Print background ID CS5 disable when exporting pdf

Is there a way to turn off background printing when you export to PDF in InDesign CS5?

I really prefer the way pdf-export was done in the foreground, as it has been since InDesign 1.0.

An option where you could choose between forground and background printing would be nice because I'm sure that there are people who want background printing. Otherwise why would Adobe suddenly it, in my opinion, stupid change?

There is no way to disable since Indesign 'out of the box', but there is a way to use a script for a "foreground" export, have a look here. And if you are not familiar with the use of scripts have a look here too!

When exporting in format PDF of CS5 ID I saw do move and disappear.

Did tests since my post on linked tread and discover, with PDF / X_1a:2001 (PDF version 1.3), it works fine. But when I use PDF version 1.4 and above fonts randomly disappears. See first photo below.

OK, for me it's just going to print, but with 1.3 we lose the link hyperlink and bookmarks if used in other media.

Have seen policies to move when exporting to PDF, (second photo), and in this case, there is no way of doing things with the options mentioned above. Only way is he right was to outline the police... and PS - Distiller has worked as well.

I've found my workaround, but I would really trust the export as a PDF in the future is the way Adobe advice we used.

Workaround solution 1. Use PDF 1.3 version

    Solution 2.

(The application folder), Adobe Indesign CS5 - Presets

Create a new folder - PPDs

Put (ADPDF8. PPD or ADPDF9. PPD) in this folder. (I had a backup of these files, can not find them online...!)

Allows to print PS of InDesign and use Distiller.

OK, I have reproduced the two issues and connected bug reports for them to be the subject of an investigation. I don't think that they are associated with other issues that have been discussed on the previous thread. They are two specific fonts, change the text to use another font makes problems disappear. So there is a chance that the fonts have some problems that make them sensitive to the problems. Debugging the development team should tell us more. Thanks for your help with this.

  • Overview of the issues when exporting pdf from InDesign

    Hello

I'm working on PC, Windows 7, InDesign of CS5. I had several problems with executives of color filled not appearing is not in the preview of an exported pdf file, different file, same problem. The files 'prints' very well. For example, I have a page that contains a logo, two lines of text in the Arial font, two photo .jpg (CMYK) and a background color solid process. When I export to PDF (I tried all the options available to me) the colorful background does not appear in the preview. I can send this file to the printer and it prints exactly as set upward in InDesign. I also systematically deleted each item separately and re-exported the same results each time. I even deleted everything on the page with just the colorful box. Same result. I did drag the elements on a page in a new document. Same result.

Thoughts? Does anyone else know this? I looked for further discussions on this topic, but couldn't find one just like her.

    Thank you!

  • printer is not working, "the print spooler service is disabled" when it is not

    Hello

I received a message that my pc required for the loading of driver software for a new unknown device, although I had nothing added.

Now, I find that my printer is not working.

I tried to accept the "locate and install driver software" message, but it does not work.

I tried to uninstall the printer driver so that I can reinstall them, but I get a message that the uninstallation was failure because the print spooler service is disabled.

I checked the print spooler service is set to auto & seems to be on.

Would appreciate any opinion appropriate for a no no very savvy tech.

    Thank you

This could be the reason why you do not see the printer in the Control Panel, printers. Try this, go to control panel, printers, if you see the printer listed to remove it. If you don't see the printer, the service could stop, go to services then and click on "Restart the service" (blue link top left), then go back to printing, its listed hopely now and you can remove it (right click). Now try to reinstall the printer.

If that doesn't work try the system restore, restore to a date when the printer works fine.

  • text with antialiasing when exporting PDF to image

I need to be able to batch of multi-page PDF files convert to individual bitmap (a single image on each page) text anti-aliased images.

Photoshop works this way if you open a single PDF file, allowing you to select one or more pages of rasterize as separate images, but not when batch processing (especially if you use the script of Image processor on a folder of images and PDF files, it will be raster PDF files automatically, but it will do so only with the first page of each PDF.)

However, Acrobat, automatically creates an image for each page during the export and this in a batch sequence, but the text is not anti-aliasees, making the image looks like a screenshot of 1997. Any height an image resolution you select, the text is always jagged when you zoom in.

Yes, is there a setting I'm missing allowing the anti-aliased text when you use Acrobat to export PDF into an image? I use Acrobat 8, No 9, so something may have changed in the latest version.

My solution for you would be to generate files TIFF 5.7 MB at 1200 dpi and then batch process in Photoshop using Image size > changed 1200 at 300 dpi and use the bicubic resampling Sharper (better discount) as an option checked.  You will have files of anti-aliasing.  Try this step and let me know if you are satisfied with the result.

  • How can I specify the Page size when exporting PDF in CS5?

    Hi all

I just upgraded to ID CS5 and I'm really impressed with the improvements. Of course, however, some aspects take a few adjustments that brings me to my question. How can I specify the size of the "printed" page when you export a PDF file? Basically, in CS4 I could set up a document to have, for example a page size of 20x20cm. I could then print it in PDF format and select a page A4 format. This meant that I could get my printer to print the document of 20 x 20 irregular size on a standard paper size and include benchmarks of crop etc. In CS5, I cannot get ID to export the pages that they are configured (i.e. 20x20cm).

I don't know I must be missing something obvious here, someone has any ideas?

I hope that I managed to explain my problem clearly enough and we hope to hear from someone soon. Thank you very much in advance for any help you can provide!

As a student of architecture, I'm pretty new to publication. My main need is for portfolio presentations and also my thesis work. So far, as mentioned earlier, before CS5 I was printing to / check-in PDF directly from ID without problem. For some reason any (and I stil have not thought to it yet) it seems the only way I can get the PDF of ID files is to create a Postscript file, open with Preview (I use a Mac) and then save as PDF.

Try file > report > Adobe PDF (Print)... to make a PDF file you can print from Acrobat or Reader. You will have several presets of your choice, or you can use your own options if you have settings that you prefer, which will make a PDF suitable for different types of printing scenarios. For digital output instead of a commercial press, a ggod preset choice would be of high quality printing, but you can even use the same jopoptions or settings file you were using to print directly to PDF in the past.

  • Strangely, image with a transparent background in Photoshop and InDesign exports PDF format...

Hey, I really hope you can help!

OK, I did a catalog in InDesign and there say, an orange border. I imported an image to the layer on the orange border and it has a clear background. In photoshop, it has no background and is simply the black outline. However, when I export the Indesign to PDF and print it out, logo is there with his black side, but is inside a non-described and the background is kind of transparent, orange poster, she displays a weird shade of orange and it stands... Ive had with a few more pictures, don't know what im doing wrong when I save the image in photoshop or when you export or what! I am self-taught, (with the help of this forum and youtube) so bad really appreciate any help. I might post a picture but on the screen, everything seems correct, its seen that when I print the catalog, it is really strange! It is not just my printer-think of that - ive tried on three different places and with different pdf files to see if it was just a picture. Unfortunately, this is a good 220 on a 108-page document!

If you want to discuss rather than poster, you can Skype me as charmywoo

im just grateful for any help!

    Kind regards

  • Text missing when exporting pdf to word doc

I'm trying to export a pdf file to word in Acrobat DC, but despite all my efforts on 2/3 of the text disappears. The headers appear, but the text body is unrecognizable because of so many missing characters.  I tried to print the PDF to the PDF printer, but no dice. I'm also pretty sure that I have the font that was used in the document already downloaded - does anyone else have this problem?

PDF to Word, Excel or any other format conversion is one of the most complex things, you can try to do it with a PDF file. It works very well in some cases, in other cases, the output doesn't have much to do with the original file. The key to success is that the PDF file must be "marked" - which means that it contains information about the information displayed in the file. The best way to ensure that a PDF file is properly tagged is using the PDFMaker in Acrobat to create PDF from Word or Excel file (this is the Acrobat Ribbon or toolbar).

Unfortunately it is not that you can do to improve the output without spending a lot of time (for example manually tracking file). In addition, if you use Adobe ExportPDF service and do not have access to Acrobat, it is even not an option.

In most cases, the only thing you can do is complain to the original author of the file and tell them that they used a PDF generator bad to create the PDF file.

Sometimes you get better results when you export the entire file for the individual (e.g. 600 dpi) TIFF images, and then re-import these TIFF images in PDF format and finally run OCR and export to Word.

  • problem with the quality of the photo when exporting pdf interactive

    Hi guys!

I made a simple pdf with before/after samples with superimposed photo retouching, changing the mouseover.

When I export it as a pdf interactive (on jpeg without loss of quality), the quality of the photo on the final pdf looks like a JPEG on 40% quality, really bad. Œuvres turnaround.

When I export to PDF for printing high quality - the quality of the photo in the final PDF is impeccable but rollovers do not work... (I checked "Interactive elements: include the appearance") but still nothing...

Pleeease help cause I can't find a way. I just need the renewal work and have pictures in the highest quality possible.

  • Data merge problem - bad values when exporting PDF with "All folders" only

Hi - I have the weirdest problem with InDesign: I use merge data from .csv to create a deck of cards (9 per page), and when I export to PDF from the data merge Panel, one of my field has erroneous data: it uses values from previous records and which repeat.

What is strange, is that when the noticed, all right. Is also very good if I create a merged Document and PDF export. Is also very good if I export to PDF using just the range of entries it is play: I don't get that wrong data if export as PDF, "All records" in the data merge Panel.  Very frustrating!

Someone saw? I feel that my data is ok, if the export of individual records is very well...

    Cheers for any help.

Thank you! Which has me on the path to what looks like a fix...

Copy all the fields in a new file does not solve the problem - the same behavior, but after the start of charges, I started to adjust the sizes of the fields and stumbled upon a possible solution.

A field that trouble is a text box for a single digit, if limits are quite small. The name of the field for example placeholder. > is bigger and complained of cut-off text.  Increase the limits of the text box to be at least the size of the reliable placeholder text solves the problem. It decreases the size of a single digit... back of the problem.

    How weird.

    Thanks Peter.

  • InDesign crash when exporting PDF

I'm trying to export a PDF of high quality for my editor. It is an Indesign book with 14 chapters. I exported it several times before for the preview. It always crashes on the same page; every time. I tried to change the illustrations on this page of AI to PDF. Same thing.

More funny is that when I export the chapter separately, it works very well.  What else could be that originally is this book to stop smoking to be exported on the same page every time?

If you are able to export into pieces (as in chapter only exports), but not all together, it is more likely is a problem of system resources. It sometimes works to close ID and reopen, then perform export as the first operation. You can also combine PDF files into one file using Acrobat.

  • Export PDF in different size while maintaining hyperlinks

    Hello

my client asked export document format A4 A5 size letter size (so the source A4). So I need 3 different exports of the schema source A4. It seems to me, that humans are capable of landing on the Moon, but resizing PDF seems to be much more complicated...

    1. I know that there is this option print in Id, where I can export PDFS in different size (why the hell that's not possible in the Export PDF dialog classic?). I tried, but this way of 'print' kills all my links created manually (about 800 of them in all of the document).
    2. I can change the document. But in the case of A4 > letter y at - it somehow how just increase the size of the artboard and keep the work without scales right in the Middle? (And keep hyperlinks, of course...)

So my question is: how to export in different sizes and maintain hypertext links?

    Thank you!

    You can not.

Never use print to create a PDF file, avoid postscript, which means no EPS, but also without the creation of Distiller or PDF by printing.

    It is said of Villa.

If you create a PDF file via the export only you can use the URL. (Often URLS work in all cases such as Acrobat and Reader are detecting those automatically the text, but often not correct.)

Normally, you can place an INDD or PDF/X-4 file exported in other INDD files links als, they are treated as PDF images. But images can never transfer the interactivity in InDesign when they are placed there. If you lose these Interactivities.

But why your client will have live links in all sizes? The user will not open all sizes and use it on screen. I would recommend to strengthen links in the original which must be the version that gets the user on the screen. Other sizes can be done via the placement of the INDD or PDF/X-4 files (with bleed.)

Is what you you should interest you, if you use a smaller file, your resolution should be at least the square root of 2 higher for each step you want to increase the file. Let's say the original is A4 and you want to jump up to the A3, you need 1.41 × 300 ppi or A2 will be 2 × 300pp. Conversely, when you place it in a smaller provision, you must increase the purge. If the bleeding is 3 mm in the original A4 and you want to place in an A5 available in A4 minimum purge must be 1.41 × 3 mm, with A6 2 × 3 mm. (for output you can use another bleeding in the export that you configured in the configuration of the document).
