Presario sr1339uk cpu
Hello
I thought I would upgrade my old Pentium 4 cpu, a Presario with Pentium 4 2.93 Ghz 515 sr1339uk to a 'maxed out' Pentium 4 3.8 Ghz Hyper-threading, 64-bit and VT - x support-672 one of the 2 who supported VT - x (662 and 672) according to HP download.
Once that happens there is everything I need to know or do on the motherboard when I install it? Config, riders, etc.?
Also, the bios is pretty standard and cannot see config or grayed out options for the new specification, is HT, VT - x as is? automatic... so to speak.
This is the correct cpu and the highest spec that I could continue and the bios has the last update.

Update to: P4 HT 672 listed here below.
Hello:
I really hope you are right about everything. Where did you get this information?
Do you know if this cette mise implementation update BIOS, including support for the latest processors, included the 662/672
I don't think the PC will support the 672.
The 670 3.8 GHz, Yes. 672, no.
I also think that the BIOS does not support VT
On the PC, the only thing that needs to be done is a permutation of processor.
No riders, etc.
If the PC starts and works very well, so the processor is working. Support for the BIOS settings should now appear.
If it isn't, you has not forgotten the steps of the installation process.

Compaq presario cq5500f: Cpu - amd phenom x 4 quad core 9950
Hello
I recently bought the quadruple-heart phenom x 4 125w 9950 and wanted to update my one heart amd sempron 140.
I bought with the intention to upgrade my compaq presario cq5500f so that I can use it as a gaming pc.
However, when I put the cpu in the pc it says no "supported installed Cpu" and then it stops automatically after.
Is this a driver problem? Is this a bios problem? Is this a problem of design of thermal power?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Here IS THE page of the motherboard and the choice of the CPU. He says that the CPU should be TDP: 95W processor said is the AMD Phenom X 4 9950, which is a 125W CPU. I suspect that's the reason why the BIOS claims not supported CPU. OEM motherboards are picky about the card like that.

Presario SR5100 - CPU fan failure / BIOS firmware update
My SR5125CL Office does not start even after replacing the CPU fan. Error: The CPU fan has failed.
Some sites, I searched recommended deactivation/check the fan under the hardware > monitor in the BIOS.
Cannot find this menu in the BIOS. Attempted to upgrade the BIOS from:
http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?OS=2093&LC=en&cc=us&DLC=en&sw_lang=&product=3460...use a different PC and it just tries to install on this PC. No options to create an update CD. Looking for other sites, same lame upgrade that involves running the OS. Even if the PC boots long enough to upgrade the firmware, it is now Windows 7 and the patch is only for Vista.
I'll win the volunteers here and explain others to profit from my mistake. I took out the old fan to match. When I installed the fan nine days later I have it plugged into the outlet of case fan. For a CPU fan, it is not the BIOS. In any case, similar problems on the forum gave me the idea to look for another job from outlet and it is.
Thank you

Compaq Presario V5204NR: CPU Intel Celeron M 410 compatible Bios upgrade/replacement
I'm to boost the performance of my laptop dated. He has 2gigs of RAM and I don't remember what speed but I want to move to a faster processor. What can manage my bios?
I am wanting to know if I can upgrade a Core Duo or Core 2 Duo. I read online that I can switch to a Core Duo but it the new processor has to match the speed of the FSB of the current processor?
The FSB speed should match the RAM speed or vice versa? I'm still new to all this computer jargon and terminology.
Upgrade the hard drive to a faster speed would also improve performance? I don't remember if I have a speed of 5400 or 7200 RPM. How big can I go?
Thank you!
I got the Intel T1350 installed and it works. No doubt seems to work better than the Celeron M 410.

Hello. I would be eternally grateful if someone can help me identify the processors will work with my system.
The HP site says that my system supports up to Pentium 4 Hyper Threading 3.8 GHz processor.
The main reason is if I install Windows7 operating system.
I bought a CPU on eBay but it does not work when it was inserted. When you turn on the PC, no light illuminates and the system does not start. When you look at the inside of the case of the processor cooling fan works, but that's all. No lights or anything else, not even the fan starts.
The processor is a Pentium 4 HT 661 SL96H 3.6 GHz 2 MB 800 MHz LGA775
My system is...
Compaq Presario SR1339uk
Serial number: {removed privacy}
System number: PS267AA
Motherboard: Asus PTGD1 - LA
Chipset: I915P Northbridge
Southbridge ICH6 Intel i/o Controller Hub 6
BIOS version: 3.28 23/01/06
Operating system: Windows XP Home Edition 32-bit
Any help much appreciated... Thank you...
Sorry for not being clear. I mentioned all processors in HT 6 series like 64-bit processors supported.

Not sure what's going on here, but here is a suggestion on how to properly install manually the update of the BIOS.
Assume that you download SP26760.exe (BIOS 3.28)
Start the update - go to the last message you get before it fails and stop. (must be where it prompts you to close the applications and will be saved).
Open a DOS (command prompt). You must be an administrator - so if you're running Vista or Win7 - make sure that 'run as administrator ' at the opening of the box.
Once in the BACK, type:
CD FOLDER
go the the directory of temporary files.
Then make a
DIR /S 328.LE ROM
to find the directory where the update files are located. Type CD < directory name > to go in this directory (on my system, it was a folder called pft467D.tmp, but it might be different on your)
CD pft467D.tmp
Now manually invoke (the prompt back, no windows or the windows file manager) the update, with the appropriate switches. By omitting the switches can cause other problems, as have reported activation of Windows problems.
AFUWIN /i328. ROM /pbc
For reference, on my system, here's what I saw in these folders:
C:\Users\sumsolstice\AppData\Local\Temp\pft467D.tmp > dir
Volume in drive C is DRIVE_C
Volume serial number is FE8F-4AA6Directory of C:\Users\sumsolstice\AppData\Local\Temp\pft467D.tmp

It should work OK, however no guarantee if there's something else - but essentially - that's what the installer should do. If this does not work for you - I wouldn't try to force things - you can make a good motherboard unusable quickly.
For those who are looking to this announcement - the syntax is for this motherboard only - switches may be different for different motherboards.
Good luck.!

Hello
What are the options, if any, I have RAID on a Presario SR1339UK? I picked up some cheap raptors and want to run them in RAID0.
I'm not interested in recovery on this machine that I already use snapshots and imaging, can I add RAID and if necessary any recommendation?... hardware/software configuration,?
Thanks again
If you use Windows XP there is a original RAID driver available on the web download supportal secction.
If you use a newer operating system such as Windows Vista or Windows 7, your best option would be to buy a PCI RAID controller card and install it in one of the three empty PCI slots on your motherboard. I suggest sticking to SATA1 as PCI is a rather slow bus.

Compaq Presario C700: Compaq Presario C700 maximum upgrades. CPU/SODIMM
Hello
Please answer suite
1. how to get the maximum for components upgrades
CPU / SODIMM given the configuration of the model Compaq Presario C797EE mentioned at the end.
2. Why is there BIOS ver F.35 for Presario C700 when later offered is the worm F.34 bios on HP web. What is the difference. Where can I find both to be uploaded with the release notes. New BIOS on model C797EE allows processors support Intel Core 2 Duo X 9000 and PC6400 SODIMM for 8 GB?
3. There is evidence of success update here. Only difference is its Compaq Presario C797EE but C771US not and was able to upgrade CPU Core 2 Duo T9300. Is it possible to upgrade series C700 (C797EE) to Intel C2d Extreme X 9000 processor. If this is not the case, what is the max for the chip set used in C797EE.
4 NT are different for Intel T9300 and others by 35W 44W or any other factor, will they perform the upgrade, if yes then please provide last possible list compatible CPU my current chip-set
Comparative analysis of the applications here are showing different results. Please see Sandra chipset readings compare to the results of CPU - Z.
I will be grateful
Thank you.

Hello, just let everyone know that my upgrade worked.
-Processor
Updated for intel T9300 as reference. probably could support the x 9000, but it was much more expensive is not a value
-Memory:
I was skeptical with past more than 4 GB, however, currently functioning 6 GB (2 X 4). foung are not accidents of errors due to modules. Works perfectly.
. After these updates, I installed small SSD, which added to the startup that gave more boost to the system.
. Replaced the DVD with Caddy drive through visruth, installed with 1 TB
. Replaced with 12 cells battery
Conclusion:
This unit of 8 years demonstrated startup, transformation and loading speeds that could be compared to couple of old machines, 6 GB working memory space that can accommodate witout heavy programs using the file (actually disabled) Exchange and on the storage of Tera bytes to store every necessary thing making the year becomes mordern General phone use. Only thing that is not dealing with it is the graphics card. Besides that all is well, infact it runs more more fees than before.
Thanks for your advice

I was looking to upgrade the CPU on my Presario CQ5320F, for most popular processors in the list on the HP site for my computer. I don't know how I got it done, but it does not work. I bought two of the processors by mistake. The code on the processors that I bought is "HDZ955FBK4DGM", which seems to be the processor in the list of compatible processors on the HP website.

Thank you for giving me the answer. I guess it's time to look for a new motherboard now.
No doubt, it would be nice if someone let HP know this, so people like me would not try to use this processor with the motherboard.
