Predator G3620 - USB CD boot?

I have an AG3620-TFUR12 predator, just bought a week ago.  I had a couple of random reboots and decided to test my RAM with memtest86 +, but was unable to boot from USB or CD.  After some research, I found that probably has to do with the Cree last UEFI stuff, but I can't know exactly what to disable it in EFI/BIOS settings for the computer boot from USB.

  • Whenever I try to pick different boot devices, it still fails to find anything except the hard drive, even with a bootable CD and USB drive availabe.
  • I tried to disable SecureBoot so.  In addition to increasing startup time to 4-5 minutes main boot screen, it has yet to find bootable devices.
  • The CD and the flash player appear in Win8 very well.

Someone at - it experience with this machine or a similar model (I assume that similar models will have the same BIOS)?  Also, anyone who knows the random reboots or RAM problems?

I thought about it.

On the AG3620-TFUR12 mobos there is an option called "heritage OPROM."  I had to do some research to understand what is OpROM.  It turns out it's a UEFI feature that follows the old BIOS protocals, so that the devices are compatible.  Once I allowed him (it has been disabled by default) all started very well.

I'll take the time to research UEFI and everything he does.  There is a website dedicated to the it - http://www.uefi.org

This thread can be closed now.  However, if anyone has similar issues to boot, please Private message me.

    Hi aleksi134,

Acer doesn't support or benefit from upgrades of part 3. That said, my personal opinion is that you'll want to check the size of the map, but it seems that the 960 will work according to the specifications which I'm going to the link below.

  • Can predator G3620 - you help pass the LITEONIT LCS - 128M6S ATA Device?

The LITEONIT LCS - 128M6S ATA Device is disk system (drive c) 128 GB of my predator G3620.

This disk is much too small, that much information is automatically stored on this drive with no possibility for me to intervene.

That's why I want a larger version of this player, and I know that it is available on the market. I just want to be sure my predator G3620 can manage either of these versions, 256 GB, or 512. I have the hardware to clone the drive.

Can anyone here guide me to what I would do in this context?

If I can't develop my system this way, then I might have to buy another brand.

You can choose whatever you want the first FSD 3 listed.

  • Acer Predator G3620 does not start / has stopped working

Hey, I got this computer from a friend who does not need it more. I have not had a true PC in 6 years. Always used a laptop with Linux, do not have a Windows operating system from 7. (I don't know no * beep * about material things) So, I got it home, bootet and everything works fine. A ran a few points of reference for the video card, checked if everything was ok. He had installed Win8.1. His former * beep * is all the more this thing, so any format / install Win10!

I started the installation of Win10 in Win8.1 because it is somehow, he would not start the USB at the start. If something copied PC, I cancelled it bacause I couldn't choose my language and I tried to boot from USB again, but it did not work. So I hold the Power button until the coils of PC, press again and nothing. (The USB stick with Win10 works fine, used to install Win10 on my computer laptop girls last week.)

No output display, no Acer Logo, no screen of any kind. The fans all run (CPU, GPU, case). The power button, there is a small circle indicator thing. When I press the power button, it's blue for like 5 seconds and then it goes off and nothing happens. The sign of power remains just orange!

Numlock lights will not illuminate, mouse driven stuff does not illuminate.

There is an SSD of 16 Go inside, but the Windows files are all on a 500 GB Partition.

Data sheet: Acer Aspire G3620 (AG3620_H) Predator SNID:24100255718, Core i7-3770, 8 GB of RAM, 1 TB HDD, 16 GB SSD, AMD Radeon HD 7770

    I TRIED SOME THINGS:

Turn it off for half an hour, running again. Same question.

It turns off, took out the RAM GPU and BIOS battery, waited 15 minutes while. Always the same.

Looks like something related to the motherboard, I suggest you to update the BIOS by the way so if it is something related to it, it can be fixed.

  • Satellite M30-604 external usb hdd boot failure

    Hello world

Hard drive problems seem never to end for me.

I have a satellite M30-604. Recently my Hitachi HDD crashed. Now, I am trying to boot from an external hard drive via usb, but I can't.

    (a) I use a ViPower 3.5 "(model VP9258T) enclosure external usb 2.0"
    (b) with a Seagate 200 GB hard drive.
    (c) I used the recovery cd to install windows on the seagate
    (d) the bios (v1.4) seems to support the external device to start
    (e) the internal hdd crashed is deleted (it's internal hard drive space is empty)
    (f) the bios sees the drive and recognizes it as a USB

I think it should work, but when I turn on the computer, after a while, he says: "0201: failure IDE #0"
and gives me the options to run the program installation or start-up.
When I choose boot it gives me the window with "boot in safe mode" screen, 'last known good configuration' etc, but nothing of the work options (it restarts and gives the same again).

    Any ideas please?

    Hello

My research on this subject has led me to believe that it is not possible to boot an operating system of attached USB HDD XP. I read several posts on various usenet groups on this issue, and the consensus of opinion is that it is simply not possible.

Several suppliers of BIOS claim allow a USB HDD to be suitable for start-up purposes but I still have to attend such a machination succeed with XP.

  • Satellite P100-387: VT is not available & USB flash boot problem

    Hello world

I bought this laptop, but I am very satisfied with the following functions:

Processor supports VT (virtualization technology), but in the bios is not the option to enable or disable and tools like securable (grc.com) or other show that this option is disabled.
I check the version of the bios. My is last, but I try to find any information on the web from the seller of the bios and there is tool for verification of the bios.
With that, I discovered that my bios is not the last and I pay $ 38 for access (3 months) to the new version.

I can't boot from the flash drives.

I think on netbook and on the first time I thing about toshiba nb 100.
But now, I'm not sure it's the right idea.

Do you know how to solve this problem?

    Celebril

    Hello

Regarding booting from the USB flash key
As far as I know this option is not supported by the BIOS, then you will NOT be able to boot from a USB flash key.
In this case, you could start from ODD, HARD, LAN and USB FDD drive

  • Tecra M3: Plans to support USB HDD Boot?

I have a Tecra M3 (~ 6 months) and was very very surprised to see that the M3 does not support boot from USB hard drive.

I tried to install Windows Vista and Linux etc on my external hard drive and cannot due to lack of BIOS support.

Any plans to support such a feature? Or any workaround? I really wish that any solution does not affect my existing laptop internal HDD (on which I'm short of space from the point of view even when OS install).

    Hello

The fact is that it is not possible to boot from the external USB HDD on almost all Toshiba laptops. I guess you can't boot from the drive external HARD because of the BIOS.
You can start the LAN and USB-drive floppy/disk HARD/ODD

  • Qosmio F30-140 - how to use the USB Flash boot option?

    Dear,

After I updated my BIOS of the laptop, when I start my laptop I find new start method, it is from USB Flash?  :| How I can use it and what type of file should be in it? I mean .iso or what?

    Thank you

    Hello

I n t have Qosmio F30 so that I can t test it for you, but I think it means options that you can boot from a USB stick for example. Did you check that?

You can boot from an iso file t because you have to create a bootable media. For example a Windows Start disc or a version of Linux that you can boot from a USB key.

  • Z580 ignores USB and boots directly to Win8

    Hello Lenovo community...

I have a Z580 ideapad I bought around a month ago, I can get into the boot menu from the Start button Bios (next), but when I select a USB drive with a Bootable Ubuntu Image, it does not take into account my selection and instead starts in Windows 8. Changing the order in the BIOS to boot from USB was first of all the same result.

If so, Ubuntu 10.04 version and starts fine on USB on my netbook.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Hello and welcome,

Try this: go into the BIOS, disable startup secure, select Startup inherited or UEFI + legacy.

  • Lenovo B590 won't usb key boot

I just bought this laptop and it came with windows preinstalled 8, and I'm trying to install Windows 7 on it.

I have a bootable usb key, which I've used several times to install Windows on my other laptops, but the just B590 won't. I feel I have tried everything. I changed boot priority in the BIOS with USB HDD as number 1, but it always starts just in windows 8.

I tried to delete everything except the boot order USB devices, and now I get this start menu:
    http://i.imgur.com/1iV2iaW.jpg

Which is exactly what I want to boot from, but when I press ENTER to boot the USB device, nothing happens. It's incredibly frustrating.

The USB device IS bootable with a primary partition. I used these steps to make it bootable in DISKPART:
    http://social.technet.Microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/234.how-to-deploy-Windows-7-from-a-USB-Dr...

After having no luck on the B590, I tried to boot from the USB stick on another computer and it works perfectly fine. Start the installation of windows 7. This suggests that the problem is not with my USB.

I even tried to restore the USB and use Lenovo generator Bootable application to make the bootable usb key, with the same result.

    Can anyone help?

    Hi Hypotaksen,

Thank you for using the Community Forums of Lenovo!

    BIOS backwards

    Under the Startup tab

    Change Boot mode in legacy

    USB boot must be enabled

    Under Security

    Secure Boot should be disabled

In case the above options are grayed out in your BIOS, got to the tab out and change OS optimized defaults to other OS

    and look at the options.

Once all are set be sure to save all changed by pressing F10 and enter for Yes

After Hitting enter it restart and you have to keep tapping F12

This should make the Start Menu that lets you choose where to start. You should now have your USB optional.

    Let me know your results

    Hi enlightlanka,

Thank you for your request, I will do my best to help you!

I understand you want to be able to boot from a USB device.

When you start your computer, the bios looks bootable devices in the order referred to in the bios. If it is not available to start on the device, it will continue the list downwards until it has no options left, or there is the boot device.

The USB device must be connected to the laptop to begin on it.  Here is a document to help you change the boot order. Configuration of the Boot order in the system BIOS.

    I hope this has helped.

Boot Mode UEFI is where you were mistaken. You will need to attach it to Legacy to boot from USB drive and restore your backup, UEFI will happen to return to Windows (according to Acer).

Your USB flash is bootable, however it does not contain your actual backup (disk image) files. If you did your USB bootable after backup, well, your backup went, as in the process of making a USB flash drive bootable, that the drive is wiped.

I would suggest to update your Bios, the direct download of the here are more late (2.15).
