Printer 'offline', he can't get "online".

I have a HP Photosmart D7260 printer. I use a laptop gateway with WIN Vista. I used the printer wireless via my router "2Wire". The printer is connected to the router with a Cat5 cable. It has worked wonderfully for at least a couple of years. Now, it remains in "offline" mode I tried without going through the router and connect the Cat5 cable directly to my computer, but no use. HELP Please!

I'm glad that fixed the problem...  Now, go to the website and download the latest driver for your printer and operating system for PC.   This will give you updates for the printer driver.

Do you know how to upgrade your driver by using the Properties menu on the screen of the printer driver.   I work with Laser printers and is on the tab advanced for Laser printers.  There is a button, the new driver on this screen.   You just browse your computer and it point to the new driver's record or file.

I work for HP.

  • reinstalled XP, but can not get online

I reinstalled microsoft windows XP Home Edition, but can't get online. It shows yellow it is missing: ethernet controller, multimedia audio controller, sm bus controller and controller vga compatible video. I don't know what cd to use to reinstall them. I tried cyberlink power dvd and dimension resource cd for the drivers of devices, diagnostics and utilities and the documentation for the computer. Also, the cd of drivers, diagnostics and utilities, in the online modem documentation pending. These 3 cd that came with my dell computer with the operating system reinstallation cd. I tried all 3 CDs, but they don't do a thing.

Go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer/notebook > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > get latest XP drivers for it > download/install them.

The computer you are using now if you have an Internet connection with the other > download / save drivers > copy them into Flash Drive > transfer / install on another computer/laptop.

  • Can't get online once installed Windows 7!

I can't get online on my desktop (HP Pavilion, under 2 years old) after the installation of Windows 7 Home Premium. Previously, I had Vista. The compatibility tool indicated that everything was OK. There is nothing wrong with my modem or ISP (my laptop is online and does very well). I was online with Vista, now I can't get online at all. Troubleshooting have yielded no results. I can't via radio or via a direct cable connection to the cable modem. Any thoughts? It's really frustrating and I can't google to the top of all the answers. Thank you.

Go to Device Manager and see if the wired and wireless network adapters are installed and working.  If they are not, you may need to download drivers for them on another computer.

  • Why the doc on my small screen of wordperfect and tini tiny printing? How can I get that back to the standard size?

When creating a new wordocument, is a small rectangel on wordperfect editing screen.  I can't see any text. How can I get to standard size?

    You use Microsoft Word

When is to create a new wordocument

    or Corel WordPerfect?

It's a small rectangel on wordperfect editing screen.

    And which version?

Generally, in WordPerfect, go to the view menu and select "Draft" (without headers, feet page, watermarks, etc) or 'Page' (to see how it will appear when printing), then view > Zoom to increase the size.

The corresponding elements in Microsoft Word are view > Normal or view > layout and view > Zoom

  • Why I can't get online in safe mode with networking? Does not start in normal mode.

I can't get my computer starts in normal mode.  It starts only in safe mode.  I can choose the mode safe mode with networking so I can get online, but that's all... just safe mode.  Can I do to solve this problem?  I don't have a lot of money and a new computer is not an option at the present time.  Any help out there?  I have also no sound.  I tried to reinstall my windows xp, but it won't let me.  I have XP Pro and SP3.

    Hello splunk2011,

Please contact the Microsoft Answers forum with this problem!

After reading your post, my understanding of the issue is that you are unable to start in Normal Mode and as such, cannot be online within Mode safe mode with networking.

Because we can start in Mode safe mode with networking, this tells us that a driver or a program from loading at startup may cause the problem.  To solve this, I would try a clean boot.

More details about this is located at the following link:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Let us know if this helps solve your problem.

  • XP is connected to the wireless network but can't get online...

I have a wireless network that works very well with my computer laptop and desktop so its punt in Mac OS, but when I boot XP, it cannot get online. He sees the network and says I'm connected but IE and Firefox keep the display of error messages telling me that they can't connect. If I click on the icon of repair under wireless network connection settings, it would loop forever in the IP address area you are looking for. I figured out how to manually enter the IP address and the error is now in the clearing the DNS cache.

I also tried implementing the wizzards and messed with the different service settings, but still no luck.

Does anyone have an idea what I am doing wrong or what needs to be done to get this connected to the internet?

Why windows is so difficult? my Mac is hooked up very well with little effort.

    I'm so frustrated. Help, please

If you are connected your computer must be able to connect to the menus wireless router and have an IP address valid (169 . xx.xx.xx isn't a valid IP address).

  • 'Local only' and 'Limited connectivity' is displayed when I try to connect with my laptop and I can't get online!

Almost every day for the last 5 months or so, I try to get online and a "local only" or "limited connectivity" appears when trying to connect to my wireless internet.  It seems to do this whenever I try to get when another computer is also about that.  By example, if my mother found on the internet on his computer and I try to get on the internet too it does this thing 'local only' and I can't connect and it launches my mother of the internet too (she also has windows vista).  This seems to be a common problem with vista.  I don't understand all this technique _ so if you know how to fix it please don't try "computer talk" with me-keep simple or explain in detail.

    Hello

Troubleshooting connection problems can be a challenge because there are so many possible causes. First of all, try the following steps:
Step 1: Diagnose and repair the connection.
    1. open Network Diagnostics by right-clicking the network icon in the notification area, then click on diagnose and repair.
    2. check the result.

Step 2: Uninstall and reinstall the wireless card driver.
Consult the manufacturer of the wireless device or the system manufacturer's Web site to download the driver of wireless network card.
    1. click on start, type devmgmt.msc and press to enter.
    2. expand network adapters.
    3. right click the network point sup wireless driver and click on uninstall.
4 restart the computer for changes to take effect.
    5. install the driver for the wireless card and restart the computer.
    6. check connectivity.

The other possible solution for this problem is to install the latest service pack on the computer. Visit this link for more information: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932063

Try the steps and post back with the results, so that we can help you better.

  • Can't get online with Windows but Ubuntu

Original title: settings apparently corrupt... the network cannot get online with Windows, but Ubuntu works?

Laptop Toshiba with Windows 7 and partition with Ubuntu.  Problem started when Windows suddenly stopped with the error message saying: "Windows has a problem and will shut down in 60 seconds...". "PSI was causes by a Rootkit virus then ran several strippers different Rootkit and AVG Rescue Disk and can't find anything.  Also several virus scans, malware analysis mode safe mode and ran Check Disk but nothing found. Also tried the system restore, but it does not solve the problem.

Windows starts up normally however cannot get online with IE, Firefox or Thunderbird either wired or wireless.  WiFi icons are in the systray and directed the program of solving problems, but he can't find anything... says he works normally.  Ubuntu works very well and is online so it's something in the windows which is corrupt.   Checked the router settings and they agree.  Any ideas what could be the problem?

    Thank you

. . . The ISP said it was causes by a Rootkit virus...

I wouldn't believe everything that your ISP tells you in particular in this case given that you probably contacted due to Internet connectivity problems.

-You never know, so please follow the advice given by Niranjan Manjhi

I'm curious to know if you are able to access the Internet while SafeMode w / networking.

Please try - press the F8 key repeatedly during boot. Select "SafeMode w / network.

    Kind regards...
