How to start the print spooler service because it stopped
local print spooler service stopped working on vista how to restart
Double-click the print spooler service to view its page properties...
go to the TAB more far away on the right, should be "dependencies".
It should display a list of components or services that must be running in order for the spooler service is running.
The bottom in the properties page window shows the services that must run so that the components to run...
in essence, you would have a trail leading you exactly what service it is not working, which prevents the spooler service to run. -

Print Spooler service keeps stopping
search forums/try solutions throughout the day, but still frustrated. I have upgraded from vista home premium to windows 7 Home premium. seemed to lose my main printer (canon mf4150) and when you try to reinstall, found my continuous stop print spooler service. I changed its automatic startup, as well as its dependencies, but it stops very quickly after I start it (its dependencies are started). I don't know even how to check that drivers etc are installed more, because I can't shoot to the top of the list of printers without this service. Help?
I was hoping just to see. I don't really want to import the key into my system.
At this stage because the spooler starts not and you have already exported your key drivers. I start by exporting the Print all button and then remove the print drivers and print processors under the key environmental. Just the driver not any key.
Then start the spooler. Open devices and printers, this will initialize the spooler, rather than having to wait 30 to 60 seconds, if no printing information is requested.
Click on add a printer
If the wizard starts the spooler is running. If you get the error spooler does not work, then it's time to remove some entries from registry of the monitor. Alan Morris Windows printing team; Here Microsoft Knowledge Base search: http://support.microsoft.com/search/Default.aspx?adv=1

Local Print Spooler Service is not running...
I have a HP Officejet pro 8600, which was acquired in may 2014. The printer has stopped working on the print commands from the PC, which is a HP Pavilion. I tried several methods, including the closure of all of the network modem, router comouter and printer n restart troubleshooting system. (It shows an error message that says that it does not connect to the printer to make a print job). I am connected via ethernet cable to reroute around the wireless network, and it still wouldn't print docs for the PC. I'm going to print incoming faxes. I did another thing troubleshooting, and it gave me a message that the "print spooler service does not work." I also deleted the printer from the control panel and reinstalled the software from the CD provided with the machine. I will need very detailed instructions if the fix is complicated. Do not assume that I have "will know how to do this. Laughing out loud. Thanks in advance for any help. This is driving me crazy (more)! D
And does also say running under the status column?
If the status column is empty, don't forget to click on start the Service as stated in my previous post.

Failed to load printer - clicking Add indicates a Printer Spooler Service does not.
Upgrade Windows XP to SP3 last night. Now all in printers and faxes has disappeared. Click on add a printer indicates the Spooler Service does not. Went in and forced a start; Add the said printer still does not.
Deleted old printer drivers (Lexmark). Downloaded updated. Execution of Lexmark is set up; said the spooler does not (yet), tries to start. Then, the installation fails saying "No. valid Ports for the driver.
Often, but not always, the symptoms you describe are caused by a corrupt print job stuck in the queue or a damaged printer driver. However before you clean things up, on general principles, that you can download, install, update and run full scans with each of these two free programs:
AntiMailware MalwareBytes
SUPERAntiSpywareDo not operate the two scans simultaneously. Each will take a long time, so start it and then go do something else for a while.
I think that your problem is related to the way that Lexmark install printers, as explained in this excerpt from the article linked in step B below (step numbers refer to article in full):
If you have a Lexmark printer, these additional steps may be necessary (thanks to Robert Orleth [MSFT] to provide this information). Sometimes, the Lexmark printer installation process installs a service that makes dependent Print Spooler service itself. If there is a problem with service Lexmark or a Lexmark printer driver (or you have removed using the procedure above), Print Spooler service does not start (see also http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;324757). The steps below make Print Spooler service only on service (RPCSS) remote procedure (RPC) call, which is normal. Print Spooler service dependencies are stored in the registry at
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Spooler\DependOnService
The sc config step 16 command resets the value for this entry.
Open a command prompt window
the control key
sc config spooler depend = RPCSS
(Note the space after the = not before)Restart print spooler (see steps 8 and 9 above)
Cleaning of printers
NOTE: If after completing step has the print spooler is not always running after you launched the command "net start spooler", you will not be able to follow all the steps in "First Article". Instead, go to the other link and download and get and use the utility 'cleanspl' such as described here.
A. Clean on print jobs pending
- Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK)
- Type the following in the black command prompt window, and then press ENTER after each line
net stop spooler
del/q '% windir%\system32\spool\PRINTERS\*.* '.
net start spooler
outputB. clean the old printer drivers and install the latest drivers by using the directions in One Article. If you have (or had) a Lexmark printer, follow the instructions on the following site before installing the new drivers, as explained in its first Article: http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm

Local print spooler service does not not (Windows 7)
We bought a new HP PC with Windows 7 in December and the printer worked very well. Suddenly, he stopped and we get an error Print Spooler Service not working. I ran troubleshooting, and he said he fixed it, but we try and print to get the error again.
We thought that we were lucky that our old PC made through the years of Vista and WIndows 7 would be better, but I was wondering if it is still too recent.
How fix us this so that it remains fixed?
ETA - PC is an HP, but the printer is a Dell. Is - this problem is occurring more with certain products? The printer is of 5 years so not opposed to replace if it will solve the problem but want one that works with Windows 7.
Can you check it out here:
Start > type services.msc in the search programs and files, then press 'Enter' > then in the right window, scroll down to the print spooler service, and then double click on "Print spooler" > dependencies
What is listed under "this service depends on the following system components?
Then click on the tab "General".
What is the 'print spooler startup type"set to"automatic "?
Is the "Service status" of the print spooler "started"?
If this is not the case, can you "start" the print spooler service?
BTW, what Dell printer is installed?
