  My first great application is now complete and I'm about to do a setup of all my files. In the attempt to make my application bulletproof, I came across a possible scenario with a bad result.

  A little info: my application gathers a number that the user input and some readings of voltage of an acquisition of data. Because I have much skill in the formatting of an Excel sheet in Labview, I did everything in Excel. When the data comes by adding shape Labview, my Excel spreadsheet formats cellcolors, calculates data and creates some dynamic graphs that develops when the data are added. So, as you can understand, I spent my whole day layout of this monster-sheet-Excel file.

  Users can open the Excel-sheet form simple press of a button in the Labview program. I did not a dialog box to the user to choose the path to the excel sheet, in other words, the path is static in my code.

  BUT... Then it hits me. What happens if the user deletes the file or destroys the formatting?

  Since I already choose to fit excel sheets in Excel I'll stick with this. That's why I ask you; How do you manage this with your applications?

  Can Labview access a read only file, insert the data and when users open the file they can't change it? As change a read-only file for writing, insert data, then change new read-only.

  What would be the best way to manage the data files?

  I thought this question during a good night's sleep. Today, I talked to my boss and he said that I had an extra month to complete the project due to latency on the client side. So I think using all your advice:

  1. make all the formatting in Labview and create a new file if the original file does not exist or is moved.

  2. copy the data and allow the user discovers, to make a backup of the local computer on our server.

  3. write a good manual and inform users how to use the software.

  I had this in mind from the beginning, but when I got the original deadline, time started to run and I had to do a quick fix and do any of the formatting in Excel. Especially the Council Excel on this forum help me a lot

  I need to prevent users to install (and download) of new programs in Windows 7. I am responsible for three computers. They are not on one network (other than the internet, of course).

  I read the article "How to prevent users from installing new programs in Windows 7" but I'm not sure what choice to make when I get to the choice of Windows Installer. I'm also not quite know how to cancel that so I can install the software when I have to. I've never done this if I want to be very careful.

  Are their accounts 'Administrator' or 'Standard' user level?

  If they are directors of the machine, and then create a new Admin account (only you know the password) and then lower their Standard user accounts. If they attempt to install programs now it should be prompted to enter the Admin password that they won't.

  If their accounts are accounts administrator and for some reason must be a competent user, then will probably be able to undo everything you put up anyway.

  My question is this. I have a 2D array that stores the Lat/Lon each waypoint. I's like to have posted on my

  front tabular, with WP # (the 1st dimension array index), Lat and Lon on line, like this.

  

  More importantly, have the user can select a point of full path (or just the number of WP would be ok) and remove it using key DELETE or any other button on the Panel.

  I am at a loss on how to do it. Ideas?

  You said that you were using a table. I suggest using a multicolumn listbox. In this way, you can change the selection mode to "highlight the whole line. You can use a structure of the event to respond to the user by pressing the delete key. See attached simple example. Note that some keyboard can label the BACKSPACE key as 'delete '. If you want to answer it, you also have to see if the Char value is 8, which is the code for this key.

  When I create an AcroForm, it does not have the same thing when someone doesn't fill it out in preview, and when I get the form back from them, some of the information in the fields of the form is missing.

  You can't stop them to do (except while standing next to their computer with a big stick).

  I had an account with complete administration and he's doing a backup of Windows, but the other user is allowed to force closing down since the other user is always log-in (locked).

  I suggest you follow these methods and check.

  If you have Windows 7 Ultimate or Professional Editions follow method 1, if you have Windows 7 Home Premium or lower editions go to method 2

  Method 1: Change the settings of group policy and see.

  You can configure the policy setting determines which users can shut down the local computer. Navigate to the following location in the Management Console (GPMC, Group Policy),

  Click the Start button, type gpedit.msc in the search field.

  Navigate to the following location:

  Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\User Rights Assignment\ Shut down the system

  Double click stop the system, select the user group you want to disable and click Remove > apply > OK.

  Simply restart your PC and connect users to check if the function disable and remove Shutdown account works.

  Method 2:

  a. must turn off and remove Shutdown option by using the registry editor.  Open the registry editor, navigate to the following path: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

  b. Select Explorer in the left pane, right-click in the right pane and select new > DWORD; then name it as NoClose.

  c. double-click NoClose, and replace the value Hex 1; Click OK, and then close the registry editor.

  d. restart, you'll be able to disable and remove the Windows 7 Edition stop Home Premium or less in this way.

  Do central web authentication for a wireless network of comments I'm deployment ISE 1.4 for a customer. Guest access works very well, however the customer asked me to prevent users to save user names and passwords in the browser.

  I don't see anywhere to prevent this thought the GUI of ISE, which leads me to think that we will need to change the HTML Portal.

  Point 1.2 of the ISE, Cisco provide documentation and code to do so at the following ADDRESS:

  These instructions do not work for ISE 1.4 as the guest access menus have changed. In particular, only advanced customization that appears to be available is to download a file EHT CSS customize it and downloading to the ISE.

  From my limited HTML knowledge, customize the file CSS only allows me to change the appearance of the portal, not the functionality.

  Did someone knows if it is possible to cut the custom HTML code and install it on ISE 1.4? Looking through the release notes, this has been replaced in point 1.3 of the ISE when they Redid the feedback portal menuss.

  I have a requirement where there are two fields: "Enter the email address" and "Re-enter E-mail address. The form should not allow the user to copy - paste the email address in the field enter again. It must be entered manually. Is it possible through javascript? Or by setting the properties of the form with LiveCycle Designer? I use the version of the Es4. I am aware that I can restirct user copy the content in the form. Solution for bonding of retrict will be highly appreciated.

  You can check if the Ctrl key is pressed while the new value is entered in a field.

  If you can at least avoid pasing via Ctrl + V key combination.

  I currently develop BEEP 11.1.1.5 reports based on Excel models.
  
  We noticed that most of our users generating huge reports.
  These reports are too heavy to be e-mailed, but end users don't know and they always try to the report and selecting 'Calendar Destination' Email.
  These e-mails are not delivered due to our policy of mail (send no more than 4 MB) and they all call me to find out why they have not received their datas.
  
  The solution to avoid it would be not to use FTP, but as they are end-users that they don't care.
  As long the will see the Email from 'Destination calendar' in the list that they would use it...
  
  So I would like to know if someone know a solution to remove from the list 'Annex Destination' Email?

  Well, I've studied this problem in BIP11g. Here is my conclusion:

  1. either not configured Email as a channel of distribution or
  2. you must specifically assign the permission of Planner for certain groups or users.

  There's no other way.

  Note that each WLS user who is authenticated in BIEE/BIP 11 g automatically inherits the role of Application BIConsumer and therefore permission to TWEET Scheduler. Thus, one suggestion is to remove this permission to role of Application BIConsumer if you don't want everyone to be able to schedule reports BEEP.

  Is it possible to configure a workstation in such a way that they would make newspaper-on the system using only a user ID?
  Currently all users can connect from any workstation using his ID and password. I want to avoid this.

  The USER is a user who uses a WS-1 station,
  B the USER is a user who uses WS-2 workstation,
  USER-C is a user using the workstation WS-3
  then currently USER 1, USER 2 and USER-3 can log - on the system from any workstation using a credential.
   
  I want to avoid this.
   
  What I want is, WS-1 workstation can only be connected to the USER-A credentials, the WS-2 workstation can only be connected by the credentials of the USER-B and so on.

  You're in the wrong Forum for this type of question which is one most appropriate for the ad server and group policy (with possibly the local policy on the workstations).  I would move this if I could, but we do not have this feature in our magic Toolbox.

  If not, then open a new question/thread in this same forum http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/ and ask your question there.  I am sure that you will get detailed advice covering both sides of the situation (Server and workstation) better than here where there is a tendency to focus only on client computers, not servers, unless that quite simple (and being an MCSE, I know that's not really simple - but it also isn't really very difficult if you understand the basics - and even then they should be able to help) to find articles or provide instructions to pass you this part).  I have no doubt that they can also bring about changes, you need to establish which are specific to the workstation (and maybe even have a model of batch file to semi-automate the process - but now I'm guessing / hoping).

  In any case it is really where you should start and return only if explain you what it is about the customers that they cannot handle and need us to help you (because I can't imagine that happening).

  I have a HD attached used only for backup. When I change the guest user attached the HD content is accessible. I tried to change the permissions for the disk 'all', using the information, 'no access' window (without blocking) that seemed to make the case, but a quick search gave terrible warnings about changing permissions, so I came back to the unsatisfactory "read only". Change return 'each' to 'No access' would be a bad move.  If so what can restrict the guest access to the HD (besides of course the disconnection of the latter!) attached.
