The clean boot method can help identify what is happening when you start or stop programs
or services. Some programs which have automatic updaters on startup may always be updated
manually if removed. Startup does not control the Windows updates.

Be careful that a lot of these programs and services really needs to run and often remove
a few fact little to accelerate the machine while making the less easy to use machine.

  • How can I remove programs from starting when the system boots.

REMOVE AN ARTICLE FROM THE START UP PROGRAMS

Whenever I start my computer, it opens and begins to operate more than one program automatically. One is pinned to the taskbar, but others are not. How can I tell the computer which I do not wish for the programs at startup? Any help you might be able to give is gratefully received. Thank you.

    Download Autoruns http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902

Start the program and click the Connect tab uncheck the entries that you do not want to start.

Not uncheck anything that you are not sure you know what it is. Your computer may not work correctly or may not even start.

You can also look at the options of programs that start automatically. It may be possible to disable them.

Look in the startup folder in the start all programs Menu. Right click and delete any entries that you don't want.

  • computer automatically starts in safe mode without prompting, a problem with your computer might be preventing Windows from start normally__

computer automatically starts in safe mode without prompting, a problem with your computer can prevent Windows to start normally

Do you know when this problem started?  Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started.  Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two.  NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates.

If the system restore does not work, do a startup repair, boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista genuine (or one that you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc.  Here is the procedure: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html.  You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

If you do not have a floppy disk, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD.

  • How to properly install shield so I can remove unused programs from my system?

How I have difficulty or install the component 'install sheild' in my system so I can delete unwanted programs?

Thank you for your answer to my question.  The software, I'm trying to delete is Illimina. The steps I am taking are; got to control panel, click Add/Remove programs and click on the program to remove.  Once I click on the program - it starts to boot and then stops.  Immediately after the stop, a message appears on the screen that reads, "engine InstallShield (ikernel.exe) could not be launched.  Without this interface supported. "  Let me add that I have not used this laptop since 2004.  I downloaded all the necessary updated and improved to explore 8 and still get the same results.  I hope that's enough detail, if it not is not please let me know.

    Thanks again for your response.

    Thanks for providing the information.

I'm afraid I can't give you a specific patch.  Often, application uninstalling problems can be cured by the re-installation of the application and then uninstall.  In addition, InstallShield usually directs users having problems with the Publisher of the application are installed or uninstalled. I did not, however, any application, called "Illimina", and he could no longer exist.

It's the advice given by InstallShield to treat the error message you received:http://consumerdocs.installshield.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=Q108521&sliceId=1 I suggest you on the 5 "troubleshooting steps" listed at the bottom of the document.

If the update of iKernal does not work, see http://consumerdocs.installshield.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=Q108322&sliceId=1 unfortunately, this document assumes that you have the software installation program in order to determine which version of the InstallShield engine for download and reinstall.  You may be able to find an uninstaller or the installation with the version information file in the directory C:\Program Files\ for Illimina, but it's not likely.

Finally, try to uninstall the application free Revo Uninstaller using - but your application may have been installed with technology that predates the information Revo includes how to use.

    Hello

Without knowing the programs you want to disable, I'll start by saying that I can't be responsible for adverse effect to the normal operation of your system.

    That said...

    • Click Start
    • Type msconfig and press enter
    • Click on the Startup tab

You will see checkboxes for programs that run at startup.

Or you can use a more comprehensive tool called autoruns...

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx

Maybe is a better way to explore the settings for the programs themselves, there is often a check box for "do not run at startup.
