Presario S3060AN desktop

I want to get a second hard drive.  All readers are unlocked by a plasticclip and are removed and introduced inside the openings of the front connector.  Slot five, which is for a second hard drive, has a plate of steel with two square holes, covering the front access. prevent a second hard drive installation. I don't see anyway to remove this plate - maybe its meant to be deleted not because it seems pretty permanent. Any ideas, anyone please?

There are perforations of the plate where you should be able to turn and remove.

See you soon,.

Here are the specifications of your Compaq Presario SR1909UK desktop and it is card mother A8M2N-(NodusM). There is a conflict in the two specifications for what CPU socket is actually used. The computer specifications claim a socket 939 CPU, while the motherboard plug State she has a socket AM2. You will need to examine your system to confirm what type of CPU and socket he did.

It can be difficult to locate a market after motherboard that will meet your needs as AM2 socket 939 about 5 years to 8 years and are several obsolete generation. • Compaq Presario SR1214NX desktop PC: update BIOS for SATA HDD?

    Hi CV Experts.

In 2004, I bought a HP Compaq Presario SR1214NX desktop PC. Now, leave the original hard drive and I bought a new Seagate 500 GB SATA hard drive. I thought that this would work because the PC MoBo has two SATA connectors. After installation, I noticed the drive is not detected. I checked the BIOS but not hard listed. The installed BIOS is "BIOS Award BIOS Core Version 6.0 revision 3.10 26/07/2004.» What can I do? Is there a BIOS update available?

    Help, please!

Do more research on this issue, I think that this motherboard may not have native support SATA. You can use ports SATA via Windows after you have installed the necessary drivers. I suggest that you add a primary as hard drive IDE PATA drive and load Windows. Post windows installation, install the necessary SATA drivers and plug the secondary drive SATA for use as a hard disk.

I'm sorry for all of the early confused communications.

Any v1.0, v1.1 or v2.0 PCIe x 16 graphics card, with the exception of the cards of ATI Radeon HD 54xx, should work on your computer. Keep in mind that the power of your computer's power supply will limit your choice of cards. Depending on the card you get, you may need to replace the power supply.

  • Upgrade to an integrated video (x 200) in a Presario SR1710NX desktop card

I have a Presario SR1710NX desktop computer with a 200 video card integrated xpress. The office also comes with a PCI Express connector. This is a refurbished office. The video card is good enough for what I want to do. Actually, can I switch to a better video card now in 2009? What would be a good upgrade? Is the PCI Express slot a PCIE x 16 compatible or able to put in a new video card. Ideally, I would like to put the one who has a memory of 512 MB which you can find in a store like best buy or Wal-Mart. Thank you.

You have an open pci express x 16 slot for a video card.

The upgrade should be easy, but keep in mind that you do not have a real powerful CPU so your ambitions like games and others must be modest, but you can certainly improve on the graphical subsystem integrated several times the same with a budget card.

The critics are raving about the Radeon HD 4xxx series and you can find a 4550 or 4650 for under $ 100

If so any suggestions on a decent type of video card and power supply upgrades that usually cost an arm and a leg. My video card is now integrated and the provision of my Poweer is 300W. Hello:

The Sapphire Radeon HD 6450 should work (even if the recommended power supply is 400W) fine.

The card will draw only a maximum of less than 30 Watts.

  • Upgrade a Compaq Presario SR5710F desktop computer

Hello, I'm recovering because as far as I can get out my Compaq Presario SR5710F desktop... right now there windows vista service pack 2 32-bit. The processor is an AMD Athlon 64 dual core 4450e to 2.3 GHz with 3 GB of ram at 800 MHz. First of all, since the processor is 64-bit, I was wondering if a windows 7 64 upgrade is recommended... Secondly, I know that even though I have a 64-bit processor, the maximum capacity of ram I have is 4 GB due to the motherboard, but with this card mother, is possible to increase the speed of greater than 800 MHz ram (for the motherboard specifications are hard to find). I was also thinking to replace the graphics card, but what I am seeing that will probably require a different diet and I am on a limited budget. Any suggestion? Please take into consideration the fact that this upgrade is not for games etc, its a home computer that I'm trying to be as updated as possible for a minimal cost. I am realistic, however, and I know it's an old PC. More I am not worried about existing programs (32-bit), I certainly intend on a new installation

    RickCraw,

Here are the specifications of your Compaq Presario SR5710F desktop computer and its card mother MCP61PM-HM (Iris8). According to the specification, this model has PCIe x 16 graphics card slot and a 250 watt power supply.

    (1) most retail graphics cards require a 300 watts or more big power supply system to work properly. Install a new graphics card to detail will require the replacement of power supply as well.

    (2) Yes, you can install Windows 7 64 bit on this computer. I recommend the upgrade of RAM at a minimum of 4 GB for use with a Windows 64-bit operating system.

    (3) NO, you cannot change the speed of the RAM. Your system is limited to the following specifications/configurations of memory;

    Dual channel memory architecture

    Two connectors DIMM DDR2 240-pin

    Supported DIMM types:

    PC2-4200 (533 MHz)

    PC2-5300 (667 MHz)

    PC2-6400 (800 MHz)

    Memory non - ECC, unbuffered

Supports DIMM DDR2 2 GB modules

    Supports up to 4 GB (2 x 2 GB = 4 GB)

  • Failed to upgrade memory Presario SR1800NX desktop PC

    Hello

I have a Presario SR1800NX desktop PC, for 4 years.  The HP "Product page" Web page for this computer shows installed at the factory 512 Mo PC2-3200, 240-pin, DDR2 SDRAM.

I removed the 512 MB factory card and installed a Crucial 1 GB DDR2 PC6400 800 MHz card ( http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Crucial+Technology+-+1GB+DDR2+UDIMM+Desktop+Memory/1359891.p?id=12182533... ).  Immediately after switching on machine beeps continuously and the screen remains black.  Tried another but idential Crucial 1 GB card and got the same failure.  Removed Crucial and card of 512 MB factory reinstalled and it works very well.

HP driver download webpage, I installed the update of the BIOS & update driver for ATI chipset.  The Crucial RAM still does not work.

This PC has a known issue with RAM PC6400?

I'm sorry, my brother, is not correct.

Index an SRAM card speed is maximum speed; It is backward compatible with the slower bus of the same type and form factor.

  • The recovery disks do not work for the hard drive replaced in my Presario CQ4010F desktop PC

    Hi all

I have a Compaq Presario CQ4010F Desktop PC (Windows 7 64-bit) in which the hard drive went bad. I bought a new hard drive which is a 1 to, the failed drive was 500 GB. So, I ordered disks system recovery, four in total. The disk labeled 'Use this first!' appear to be running fine, then prompted me to launch the next disc, which I assume is the 1 of 3 system recovery disk. With the computer, always, I inserted the CD 1 of 3 and have waited and watched as nothing has happened. I restarted the PC with the 3 disc 1 again and that will inspire nothing happened. Any help is appreciated in this matter.

    Hello:

If you can't get the recovery disks to work (don't make sure that the keyboard, mouse and monitor are connected), then you can make your own windows 7 installation DVD and use that to at least get windows 7 installed and your PC back to the operation.

    Here's how.

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.
