Preparation for Dell (CFI) Configuration Services

Hi people,

Looking for some direction.

Was reading white papers to configure/prepare my CFI MDT TS, but according to me, there are a few batches of referenced files that do not come with the current deployment toolkit revision. (Example: "% SCRIPTROOT%\CS\CFI_START.) BAT")

Plans to take advantage of the CFI on future purchases, doing research on the CFI and ImageAssist.

Here is the page I was looking at: http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/enterprise-client/w/wiki/7498.dell-factory-imaging-and-microsoft-deployment-toolkit

Thanks in advance

Felix

Hi Felix,.

Whole batch files\VBS Scripts our white paper asking that call you from your TS will be added by our factory process on the fly.

Kind regards

Shane

  • Prices for Dell Tech Team Service - a lot of confusion

I noticed that your technical team is no longer offered in the configuration of your Inspiron desktop, so I called to ask about the pricing as an add-on.  First of all, the customer service rep didn't believe me when I said that it was no longer in the configuration on the Dell Web site, but after I insisted on the fact that it is indeed gone, she gave in and said that the cost is now $239 / year, but she couldn't really give me a price close without a service number.  I explained that I had not bought a Dell PC yet, and if I didn't have a service number.  She said that I should call after I bought a new PC.

    1. Why is unable to give a firm price on your Tech team until after a PC was purchased Dell?

    2. I believe that the previous pricing was $ 149 / year when purchased separately.  What has changed to increase the price to $90 / year?

    3. why your technical team is not available in the configuration for the Inspiron on the Dell website?  It is available for other models of Dell.

Hi, I know exactly what you are referring, I think that the customer service at Dell people know almost nothing about your technical team. From my understanding, the major asset of your technical team, is that you get to talk to the person you want and they are in North America, I think not they offer all additional software support outside your computer software comes with.

If you buy your tech team while at the point of sale (IE with the computer), you pay $99 per year for her, if you wait and buy after that you have a service tag ect, you pay I beileve $349 per year, so its much more expensive this way, they offer also the so-called station solution which is the frequency of 4-5 per year of using the software and it's $ 259 per year and you can buy that after you already own your computer, the disadvantage of buying it later is that you do not get the first 30 days free, as you would if you buy 'solution station' or otherwise known as 'your plu tech team. I think they really need to be more clear on what 'your tech team' offers there should be a clear written contract, so you know what you get at the front, it's confusing and most dell representatives could not give you this many detiails which is staggering, they definitely need to work there the customer.

I hope it's useful to you and others.

    Hello

Please join Microsoft Community where you can find the necessary information on Microsoft products!

You can not install Vista Service pack 2 and get the error with code 800f0a09 and the message that there are problems with the driver for dell latitude.

The problem may occur if some of the components of the update are corrupt.

What is the full error message that you receive?

I suggest you follow the steps mentioned below to check if the problem is with the update components:

Method 1: Reset the update components

    See the site:

How to reset the Windows Update components?

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058

Warning: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/947821

Method 3: Turn off the antivirus software

    See the site:

    Disable the anti-virus software

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

I hope this helps. If the problem persists, let know us and we would be happy to help you.

  • Dell order | Configure not applying is not the settings of the BIOS for Inspiron 13 7000 series

I tried to define a system and/or a password via the command line and a package .exe or CCTK file via the export of GUI and none of these work for me.

The following text appears in the log:

Note: In some machines, Hdd if password or system password is set, you cannot set the password.

2014/11/12-11:02:14 cctk - error in the definition of value.

I tried this on a Windows 8.1 system and for S & G, on a Windows 10 system with the same result.  I even tried to create the 2.2 CCTK config and have the same result.

    What is the cause?

    Hi CAPP3R,

DCC (CCTK) deals with the BIOS settings only for Dell commercial client systems. CDC is not yet supported on all Inspiron models.

  • Preparation for installation at each connection, but what?

Windows XP Pro with SP3, stable for years.

But now since one some time to Setup tries to install 'something' after the connection very. The "preparation for installation" prompt appears, unfortunately, never says what it is trying to install, as I know that it takes 30 sec suspended in this popup, appearing 3 - 4 times in a row each whenever I have connection. Thomas,
Looks like you did a lot to try to find the culprit.  One thing that I do not see you mention performs a clean boot.  If you haven't tried that I implement that and then restart and see if Setup returns to the top.

Follow the steps in this article to resolve problems with a clean boot.

Advanced problem resolution by clean restart.

Let me know if this helps.  Also have you looked in the Application section in the event viewer and saw all errors related to this?

  • PE1950 R3 PERC6 / i - Drive replaced and returned at nine but still flashing the model "identify/preparation for withdrawal?

    Hello

    First post - forgive me.

I have a Dell PowerEdge 1950 of R3 with basket 4 x 2.5 "SAS/SATA connected to a PERC 6/i. 4 x 1 TB SATA WD red disks are mounted configured in a RAID10, and all worked happily for 6 months. A drive has failed, so we jumped out and jumped into a new. Rebuild starts automatically and completed in 208 minutes.

Now all is well again, unless the reader identify / preparation for the distribution of light removal still flashes on the replaced disk. Table health is reported as optimal, all the disks are online, and there is nothing wrong in newspapers PERC.

Is it just a firmware error which may disappear during the next reboot? (We cannot restart this machine right now... don't ask!) but it makes me nervous even if everything works well and the newspapers to report a successful reconstruction and optimal condition.

Thanks for the ideas, you may be able to give!

If you can not install OMSA, then you can start on a live CD/DVD of the OMSA:

Direct OMSA is a CentOS distribution that has OMSA and several other utilities built. It is installable, but you do not want to install it on your current OS so be sure to select the live Webcam or load the option memory at boot.

Once inside of the OMSA live or after installing OMSA in your current operating system, you should be able to run this command to unblink drive:

omconfig action of pdisk storage = unblink controller = pdisk 0 = 0:1:2

You may need to use omreport about what are your ID controller and pdisk. on the pdisk is controller: channel: IDLecteur

  • Toshiba Software by disabling the automatic Wireless Configuration Service

I have a problem with a Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop. When I start the system, the automatic Wireless Configuration Service is disabled and I have to go into Services and start physically whenever I start Windows (XP 32-bit sp3).

I think it's own software of Toshiba (Q-Connect/Summit?) it prevents start automatically with Windows, because everything else is as it should be.

Can you advise how to fix this so that the service always starts automatically and does not, during the trip, the settings for windows? Set up a wireless ad - hoc is quite difficult because there is no more headaches.

    See you soon,.

    John

    Hey Buddy,

It s I don't know ConfigFree turns off this feature of Windows... As far as I know it s necessary service for all WLAN configuration tools

Is manual start automatically, or simply the value type? You must assign it automatically.

By the way: what laptop do you have?

  • A security update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 for systems x 64 (KB954430) is not installed!

A security update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 for x 64-based systems (KB954430) is not installed. Windows Update fails to install this update and error reports: 64 C code. The off button displays an alert and when you place the mouse over it it shows "installs the updates and then shuts your computer." When I press it it says is to install the update and my computer shuts down and when I restart it it shows it is update and configuration of the update but when loading Windows Vista, in windows update, it shows that updated security for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 for systems x 64 (KB954430) becomes available again. I tried to manually install the update by downloading, but when trying to install windows install indicates: "the feature you are trying to use is on a network that is not available. Click OK to try again or enter a different path to the folder containing the installation package ' msxml.msi in the box below. »

MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB954430) and MSXML 4.0 SP2 appear in Control Panel programs and features. When I click on them the only option is 'an install. When I try to UN install these the same message appears when you try to install this update manually: "the feature you are trying to use is on a network that is not available. Click OK to try again or enter a different path to the folder containing the installation package ' msxml.msi in the box below. »

To try to solve this problem, I emptied historical Windows Update. I tried Windows Installer Cleanup to remove MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB954430) and MSXML 4.0 SP2 so I can reinstall it but Windows Installer Cleanup crashes and displays a command prompt with a lot of text.

If Windows Update has found that you don't need, you don't have to worry about this. They probably have fixed an error in the update system.

  • Wireless zero configuration service does not properly

    OK, here's what I did:

1A started with a fresh install of windows xp pro sp3

2 installed EDIMAX usb wireless adapter

3 downloaded all the critical updates available for the operating system

4 installed several other pieces of hardware, microsoft office, Photoshop, Avast antivirus, etc..

At different points along the way, the restore points were made.

Everything was hunky dory until the very last point to install a HP printer....

On his return from a restart of the system, cannot connect wireless adapter.

The window that lists the wireless connections available indicates that windows cannot configure the connections because some other wireless software apparently resumed its function.

He said that if I wanted to have windows set it up for me, I could restart it from services.msc.  When I arrived, I found the wireless configuration service was set to automatic, however she didn't start.

I then resumed, after started what it remained only for the rest of the session.  When the computer has been restarted, he returned to the same State as before.

I then tried all available system restore points, which could NOT be restored.

I tried to uninstall the faulty printer drivers and software, which also did not fix the problem.

In desperation, tried a Microsoft Fixit applet which is supposed to be a disable half dozen services known to cause this problem, but as far as I could tell, they have never been installed on this machine.

Does anyone have any other suggestions as to how I can resstore this system to work properly?

Number 1 (WPS2.0 HW PBC Service) is a service of Edimax associated your Edimax wifi card

Number 2 (Wired AutoConfig) is the built-in Windows service that is used with your wired (Ethernet) network card.  She appeared in XP service pack 3.

    Number 3 (Wireless Zero Configuration)
is the integrated service of Windows that configures your wireless adapter.  You can have only one service running to configure your wireless network card: is WZC or Edimax service.

"WPS" stands for "WiFi Protected Setup" and "PBC" is the term of Edimax for "Press the Configuration button."  These two relate to a method of security configuration of wireless networks that has been designed to allow 'users at home who know little of wireless security and may be intimidated by the available security options' to set the security on their wireless networks.  Unfortunately, WPS has found to have security holes (click the link to the Wikipedia article for more details).

In any case you don't need number 1, especially once your network has been configured with appropriate encryption.  As to why install a HP printer might have caused the problem, I can only speculate: is your printer a wireless printer?  If so, he may very well have included the version of HP of WPS... who have somehow damaged the Edimax installation.

  • Whenever I start the computer I lost the wireless capability. I get error WZC "871122". I then start the automatic Wireless Configuration service. Is there something I can do if I can't do it every time that this?

    Continually 871122 WZC error.

    Hi Shane,

Looks like you have (or had) 3rd party software that previously managed your wireless connections, so casting service windows does not start automatically.

    See the following Article in the Microsoft KB, see if it suits it for you;

    http://support.Microsoft.com/default.aspx/KB/871122

    More precisely:

If your computer or your wireless network card came with its own wireless network software, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, click run, type ncpa.cpl and click OK.
    2. Click on network connections.
    3. In network connections, select your wireless connection, and then click change settings of this connection.
    4. On the wireless networks tab, click to select the Use Windows to configure my wireless network checkbox.

To start the automatic Wireless Configuration service, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, click run, type %SystemRoot%\system32\services.msc/s, and then click OK.
    2. Double-click Wireless Zero Configuration.
    3. In the list of Startup type , click Automatic, and then click apply.
    4. In the Service status area, click Start, and then click OK.

Let me know how you go.
