Problem deleting photos.

I have a bunch of pictures in my pictures that are not in the files that I want to delete. I hold down the SHIFT key and select the 50 at a time to remove. I right click and select Remove. This sends the photos in the bin, but also all the copies and replace them in my pictures. So I thought that I had deleted a whole bunch to scroll down and find them all again! After I empty the trash, they are always there in my images. I "select all" and empty all at once, but I have a whole bunch of files, I want not deleted. I'm really frustrated! The thumbnail under these photos said "copy", then a number. How can I permanently delete all these unwanted images without copying them at the same time?

Shakey mouse made copies.  Why are you using the mouse?  Just press the DELETE key.  As an alternative - so it is not in the Recycle Bin, press in and hold the SHIFT key when you press the DELETE key.

If the file name begins with "copy" and you want any of the pictures that begin with the word "copy"?

Be very sure of that before doing this...

Open a command prompt and modifier to change to the directory containing the photos to the command prompt, and then type in:

delete copy *. * / y

Press ENTER.

Fact.

  • Recover deleted photos - camera SD card

I deleted photos of my DSLR Nikon SD card and copies lost during the transition from an old PC to Mac.  The camera shop said that using free software such as https://www.cardrescue.com/ will recover them.  I do not want to download anything which could conflict/damage my Mac and would be grateful if someone could share their knowledge with me.

    I use OS x Yosemite.

    Thank you.  Chris

I've never used of CardRescue, but currently, it gets good reviews on CNET Download site.  Here are a few alternatives, you can consider:

    (1) If you have questions about the use of CardRescue after reviewing the information on your iMac you get here, you can ask your Apple dealer or a training center for help.

    (2) If you really want to be sure that CardRescue cannot cause you any problem, you can install it on your Mac "spare", try to recover your files with it and then erase CardRescue if you do not want to leave it on the computer.  If you encounter problems after using CardRescue, you can erase the disc of the CMA and reinstall OS X before you reuse this Mac.

    (3) use CardRescue on your Mac only, make a backup of the Mac. Then download and install CardRescue, use CardRescue to try your recovery image file, then do a full your backup restorebefore using your Mac. Although this approach will require a lot of time and effort, it allows you to use CardRescue without leaving any trace of it on your Mac.

  • deleting photos on iPhone removes again on all my devices

It is a recurring problem that seems to come and go without making adjustments or modifications to the software.

When I delete photos from my iPhone (to free up space) remove all devices and also on my desk.

I have to go recently deleted and restore them, but then they are again on my iPhone and all devices.

I hear often is not supposed to be the way it happens, but I don't know where the problem is.  It's my iCloud, my prefs iCloud on my computer, my iPhone settings?  This has plagued me since September.  It comes and it goes, and whenever I think I have it under control, it starts again.

Any ideas of references?  My computer is brand new.  But I cloned all the info from the other computer.

    Thank you

That's exactly what's supposed to happen.

No plague. It comes to the design.

iCloud is a synchronization service. His goal in life is to synchronize the content between your phone and your PC. Delete deletes in one place, in another.

  • Deleting photos, but it still says there are 900 MB photos.

    Hello

I just removed all of my photos in my iPhone 6, but storage has always said that I have photos for like 929 MB.

The funny thing is that when I check iTunes, it says I have 355 photos taking 944MB. But I just removed everything from the phone by going to pc > iPhone > DCIM.

Anyone know what these "ghost" pictures are and has a solution for the problem?

I have not synced all photos from my computer to my iPhone and my iCloud and photostream are turned OFF.

Check first of all, the album recently removed in Photos, which is a novelty after iOS 8.1. If it is empty you may have come across a strange bug where deleted photos are not actually deleted. To check what followed these rather strange instructions:

    • Go to settings/general/Date & time
    • Disable automatically the value
    • Tap the current date/time and roll back about 2 years
    • Click general in the left upper corner
    • Launch the Photos app and go to the recently deleted album (even though it says there are 0 photos)
    • It is full of pictures? If so, remove them
    • Return to settings/general/Date & time and restart the value automatically

It is an old iOS bug 8

  • OMG: Deleting photos in iCloud library does not work, all my deleted photos were stored by Apple!

Today, I used the iCloud for Windows App (PC) to use the new feature of upload/download to iCloud photo library.

I activated the automatic download feature, and I'm still shocked!

All my deleted photos (even older then 30 days) are still there. All the pictures I deleted on my iPhone before, in aid of the iCloud photo library, is always there. They are now on my PC in the download folder.

This means that all of my photos are stored by Apple, even if I delete them!

PS: Sorry for my bad English language skills.

Yes, exactly the same problem here. Did you get a solution? I wonder if destroy our libraries all work...

  • How to restore deleted photos?

Help, please!  Long story short... I accidentally delete photos in windows photo gallery, and they were also removed from the Recycle Bin, is it possible to get these back?  (The photos were deleted from my camera after the download!)

    Hi Marlene,

Unfortunately, your best option at this point may be to do a search on your favorite search engine for a data recovery program.

Looks for caching updated files that really are deleted.

Restart: Press and hold the power button on top about 20-30 seconds, ignore the 3-2-1 timer and hold the button until the screen goes black and you see the red LED.

    Now, they are still there?

  • How to delete photos on my iphone but not my icloud

How to delete photos on my Iphone without deleting my icloud

    You can not.

iCloud is not to do what you ask. It is a synchronization service. It is designed for exactly what you see.

You could import from the phone to a PC. This would free of space on your phone. You can use iCloud for synchronize * only * between your PC and the cloud.

If you set the photos on your to OPTIMIZE, will decrease the amount of space on your phone.

  • How to recover permanently deleted photos iOS?

Recently, I accidentally deleted photos of my camera and later permanently erased from the recently deleted folder and forget they were there. I only have backups iCloud. I don't have any iTunes ones. I tried the deletion and restoration of two backups. A for a few days and the other nearly two weeks ago. Two of them restore all photos of how they were after the pictures have been permanently despite them being backups before the deletion took place. These photos are gone for good? It seems to me that they are. I thought for sure the backups restore them, but they did not. Any help would be appreciated. There are additional methods, I can try that I have not already? Thank you.

If you have been synchronized with iCloud, using a computer, go to iCloud.com/Photos to see if they are there, but I doubt they will. Looks like they are gone for good.
