• The sidebar clock went crazy

  I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong Forum category or form, I'm new to this kind of thing and I did my best estimate.

  I am running Vista Home Premium 64-bit with all Service Packs and updates current as of 13/09/09 and IE8 on a new (3 1/2 months), Dell Inspiron 530/531 (750 GB, 150 backup), 600 GB, 6 GB of memory, processor E7400 2.80 GHZ 2.80 GHz, Intel core duo processor 2 cpu.

  My computer's clock is stable and precise.  In the last week and a half or two, (he is now 13/09/09), my Sidebar clock changed it's time of the clock of the computer from 3 to 8 hours, the hours of more further outside every day.  The minutes remain stable.

  I am not computer savy but I poked around the clock via its 'tools' icon or right click of my mouse, without success, (right click only offered a time of computer clocks change).   I tried to get my Start button to "clocks" and "side bar clocks' does not.  I looked in 'control panel' and nothing useful that are there.  The Forum offered nothing about this particular problem, although I learned that many people had problems with the sidebar in general after installation of IE8.  The clock is the only part of the sidebar that I use, so I don't know if the other gadets are made.   I am at a loss to know what to do next. It's a minor problem but I love clocks and it's driving me crazy, I also wonder what remains is crazy who has not shown yet.  Perhaps one of the recent "Updates" is responsible?  Please help me.

• The preview of the color went crazy

  I recently changed to Photoshop CC (from CS5) and now a huge problem.

  At first I just recognized it when I whistled the screen in full-screen display. Suddenly the image rolled up with a lot more than magenta. (doesn´t image change just watch it) When this happends I have to go into the color Preferens settings and then close the dialog (not OK) to return to the original color.

  And then a few hours later I noticed that an image suddenly changes. Suddenly a 'perfect' image turn yellow/grey. Then I went back to the same image in a new window. TADA! The perfect image looking for again.

  So when I have these two pictures side by side in photoshop they are totally different. But they measure exactly the same amount of color.

  I must say this is the most confusing thing ever...

  (Maybe I will ad that I saw with the same CMYK images)

  If I was a Mac user, I could see a workaround...

  But in any case, I think that the monitor profile is the key. For some reason, it is not the right one when this happens.

  It seems that this happens only in the double-screen configurations. So the likely explanation is that the secondary display is affected of the profile for the main view, or vice versa. Normally, Photoshop handles this without problems and uses separate profiles for each screen.

  You might try to swap primary and secondary and see if that helps.

• Running header went crazy

  I came across another problem with InDesign. I am sure that the problem is in the file itself, not the software. But I don't understand what the problem is.

  I created a file for a client. I put a header running in master pages on the right page. Running header must search for any Style of character H01. I did it because some items are very long. Then, I created a Heading01 paragraph style that applies to all topics and also I applieed H01 character style for what should place in the running header.

  So far so good. Until I added a section at the end of document you index. He first takes the last header which is annex 2. Why? I have no idea. Once I have insert the Index MS Word file inside pages the right running header is replaced by the same with the one on Chapter 9. Why? The text is flowed from the beginning at the end of the document. I tried to delete these last pages, insert new. I tried to apply master page, then by adding master pages to the right. I even tried to override all Master Page items. Nothing works. The right hand running the header is the same Wavec on Chapter 9. Important to know you is the rest of the headers running before Chapter 9 and chapter of nin and Index are perfect. No errors.

  I can easily create a master page for Index, but I want to get to the bottom of this.

  Also important to note that the file is exchanged between the client and me that some changes are made in-house. The customer uses InDesign CS5.5 and I'm under InDesign CS6. This error appeared after I get the most recent version of the file of my client who mentioned these errors to running header.

  PS last updated: after that I searched in the Index after H01 character Style, which was added at the end of a paragraph (Wicks me why?), the header running went perfectly. The question remains why a character style applied within the section of the Index, at the end of a paragraph creates these problems.

• My copy of RH7 went crazy...

  Hi all-
  I had been using a trial version of RH7, and it worked FINE. I bought a license, then when I entered my new serial number, he began to behave badly. Two things I found to date are the following:
  
  (1) A newly created project will not open. In RH7, I created a new HTML help project. I saw the status messages as new files have been generated, but when he got to the point of actually opening the project, Hung RH7. The title bar went "Not responding" and I had to kill the program. All files seem to have been created. Subsequent attempts to open this project repeat this hanging of behavior i.e. HR and will does not.

  I tried several times, with different images and different themes. You can manually enter the IMG tag very well in the HTML code.   "In setting up projects, we always recommend that you modify the project locally, unless you are using Version control software. It's the best practice because there are known problems when editing projects from a mapped drive.
  About the #Select Image lead # dialog box, I was able to reproduce the problem on my end... I checked in the application and it allows up to 65 characters for the file name.
  You mentioned in your last email that you could not create a new project by using the new version. If this is the problem and it happens in all the projects you are trying to open, then you must reinstall RoboHelp by following the steps I sent last time. »

  While install us the software locally (on our own desktop computers) store projects on a common server. We have been using RoboHelp since almost day 1 (the first version we ever had was WinHelp Office95 of BS), have had pretty much every update since (except 1, I think), got the training along the way of some of the best (Darling Zubak, Joe Welinske) - and honestly it is the first time I have encountered problems with a drive mapped or was advised not to have projects on a server.

  Time to change I guess, our software and our practices. I'll roll with it...

• The mouse pointer went crazy on NB100

  Started a download on the iTunes store, came back 30 minutes later to find my mouse pointer jump erratically in the vertical direction. Had to disable the synaptics pointing device driver and plug a USB mouse. After having rebooted and restart the mouse driver seems to work for most still until today where it does the same thing.

  If anyone else has experienced this? I came to the conclusion that the touchpad and keyboard on this device are just very poor indeed.

  I never had a problem with my touchpad. I have to say that everything is working properly and also an external mouse/keyboard.

  Anyway, in your case, I would try reinstalling the driver for the touchpad, or have you tried it already? You can directly download the driver from Toshiba:

  Also, you should also try to reinstall iTunes. Maybe it s causing this problem

  I'm very angry with my experience with this phone, even if it's important, so I will be brief.

  I tried to connect to Windows Live Messenger on my BlackBerry Curve 8520 last night when it says connection error (65). I don't say no big deal, as often happens. But after a bunch of times, I started to get frustrated and I looked and he told me to reset my phone. No help. So I decided to delete the app. I fell asleep after doing it and I woke up in the morning to add the application through BlackBerry App World. He said I need a WiFi connection to do, and I am already connected to my hotspot. I checked my router and it is obviously it works because I am able to use it via my laptop. It says that I'm connected to my hotspot on my phone but it will not show and I am no longer able to do anything using the internet and WiFi.

  I am also having a potential battery problem that just started today. I had it load all night and I have disconnected this morning and now the battery is almost dead. Usually it would still be a full load for most.

  It's extremely frustrating and if you could give any suggestions, I would be. I really don't want to spend 2-3 months waiting for my phone to get repair incase I have other options.

  You know that there was a fairly widespread RIM data outage today in the Americas and the last three days in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

  In the meantime, you can do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry this way: with smart BlackBerry poweredphone, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most defects and errors of operating system, and you will lose any data on the device doing so.

  Hello! I use gmail for 3 months with no probs account. I have a bb curve 8900. Just today kamal not allow me to delete all e-mails. When I delete a TI it switches to a concersation 0 mails that won't disappear from the device. In addition, it keeps saying there is a new email on the account which is not. I tried to delete the account and the hetting again and the problem persists! It evens keeps telling that there is an unread message when there is in any way nothging! Get enough honest anxious!

  I think you can try two things: the soft reboot, and if it does not, the hard reboot. Don't worry, you can not lose data with these two reboots.

  Soft reboot:
  1) struck the following three keys at the same time:
  -Alt
  -Right shift
  -Remove
  (2) wait 2 minutes for the Blackberry to wake up.

  Hard reboot:
  (1) your BlackBerry smart phone is on
  (2) remove the battery and wait a minute
  (3) replace the battery
  (4) wait 5 minutes for the device to wake up.

All the letter are correctly added, but when I add a character such as @ # $ & * etc, it is automatically placed at the beginning of the text.
