Powercfg /batteryreport question

Hi all...

I'm trying to run the command 'powercfg /batteryreport' on my system (HP Probook s 4540, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit), but it keeps returning error "invalid parameters". When I run the command "powercfg /?", the output is cut short, so I can only see the commands that start with 'c' down. Now, I tried this also on 3 other systems running windows 7 and had the same error... But it works very well on windows 8 PC...

Any help would be so appreciated.

redirection (>) to a text file and to see all the exits to open it.

instead of "powercfg /?'make' powercfg/?" " >filename_of_your_choice.txt"

Once the order is completed, browse to the file in Explorer and open the file and read it.

But I do not see batteryreport in the file. Maybe it's a setting "W8"? Maybe -energy who's here?

Just to let you know all I found the registry key to disable the standby connected. So you can all stop rage and take a sigh of relief.

    Reach:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power. There is a DWORD value called "CsEnabled" that you should find the value 1 and change to 0 will turn standby connected power off.

I have a Surface Pro 3 and can confirm that since making the change in my battery life has improved considerably. Also on the battery meter, before he just showed the remaining percentage, but now it shows the time remaining (for example 8 hours, 30 minutes) as well.

The only drawback to it is when I close the type of cover and re - open, the logo (logo windows normally blue) surface appears and performs the old style wake up from its sleep. Of course this should not be a problem for some of you so as most laptops normally do...

Already when I opened the hood, the screen will come back and I'll be back at my desk (or metro app, no matter what either was last opened) just like before - similar to press the lock and turned off on an iPad, tablet or by phone.

I hope this helps all the world all that. Please like and mark as solution if it solves your problem :D

  • 10 windows on Portege R600 - my experience

The Toshiba Portégé R600 is an older laptop which is official supported by Toshiba for Windows Vista, XP (downgrade), and Windows 7. But it appears to perform reasonably well 10 64-bit Windows. There's a thing I have with build Windows 10 Insider Preview 10074. She stops booting, with circular points from their round forever. (bootlog mode will show the reason)

What you do is boot in safe mode. Disabled the second entry for the graphic card in Device Manager. Windows starts normally. I hope that I can get with Microsoft to fix this stupid bug.

I don't know how this will affect build upgrades in the future.

    Other things of maintenance:

The thermal grease for the graphics card becomes a heat insulating powder useless over time. This will appear as a graphical corruption on the screen, short lines that will show the strange colors. If you open the laptop (Tip: bin for the screws), slide it gently open and cables sheet, there is a yellow sink on the back side. The white heat pinkish dough will collapse right away. For the moment, I redid with a Coolermaster thermal grease, but I think this will give the same problem later. Maybe I'll get myself some K5 - Pro, as this seems to be a silicone rubber which is more sticky without being a glue. And it should be replaced the torn thermal pad on the CPU too. Although a shim copper could work there too.

Notice of Windows troubleshooting will tell you there are drivers available, with links to download and install them manually. Do not use them, because they are Windows Vista drivers. It won't destroy anything, but they have some quirks. Simply download drivers 64 bit of Windows 7 on the Toshiba site.

It can accommodate 4 GB of RAM, bringing the total up to 5 GB. It can take memory is either labelled PC2 800 MHz or DDR2 6400.

A Corsair SSD BX100 works very well in it. But the disk controller is only SATA 2.0, so you will get half the speeds you will see benchmarked elsewhere. Don't forget device initiated Power Management (DIPM) enabled, as the BX100 falling to 250mAh to ~ 50mAh in this mode.

'VAT package' for Windows 8 64 bit for the Toshiba R700 will bring back most of the hotkey features. Unfortunately, this breaks the brightness control buttons, but you can adjust the brightness elsewhere. With this driver package, the pure Transflective mode works again.

Someone put up a "feature pack" for graphics drivers, which brings superior versions of OpenGL that have been supported by Intel on Windows 7 driver and earlier versions. And it installs the program in the task bar that allows you to control the graphics settings. That said, those that have been deleted for some reason (e.g. bugs), YMMV Yes. The video acceleration of h.264/AVC, through DXVA works even without this "feature pack".

I have not found an ALPS touchpad driver who survives on standby. Without the driver for the touchpad, it is just a touch pad without scrolling on the right side area. It works, but it would be nice to be able to scroll.

If you think your system is very slow, maybe check the BIOS [ESC then F1] on the second page [Fn + SHIFT + 9] if everything is set for maximum performance. The lower settings are there for the older operating systems that have no power which is own management (BACK). It will put the CPU in gas mode where it's the departure 50% of the time.

The battery life is of the order of the 4h30m with a new battery, according to 'powercfg /batteryreport '. Mine is a little older and will hit 4 hours. Something like 5 in the save mode [Fn + F2] Toshiba power.

Thank you very much for your report detailed on Win10 on Portege R60.

  • HP Pavilion PC 2 x removable: PC HP Pavilion x 2 removable - battery when in Sleep Mode Work-Around

After a lot of research, trial and error and re-trial... Here is my proposed solution for those who like me have tired of having the X 2 die on them while you sleep!

Option 1 - Activate put into hibernation

Basically, this will disable Windows 10 'connected standby' feature in which the Tablet is supposed to go into a deep 'Riks' sleep while still being somehow able to keep control of e-mails and other things in the background. The problem is that, because many drivers (such as the Intel ESS Audio Device (WDM)) do not seem to have been implemented for the x 2 on windows 10, then the Tablet continues to drain energy.

The solution is to go back to the good old "Hibernate" feature. It will take a few seconds longer for the x 2 to return to normal mode and cost about 700 MB of disk space that is used by the hyberfil to temporarily store data of RAM memory. The x 2 will be generally enter hybernation 5-10 minutes after sleep, but you can set the type below.

    To enable the hibernation

Go to control Panel\All Control PanelPower Options\Edit Plan parameters Items\

    Open "change advanced power settings".

Expand the subtopic 'Sleep' , and under 'on battery' select Hibernate.

If you get stuck - more detailed instructions can be found here: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2859-hibernate-enable-disable-windows-10-a.html

Option 2 - persevere with sleep "connected standby".

Unfortunately in my experience, it is only frustration and disappointment, but you can try to identify what prevents your 2 x to enter sleep and disabling / updated drivers to see if that helps. To help you in this quest, you have the following which must be run as an administrator.

Press the Windows key + X and click to open the command (as admin) window

Paste it below and press ENTER to execute

    powercfg /batteryreport
    powercfg-energy
    Powercfg.exe SleepStudy

Open c:/Windows/System32 and search for files

    sleepstudy - report.html

    energy - report.html

    battery - report.html

More information on the interpretation of the results can be found here: http://www.hanselman.com/blog/PowerCfgTheHiddenEnergyAndBatteryToolForWindowsYoureNotUsing.aspx

  • E1-510: battery problem

Hello, I have an Acer Aspire E1 - 510 Notebook (Intel Quad Core N3520 2.16 GHz, 4 GB RAM, 1 TB of HARD drive). I am a student and I use my laptop on battery 2 or 3 times a week when I'm at my University (I'm a computer SCIENCE student). I bought my laptop in may 2014. The laptop has a battery of mWh SANYO PABAS0241231 37. Recently, the full load capacity started to fall to 33-35 mWh. I have attached the report generated by Windows 8.1 battery. My warranty is over battery (it was 6 months). This is a Windows problem or is it a battery related problem? Also, if I keep my laptop plugged in even when the battery is 'full charge' will it affect my battery life (AFAIK new laptops have smart batteries that do not charge when they are fully charged, basically, they report that they are fully charged and my laptop using the AC/DC source exclusively)? Please excuse any language related errors because English is not my mother tongue. Thank you in advance for your help!

Here's the report generated by execution: ' powercfg - batteryreport "in a cmd not high:

    Hello
According to the report, I see that there is a decline in quality & more I also find taking bit longer to fully charge battery. I would contact Acer for a replacement of the battery.

  • Touch of Windows 8 Power Plan vs Lenovo Ideapad S510

I received a message from battery replacement on my still "under warranty" Lenovo ideapad. Lenovo customer support reported that the Power Plan microsoft software generated the message.

They worked remotely with my laptop.  Deleted the latest version of the plan of power and reinstalled several times, given the message of battery replacement.  Put the windows power management 7 and my computer does not but still the same message.  They eventually remove the software completely, power plan saying that it was the problem.

Is it possible for Windows Power Plan software enter into conflict with the system of Lenovo to give false to replace your battery warnings?  Seems incomplete, BUT I'm certainly not a guru of the pc.  Advice?

    Thank you.

    Ginny

Your link works fine, but the report is corrupt.  When you run powercfg /batteryreport it says the file is saved in the c:\windows\system32 and is called report.html battery.

You must download this file (as is the case) and put a link to that.  You should be able to open it yourself by double clicking it (it will open in your browser)

  • WHY IS MY BATTERY REPORT DOES RUN?

Yesterday, I was about to run the command prompt and run powercfg /batteryreport and he put a report on the disk but I was unable to open the report using browsers.

    Today, the report was GONE.

When I try to repeat what I did yesterday and run cmd.exe (in admin mode) and type powercfg /batteryreport it says it is unable to do and that I may not have permissions!

    WTF?

Yesterday it worked, it is not today.

    How can I fix?

So much worse... my stupid mistake :(

    I had it's going ok.

You don't have to move or copy the HTML out of the System32 directory report, or you cannot open it in ANY browser. It seems very strange that they put the report in a directory with restrictions that you could open the .html file in a browser... but they did.

In any case, the problem is resolved.

    Thanks for responding.

  • Dell place 8 Pro 3G - Sleep / Wake Up questions

    Hello

A few days ago I bought the Dell coming Pro 8 3 G tablet. I have all available Windows Updates, latest drivers and BIOS of 'My Dell'. Unfortunately, my Tablet has some problems with the mode 'sleep'.

    1. only the 'Stop' and 'Restart' options are available in the drop-down list on 'Power' in the charming bar. 'Sleep' is not available and I can not turn off the screen by pressing the power button / stop on the right side of the tablet. I did a few tests using the powercfg command-line tool and I found, the driver mobile (or hardware) prevents the past in standby mode: if I disable the driver, I can put my device in mode 'sleep' without any problem.

    Mobile broadband driver:

Dell 5570e Wireless HSPA + (42mbps network) Mobile Broadband Card #4
    Date: July 9, 2014
    Version: 14.7.1050.64

    2. to wake up to the top of the device to sleep mode does not work if you do this after the first 10 seconds in mode 'sleep'.

When I disable WiFi driver in Device Manager, clock works well, even a few hours after the mode 'sleep' was launched.

    WiFi pilot:

    Dell 1538 wireless 802.11 a/g/n adapter.
    Date: July 4, 2014
    Version: 3.7.2.59655

I don't know if these questions are based on the hardware or driver/software based.

    Everyone knows about similar problems?

    Kind regards

    Dominik

Hello, I had the same problem and I tried all drivers update possible solution (reformatting my Tablet 6 times), the update of windows files, etc... Nothing helps. In the end, I found a similar problem for a Dell location 11 Pro user who suggests to turn off the TPM and Bitlocker. As soon as I disabled it Win8 table bitlocker and TPM/Bitlocker from the Bios (Secure boot - disabled), the Tablet began to wake from sleep with no problems... it's been 1 week now and it has not failed once (it allows to get a black 3 - 4 times per day before the change of the screen).

  • Question of cloning for SSD upgrade on 12 Macbook Pro

Previously, I did an upgrade to SSD on my Macbook Air to 2012 according to the instructions of JetDrive transcend. Basically connection via USB 3 and using Mac OS X to clear (and format) disc utilities new SSD, then restore again SSD and then remove the original 128 GB SSD and insert the new 480 GB SSD.  For about a month and so far without problem.

Now I'm trying to 2012 Macbook upgrade my Pro partner (on 10.11.6).  I got a Crucial SSD MX300 to replace his HARD drive.  Crucial comes with (or recommend) Acronis software.  And a lot of the messages of the forum recommend Carbon Copy Clone.

Same question perhaps for music. Some of my songs have been bought before the latest Apple codecs.

    Any help is appreciated!

    THX!

Once you have made a purchase on the iTunes store, you will see your purchased items in the menu under accounts bar > bought. You can simply select the item purchased and re-upload.

With regard to the resolution of the film for films that are offered, and you select the resolution, you can download it again and select a different resolution. For movies that are available as separate download to SD, 780, or 1080 points, you would be limited to the original resolution you selected.
