Printing in Lightroom

Hello

I find printing in Lightroom is a bit of a nuisance because I have no control over the scaling factor. It shows the @ppi I print, but compared to for example Photoshop 2015 cc "Print tool" by rip Roy Harrington photography or Mirage, it really lacks professionalism, and I really see no reason why? Printing in Lightroom or Photoshop should be at least the same... Am I missing something?

Anyway,.

Alex

Hi LeAlexandre,

Please go through the below article in brief information about printing from Lightroom.

  • Cannot print in Lightroom

I have a 6500 canon printer installed on my mac.  It is fully recognized and I can print of all programs, including Adobe Photoshop CC.  However, I can't print from Lightroom CC. It is completely grayed out.  I can print to file, but cannot print directly to the printer.  Print settings are all fine and show the printer as being online.  I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer, restart the mac, turned off and unplugged/replugged the cable to the printer without result.  Any help would be great appreciatedP

How is it gray? Do you mean the button "print"? Who gets grayed if you have selected right JPEG file under the print job in the Panel on the right. Make sure that who is set to "printer". You should be able to print on any printer that you have installed in the operating system. To get the best color, you may have to play with the settings and profiles, but avoid any problem printing to any printer that the OS can see.

  • Printing from Lightroom settings - Paper Type

I have a printer Canon Pro-10. We know that in the printer settings if you set the Type of media to a fine arts paper then the driver applies a margin of 30mm printing. So if you try to print from Lightroom, but have margins of 10 mm, it refuses to print until you change something.

Now I can get around this by setting the media type on a photo paper so I could print the edge on a paper fine art.

    My question is;

I can set the paper size in the Page Setup dialog box, I color managed by Lightroom and I actually use the right ICC profile for the paper and printing, this media Type setting does nothing with regard to printing? I printed some impressions on canvas and I see no difference in print quality?

It seems that the only difference in the Fine Art media Type parameter is the border forced 30 mm margin. Apparently, there is a potential to curl around the edges if you print without margins on paper Fine art. As long as you use a media Type for a type of similar paper it should work fine as you have experienced it. Just make sure you use the right paper Fine Art LR catalog profile > Print Job > color management.

  • Printing in Lightroom 5 problems

I have problems printing in Lightroom 5 and it's very frustrating! I spent lot of money of ink and paper, but I still have the problem.

I run MacOS 10.9, Lightroom 5.3 and I print on an Epson R3000.

The first problem I had was that images were printed on just a small part of the paper and cut images. I've attached a picture showing this. I completely reinstalled my computer and now it seems that this problem has gone (for now at least). But now, the images are printed, but much smaller than the paper, I said. If I said I got something close to the A4 A3 +. Print borderless on 6 * 4 seeks to work as it should, but it's the only one I was able to print so far.

I tested printing from Photoshop 5.1 and which worked find.

I'm getting desperate here, please help!

    Hi Tommy,.

I just hit the same problem and hoping that you've cracked it now!

Like you, I'm under Mac OSX 10.9.1 and Lr 5.3.  No problem previously with Lightroom 4, 3 or 2 on OSX versions.  I can print on A4 no problem, but when I try A3 apparently evolve to correct A3 but cultures up to A4 (borderless?) in a corner, similar to your experience.  Ultimately I have to use Photoshop, I guess!

I forgot to say, I'm on Epson 3800 printer.  I need to make a few prints A2 next week and I wonder if they will be more effective than the A3.  Having to use Photoshop seems a real step backwards.

    Geoff T

PS - I've found a workaround.  Some of my images are in portrait format and, guess what, they work very well to the format A3.  I then tried an image in landscape format but printed by print module, as if it was portrait - worked well.  It's better than having to use Photoshop for printing.

There is obviously a bug with Lr5 using Mac, but of workaround seems an easy option.

  • Printing from Lightroom 5.2 on Canon Pixma Pro-1

    Hello

I am new to Lightroom 5 and Canon Pro-1. I'm not sure that I fully understand what is happening when I use ICC profiles for printing (in spite of paying through forum after forum). When I print the results look, nothing like the results on the screen. I tried the soft test and proof image looks like my output, but I'm not understand how I'm supposed to use the ICC profile.

    System

    Windows 7

    5.2 Lightroom

    Canon Pixma Pro-1

    8 GB RAM

    1. use of proofing it appears that I need to adjust my image for each paper type. It is not meant for me - I thought that the profile would be to adjust printing so that I wouldn't have to adjust the image.

    2. when I print, I put the following settings of the printer:

    PrintSettings1.png

    3. when using unsupported paper, what types of paper should I choose? Is there a resource anywhere that tells me?

    PrintSettings2.png

    4. should I have my correct print settings Lightroom base?

    PrintSettings3.png

Is could someone please tell me what I understood/hard to please? I know it's a forum for beginners but still, please, excuse for the total lack of understanding.

    Help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Mike

I use the Pro-100 for a few months.  It's a great printer that I am very satisfied.  Currently there is a very aggressive rebate program if someone wants a new printer.  FWIW, I have been unable to find anyone, anywhere not happy with Canon Pro printers.  Basically, you can get a value of $170 of paper and ink for $99 with a printer that is 'free' to the end of the year.

    Return to this topic!

There are potentially three completely different workflows between Lightroom and Canon Pro-life 1, 10, 100 series that involve choices of papers, ICC profiles and color management.

    1. printing with Lightroom controlling color.  You must open the printer driver and disable the printer color management.  By selecting the document in the pilot seems to define the profile.

    2. print with the printer manage the colors.  In LR, he must choose color management > managed by the printer.  Then turn on color management in the printer via the driver.

    3. printing with Canon provided in Cap.  After you have installed the plug of the supplied disc, in LR, go to file > Options of the plug-in > Canon Print Studio Pro.

Like Lightroom fan, addict and supporter of everything that said J Kost, I was using #1 and love for landscapes.  I had to work a bit to find a way to turn off the printer as well as examples of J Kost for Epson.  Then I tried to print a picture of my granddaughter and her cheeks kept getting a little purple.  When I checked the Preview button before printing in the printer driver, I could see the change in color of the preview of LR.

I went to #2 where the printer takes the decisions.  Extracts matched and stopped the cheeks blush.

Then, I looked at a video conference conducted by a specialist of Canon products on the Web B & H Photo site in an hour.  It's the Canon plug-in demo.  I am strongly considering using that in the future.  I hope that Kost J will not be upset with me!  It seems that the Canon plug-in really has better control of quality on the printing process.

A particularly interesting feature of the plug-in is a test sheet that looks like a sheet of evidence.  There are a bunch of thumbnails printed on a single sheet with a different color casts and numbers of adjustment under them.  Once you choose one that is 'just', you can save the setting as a "Preset" for that paper.

Note that in the long video, Canon representative insisted on the support of 3 papers of party in the plug-in.

Too long video was worth the investment of time.  I understand my printer and more watching him.  The link: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/indepth/photography/tips-solutions/canon-pixma-professional-in kjet-printers-exactly-you-considered

  • The printer options not available when printing from Lightroom

    Hi all

I have a problem with the interface of Lightroom 2 (version 2.4, executed in 64-bit mode on my Intel Apple Mac with Mac OS X 10.5.8 (Leopard)) to my printer driver, an Epson Stylus Photo R800.  I can see looking through the forum that there has been a lot of problems with printers, but none as far as I can see that seem to cover my particular problem.

In the Lightroom print module, after setting everything up, selecting the correct ICC profile for the printer/paper etc. I click on the button "print...". "at the bottom of the right panel to launch the dialogue of the printer.  My problem is that the essential options, I need access to this printer dialogue, namely 'Print setting' (to determine the media type, and print quality) and "Color management", (to disable the printer color management)-are disabled.  To be exact, these options have a line through them, as if they were crossed.  "Print option" and "Setting the Extension" are similarly disabled, while "Layout", "Paper handling", "Cover Page" and Planner "are available.  (See JPEG screenshot attached.)

If I try to select one of the options not available such as 'Color management' I see the following on the screen error message:

"The bundle 'Color management' couldn't be responsible because it does not contain a version for the current architecture.  Contact the creator of all here for the most recent version: Color Management 3.09, SEIKO EPSON CORPORATION 2001-Copyright (C) 2005. All rights reserved. »

The strange thing is, if I print from Photoshop CS3, there is not this problem: "Print setting" and "Color management" are not disabled, and I can make the adjustments I want.

Coming off the printer prints color are way off if I print from Lightroom, so that from Photoshop, they are great - I guess because of this problem (I can not turn off printer in Lightroom color management, so that I can in Photoshop).

I guess that this is a problem in the interface between Lightroom 2 and my printer driver, but I find it strange that I don't have the same problem in Photoshop.

I have re-installed the latest printer driver downloaded from the website of Epson many times, following the instructions to the letter to Epson to remove the old drivers of my machine, to nothing does not.

I really want to print from Lightroom instead of Photoshop, I like the simplicity of the Lightroom print module.  Can anyone throw any light on this?  Any help or ideas gratefully received!

    Thank you

    Ian

Just save a driver of printer/preset in any 32-bit application. Then apply this preset when you print from LR runs as a 64-bit application. It is only the interface that is the problem. It should show very well, at least it does with Canon printers.

  • Printing problems Lightroom CC

I'm trying to print on a Canon Pixma Pro 100 from the impression Lightroom CC module and it keep printing photo contact sheet type and not what is visible on the screen. No matter what size print, or what model to choose, I get the same result. I'm sure it's an easy fix, but I am at a loss of what is happening. I checked and re-checked the layout, the configuration of the printer and the layout, set up. Here's a screenshot of what I'm doing and also a shot of what actually prints. Can anyone help? Please, I beg you.

    Displaying 20160915_145546.jpg

I have the Canon Pixma Pro-100. The type of printing that you are showing is called a print template, and I can produce one of those by activating the utility provided with the printer called Print Studio Pro. But, to my knowledge, this is the only way I know to activate this sense of reason.

  • Printing from Lightroom 6 blanks

I can prepare an image to print, but when I press print, and the Panel of the printer busy at work seems to show what works on the printer, the tile is a white rectangle with letters at the bottom, that seem "rnr".

    I use a Canon IP7250 printer.

The printer ejects one sheet of blank paper and that's it.

If I export the edited from Lightroom image and open it in preview (I'm on a Mac) and print it, all right. Even the miniature work list is here. I have no impression of any another application problem.

This suggests that it is a problem in Lightroom.

I reinstalled LR, deleted the plist and pulled my hair, does not.

I'll be the only person in the world to what is happening?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Yes. Completely uninstalled the program and reinstalled and updated again. Everything is good.

  • Printing from Lightroom

I am currently using an iMac with the latest version of El Capitan, which has updated the printer driver (Canon Pro 9500 Mk 2) to 13.7.1.0.  It now ignores my printing page layout setting in Lightroom. I regularly print a picture of art on German etching A3 paper through the front tray. My cell size 32,00, 25.00 cm margins left/right 0.34 cm wide and 3,50 cm of up/down. This has always focused the image on the page. I have this as a "Preset" who has worked for several iteration of Windows/Lightroom. I bought my Mac by the end of last year and it worked fine until yesterday when the output prints now leaving a margin of 0.19 cm down and 0.08 cm on the right side instead of centering the image. Any help would be most appreciated.

I found that the Apple printer updates can cause much more harm than good. Not sure if this will help, but go to the Canon Website and download their driver it and reinstall it.

  • Printing with Lightroom 5.7 problem - cannot print - Source file missing

With the help of 5.7 LR and I am trying to print but get the message: "there is a photo in the print job that is missing its source file, it will not be printed".  When I say keep feeds paper through and nothing prints.  How to fix this?

    Hi DavidsFITS,

It is said that the source file is missing, which means that the original location of this file in Lightroom is missing.

If you know where the file is stored at the origin, then you must first move the file to the Lightroom library module and then print it.

See this article for steps to move: How to find missing photos in Photoshop Lightroom

  • What part of my photo is printed from Lightroom

What impression of Lightroom (last version, Mac OS x, latest version) on my Epson SC P800 not all photo is printed and the image is also biased. When you print the image of Photoshop, everything seems fine. Any suggestions?

I found the problem. The Epson SC P800 communicates its parameters to the computer, but there is a left setting, the preferred paper size is A3, always even if the A4 is loaded. Apparently only Lightrooms engine to print reacts to this setting as well as Photoshop has no problem. So I can not print again, as long as I remember to manually change this setting in the Epson driver for this printer, because my other printer gives no problem.

  • Print module Lightroom 6 causes lightroom to stop working

I recently installed Lightroom 6 on Windows 10.  The program looks good except for the print module.  The module worked the first time I tried to use it.  Since then, whenever I try to turn it on, the program stops immediately, and Windows forces me to close the program.  I tried to reinstall, but it did not help (even if I do not uninstall beforehand).  All my system drivers are up to date and Windows and Lightroom are updated. Can anyone help?

I know the feeling.  Seems fine.  Thanks for your help.
