Print to PDF InDesign CS2 transparency PDF jumps placed

OK, I have a third party PDF pasted into a document that I need to print in PDF format, and then printing to PDF there is big white box on the bottom of color around each word with a shado, as well as a many pointed star with a shadow effect.  The sudden unstranspaency effect does not appear in the document Indesign, just the PDF of the Indesign document, and it seems as well when I print to Distiller, PDF and when I export from Indesign.

What could be the cause and what can do about it?

  • Help! Print to PDF with transparency?

I have a (8 x 16 spreads) document related to PDF files, updated frequently via Photoshop.

Make sure that the image mode is 8 channels, PDF files import into Design with transparency on the workspace.

However, when you try to print to a PDF file, transparency is flattened and replaced with a white background > :(

The idea is to use the paper color as the background instead of printing a block of white ink.

Forgive me if I'm missing something obvious - I tried different formats (png, tiff), flattering transparency 'preset' setting to 'high quality' and juggle with PDF printer driver settings.  Displaying print PDF in Acrobat displays a white background on a transparent paper.

Its interesting to note the In-design background prints transparent (between related images), but not the transparent parts of the image/PDF files themselves.

    Help, please!

When you create a PDF file you must never use the print to PDF or use any kind of Postscript.

Any PDF from InDesign file is to be exported, a PDF from Photoshop or Illustrator must be saved in PDF format. If you exchange PDF files between these applications to export or save as PDF/X-4.

Print or postscript will never support transparency, so do not use distilled, print to PDF, PDF1.3, EPS.

Do not PNG or TIFF with vectors.

BUT change the color of the paper will have no effect. If you need to print a background color different other than white, you should add a layer below all layers, name it background and draw a rectangle of guide line for the purge frame bleeding frame guide line in the desired color.

  • Export pdf vs print to PDF in InDesign?

Years, I "printed in pdf format" via InDesign and had no problem with the quality/accuracy of my output. As I passed some of the techniques advanced such that knocking out objects with transparency and alpha channels, I noticed that more and more, my output is wrong. So I reworked my files in Photoshop so that the shots of grace and transparency occurs there and placed in ID work bitmap.

Recently, I was having a problem of display of a file and sort of stumbled on export to PDF. When I tried it, my perfectly output file! I am pleased to say the least.

What I was asking, is what is the difference between the two? I wonder now why there is even an option print to PDF? If I were Adobe, I'd a sharper distinction between the two and the advantages of both.

Print to PDF is a shortcut for printing to a file postcsript and distillation. Export use any postscript, but use instead an internal PDF library. Supports color management, interactivity, layering, transparency and other advanced features not available to the general public in distilled PDF PDF exported and is the recommended method to produce PDFS from code.

  • Hidden in PDF files with InDesign CS2 output mode

I produce a PDF by InDesign CS2 via export. The ingredients

are programmed manually pages EPS, where all the colors are defined

by CIELab, in addition to a few graphic elements in the CMYK device.

    Doc contains only vector graphics.

    Export happens with

    -No color Conversion

    -Do not embed profiles

Acrobat Professional 8 says: the PDF is not output mode.

The manufacturer of my RIP said: as detected by Jaws, the PDF file

contains make it of intent Colorimetry Relative (RelCol).

and this is used for the laboratory to CMYK conversion.

If I change in global settings (like synchronized by bridge)

InDesign or locally with the intent to AbsCol, then AbsCol

is used for the conversion, which is measurable in printing.

I don't know how to detect and change in Acrobat 8 Professional

the intention of rendering. Any solution? The problem was

resolved in Acrobat 9?  The PDF file below contains RelCol.

    Cordially - Gernot Hoffmann

The Acrobat 9 preflight feature is much more complete and upgraded to Acrobat 8. There is a profile of correction that will change the rendering mode existing in what you want (RelCol, AbsCol, Sat, or by). You can apply this to all objects or types: (image, text, vector).  As well as profiles of correction, there are profiles of control in order to review the document for different rendering intentions.

  • boxes of text/image disappears when printing to PDF [CS2, Win]

Strange things are happening today: text boxes and images, perfectly visible in InDesign boxes - disappear completely when printing to PDF.

The first time I printed, everything went well. Then after I moved some stuff and reprinted, things have disappeared.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

    Export instead. Does it work?

  • Lines/undesirable traits around object when printing to PDF format

    Hi all

When I place a document in Adobe Indesign CS3 it seems perfect on the screen.

But when I print to PDF in the PDF file, most of the objects show the wrinkles around them.

Of course, I put the race to '0' and color 'None '. The traits do not arise in Indesign and not when printing to printer directly.

But when I save it as a PDF there are all of a sudden these traits in the PDF file.

The features appear on Indesign (example oval and text objects) objects, on inserted EPS, TIFF, PNG, and GIF.

Can someone tell me what what should I do to prevent these features around the display of the PDF object, printed Indesign?

Thank you in advance, I appreciate all help.

    Best,

    JP

The white lines are called artifact sewing flattening transparency. Instead print format PDF, EXPORT to PDF format and using Acrobat 5 or greater compatibility, who will be leaving the live transparency and eliminate stitching artifacts.

  • A word or phrase moves when printing to PDF

Why, when printing to PDF from another format (such as Word) the odd time a column or a Word will move out of alignment?

I did the same steps to 14 Word files. 8 of them at the date of the section "Normal retirement Date" moved to the right as shown below.

The others were very good. The numbers and date, in the right-hand column are all tabed on without space.

    This happens very rarely.

    Thanks for your help.

It is a problem with the Microsoft Office applications since the beginning of the 1990s, believe it or not. Whenever you change the destination output device, Office applications will reformat your document based on the measurements of fonts to the resolution of the printer device. You can see the misaligned line endings changed tabs and pagination anomalies! There is absolutely nothing Adobe can do about it.

For example, if your default printer is set to print at 600 dpi, and the instance of Adobe PDF PostScript printer driver is set to 1200 dpi, expect reflow issues.

There are two workaround solutions. If you insist on printing at the instance of Adobe's PostScript of PDF printer driver to create PDF from applications Office, set the Adobe PDF printer as the default printer before entering the Office application and still print via the production of PDF. More likely, which will ensure consistency in the layout.

That being said, creating PDF via PostScript distillation (i.e., printing to the Adobe PDF, PostScript printer driver instance) is absolutely not the recommended way to produce PDF from Microsoft Office with Windows applications. Acrobat installs a PDFMaker factory (an Acrobat tab with a function to create a PDF file as well as a Save as Adobe PDF from the home view) in these applications that creates PDFS directly, without any stink'in GDI and intermediate PostScript and tends to provide provision more consistent with what you see on the screen at once. It also preserves image and dynamic transparency color spaces. The only thing that does not support the PDFMaker are all .eps graphics inserted in your Office documents (something rarely used in modern times).

We'll know if that helps you.

    Hello

I can't print to PDF from InDesign or incidentally one of my other programs not Adobe.

Just to clarify, export as an interactive PDF isn't the solution, what I'm looking for.

I am slot that Windows 7 with Acrobat 8 Pro is installed and Acrobat Reader X is installed.

When I try to click with the right button on the printable pdf file and go to "Adobe PDF Printing Preferences" and

Set the Adobe PDF/output folder to all that tempt me the name of the file, I can only select a port as LPT1 and nothing else.

Also, weird but maybe related, I can't even set the PDF security.

    Help would be delicious

The 64-bit system can be a problem. I don't remember all the answers related to capacity with AA8 and Win 7, 64. In all cases, you must be not less than AA 8.1. Be on the 64-bit versions of XP. I open AA8 and start the update process. If you are offered more than 1 update, perform these tasks in the order. I don't usually update this way and not that familiar with the screen that is offered. You may need to download the updates, in which case it must download the relevant updates and install them in the order. They are not cumulative. If download you them, you probably need to store updates that somewhere in case you need it in the future. You also don't have to reboot after the update, even though many of them will suggest a reboot. AA 8 is something like 8.3.2.

Updates may resolve the issue. Please report on your success with the 64-bit version of Win7. Helps us to help others.

  • Resolution print brochure PDF settings

I have a question regarding the pdf settings when I go to print a booklet in indesign.

I go to print the booklet and go in the printer settings dialog box, there is no option to select low, medium or high resolution or to optimize it.

When I print my booklet, even though my resolution on the bitmaps in the indesign document are high, such as 300, printing booklet (pdf settings) automatically reduces the quality bitmaps.

I studied and used the menu help and can't find anything around this or change these settings of the printer for PDF files. It's only a problem with booklet printing options.

Any request or information would be greatly appreciated.

  • Y at - it an app that will "print" to PDF?

Often when using my Mac, it's been really great select the option print and be able to select the "PDF" button and print a web page or other document to a PDF file.

Is there a such app available for the iPad?  I searched the iTunes app store for "print to PDF" and there are a lot of apps, but all seem not to do exactly what I want.  They are apps to convert PDFs in Word, etc files or images in PDF format, or they are documents scanners that create PDF files from photos and many others.

Can anyone recommend an application that can be added to the share button universal who will do a "Print to PDF" and save it or open with another application like purple or other Notes Organizer?

    Thank you

Don't know exactly, but if you have Pages for iPad you can export a file as a PDF and then use it as you wish. That would help?
