• Premiere Pro 2014.2 CC is not stable on my system

  Mac OS 10.10.1

  I have problems with Premiere Pro CC 2014.2 that make it almost unusable on my system. All other software, including EI, hearing, prelude, Photoshop etc works well.

  The symptoms, which are not specific to a project - but they seem to all effect are also: -

  (1) intermittently, I lose the ability to play clips or timeline. I can drag the playback cursor, but nothing plays, nor the spectator or program monitor change or update. I can't use the space bar to play, nor can I click the play with the mouse.  Each action requires a reboot.

  (2) out of the application, the Premiere Pro will not completely closed. It goes into a sort of limbo. The only way to stop the application must use the command force quit in the Apple Menu. Once the application has been forced to leave, it will not restart until the computer has been restarted. It will just bounce up and down in the dock and launch never completely.  The only way to start again is completely restart the computer. If the application has been left, when I shut down the computer, I get the spinning wheel for a very long time during the closing process, but the computer turns off completely on its own. After I restarted, Premiere Pro starts quickly.

  What I've done so far:

  Uninstalled the app Premiere Pro and then reinstalled a new download.

  OK my problems disappeared when I transmit mercury not enabled. I use an AJA IO Express (in the office) or a T - Tap AJA (out of office) to connect to a monitor.

  Once I had to pass mercury unactivated, first works catchy and smooth, no crashes or restart problems.

  I see 22/01/15 AJA has released today a new driver package for e, s, KONA, TTap devices with a few CC Adobe fixes. I downloaded and installed, and so far (although it has only a few hours), everything seems very stable.

  I'll post if trouble resumes.

• What is the best method to add data to a file stored on a usb flash drive to avoid too many write cycles?

  I'm trying to store an important data on a cRIO sampled stream in the USB flash drive.

  I believe that there are two ways to add data to a file:

  1. open the file outside of the loop, then write to the file loop, then close the file outside the loop.

  Pros; More quickly and efficiently than the opening and closing of files in a loop is resource heavy equipment.

  Disadvantages; If the program fails partially through, all data is lost.

  2. open the file, write to the file and close the file, all in the loop.

  With the advantages and disadvantages as opposed to option 1.

  As my cRIO is finally deployed in a hostile environment and data are valuable and processing speed is not an issue of concern in this project, I'm leaning towards option 2, but after a few basic calculations that I realize that I'll be writing/opening/closing the file of thousands of times and I wanted to know if this will wear out the flash memory?

  My uncertainty is due to not understanding what happens when a file is opened written to and closed.  He writes the new data to new areas of the flash, or it write all data on top?  The latter would cause me problems not too long term!

  The 'magic' is not in the File Format (PDM vs vs binary text), but in the "life" of the file.  This solution creates a file of 24 hours and maintains a different file for each day.  If the USB "dies", you lose everything you have not backed up somewhere.  If the program dies (or errors), you lose the data for the current day.  You end up with multiple files (which can be a more or less), but we must still make the trade-off between (duration) of the file and the file number opens (which relates to your concern for the longevity of the USB).  By the way, I suspect that a good quality USB key (it's what you mean, right?  Or do you mean a hard drive USB powered?  Comments probably apply both) can predict today to not die on you, everything just because you make a lot of reads/writes (of course, you could get in-a-thousand...).

  Everything has been working great until this evening. When I try to play a song, I get the error message that windows media player has encountered an error - relatives or wbhelp - and when you select web help, I was directed to the My Device Manager, audio video and game controller. Nothing was reported in some way. I uninstalled the camera just for the sake of curiosity, and Media Player started working properly again.

  Since I solved my problems of camera by re - install Windows 7. I didn't know what else to do, but it worked in the end. My camera is now installed and working properly.
  The problem I had was caused by a Windows Update... the cam comes with driver disk, but Windows Update offered an update to the "Logicool Quick Cam. I highly recommend that any user of the QUICK CAM PRO 5000 should NOT download the update for Logicool Quick Cam Pro 5000 driver. It was perhaps intended to solve the problems with the original driver, but caused a great diservice to me.
  Sorry that I don't have a less radical solution to offer besides a re - install cost of Win 7. I tried to uninstall the camera and re - install, but who has never worked. Maybe you could try to restore to a point before you tried to install the cam first. I hope this helps.

  I ve already divided into 20 chapters chronology (order to use in even during the creation of the DVD or Blu - Ray).

  I´d still publish a copy of this project on Youtube. But 2 hours is too long for a video. I thought that I could separate the project in 20 chapters it s. So, I download youtube 20 files... chapters.

  My question is: is there a way to order Adobe Premiere to export each chapter as a H.264 file suitable for Youtube (using the preset Youtube Widescreen HD)?

  Quick start can be enabled and disabled too using the Toshiba software called Desktop Help. Within this tool, you would find the HWSetup Toshiba and this part of software must contain the quick start option.

  Check it out.

  By the way: for some series laptop, press INS key then F2 worked too.

  If other applications can print correctly, then it is a problem of QuickBooks and you would need to contact them to see if a patch or update is available.  Given the age of the product (released in 2002) I would say that you probably need to upgrade to a newer version.
