Predictor of Smith improved to templated factory

Hi guys,.

I began studying the field of design control. I have a plant 0.04 / (5s + 1) ^ 3 third order) with a model delay 0.04e ^ s 5.5 / (5s + 1) ^ 3. I saw it in one of the books of dynamics of process that uses it to try some LabVIEW simulation problems. I want to use Smith Predictor for her and make a comparison with a controller IP of the same models and see which will have a positive control or determine incompatibilities.

I saw the example PID - SP on NC and used this idea to start so I used it to test, but I don't even get good response time (see attachment). How are the P - I the controller parameters are calculated? I read some stuff on the setting of the PID, but I think I'm missing something in my understanding. If you can point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful.

Thanks for your help,

Raz

  • Factory restore

I recently inherited a MacBook Pro. It runs on Mac OS X Version 10.6.4 Intel Core 17. In my view, that it was made in 2010.

It will not update the operating system. Otherwise, it works great. I was told to hold the r/control/power button will restore the system, but it did not work. I believe that the factory restore will solve the problem of update, but I don't know how to do this.

Before purchasing a used computer, you must have run Apple Diagnostics or the Apple Hardware Test, whichever is applicable.

The first thing to do after the acquisition of the computer is to wipe the internal drive and install a new copy of Mac OS X. You - not the original owner, must do. Changes made by Apple over the years have made this very complex seemingly simple task.

How would you do it depends on the model, and if you already have another Mac. If you are not sure of the model, enter the serial number on this page. Then, find the model on this page to see which version of the OS was initially installed.

It is dangerous and may be illegal to use a computer with software installed by a previous owner.

    1. If you do not have another Mac

    a. If the machine comes with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a Snow Leopard install disc (OS X 10.6) retail boxed and "Shrink Wrap" on the Apple Store or a reputable dealer - no eBay or something of the sort. If the machine is very old and has less than 1 GB of memory, you need to add in order to install 10.6. Preferably, install as much memory can take, according to the technical specifications.

    (b) if the machine comes with OS X 10.6, you need the installation media that accompanies it: gray installation discs, or a USB flash drive for a MacBook Air. You should have received the media of the original owner, but if you do not, order replacements from Apple. A disc at retail, or the gray discs of another model, will not work.

To start from an optical disc or a flash drive, insert it, and then restart the computer and hold the C key to start ringing. Release the button when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.

    c. If the machine comes with OS X 10.7 or later version, you don't need media. It should start in the mode of Recovery of the Internet when you hold down the key combination option-command-R to start ringing. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe. Note that Mac Pro models turn over end of 2014 (with the box of "cheese grater") cannot use Internet recovery, regardless of what version of OS they shipped with. The Mac Pro round (2014 or later) can use it.

    d. some models 2010-2011 comes with OS X 10.6 and received a firmware update after 10.7 was released, allowing them to use Internet recovery. If you have one of these models, you cannot reinstall 10.6 even from the original media, and recovery of the Internet won't work either without Apple ID of the original owner, in this case, contact Apple technical supportor take the machine to an Apple Retail Store or other authorized service provider to have an operating system installed.

    2. If you do not have another Mac

If you already have another Mac which has been upgraded in the App Store to the version of Mac OS X that you want to install, and if the new Mac is compatible with it, then you can install it. Use the recovery disk wizard to prepare a USB device, and then starts the new Mac of it by pressing the C key to start ringing. Alternatively, if you have a backup of OS X Time Machine 10.7.3 or later on an external hard drive (not a time Capsule or other network device), you can start by holding down the option key and clicking in the row of icons that is displayed. Note that if your other Mac has never updated in the App Store, you can not use this method.

3 partition and install OS X

a: If you see a lock screen trying to boot from the support installation or recovery mode, then a firmware password has been defined by the previous owner, or the machine was locked remotely via iCloud. You will need to either contact the owner or by the machine to an Apple Retail Store or other provider of service to be unlocked. May asked you proof of ownership.

    b. launch disk utility, and then select the internal drive icon - no volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a partition table GUID with the volume of data in Mac OS extended (journaled) format. This permanently deletes all existing data on the disk.

    c. an unusual problem can occur if all the following conditions apply:

OS X 10.7 or later version has been installed by the previous owner

The boot volume has been encrypted with FileVault

You start in recovery mode (that is, not of a 10.6 disk installation)

In this case, you will not be able to unlock the volume or partition the drive without the FileVault password. Ask for advice or see this discussion of the CSA.

    d. after partitioning, quit disk utility and run the OS X Installer. If you install a version of OS X was acquired from the App Store, you will need the Apple ID and password you used. When the installation is complete, the system reboots automatically in the Migration Wizard, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have all the data to be transferred, it is usually the best time to do it.

    e. run the software update and install all available Apple system updates. To upgrade to a major version of Mac OS X newer than 10.6, get it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can not keep an improved version that was installed by the first owner. He or she cannot legally transfer to you, and without the Apple ID, you will be able to update in a software update or reinstall, if it becomes necessary. Is the same for all App Store products that the previous owner installed, you will need to buy.

    4. other issues

    a. If the original owner "accepted" bundled iLife (iPhoto, iMovie and Garage Band) applications in the App Store so that he or she could put up-to-date, IRREVOCABLY linked to that Apple ID and you can download them without having to buy them. Reportedly, the Mac App Store Customer Service sometimes issued codes of reimbursement for these applications to second owners who asked.

    (b) if the previous owner has not Deauthorize the computer in the iTunes Store under his Apple ID, you will not be able to authorize immediately under your username. In this case, you will have either to wait up to 90 days or contact iTunes Support.

    c. When you try to create a new iCloud account, you could get a failure message: "Account limit reached." Apple imposes a limit of life of three configurations by device iCloud account. Erasure of the unit does not reset the limit. You can always use iCloud account that was created on another device, but you will not be able to create a new. Contact iCloud Support for more information. Configuration limit does not apply to the Apple ID accounts used for other services, such as iTunes and Mac App Store or iMessage. You can create as many accounts you want.

Can I get a Toshiba USB recovery media? As I doubt if my DVD drive works (she stopped working a few months before)

Sorry to ask so many questions, but I'm frustrated.

    Thank you.

Hey why you didn t write this problem here before you started to do anything?

Anyway, what you did was wrong. The first thing you didn t is create the recovery recovery image back-up media. This recovery (DVD or USB) media can be used for the installation of a recovery image in case your laptop does not work correctly.

Your second mistake was the use of bad option (format HARD drive). Why format hard drive? What you want is to have once again factory settings, right. So now your HARD drive is completely empty and initial recovery image disappeared.

Only option for you now is to original order recovery disc and you can do it on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

    My Situation

    In December 2009, I bought a Toshiba Qosmio X 500 - model No. PQX33A-00X00J

At the time, I improved my purchase at Toshiba dealer BD4U, ranging from the standard 1 x 500 GB Sata + 1 x 64 GB SSD... to be rather 2 x 500 GB sata drives. I bought with 3 year next business day warranty onsite, which is is now expired.

It came loaded with MS Win 7 Premium Home Edition - but not the provided disks.

    Hello

When you buy the new laptop with preinstalled OS (factory settings) original recovery image is saved on the HARD drive. On some older models, it was recorded on the second partition of HARD drive and it was visible in Windows Explorer. Toshiba later saved this recovery image on another hidden partition. This partition was not visible in Windows Explorer, but it is visible in disk management and unregistered.

With the factory settings, each owner of the laptop is able to create recovery media (DVD) and use it later if HARD recovery disk image installation is not possible. In the user s manuals document described how all this works. Please note: the product key from the sticker belongs to the original version of Windows and cannot be used for activation when you install the version of the OS by using Microsoft disk.

I can see this recovery partition is not available on your Qosmio laptop and recovery image installation is not possible.
    Now, you have two options:

Recovery image installation 1 / original
2 / Windows installation by using the Microsoft installation disc

If you use option 1 you should try to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider in your country and ask if you can order the original installation disc of recovery. Of course, it is easier to have factory again.

Option 2 is more complicated. You must install the version of the OS and also install all the necessary drivers, tolls and the utilities manually one by one. Download page for each of them you can find on Toshiba (link is the right one).
It is not so complicated and you can do it alone and we can help you. As I already wrote for the activation of the operating system you need valid product key.

If you have further questions do not hesitate to ask.

  • HP Envy h8 1409: just restored to factory default and now windows 8 is not activate! Help, please!

Recently, my PC started a little all around to have massive problems that I don't mind going into details, but I decided that after 2-3 years to possess, I would restore it factory default. Hello

If the original HP recovery partition is intact then you should be able to create the recovery media.

Before attempting to improve once again, use a hard drive of commerical known reliable product imaging in the image of your hard drive to external media.  This will save you a lot of time and effort, if you never experience questions requiring to return to a fresh factory restore and then have to go through the whole update process again. The image will also save you if your hard drive fails.  If the HP recovery media is the plain W8 then take the shot.  Then after all the updates are applied and your with set success to date to W8.1 and then take another picture.

Thanks for posting on the forum.

  • You can create new templates in Garageband 10.1.0?

I am a new user of Garageband and love the feature... when it's working properly.  I am running in a few annoying quirks of the interface user and the usual bugs - crackling, latency, etc.

One of the more annoying omissions is that I don't see a way to create a "model registration.

In my setup, I have a Tascam audio interface with 7 microphones and I always want to show me the "Enable registration" button in the user interface.  Whenever I create a new project, I must implement all over again which is a waste of time.  Is there a way to set the default value or create a template from these settings?

The official answer is: NO, you can't create your own patterns... however...

There is a solution on how to do it anyway. It is a small surgery under hood, so do it at your own risk:

    • Create a project the way you want it to appear as a model and save it. For example "my model 1.
    • Make a copy of the GarageBand application and open the contents of package (ctr-click on the app and select "Show Package Contents" from the context menu.)
    • Navigate to the following folder: content ➤ resources Project Templates ➤ ➤ ➤ new project and you will be all model files, which are regular files of GarageBand project.
    • Copy your GarageBand project previously saved to this folder location (you can copy over your Porjects won if you like)
    • Launch GarageBand and when the "Project Chooser" window (using the new project"command") you will see your own project next to the other Template System.
    • Unfortunately, your user Templates will not display an icon, just a black square, but other that that, they work like the other model

This is the screenshot of the contents of the package, GarageBand

This is a screenshot of how the "project selector" looks like your own custom templates.

    Hope that helps

  • Factory reset and wiping Cache

    Hi all

Several times on the net, we heard that, the way we are going to pass to the lollipop while doing a major OS, upgrade, it is recommended to do Factory Reset and wiping Cache.

That wiping cache is concerned, it of nothing, but formatting for the cache, they average in the swap partition linux is formatted. But what is the technical reason to do a Factory Reset? It's a real pain to reconfigure all the stuff after factory reset.

Anyone can throw some light on this?

    Concerning

    Sébastien

There is no official reason - but my reason is because of my experience. Years as a system administrator, put computers in Windows for Workgroups, Windows NT level would still be some issues. The same model machine with clean installs of the software even played very well. After some tests, I was convinced that upgrades on the spot can cause problems. I don't even do on-site on OS X upgrades - they have issues like Windows.

I noticed the same behavior with improvements in phone (Android, Apple, WinMo) - some applications does not work, the battery life is poor, etc. An upgrade to the Atrix HD and I was missing the options menu for SmartActions - until I did a reset, certain features of this application has been completely absent - it was an integrated application of motorcycle, and nothing else has worked.

If you want only some technical reasons for why this happens - there may be several:

    • can install applications with different parameters depending on the operating system - unless you uninstall and reinstall applications after the upgrade, none will have the settings that correspond to the BONE

    • The OS settings which are carried over after an upgrade, which may not be suitable

    • Operating system for the new operating system that is not set, because of legacy apps being present

    • Upgrading test - it is not possible to test with all the combinations of installed applications

Since there is currently no upgrade E published, he does not worry about now. But when the time comes, do the upgrade and see how your phone works. If it works OK then go to reset. Personally, I do the reset and only re-install the apps that I use. It is a good time for me to dump a bunch of junk.

  • Envy 17 t: How do factory reset on a new HD to Win8 after upgrade to Win 8.1?

Sorry in advance for the confusing explanation!
My hard drive recently started to crash my laptop and after a few searches using the diagnostics in the bios, I realized that it was defective. I thought I was lucky cause I made a recovery from USB, however, I did after my PC upgraded to Windows factory installed Windows 8 8.1! The upgrade was in a day or two after, I started to use my laptop and I do not do the recovery disk before upgrading!
Now that I have installed my new HD and USB to load Windows 8.1, Windows asks me to activate Windows! Apparently if you install 8.1 Windows from a recovery disk on a PC provided with Windows 8, you need to activate it!
So, the answer is that I somehow instal Windows 8 on my laptop on the new hard drive and then upgrade to Windows 8.1! Apparently, if you make a recovery 8.1 on a PC USB disk that has been upgraded from Win8, then a version of win8 is included on the DISC of RECOVERY USB. I can't find any way to install Win8 on my new drive hard using the recovery USB disk that I created after I updated my PC! There is no help anywhere about this problem, a nice person can you please help?
I still have my original hard drive with partition recovery still on it, and although this hard drive crash the laptop regularly, I still might be able to make some kind of recovery USB or DVD using, if only someone could kindly help me to do so.
I have to install two hard drives in laptop but the cable and caddy to do this is VERY expensive here in the United Kingdom and it will take a few weeks to get from the United States. Despite this, I really don't know what to do even if I had two drives connected to the laptop at the same time!
Thank you very much in advance for any help you can give me.

    Hello
    Just as an update...
If you buy a PC with an operating system already installed on it and it upgrades before making a recovery media, you can recover to the upgraded operating system because windows will ask you for the key. If like me, you did not receive a key, just the operating system on a hard disk partition, and if that hard drive crashes, you're completely banjaxed! I bought my laptop HP in the United States, the United Kingdom HP, although very useful, would not give me a recovery media for my PC because it was American and HP in the United States would not be me send them because they are not allowed to send overseas. In the end, I had to call Microsoft and literally had this were begging for almost 2 hours, and after making me literally try every little thing that I had already tried several times by myself, they basically told me that I had to buy a key that would cost me about £200 for Windows complete 10! Finally, after a lot of explanations, they really gave me 'once only' keys for win10, so I now have a fully functional win10 BONE, but if something should go wrong again, I have to pay to buy a new. Fair enough, I suppose, a little warning to those of you who bought a computer laptop win 8 and immediately improved to win8.1, they will say that win 8 will appear on your media recovery as well as 8.1, but my media was only 8.1 victory! Worthless, unless you have a fully functional key!

  • Reset the factory settings and Take Back up to 8.1 Windows

    Hello

I have an older 17 inch HP DV7 laptop which is still in very good condition. Currently, it has a minimum on it software and is for Windows 8.1.

I would like however to wipe back to factory settings which bring to Windows Vista, I think, but I put it to update all the way up to 8.1 Windows online.

How can I then bring it back up to 8.1 so I have a chance to try to sell for a few hundred dollars.  I don't want these windows licenses more as I have since bought another laptop and bought all the software out there.

or do I just take the chance and leave with Vista and see if someone wants to and that he organized to upgrade themselves.

I don't know how to find the relevant licenses for 7 and 8 now on this laptop.

    Thank you

    Trish

    Hi Trish,

If you post the complete model number, we can look it up on the card to see what came with the laptop.

It should also have a Windows sticker on the bottom or in the battery compartment that will tell what was the operating system.

If you upgraded each time through Microsoft online, then they would have sent you a key for every new update in your email. At least you reached a physical disk to load from who should have a key in the case somewhere.

    8.1 update from 8 doesn't have a key.

Did you burn your original recovery disks before you start the upgrade?

You will need those to return the laptop to factory. Although you still have the recovery partition in place on the disk, the bond that him was probably broken when you upgraded. If so, you will not be able to access the recovery at Startup Manager via the function key.

Improvements to the OS you have purchased and installed in the computer is not good on this laptop and not another computer.

If you have the possibility to return the operating system to original but do not have access to the improvements now, I don't worry about this. Resale value on old systems are weak despite everything.

If you do not have your recovery discs, you can load a regular copy of Vista (if you can get one) and use the key on the sticker that is located on the laptop to install it. You will need to enter the drivers online first and then save them so that you can install after.
