C850-1 kN - troubled satellite factory reset

The laptop came with Windows 8 and this improved to 8.1 last month.

Last week, when I tried to start it says "Prepare the automatic repair" and showed white screen after that.
I have read on the internet and pressed 0 with button / stop and chose Reset PC.
He asked the language and asked if it can format the drive. I said yes.
After formatting, it restarted and says no bootable disk...

What is the best solution for me?
I had a recovery in my hard drive, I'm not sure if she is still there.
Get help from a Toshiba recovery media? I noticed no down my Windows product key. I need to recover?
Can I get a Toshiba USB recovery media? As I doubt if my DVD drive works (she stopped working a few months before)

Sorry to ask so many questions, but I'm frustrated.

Thank you.

Hey why you didn t write this problem here before you started to do anything?

Anyway, what you did was wrong. The first thing you didn t is create the recovery recovery image back-up media. This recovery (DVD or USB) media can be used for the installation of a recovery image in case your laptop does not work correctly.

Your second mistake was the use of bad option (format HARD drive). Why format hard drive? What you want is to have once again factory settings, right. So now your HARD drive is completely empty and initial recovery image disappeared.

Only option for you now is to original order recovery disc and you can do it on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

    Hello, Damien

It's that the recovery image installation can not be interrupted. If this happens there is big problem because it cannot be continued and also you are not able to start from the beginning.
HARD drive recovery facility is ruined with other words.

Now, all you can do is to install the recovery image using the installation of recovery disc.
I m afraid you didn't create one, right?

  • Satellite L750-115 and Factory Reset

Hello, I watch/read thousand video's / forums on how to factory reset in the Toshiba Satellite L750-115. Everywhere I found that "press 0 during startup. But it didn't work for me. When I try to get help from the toshiba Web site, I can still get my cell phone.

If anyone can help me, it will be very nice...

In General, you have two options:
You would use HARD drive recovery option to recover the computer laptop back to settings factory, or you must use the recovery Toshiba (disk or USB) media which must be created using the Toshiba recovery media creator software.

But this means of communication should be established as long as the laptop works properly...

Have you created this support in the past?
If this isn't the case, you can use the option of recovery of HARD drive, BUT ONLY if the HARD drive and partitions are not affected!

I guess that Windows 7 is pre-installed on your laptop.
Well, in this case power unit, then press F8
Then you should get the advanced boot menu... Choose here: fix my computer...
    Then Toshiba HDD recovery.

If this is not possible, drive HARD recovery is not possible and the only way of recovering the laptop is the use of the recovery disk...
As mentioned, if you do not have the disk, you can try ordering this support here:

  • Cannot perform factory reset to Satellite L650

    Hi team, support

Hope you will be well :)
I have some problems and hope that you will help me solve them. Here is the description of my problem:
I have a Toshiba Satellite L650 - 17R laptop computer I want to reset to the factory settings. I used the following instructions to do that (http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm), but when I'm in pressing the F8 key when starting laptop it appears a list of choices on the display that does not contain 'Repair your computer' or "??" or something like that. The first entry in this list is 'Safe Mode', second is 'Safe Mode with Networking' and so on. Also, I tried the other method described in many places in the internet, which is to press 0 and the whole power button when you turn on the laptop. In this case again, he starts to do things as described in the instructions (example here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5dEOm1EJBw): it beeps, then when I let go of the 0 key, it prints "starting Windows" and shows the Windows logo, after that it goes to market as always and no other dialog boxes appear.

I have doubts that the "Toshiba HDD recovery" tool of my laptop is corrupted, so is it possible to download this tool on the internet, on dvd disc and install from there? If so, then can you please give me a link of this tool for my model?

    Best regards
    Mihran grabbed.

Hello Mihran and welcome in the Toshiba forum

    Let's see what's not there.
First some general info. Each new Toshiba notebook is preinstalled with original recovery image. This image is also saved on the HARD disk on a separate partition. With the factory settings repair my computer option will appear in the advanced start-up (F8 at startup) and HARD drive recovery option can be made as described in Toshiba document you posted in your first assignment. If nothing is changed, this option will be there and you will be able to do the installation of HARD drive recovery again ad again.
    > when I'm in pressing the F8 key when starting laptop it appears a list of choices on the display that does not contain "repair your computer".
This occurs if you have installed the version of the OS using the Microsoft installation disc. After having this option to fix my computer will disappear, and you will not be able to start the installation of HARD drive recovery.
    > Is there another way to do the factory reset?
Yes. You must use the disk for the installation of the OS restore DVD. After that it all will be the same. Repair my computer option will be available again and you won't be havce factory again.

If you have any other questions you are welcome.

I checked the hdmi cables with other devices and work on the two TV - using the shortest cable to test the laptop.
honestly, I thought that it was a software problem because it can real detects the TV but no picture or sound work, which indicated the hdmi cables, but they work with my ps3.

    any help much appreciated sincerely.

    Hello

If all goes well he material s no problem, but I m afraid it could be
I think it might be a hardware problem, because you said that you have already configured the laptop back to factory settings and this has not solved the problem.

I understand this correctly? You used the recovery disc or HARD drive recovery?
    Is this good?

What you could do is to check if your BIOS is up to date.
On the European driver Toshiba page, you will find the latest version of the BIOS.
Check if you can update the BIOS.
In addition, I recommend setting the BIOS to default and settings to save the changes.

At least a graphics card driver might be updated also. Its worth a check however, I m really not sure if this might help you

  • Lenovo G50 factory reset - 80 questions

I have a laptop G50-80, which has been upgraded to Win10 quite earlier. Recently he started having trouble with hardware and software that worked no longer works. I decided to use the reset option factory to return the system to Win8.1.

Before doing so I downloaded the more critical of my files from the user to a Cloud Computing service and created a recovery image of windows on a SSD connecterd external via USB. I also created a system restore CD.

Once I felt, it was safe, I pushed the button and started the factory reset. It has worked flawlessly, the system came in Win8.1. However, the files that I had uploaded to the cloud is not fully spread, and I needed to restore the image of Win10 to get back them.

After several attempts to get the Win10 upgraded to work, I finally got to Win10 boot and restore the image of the SSD system. I found the files and was more securely save for later access. Now, I had to perform a factory reset more to return the system to Win8.1. But operations to do so led to restart the system for the installation of Win8.1. He was not able to start the factory reset.

Some reading on the internet indicates that if the HD partitions are written in software other than the Lenovo OneKey tools that any attempt to use the partitions of the factory to do a reset would fail with the symptoms that I saw.

Using the Win10 disk management tool, I see that there are 6 partitions on my hard drive. They are called "Recovery Partition", "EFI System Partition", "OEM Partition", "C:", "D:", and "recovery Partition". I don't see anything on the first 3 or last one of them. It doesn't seem to be a file system to set up, so I don't know if the data has been preserved.

Is there something I can do to recover the factory software reset so I can restore this system to Win8.1?

You may need more information to help. I'll be happy to provide all that you think you have need. Let me know.

    Vince

I found an answer that seems to work for me. I am currently at 12%, restore the factory settings. Check out the instructions here:

    https://forums.Lenovo.com/T5/Lenovo-beacon-stick-300-D-J-and/Windows-8-recovery-partition-not-recogn...

After the execution of these instructions, the novo button does not. From the Lenovo OneKey app doesn't. I had to reboot to factory settings using the windows restore utilities. Before running these instructions, the third partition of the provided factory restore option was not available. This time it was and the restoration continues.

If I don't come back and say otherwise, assume the success!

  • HP Stream 13: Wifi disappeared completely, even after factory reset.

    Hello

We had a trouble that started with the laptop does not not on one day. We managed to turn it on, but now there is no wifi.

In programs and features I see there is a driver Broadcom "installed" but there is no version and there is no file size. I deleted and tried to reinstall a new driver, but that stops at half way through and doesn't seem to work.

In device manager there is no sign of a wifi device, it's as if it disappeared completely.

I tried all types of factory reset, same one that completely resets all doesn't seem to work.

I have no way to connect the laptop to the internet because there is no Ethernet cable port. So I downloaded the driver on a memory stick from another computer and it stuck in the said laptop - no joy.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • What * exactly *, did a factory reset?

My Thinkpad T430, less than a year, is having issues - corrupted .dll files, Windows Update does not, all kinds of fun stuff. I'm waiting on someone to e-mail me own copy of the dll I need BUT I'm worried that this will not solve everything, especially for problems with Windows Update. I've exhausted almost every other option that I can find to try to fix it at this point. The nuclear option is a reset to Lenovo factory settings from the windows repair environment accessed by pressing F8 during startup, but before I do I want to know * exactly * what I would do to my computer.

Specifically: will be reset back factory all files Windows system to their original state, which means that there is no chance that will persist the issues that I am? It will guarantee that Windows Update works again and all my .dll and other system files will be in a State of charge and not corrupted? The process replaces the current system files with the original versions that have been installed on the computer?

I want to restore factory settings and find that Windows Update still does not work, and now I have to install more than one year of updates manually from the Microsoft Web site, one by one, or go through the trouble of having to reinstall all my programs, get my files on the computer, set the parameters in order to be as I would like again etc. only to not have these problems solved.

    Thanks for any help/input.

Good news; I ended up not having to do a factory reset - I could get good copies of my someone else corrupted .dll files and copy them to my computer fixed most of the problems. Repair installation of the problematic program is solved the rest.

I don't know why you would need register your device and do all these steps you provided previously.

If your having trouble finding the option just apply a password and enter 10 times incorrectly. That he will wipe away.

If your device was a BES, I would suggest a factory reset to remove all political. Just open with desktop 6.1 - 7.1 software. Go to help > resources > support tools > factory reset.
