Greetings.

When I try to open a presentation (which was created 2 years ago) in PowerPoint 2003 I get an error: PowerPoint found unreadable content in Presentation.pptx.

How to fix PowerPoint file?

Hi Bernar324
Try the following steps: right-click on the pptx file name, and then select PROPERTIES. On this dialog box, see you that a button labeled UNBLOCK, click it and then press OK. Now, the file opens. Otherwise, try Recovery Toolbox for PowerPoint https://powerpoint.recoverytoolbox.com/ special program

Hope this helps to solutions.

I have the 2007 version, but I don't think it makes much difference in this case.

First, get an audio free converter, edit your MP3 file to WAV format.
Open your PowerPoint 2003 > Sound (not the movie) > sound file > locate the WAV file > insert (or open) > follow the prompts then.

    Hi Fishbreath,

    a. you did the changes to your computer recently?
    b. Since when are you facing this problem?

I suggest to perform the clean boot on your computer and check.

From your computer by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs so that you can determine if a background program is interfering with your game or program. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot".

To perform a clean boot on a computer, follow these steps.

    1. click on start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.

    2. in the general tab, click Selective startup.
    3. under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.
    4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.
    5. click on OK.
    6. When you are prompted, click on restart.
    7. after the computer starts, check if the problem is resolved.

Please follow the system in the boot environment. If the problem does not occur, it indicates that the problem is related to an application or a service, we have disabled. You can use the MSCONFIG tool again to reactivate the disabled one by one element to find the culprit.

If your issue is resolved, follow the how to determine what is causing the problem section in KB article to narrow down the exact source.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796 . In addition, see the section on how to restore your computer to a Normal startup mode.

This problem can occur for different reasons. However, the following reasons are the most common:

    • Already, you have the service pack installed and do not realize it.
    • You must install another update before you install the service pack.
    • You have not installed Service Pack 1 (SP1) and so you are not offered the option to install the Service Pack 2 (SP2). SP2 requires that you have installed SP1.
    • Components of the system that you must have to install the service pack are not installed on your computer.
    • You have a piece of hardware or software on your computer that is listed in the section "hardware and software which if present will result in Windows Update and automatic updates offers is not a service pack " article.
    • You have installed a preliminary version of a service pack, and it was not properly uninstalled before that you tried to install the final version of the service pack
