Printing to a file in Windows 7.
I have problems since I upgraded my system from Windows XP Pro to Windows 7 Pro. In Windows XP mode printing to file the printer works very well and I was able to print a full report in text format, but under Windows 7 it is different and printed text gets trancated and I can't do work. I would like to find the solution so I can print text full report, otherwise I must have XP system to do what past.
Perhaps someone could give me idea how to make it work under Windows 7?
Thank you.

This isn't the printer destination to a file. This ability is supposed to allow you to print to a file of generic printer, allowing you to print later on a physical printer. The generated file is not intended to be read by Excel or any other program and is created in a language that the printer can understand to reconstruct the to-be-printed information.

print to PDF files in Windows 8.1
I cannot print a file in PDF format. It is the basic story.
I have Windows 8 and I have upgraded to Windows 8.1 when the upgrade became available. All this time I never had problems to print a file to a PDF document. Then I had some major problems with Windows in general and had to do a full system reset which wiped out all my files and reinstalled Windows 8. Then I installed Windows 8.1 again and now there no option in my printers to print a file in PDF format.
How can I get that back?
I had this problem and got the ability to print to PDF back by reinstalling Acrobat.

Why can I not print a pdf file in windows 8
Why can not select print share when I select a pdf file? I can't get the file to print from anywhere.
It is not the printer or even Windows 8. It's the adobe program that installed Windows 8. Go to Adobe and install the Adobe Download reader. Once you have installed, you will have all the tools at your disposal at the opening of your PDF document.

Stuck in 'Print to file' in Windows Vista, Thinkpad R61
The last time I tried to 'Print to File' a .txt file, a file was created, that I could not open with various software (never had a problem in the past). Now I can't print any file on my printer, even if the Print to File is not checked. It is not the printer because I can print a test page to the printer. I tried to disconnect and reconnect, defragmentation and restart. Run the utility on the hard drive, no problems identified. What should I do now? Thanks for your help.

How can I print just the file names listed in a window of Windows 7?
How can I print just the file names listed in a window of Windows 7?
I found the info in this post...
http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-files/for-Windows-7-can-i-print-a-listing-of-what-is-in/b233cbeb-647d-4E32-ae1f-8523d62b2dc9Here, a link takes me to an article at this link...
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/321379This article explains then that I need to download and run blindly 'Fix - It' application to obtain the simple ability to print a directory window... but it does not say what I'd do once downloaded the general application of "Fix - It" to get this option which should be part of the Windows 7 basic features first.
Or, the article told me that I can "modify the registry" (?) in order to get the print option window... but I know that by having a character moved when editing the registry, it can bring down the entire computer and make it completely unusable.
Those are really the only options to print all simply a window?... in addition to several screenshots and melted together in Photoshop and then print this image?
Why not just give Windows 7 a 'PRINT' button under 'FILE' as other operating systems have always done... has always done Windows default this feature?
This seems just crazy... This misunderstanding?
Thank you
NuMetro
I tried to copy and paste the name of the window... This time I tried while holding down the SHIFT key and it sticks anything in Notepad.
This is not what I've proposed.
- Select the files whose names you want to print. CTRL + A selects all.
- Hold the SHIFT key, then right click on a file and select copy in the path from the context menu. This will put a list of filenames (path) to the Windows Clipboard.
- Click inside a document, and the stick.
Have another go.

How to print my folder and subfolder and files in windows Explorer
I read some of google to find answers and FAQS. In my view, there are free directory printers. Those I've tried do not print the subfolders and files. I'm looking for a program that will print exactly as my tree when it is fully developed.
Thank you

It's not elegant, but using the directory the command at the command prompt with the correct switches, you'll get what you want.

my new computer with windows 8 will not print my pdf files, print everything well.
I have a new computer HP running windows 8. my printer works fine except when I want to print a pdf file. If I install the printer drivers, it erases all my Outlook folders.I'm so close pitch on this windows 8.Linda HewettGot it to work. I discovered that the updates have been downloaded, but the computer needed to restart to get them set up. PDF does not open until this happened. By chance, I noticed a message that says my computer will re-start in two days to config updates. I chose restart and it took 40 minutes for an update installation and config. Fingers crossed I checked my pdf and they ran. problem solved.

Print my pdf files is no longer. After pressing PRINT the 'Print to File' window pops up and I have to press SAVE under to go to the next step. Once the pdf file is saved it is therefore more a pdf but a PRN file. An error message appears when I try to print the PRN file. I need to be able to print my original pdf files. Please notify.
Looks like you somehow accidentally active the option print to file in the Advanced Options print dialogue. Uncheck that and this problem should go away.

Printing to a file of hundreds of emails from the mail window
I have hundreds of emails in *. EML format with attachments... I need to put them all in 1 file. If I click on print, check the file... it goes into a *. PM file and I can not open it.
What is the problem? Why is this simple task so difficult?
Thanks Marc
If you want just the text of the message, you can select all of the messages that you want to include, and then go to Message | Combine and decode, and then you can save this file and that's going to be a big text file you can print. If you want all of the message information, and then go to the folder where messages are with the command prompt and typecopy *.eml onefile.txtand who will merge all eml files to a text file that you can print.Otherwise, you will need to find another method. You can also try:print the *.eml > onefile.prnSteve"mdrd375" wrote in message News: 7cdc3a2c-2f0f-476a-b320-b3d51cba38cd...I have hundreds of emails in *. EML format with attachments...
