Prevent covers Album in Windows Media Player download

I spent a lot of time fixingand manually editing my music with images 500x500px album art.
I read the article on http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7music/thread/6ff8c9fd-d97f-4304-bad5-693f7dbb4532/ but is not my problem - I can add the work that I need.

The problem I have is that Windows Media Player is updated online and replace my work 500x500px with the work of the database online 200x200px. In addition, it creates all the files small work of 75x75px that are cluttering the My Music folder.

I put retrieve additional information from the Internet on No, and I put Update music files by retrieving media information from the Internet so too, but it will still online.

I used Wireshark to determine that he goes to the following addresses:
redir.metaservices.windowsmedia.com.akadns.NET
serviceswitching.Metadata.windowsmedia.com.akadns.net

I blocked these addresses on my router but WMP is to find a way around. I looked in the registry and there is nothing about to totally disable the download of work (although this should already be disabled with set options).

I can put the Folder.jpg files read-only and you will avoid WMP to overwrite my files 500x500px, but I don't want it creates the files AlbumArtSmall. Richard Green, MCSA Windows Server 2003

easy... just completely block the windows media player by using your firewall... or add these addresses as 127.0.0.1 (redir.metaservices.windowsmedia.com.akadns.net; serviceswitching.metadata.windowsmedia.com.akadns.net)
in the HOSTS file.

    Hi JamesKelly,

  • How to view Russian characters in tracks and Albums in Windows Media Player?

When using English Windows 7, Windows Media Player does not display correctly Russian (Cyrillic) characters: it displays is not readable (even in Russia) defines characters. However, Windows can display names of files or texts in Russian without problem. DIF is associated with MP3 tags are not properly displayed

Here is my answer to my problem.

Download TagScanner, install, learn to use, etc.

My problem was that the file properties have been locked into iTunes or Windows Media Player.

I opened WIndows Explorer to the location of the Users\me\downloads file and right click the file.  Under properties, I've unlocked the file so that I could change it.

I went using the prompt c:\\ to c:\\users\me\downloads and found the file.  There was no extension.  I noticed that when I double clicked it to play in WMP.  I had only one.  I've renamed the sid file; hlkh.* to *.mp3.

Then I had a glance again and he appeared in the section ahead of TagScanner under the c:\\users\me\downloads path.

All tags appararurent again in gibberish.  I tried the command to convert the tags, but it did not work.  I could, but using the tag editor renaming the artist, Album, title, etc. to hand title, typing in the info.

I had a thought that I might be able to translate the gibberish, if I dropped in Word and stressed and chose a Russian police.  It worked.  I received the labels they had put in.  Unfortunately, they were "Unknown Album" "unknown work" "unknown performer" (in Russian).  So I had to manually insert the tags I wanted.

In any case, I can now modify the tags or if they are labeled specifically I can translate the tags with my cut and glue and convert into Word method.

If anyone has an easier way please let me know.  I would be NOT having to enter all the tags manually, but it's better than gibberish.

  • Can't burn to a single disc album in Windows Media Player 12

I recently bought the Daft Punk album Random Access memories-memories from the play of Google store. I downloaded the album on my PC and I want to burn a copy of it for a trip on the road ahead. Although the album is less than 80 minutes (74:35), I can't get Windows Media Player 12 the entire album on one disc. Is it possible to adjust all the parameters to fit the album on one disc?

    Thank you!

Problem solved! You insert a blank disc first so that Windows Media Player knows how much space drive. Otherwise it is an assumption, I think.

  • Multi-disc Albums in Windows Media Player

I mainly use the Zune software for music, but I use WMP for music between computers.

I have a number of two record albums, that Zune allows me to specify that the two disks of the same album, which allows me to keep the numbers of tracks (1 to X on each disc) and the order (Dsik 1, 1-X; Disc 1-Y 2).

When I go to my music in WMP, however, it displays disc 1 track 1, track 2 1 disc, disc 1 track 2, etc.).

Anyway so set up, like the Zune program so that I can have my songs in order without having to renumber WMP?

Unfortunately, WMP does not account disk numbers when sorting of tracks, and there is no built-in setting to change this. However, the next major release of my Windows Media Player Plus! plugin will have a setting to WMP using the disk for sorting numbers. I'm hoping to release this new version early next year. • How can I copy albums of Windows Media Player on my computer?

    1. How can I copy and record albums in my Windows Media Player library on my computer?

Do you mean pull them up in your computer?  or do you mean copy them to media player, so you can play them elsewhere?

If you want to say, put a CD, select the extract and select those you want to extract.
If the latter, then go to your music folder and find the album you want.

  • Windows Media Player find manually the info from the album when selected.

I'm looking to "find album info" by right-clicking on the album in Windows Media Player 12 on Windows 7. After clicking on it, the dialog box appears and a small globe in the upper left corner turns for a few seconds, then stops and nothing happens. I waited a few hours to make sure. Stay right on the white screen of white. It worked fine with no new changes two days ago and now it is not. I checked to make sure that I work online and am. Retrieve additional information from the internet are checked and media files updated to retrieve information from the internet is selected too. I can connect and browse the stores online through WMP so I don't know that it needs to connect to the internet.

Nevermind, I found the answer to someone else.  I had to disable Internet Access Manager. For some reason, that it will not allow WMP to connect to internet to download the info from the album.

  • Windows Media Player does not play the songs from the album in the correct order

Hiya, had this problem for as long as I can remember. When playing an album with Windows Media Player with Windows 7, it will play all the songs that start with 1 first so for example track 1 then etc. 11 then 12 then finally back to 2. Also happens if I put albums on sd/usb cards and play through my car stereo.

Do all titles should be renamed 01, 02, 03 etc?

And just to confirm that shuffle is inactive lol

It is possible that the tracks will be will play in the mess if you play from Windows Explorer (although I have been unable to reproduce this on my Windows 7 system). To avoid this, make sure that the titles are added to the WMP library and play from there.

If you want to keep playing the Explorer, you can indeed rename 01, 02, 03 etc, you suggested already yourself. You can also switch to the Details view and sort by track number by clicking on the column # .

  • the Windows media player 11 - media format 11 runtime is missing?

Hi, I have windows media player version 11 11.06, don't ask me how I have this version that I can't even download site of microsoft, but it seems that I'm missing media format 11 runtime, that would allow me to get the details of my cd on internet, have put them manually is a pain.  can anyone help me on how to solve this problem, thanks in advance.

    Hi Luke-1066,

    (a) on the computer what edition of Windows operating system do you use?

    (b) how did you get the information that media format runtime 11 is missing? Do you get any error messages?

    (c) referring you to download media usage rights? I would like to know if it is something else

By default, Windows Vista comes with Windows Media Player 11

Version 11.6001 indicates that Windows Vista Service pack 1 is present on the computer, and the version 11.6002 indicates that Windows Vista Service pack 2 is present on the computer.

For player to automatically download usage rights , download usage rights automatically when I play or sync a file option must be turned on (by default, it is enabled). To check that it is enabled, follow these steps:

    In Windows Media Player

    1. click on the arrow on the reading tab, click Other Options, and then click the Privacy tab.

    2. check that the box download usage rights automatically when I play or sync a file is selected.

Also, the Player downloads album art; Please see the link below for more information

  • Error in Windows Media Player, Windows Media Player is not installed correctly and must be reinstalled. You want to install the Player from the Microsoft Website

I don't know how or why it happened, but one day to another, WMP won't open. I tried to open an MP3 file, and he says that WMP has not been correctly configured "Windows Media Player is not installed correctly and must be reinstalled. Do you want to install the player from the Microsoft Website? ».

I assumed that since I had to make some updates yesterday, that he was at fault, it had installed an update/new version of WMP and it was either buggy or doesn't work do not, so I went to the Windows updates, but no recent updates on the list had a remote connection with Windows Media Player.

So, I accept the first proposal of the error message, and I'm headed to the Windows Media Player download page on the Microsoft Website. However, the version I should install (which was the one I already had) has Windows Media Player 12 for Windows 7. But this option is locked for me, and as I tried to install it, it says it is not compatible with my system. Not to mention, it's a whole package and not just the WMP installation.

I tried everything and nothing seems to work. It won't even let me uninstall WMP because it won't let me open.

My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. And the error messages that I get to try to launch any WMP feature (the tool, the installation program, no matter what), opens an error window stating that "there is a more recent version of Windows Media (12.0.7601.18150) player already installed on your computer. It is not possible to use and more old (12.0.7601.17514) installation package to install files or repair your current version of the reader. »

Please, I ask for any intervention in this case.

This arises from time to time, but I don't think that there is a difficulty of 100%.

You can try (in no particular order)

    1. uninstall, reboot, reinstall WMP- http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/26107/how-to-reinstall-windows-media-player-in-windows-7-to-solve-problems/ if that doesn't help, try a SFC/scannow check - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
    2. There is this diagnostic tool - http://support2.microsoft.com/mats/windows_media_player_diagnostic/ that can help (from http://support2.microsoft.com/fixit/en-us?wa=wsignin1.0 )
    3. You could try a system restore to a date before the problem occurred to see if that helps - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/system-restore-faq#1TC=windows-7 and see if it gets a WMP work back
    4. Last resort, a repair install - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html
    5. Or just simply forget about WMP and try another party 3rd multimedia player that you can install and uninstall at will, as free VLC - http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

But it may be worth waiting a while to see if someone else has a better solution.

  • Downloaded the album doesn't play no not on Windows Media Player

I recently bought a movie that included the soundtrack download. I downloaded the soundtrack the same day that I ripped several other CD on my computer. I encountered a problem where for some reason, everything was put in my document rather than windows media player, which never happened to me before, so I transferred both downloaded album all CDs ripped on a playlist on windows media player. When I was unable to get transferred to my library, I gave up for the day and thought a few days to think about that I could understand it. I came home last night and all the albums themselves had moved into my library, with the exception of the downloaded album, and when I clicked it, a message comes up saying windows media could not find the file and that if I tried to burn, rip, or sync and the album that represents the position in my library, can point to an album that has been moved renamed, or deleted. I went to move my documents once again, but he was no longer there and the only place where I can find it is in the playlist, where it does not. I tried redownloading it, but it's a download time. I ran the windows media control and he says he has a corrupted file but don't tell me what to do to this topic or even what the corrupted file was for sure, but I guess it was the downloaded item. If anyone has ideas of how to do to solve this problem it would be greatly appreciated

Unfortunately, it was a Web site that has been created strictly for downloads, and when I click on the download that put it directly in the folder my documents, where I had to then transfer to my playlist, so I think he just didn't upload properly

I am able to use the album art display. simply not 3D covers. Ive tried everything I can think of. can you help me

I can only guess, but it is perhaps due to a limitation of your
video driver... it might be worth a try to update.
