Predefined transparencies flattening fails describing stroke

Hi guys, I'm using a predefined flattener setting to convert text to outlines for months, but today is a problem. I had export a pdf file to work with its cliché in - overprint, colored with a spot color - way, and even if I try to deselect the option "convert features contours" in my flattening preset, it keeps turns into a form when I need - it to be a path of service. Why?

If necessary, I'm working on Indesign CC 2015 on an iMac 27 "end 2013, intel i5 3.2, OS X 10.10.3 (Yosemite)

Thank you very much!

Make the layer with the cliché way stacked on top of the layer with transparency.

That should do it.

It may be more simple offset paths rather than different paths that apply to a single object.

Then, once you have everything combined with Pathfinder, go object > path > offset for a given increment.

Use only the fillings and battery according to your needs.

As you have discovered, changing multiple tracks on a single object can be a pain. :-)

  • Why can I not select transparency flattening preset option when exporting to PDF?

    Hi all

May have forgotten a few things so I didn't use this option for some time.

In InDesign, under Edit > Aplatissements predefined transparencies, I created a new preset and included the ability to convert all text to outlines text.

However, when I try to export to a PDF file, the option to select a transparency flattener preset is grayed out.

Can you tell me what I do wrong? It drives me crazy! : ()

(There was originally no transparency in the file, so I created some with a white square the value 0.5% opacity).

Thank you in advance for your help!

How can I rotate and race without distortion of scale?

    Gabriel,

You can object > path > describe stroke brain, then do rotate.

Y at - it an easy way to make my 1 photo will look like the 2nd one? I obviously don't want the lines of inclination I made with paint and I would have preferred more fine lines. Could someone help with this?

    Thank you

    aholonesse,

If I (put) understand, you can:

    (1) put the logo in a composite path if it is not already.

    (2) with the selected compound path, object > path > way compensated by an appropriate negative amount, then switch to Fiil white Stroke with a weight of race.

If you want transparent white parts, like cutouts that you can see the background, you can:

(3A), select two (2) and (1) and in the transparency palette flyout click opacity mask do with unchecked Clip and mask invert checked, or

(3B) select 2) and object > path > describe stroke, and also select 1) and Pathfinder > less before.

  • How to 'hide' a single stroke behind the other object?

I'm struggling with something that shouldn't be this difficult!

I'm planning a logo white T-Shirt only (to go on a dark green T-shirt)

To simplify, let's say I have two ovals with no fill, just a white line.  A small oval overlapping (sur-haut of) the part of the edge of a larger (oval below).    I have

Any advice on how to 'hide' the line which is "behind" the top object?

    As follows: http://i.imgur.com/ZghWTMa.jpg

Actually, I'm not completely sure yet.

Response to Steve assumes silkscreen with a single opaque white ink. It will not work if the composite impression not opaque transfers or cut out the vinyl applied, or if you import the work of two-ellipse for combination of other works of art.

    Because you do not know:

    1. draw two circles with a stroke color and fill color (ex: feature black, white fill) on both.
    2. apply the weight of the desired race.
    3 object > path > describe stroke.
    4 pathfinder palette: merge.
5 white pointer: select both within the regions and remove.
    6. you now have a single compound path; None of the objects that overlap and real 'holes' where you want the substrate to show through. Applies regardless of the fill color (white, etc.) that you need.

But keep in mind what has already been said: white, unless it is defined as a spot color, does "not print." Think in terms of inks, not in terms of 'color '. In a program like Illustrator, 'white' normally means "no ink". And we must always know what printing method that you design.

I work in many different locations, and each color laser printer (Canon, Minolta, Zerox) has the same problem when transparency is a document .ai. The document has a slightly different color in the vicinity with transparency (for example: placed image, blend mode, drop shadow effect).

To fix this, we change the settign overprinting and transparency when printing to raster.

Y at - it a script or a way to automate this do this for all documents? I can change this is the default value for Illustrator? I do not print on inkjet printers a lot, this problem exists with all printers?

Hi Mike, you can save a preset print, after you change the pixelation/vectorization balance and/or other options, give it a name and use it when you need it.

or, if you are more adventurous and want to change [default] print illustrator preset, close, use a text editor to open the file 'Predefined transparencies Aplatissements' in you 'Illustrator CS5 Settings\en_US"folder and look for the line

    / Balance of raster-vector\ flattener\ AI10\ 75

    to take

    / Balance of raster-vector\ flattener\ AI10\ 0

    /collection2 {.. runoff in the "Preset" [medium resolution]}

save it, close the file, and then restart illustrator.

  • Unexplained white lines in formats EPS and HAVE

Thanks for taking a peek. I'm at my limit with this one.

I have a book in InDesign CS4 with overall imported EPS pictures. The EPS files created with Illustrator CS1/CS4 (we have updated recently - ago, big jump!). When you test the exported PDF book we noticed that several images have what seems to be random white lines framing the areas of the work. I searched through the knowledge base on the seam, sought in Illustrator/InDesign forums on 'white lines' and various other key words, but so far I have not found a honest solution. I tested these corrections starting with settings display "Line Art/Smooth Image" PDF, InDesign "Aplatissements predefined transparencies Transarency" smooth, all the way back to the work of the Illustrator files.

I must emphasize that these lines are only visible on the screen after a series of expansions in Acrobat or InDesign. The lines are not visible on the screen in the EPS formats / HAVE, however, when you print directly from Illustrator, they find themselves on the hard copy. There is at least a starting point?

In one of the most obvious examples, we noticed framing around objects with drop shadow effects. The background of this image is a gradient. The foreground object has a shadow effect. We tested the removal of the shadow effect and the lines disappear. We then reapplied the shadow but removed the gradient of the background. Again, the lines are left. All this is fine I guess, if we need to go through each drawing and eliminate any shadow scope and/or degraded (rather annoying though and disappointing that some effects may be inevitable to represent a series of illustrations). But honestly, is it normal that these two effects of situations of conflict in this way? The biggest problem is that there are designs with these ghosts lines that have no background gradient shadow or drop. I have no idea where to solve this!

From what I read and what I've seen with tests, there is a problem of transparency, supported by our experiences with shadows - possibly in the original format of EPS designs are created in. ' save under... ". ». I does not solve it. Backup to a flattened. TIFF or even. JPG is really not an option.

With the help of shadows with gradients is a no-no? Maybe something in the transition from CS1 to CS4? I'm a clueless fool who just needs to stick with Photoshop? Laughing out loud. I do not know!! Someone please enlighten us on this one. I try to understand these things on my own, but Illustrator is my weaker demand. In any case, all tips are very much appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

I use Illustrator CS3 and had the same problem.  I finally got the white lines if go by saving my file .ai, flattening of the work (go to the layers palette, the pitcher, then "Flatten the work"), print to a .pdf file (or I guess you could save as), and then close the .ai file without saving (because I didn't want the flattened .ai file).

    It worked!  Woohoo!

It is a good idea and makes me think that my reference to flattening is misleading. Flattening in the layers panel work can definitely have an effect on transparency, but this isn't a flattening of transparency in the strict sense of the term. Julie mentions printing in PDF format, or save as PDF. These are two totally different things. In the case of printing to PDF, the output is post script, which does not support transparency. The PostScript is converted to PDF. So it could be transparency in the document of the monolayer, but transparency has been flattened at the printing stage.

This method can be effective, but only if the PDF output does not need to be placed in another application. In any case, Julie was correct does not back up after flattening the layers.

I spent hours trying to solve this problem.  I did as stated in this thread, and passed under the eps to AI file, but would really like to know why this is happening with this particular eps file.

Maybe we can find a solution to this problem.

Kristeejo you should display your illustrations drawn mode and see if you have pictures divided into sections. If Yes, then this is perhaps the result of some with object: flatten transparency. It's very embarrassing when someone does this. Sometimes, you can select the pieces of the image (see the links Panel, they are all integrated links), then use object: pixelation. Do not do this to vector elements. After rasterization is completed, the pieces become an entire image, and I hope that the seam lines will disappear.

The other possibility - and the solution because it is much easier - is that someone has placed a Photoshop EPS, and it is interacting with transparency. You can re - register the Photoshop EPS as a native file to Photoshop and re - link. I've seen it eliminate the thin white lines in output.

  • Help! How can I recreate this triangle image?

Essentially as part of my schoolwork, I want to really know how to recreate image.jpg this effect by the triangle, I know how to make a clipping with a regular triangle but this mask shows just outside the form, can anyone help? Also, I use photoshop and illustrator cs6

    Mayers,

    You can:

    (1) create the shape of triangle, indoor or outdoor;

    (2) object > path > offset by the width desired open triangle shape;

    (3) select the two and object > compound path > make;

    (4) select it and a copy of the image and Object > clipping mask > make.

    (5) move the clipping mask (and/or the image of direct copy selected) about to adapt.

    Agenda 1) - 3), you can also:

    (1) create a triangle with the width desired as race weight (based on the middle of the width);

    (2) object > path > describe stroke.

Instead of 3), you can also Pathfinder > less before.

Illustrator does not work as it should...

I want them to compare the size and date of creation with what I installed on my original computer... I installed several times with my original CD and I tried once downloading the files from the adobe site (using my own license). I suspect that the files have been changed or renamed on my laptop by an unauthorized user external causing dysfunction of the application.

Customer service does not support CS3 more and the updates / fixes in the adobe site does not solve the problem... They redirect me to the support forums...

Currently, my problem is that after creating a swatch and drag it to the Group swatch, he does not like it needs a new form... Now, after deactivating and activating my license nuance seems to fill the new form, but when the filter sample's persistence in being created next fill even if a different color is used as a fill (X)... Aid for the creation of a shade over the internet just complicates the matter.

This is why I would like to know if the updates on my product are received or files are overwritten without my knowledge...

    You cannot create Y-junctions.

Simply place the path open everywhere where you need and leave it there.

  • Definition of diagonal Bars in a Rectangle in Illustrator

Hi everyone, in Illustrator, how to make a shape with the points that will point to pint in another form?

For example, I'm flags, when a flag has a bar diagonally like in Scotland and the Jamaica bar width is defined by the flat or horizontal pose and then it is located diagonally on the flag, with its Center through the center of the flag [rectangle] and its ends focused on the corners.

How to define a horizontal bar to be a certain width (flat) and set it to be centered along the diagonal of a certain form and with its length defined by the corners of the rectangle?

    Any help much appreciated

    Gareth

PS. I made an example of what I'm trying to make here an exact place. It can be done easily in an exact square because you just made the bar 45 degrees, but in doing so it points the way to the center of the white bar (which I put it there myself exactly in the middle) are still not at the corners of the rectangle, diagonal so the length of the bar is not set.

    FlagDiagonal.jpg

    Gareth,

You can (guides are your friends):

    (1) create a straight path, with a weight of time equal to the width of the bar, very close from one corner to the other, and then with the direct Selection tool, drag endpoints to coincide with the Anchor Points of the corner,

    (2) object > path > describe strokes,.

    (3) create a copy of the background rectangle (Ctrl / Cmd + F).

(Select 4 2)) and 3) and Pathfinder > intersect shape areas (or whatever it is called in your version result in overlap between Forms, you may need to press Alt/Option to make a simple way).

To create the bar crossing, you can:

4 select 5)) and object > transform > reflect a copy (vertically or horizontally).

  • How to keep the original path?

How will keep the original path after conversion to describe stroke. Sometimes, but I don't know why?
