I currently have a Norton Security Scan icon on my sidebar icon list.  I uninstalled the program, I don't know how she even had it installed since I have McAfee and Windows Defender, but the stupid icon won't go away.  I have tried right clicking 'delete', but it says that it cannot find the file, so it will not remove the icon. The easiest way is to reinstall the program > removes the icon > uninstall the program again.

But you can not reinstall norton, as you now McAfee installed as your AV.

  • Cannot delete the desktop icon: Network Magic?

Running Windows 7 64-bit HP.  Network Magic is installed as a 30 day trial when I've upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 (why I've never waited so long?). I uninstalled by getting in pure Networks/Setup...etc; It's, I think I've done the proper uninstall. However, I can't get rid of his Network Magic Folders icon on my desktop. I can't even move the icon on the desktop. Right click gives: open and create a shortcut.  Selecting open doesn't do nothing, shortened by selecting creates a shortcut on the desktop that can be deleted. Suggestions?

EDIT: Here's an answer essentially the same question (http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7desktop/thread/3a90c945-1072-4bb7-9afc-ec8df2cee03b).  However, I'm not good in the registry to work, I can't go wrong with it as I don't know if the answer is there.

    That did the trick:

    Delete this key...

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\ {C55C499D-3518-44a1-998E-796AC5FC989D}]

The color chart is grey and when I go to load, it goes into a doc file and not the Adobe application folder. Photos below.

Please do not hesitate to send me an email and or call [personal information deleted by Moderator]. I'll be outside a lot today but it will end in a different program.

    O

I think you misunderstand load swatches command.

.Acb files that appear dimmed are books of color and they are already installed. Instead of load swatches, use new shade of color, you can choose a book of color in the color Mode menu:

Color chart of charge is used to load a set of shades from a .ase file saved from an Adobe application or other document of identity.

  • Cannot change the font color on the desktop icons

I am running windows vista. I can't change the font as in windows xp. No matter if the background is dark or the police is always black... Help!

    Hello

Thanks for posting the question in Microsoft Answers.

    I apologise for the inconvenience.

Unfortunately, you cannot change the font color of desktop.

Because desktop wallpaper images have different colors, it is easy for the colors of unreadable fonts if they are on top of the same color in a background image to display. For example, a black font on top a dark part of the background image or a white font on a white part of a background image.

The desktop icon fonts are dynamic and show white on dark background and change in white with a shadow effect black on a light background.

In previous versions of Windows, it did not matter what color you chose to fund policies, some would still make invisible because of the background color of a desktop wallpaper. The user was constantly moving icons around the desktop computer to another colorful area where the police could be read. This was the source of a large number of complaints from users asking for a policy that was still visible, regardless of the color that was behind the police.

However, you can change the theme and see if that helps:

    Change desktop theme:

Hope this information helps. Let us know if you need additional assistance. We are happy to help you.
