No Internet connectivity

I have 3 computers at home connected to internet through router. Everything worked well. But before 3 days one of them 'refused' to connect to the internet. When I checked ipconfig, is written there: active DHCP, autoconfig enabled' autoconfig ip address was very well known, but 169.254.124.177 and the mask is 255.255.0.0. the default gateway is blank. I tried everything with no result. Even though I have set specific DNS address, he does not receive the ip address of my router. But there is no problems with 2 other computers.
Help, please

Really, I have configured the router MAC address and did not touch the table of filters for a long time. From my experience, if the mac does not appeare on the list, the connection is rejected. This filter is not applicable for the wired connection

I don't know how your router, but on my Linksys WRT54G, the MAC address filtering works on all computers connected to the router by Ethernet or wireless.

Because a MAC address filtering does NOT increase your security (see article), try to remove all the restrictions that are configured on your router other than encryption.

Looking in ipconfig I found that the default gateway address is missing. Maybe that's the problem

Missing default gateway address is not the problem.  It's a symptom of the problem.  The problem is that you are authenticating to the router (you are not 'connected' to the router)... so the router is not give your sound card IP address or default gateway address or the addresses of the DNS servers.

This is the reason why manually configure an IP address, an address of a default gateway or DNS addresses server does not work: no matter what treats you manually configure the network adapter, the router is not allowing you to connect.

If you are concerned about malware (this symptom does not sound like malware to me), use another computer to download the following programs and copy them to a USB key:
MalwareBytes AntiMalware
SUPERAntiSpyware Portable
You can also consider to download the latest version of the Microsoft malicious software removal tool (normally downloaded by automatic updates each month on "Patch Tuesday").

Install on your computer of bad conduct and run a scan complete with every tool (not at the same time).  The scanner allows you to remove or quarantine any malware it finds allow it.  You can uninstall both programs when you are finished.

Without sitting in front of your computer, the only two things I can think of that would cause the symptoms you describe are:

  1. A misconfigured firewall on your computer
  2. Badly configured in your router security

To see if you can isolate the problem to the computer or the router.

1. start the computer in "Safe Mode with network."  To do this, repeatedly press the F8 key as your computer starts.  If you see the Windows logo, you waited too long to start to listen to them and will have to restart.  Once you see the menu "Advanced Boot Options" (white text on black screen), use your arrow keys (the mouse will not work) to select "Safe Mode with networking" and press ENTER.

Safe mode "should disable any firewall program that is functioning normally."

Open a windows command prompt (start > run > cmd > OK) and type

ipconfig/all {press Enter}

You get a 'real' IP address, a default gateway address and DNS server addresses now?

or

2. turn off all security/filtering on your router settings.  You can leave the encryption in place, but if you do, connect the computer with an Ethernet cable.

Open a windows command prompt (start > run > cmd > OK) and type

ipconfig/all {press Enter}

You get a 'real' IP address, a default gateway address and DNS server addresses now?

  • How to switch to safari 9.1 without internet connection

I've recently upgraded to El Capitan on my 2009 mac. Fine, except that now, I find my version of safari (6.6) is not compatible with El Capitan and I have no internet connection. How to switch to safari 9.1 without being able to download it? Can I get a disk with on or something?

Safari is upgraded when you upgrade your system. There is no installer for stand-alone for Safari. If you run El Capitan your Safari should be version 9.1.2. Otherwise apply the OS X Combo Update 10.11.6.

The Combo update is a complete installation, as opposed to an incremental "delta" update, so you have to overwrite all files are damaged or missing. It does not matter if you have previously applied. All your data and settings must be kept, but that said, you should always have a backup.

  • Internet connection is unstable

    Hello
For a week now, my internet connection Firefox has been unstable. Usually, after you open a new tab, I need to click the 'Try' again on the 'server not found' - several times (5-10) to finally create a connection to the page.

I use Firefox on Win XP Pro SP3 39.0. Firewall settings look ok. Protection of navigation and the virus is F-Secure (to date).
Unfortunately the problem seems not to have an impact on Firefox only (Chrome access to electronic mail and Outlook are similarly unstable).

I use a shared via a Windowsphone wifi connection and can connect with the browser of the phone without problem (so I don't think that the problem is associated with ISP).

I did a scan complete antivirus without reported problems.

Any advice would be welcome. Thank you!

  • How to prevent the download of the images (when the internet connection is bad)

In ancient times, it was possible to download only the text, no images, in order to speed up downloading of Web pages. Now I can't find the 'switch' to do this. My problem is that sometimes - when I'm on the (German) campaign - internet connection is so bad that the download takes a long time or fails completely.
I use firefox with ubuntu 39.0...

This option is no longer available in the standard options, but it still exists in the advanced configuration. 'Text only' value, enter "subject: config" in the URL bar, accept the warning, search for "permissions.default.image" and change the value of 1 (default) 2. To restore the display of images, even to change the value from 2 to 1.

  • Apple TV (9.2.1) removes the internet connection when you try to use Siri

    Greetings,

I think I saw network related issues with my Apple TV. Everything works fine most of the time. But sometimes, including, but not limited to, when I try to use Siri, Apple TV almost always drops the wireless internet connection. I've included a picture below of exactly what it looks like. I scoured both online that I can but it doesn't look like anyone has the same problems.

I called Apple support and they suggested that I connect to another source of wifi. I used my hotspot on my iPhone and the Apple TV has worked well without any hitch in the connection. This leads me to believe it's firewall partner.

However, I have disabled literally of each firewall setting I found in my router and still cannot find a solution. I also use a WAP browser in addition to router which is what my Apple TV is connected to. My WAP is an enterprise-level device, but I'm having issues access to the features of the admin of it network. Before I go and reset my WAP I wanted to get additional advice from people with experience in networking and firewall, especially with services like Siri.

Thanks in advance. Pics and info of additional device below.

Hello. I don't think that this has nothing to do with the firewall, etc. When you use Siri, you send your voice via Bluetooth to ATV. If your WiFi signal is weak, the Bluetooth maybe block, if you are using 2.4 GHz. could you try to connect to a network of 5 GHz and see if that helps?

  • I have an internet connection, but when I try to enable Thunderbird software appears on my desktop screen, but could not complete the connection process.

I have Thunderbird installed on my desktop and laptop. So far, it worked very well on both machines. Today, when I try to activate the Thunderbird, the software on my desktop and laptops come on the screen, like the "sign-in" box When I try to connect, however, the process hangs part way through and the circle around the rotation shows that the activity occurs. Finally Windows 7 on the laptop tells me that the program is not responding.

The same result occurs on two machines, the desktop and the laptop. I checked and I have an active internet connection on both machines.

    What should I do?
