There are a few low-cost power supplies out there who have some good reviews, but food is the most important in a computer, since everything in the computer runs power off from the power supply.

I always look at the reviews of others to get an idea of what other people have to say and the Antec page linked to over 500 positive feedback. It is a very unusual number, almost everyone who bought this power supply was happy with it.

I used the Antec years products and have never had a problem with their products.

  • Replacement power supply help

I have a computer d4100e Pavilion. I'm going to replace my video card (fan starts giving me intermittent problems). The new map will require probably more power (I'll add more video memory, etc.)., so I'll need t replace my current power supply 400W.

The problem will be to find one that fits the case. My current PS is a model LITEON PS-6401-08HT (HP P/M 5188-0127).

The dimensions are: 5 3/8 "long (front to back), 5 7/8" wide, height 3 3/8 ". Width and height are constarined by the case of sheet metal. The length is limited by the clichés of spring who want to keep the PS to slide in the case of the abduction, but I could probably accommodate a PS liked if I left the springs press against the side of the PS (essentially making them non-functional.

Can you recomment a replacement PS, 600W preference or optics, which fits my dimensional constraints (including the screw holes on the back)? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

  • HP M9340f and Power Supply Upgrade graphics card

    HP dear community,

I read some of the forums on the upgrade of the 9500gs it's an old graphics used for the HP M9340f. It's been 4 years now and the computer still works very well. I need advice for the upgrade on the graphics card.

    My specs are: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01465973

I know that there a 350W power supply. I am worried because the 9500gs video card has a connector that is powered from the motherboard, it has 2 pins (black and white wire). I read about the update for the ATI HD 5670 Nvidia 440 or 450. I know it is very old, but the 9500gs is still able to run modern games.

The recommendations would work due to the connector 2 pin?

Upgrading power supply help, because I think the video card is to select the power supply to the motherboard and not directly from the power supply.  I'm still confused on what the black and white wire, it is connected to the video card.

I don't mind getting a greater electric power because I can get a better card. Just concerned with the black and white wire.

I also read here that this person was able to exchange his power supply and graphics card for a gtx 560 ti and a 550W power supply. Its model is newer than mine. http://www.tested.com/forums/PC-and-Mac/8692-seeking-upgrading-graphic-cardnew-computer-advise/?&p=1

    I am really limited?

    Thank you

    Abe

    Swarl3s,

    We will divide your questions.

    (1) black/white is audio Spdif. Asus Nvidia supports a S-video port, audio is provided by the additional wiring.

Now that the concern you had as answered (the whitw/black wiring), Let's proceed to the card.

    (2) what are your expectations of game? WOW, Diablo 3. Each has a recommended graphics card and each graphics card recommended the power of the power supply. Always add a tolerance.

Regarding the GTX560Ti and a combination of 550W PSU, I see no problem. Then again, see here for more information and suggestions.

So I think to him substituting a CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V and my question is; This power will be back in my case correctly or I have to go with an another 650W PSU? Can anyone here advice me what to do?

Yes, I thought that I have really don't have a 650W power supply if I want a single power graphics card Nvidia 460GTX. And more I'm low on cash at the moment so the ROSWELL PSU fits in my budget. Thanks for your help, and I'll post again if I met more problems.

  • Need help for upgrade R2 of Alienware x 51: card graphics, RAM, power supply

Hi, about a year ago, I purchased the Alienware R2 x 51, and I want to improve.

Im a bit new to this so I need help, so I came on the forums.

Current form (these are the parts I want to improve):

    GeForce® GTX 745 with 4 GB of DDR3 memory

3.4 GHz Intel Core i7-4770 processor

    8 GB OF DDR3 MEMORY

You want to upgrade to these parts:

    GTX 960

    16 GB OF DDR3 MEMORY

    I'm not sure things:

-I don't know if I currently have a 330w power, I heard say that because I have the R2 version of the x 51 Alienware, I 330w power (but I'm not sure so if someone can help with this, or tell me how do I know if I have a 330w PSU)

-Ive seen someone use this card with his alienware x 51 and it worked perfectly and I was wondering if it would work with my alienware too

    www.Amazon.com/.../Ref=sr_1_5, qid = 1437994445 & sr = 8-5 & keywords = gtx + 960 + msi

    • This card will fit in my alienware x 51?
    • It will run smoothly?

-Last thing is I need help with the ram, I want to buy two 8 GB sticks and replace them with two 4 GB ones I currently have. I'm not sure which RAM should I get (if someone can help with this and leave a link) which is compatible with my x 51 alienware.

If you had something but the 645 GTX, GTX 745 or GTX 750 ti, you 330w POWER supply. The PSU is determined by what GPU, you, you no what revision. If you want to upgrade to the GTX 960 (the one you accessed is good), you must supply 330w (what I describe as a big black brick with an oval green LED). You probably have the 240w.

Most desktop DDR3 RAM should work with the X 51. Some will not be because they do not match (heat sink (?) too thick and rounded).

  • Please help me with the video card and power supply issues!

Hello and thanks in advance for any help. I'll try and do a short explanation, but I can't promise anything. I bought an a6620f Pavilion about 2 months ago I didn't know that you had to purchase a special hardware in order to play video games. In any case, I bought about 300.00 worth of new video games and none of them works. they say because of my video card. Then try to buy a new video card and it won't work because I only have a 250 watt power supply. I spoke with a hp technician before you buy a PSU and I was told that my motherboard was only designed to use a 300 watt max power I tried to buy one at best buy and the clerk said 4500 is the smallest they sell. and I need at least a 400 Watt or powerrsupply to make the new video card with a value of buyiong. My questuion is what can I do if I can't buy one more big power supply how can I install a new video casrd? Please help me I'm lost

Oh and in case you want some specs on my system here are a few

Windows Vista Home premium service pack1

    Hi chefinomaha,

Sorry to hear about your frustration. Here's some good news.

I think you have been misinformed or there was a communication error. Your motherboard should not be limited to the only 300W. I don't know with certainty how high you can go in watts, but you can go higher and should go higher, if you add a video card.

The important thing is to get the right kind of diet that fits your connectors.

    Here's your motherboard page.

Here is a document with step-by-step instructions and video for adding a video card.

Here is a document with the video to replace the power supply.

OK, so I have a Pavilion HPE-310 t, (MS-7613 (Iona-GL8E) motherboard) and I want to replace the original PSU (300 watt) for a 500 watt so I can install a better video card. I looked at the harness and they look like I can put in a general diet something like this:

If im wondering if the gneral supplies will fix the case... Thank you very much

Yes, the Thermaltake TR2 500W ATX12V power supply you linked to should fit in your computer case. Also consider the Corsair CX500 and CX600. Two of these power supplies are highly recommended and are known to fit in many cases of HP computer.

  • HP ENVY 700-527c: upgrading of power supply and graphics card, need help

You just bought a NVIDIA - GeForce GTX 970 4 GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Graphics Card - silver/black for my HP ENVY, but the food I have in my computer does not support this graphics card. So I was wondering if I bought the Black Corsair - CX series modular CX750M 750W ATX Power Supply - if it could fit in my computer and function properly with the graphics card and all the rest of the computer.

Almost thought you made a mistake, but you do not have BIOS rev 8 because this unit originally comes with WIN 8. The GTX 970 attracts only 145W. Corsair CX750M is3.39"x 5.91"x 6.30".  It is profoundly in your case, without connectors.   You have so much room between the existing power supply and connectors for DVD?  NVidia recommends a 500W, I would say the 600W modular version.   Its depth is 5.51 ".
