Problem adding memory for laptop

Win 7 pro on a Lenovo T510 laptop with 2 giga memory factory at location 0.

Bought a Kingston 4gig module and added to location 1.

The BIOS sees 6gig BUT Win 7 does not start.

Tried to remove the 2gig and only put in the 4gig at location 0 NO CHANCE.

Hello

Either something is wrong with the new memory (misspelled or defective) or computer

material. Check with support from Lenovo or a real computer store (the one that makes its own
in service). And double check the specifications of memory with its creator.

I hope this helps.

    Hello

I have a HP G71 Notebook PC. I have 4 GB installed, but shows available at 984 MB physical memory?

It is a wonderful phone but seems a little slow. I've added memory some time ago and decided to check my information memory and was surprised to see that even if I installed 4 GB of memory, and the system shows that it is aware of this, the system memory is only say that I have less than 1 GB of memory available.

I would like to upload a screenshot of my information system, but I see no image upload button.

How can I get the laptop to enjoy other 3 GB of memory?

I saw in another post it was expandable to 8 GB?

In this post, they had a HP G71 EOU.

Wow he must break down. You shouldn't have to change anything on the memory in the BIOS, so I don't know what you were doing it there. The F10 is a restoration of the system, so if you went into that you might have erased the hard disk or at least it does not boot. I really don't think we need to put the memory problem side I think that may be the root of all your problems. Uninstall what you added and material back to the origin let's at least we know will work. But please forge not come unattended or you can see where it gets you.

  • Problems with drivers for laptop HP650

    Hello

I have a problem with drivers for this model.
I have installed windows 7 32 bit, then removed all the drivers from the official website of HP, but a problem with the two drivers, PCI SIMPLE COMMUNICATIONS CONTROLLER and CONTROLLER ASSISTED, now I can't connect to Internet, LAN or wireless internet.

    Is there a solution?

    Hello:

This is the driver you need for the PCI SCC.

    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=5225011&prodNameId=5225013&swEnvOID=4062&swLang=13&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=ob-104656-1

In order to find the right driver for the wireless card (since there may be one of several different model wireless cards in your notebook), go to Device Manager and click on the network controller needing drivers and display the material for her ID.

If the answer is "Yes"; This will make a significant difference when it comes to operating speed and the ability to play some of the newer games that require more memory to play. If this isn't the good memory to upgrade my laptop with what I need and how much memory can I add to my system. Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  • Installed new module memory for laptop, found original was bad, while windows Vista does not start by going blank after the "status bar".

I have a Windows Vista running on a Sony VIAO laptop and has been updated with level 3 to 4 GB of memory. During the memory test, I found that 2 GB of original module was bad and replace it with the new 2 GB module end back where I started with 3 GB. However, Windows starts only at a little past the rectangle with 3 points moving ("State Bar"?) and them it goes to black and the desktop never appears. I tried to roll back to the last working version of Windows settings, but always the same results.

What can I do now? Is there a way to check and fix disk errors?  Is it possible to install Windows XP Pro or I have to go to Windows 7.  I even has System Mechanic Pro running on this laptop and it did help some casued the problem. It's as if the disc is damaged for some reason any.  Only with Vista felt this helpless.

It seems to me that the new memory you have installed is bad or incompatible with the system.  First, remove all chips and reinstall them and then try to make sure that they are correct and secure again - don't just press them in place, effectively remove and the replacement and make sure they are in the right direction.

Boot from the Installation of Windows Vista genuine disc (or you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc with recovery options included in this topic. If you do not have a floppy disk, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD (perhaps made on another computer, or perhaps in SafeMode with network if it does not - that would be a good sign if it is true). You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.  Select recovery options and follow the instructions until you see the menu.  Once there, select the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool and run it and see what it says.  If it detects problems (and I suspect it might), you may need to replace the new chip memory.

I hope this helps.  If this isn't the case, after return and we will try other options.

    Good luck!

  • Update of add-on memory for laptop CQ57

Regarding the upgrade memory on a laptop Compaq Presario CQ57-229WM with DDR3/1333 MHz.  Product number: LW437UA #ABA.  And I am using Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium edition.

I want to improve my memory of current populated two modules (1024 × 2) two total concert, for a total concerts three of memory by replacing a module of a concert with a module of two concert.  New configuration would be: 1024 x 2 048 and 1 x 1.

However, the user guide States: "To use a dual-channel configuration when adding a second memory module, make sure that both modules of memory are identical."

By upgrading to one of the 2 GB modules and losing two "dual-channel configuration" will degrade any benefit from the extra memory?

In addition, the HP Support Assistant reported memory as units 1 and 2 with Samsung 1066 MHz.  Maintenance and Service Guide however, 1333 MHz.   Is it important when I order the memory?

One last question: if I may add a 2-gig module, does it matter which slot it should occupy?

    I would appreciate your advice.

    Hello

RAM sticks are very cheap now, your machine is running 64 bit OS why not go for 8 GB (2 x 4 GB).

    (a) If you want to reuse 1 stick, you must order the same speed and of course to buy Samsung.

    (b) if uneven, location 0 (or slot) 1 contains normally greater ability than the slot 1 (or slot 2).

    (c) unless you have a tool to measure, you do not feel the difference between single and double channel, but you can see your machine multi files/application under open a little more quickly when going from 2 GB to 3 GB.

Go once again for 8 GB.

  • Problem with fan for laptop!

Hello, I bought a HP 2000-2b43dxbefore 15 days and I am sneaking suspicion there is problem wih fan / air on my laptop.

When I turned my laptop first and next 2-3 days, my fan was silent until I couldn't hear his work so its normal because when I turn the laptop there is no operation takes this fan needs to cool the components.

After using my laptop for 3-4 days I have noticed that my cooling fan starting immediately when I turn laptop and fan so it is quieter as the first 2-3 days. So my fan always cools, I can feel and hear, no matter what I do on my laptop. When I closed all my apps, the fan is still cooling for a long time. is this normal if I use the laptop only for internet and we know that the internet doesn't cause components to heat.

I have a photo of the user manaul, where we can see that fan to turn on and off successively during the routine operation, but my fan is almost always on. Here is picture

Have the fan lights is usually automatic. Depends on the laptop to the extent that utility controls the cooling fan.  My current product HP Envy17-3002ea a HP CoolSense book loan, but not all laptops have it. Some portable cooling is controlled by an algorithm in the BIOS ROM, which is based on the temperature ramp (delta) in the motherboard and CPU.

The fan come on your laptop starting up is quite normal. If the temperature is too hot the CPU turns off as self protection.  There are a number of Programs utility we can use if we're slightly paraniod on the temperature of the processor of the laptop, but so general, it is not really much to worry.

  • Envy 15 ah150na: want to upgrade memory for laptop 15 ah150na

Hi all, I was wondering if it is possible to upgrade my memory of 8 GB to 16 GB. When I run SPeccy on my machine it says I can go to 16 and I have a free slot. In the manual it says my memory is expandable to 16 GB.

However, when I rang Mr. memory, as my model does not have on their website, they told me I had only a slit and Speccy is often wrong on this issue.

I also checked on Everest that says I have two slots with one available. When I told Mr. memory Advisor they said they would change the model on their system to say that it has two slots...

    Now I'm Confused.com

Anyone know if I can update or not? And my motherboard support 16 GB?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    HI @jammydodger,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

It's a great place to find answers and advice!

You have the best experience in the HP forum, I would like to draw your attention to the HP Guide's Forums:

Learn how to post and more

I understand that you want to know if your computer supports 16 GB of memory.  According to HP ENVY Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide of m6 , you have two slots and it will support up to 16 GB.  Please note page 1, Chapter 1, memory. You have two memory off-limits/extendable module slots.  If you are in warranty, you need to have a certified technician RESUME will do the upgrade to do not void the warranty.  If you do not guarantee a local store can do the upgrade or you can make the update yourself if you feel comfortable, but it would be at your peril.

See also Chapter 3, page 16, section 13 for recommended memory.

I hope that this is clear to the top and confusion for you.

    Sorbet

    Hello sorbet

I found the information that your laptop can handle with 512 MB max. I guess that your device already has 256 MB. You can use the second 256 MB module and put it in a second slot.

Part number for the module memory of 256 MB is PA3127U - 1. 25 M.

    Hello:

When I read the service manual for the laptop, it says that the memory is expandable up to 2 GB (2 x 1 GB) DDR memory.

    See page 1-22.

I'd install PC-2700 memory as you have here now.

    Hello

I just bought an HP ENVY 17-J099EF with Windows 8 64-bit laptop and I am a little puzzled about the DDR3 memory.

It was delivered with a memory DDR3 8 GB (2 x 4). The number of portable computer product is E0Z72EA #ABF

-I can't find the exact memory type anywhere. What is 12800 1600 Mhz @ 1.35v OR @1 .50V PC? The tension is important between 1.35 and 1.5V?

-Is it possible to spend 8 GB (2 x 4 to 16 GB (2 x 8)) or 8 GB is the maximum memory?

-Finally, if it is possible to upgrade to 16 GB, which is the ideal CL and 11 11 11 28 ok or I can take for example 9 9 9 24 without any damage?

Thank you very much for your answer, I can find nothing converning these questions on the HP site or on the Internet.
