Problem exporting file with spot colors in color in pdf format

I have a book that I designed in InDesign CS3. It has 150 images in there, which are Photoshop eps files: line drawings with a filling of black tones. InCS3, when I need to send files back to the Publisher, the eps files came out fine in any pdf that I did. Now in CS5.5, no matter what I do, only the task of color appears in the images - their black outlines will not be displayed. I'm sure it has something to do with the settings of a certain type, but I can't figure it out for the life of me. Help!

Ok! Found! Acrobat: Prefeernces: Page Display: use Preview overprint: always

Thanks to stimulate me to find this...

  • Creation of production files with spot color layered screens

I'm the task of recreating a job 2 colors (cyan and magenta) , after a thorough inspection of the printed sample submitted with a magnifying glass, magnifying glass, I see a certain part is dark purple as the cyan and magenta used on-site are layered in this area.

How should I design the production folder so that it is clear that the 2 plates that will be created from said file will result in plates, which have screens of the dowry of two colors in one place so that when it is used the press to produce the purple shadow combined?

    Thank you

Mathias (master of convolutedly long sentences)

With cyan and magenta, only it isn't a problem. Sure just your design contains no black or yellow. Use the panels of color and color chart to produce and store mixtures of cyan and magenta to color your design elements.

But in your title, you say 'spot color screens' which is a little more complex because Illie stores not mixtures of spot colors in the color chart.

So you will have to work with overprints and saw the overlay turned on while you are working.

The other possibility is to work in false color, using magenta saying for red and cyan for blue spot.

Nothing prevents you to work this way and I did occasionally, but you will need to carefully explain what you do to your printer, and is not a bad idea to add a color legend to your work to make sure that your false color is printed in tones right.

  • Conversion of MS Word documents with bacgrounds colors in pdf format

Forgive an Acrobat "dope", but externally, this seems to be a simple problem... I can not understand!

For work, I use Microsoft Office Word 2003 (MS Office Pro 2003) and Acrobat 8 Pro.  I have no problem to convert an MS Word doc, with the foreground, images or text, or PDF.  However, if I give any MS Word doc, a backgroundcolor, using the Format Menu > background > and then selecting a color, the color is not everywhere in the conversion to PDF-, I find myself with a standard white page, instead of color!

Where I'm going wrong?  Or is this something color background that Acrobat cannot convert, whatever I do?  I do wish to produce an effect of 'Nick' by placing a color image behind the text (which I know will work) because the size pdf files become larger I want.  I want to 'color paper' using menu of MS Word and convert it to a pdf with this same "color paper" being the result.  Is this possible?  If so, how?

Thanks in advance for any help that might be available out there...

In WORD: TOOLS > Options > Print > background color and images (I had already checked background printing, but which refers to the process of printing, not the background. Check this other does the trick. It is probably disabled by default to prevent using regular printers ink.)

  • Problems with Spot color gradients

    Hi all

I have little experience in dealing with spot colors.  I'm trying to mix two colors of accompaniment for a print job.  Unfortunately the spot color gradient (left image) do not mix like the gradient color of the process (right image).  On the contrary, they will fade to a lighter color in the Center where they meet.  I'm sure that someone out there can help you because I think that is more of a technical problem that I'm just not familiar with.  Thanks in advance to all comments!

    Hi Hugh...

The difference between two images, is the color range, mode CMYK is larger than the spot colors, this cause an incompatibility of mixture. If you want a better overview of your spot color on preview test print on the view menu, but don't forget that the reference of the right color is Pantone color card.

  • export pdf with spot color

Hi, Im having trouble exporting a PDF with a spot color of ID. What part of my logo once thicker shows its exported. I can place in the work of same exact but using a CMYK color and thick form does not show. Anyone know why this is happening? IM placing an AI. file.

I am not convinced that has nothing to do with the presence of a spot color. Assuming that you view the PDF file in Acrobat or Reader, take a look at your Page display preferences in the rendering. If "Enhance thin lines" is checked, uncheck and see if it makes stronger, go.

  • If an illustrator file has links with spot colors, how can I create PDF files with process colors?

My file has shades of tones that came with the linked logo, I could not find a way to convert those shades of colors quadri.

I need to send PDF on a printer with only process colors, I know that the printer can choose to convert spot colors to process when printing with printer within Acrobat Panel, but since we do not print, we need to send files to print ready with process colors only.

Is there a way or a script to make PDF file generated from Illustrator with process colors only?

You could try object > flatten transparency and clear colors to preserve overprints and Spot.

I set the preset high resolution and turn on the preview to see if something dramatic is going to happen.

After that, you can check the file of color dot in the separations Preview Panel.

  • using transparency multiply with spot colors

Does anyone know if spot colors can be used with transparency are multiplying in illustrator CC. I want to create a third color of pieces that overlap / two forms of spot color printing?

Not agree with John, you just have to watch you preview separations to get your answer. Here the 7691 dark blue gradient is on multiply on 7688 blue light, so we get more degraded rich e, rather than the color is dull where the 2 colors meet.

  • Problem opening files with Mac OS Mavericks and elements

I recently installed Mac OS 10.9.x Mavericks.  Since then, I've had problems opening files in 11 elements.  I upgraded to 12 items, blindly hoping the problem fixed itself, however it does not.   When I try to open a file from the Finder window appears then disappears immediately.  Occasionally, it will remain open until I scroll down to the bottom, but then closes.   I keep files on an external drive, but the drive work with other applications, so I don't think it's that.  If anyone has had a similar problem and has ideas, I would be grateful that the program is unusable at the moment.  Thank you very much anticipation in

It is extremely important to remove update preferences to the Mavericks:

    http://barbarabrundage.com/2013/10/28/Photoshop-elements-and-OS-x-Mavericks/

    You want to find:

    com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist

Paths in Adobe Photoshop Elements (version number)

Settings for Adobe Photoshop Elements (version number)

The link shows you how to find the library user in 10.9. While you're in there go to the Saved Application States folder and delete any for PSE.

In addition, if you have a wacom, it is crucial to update the released pilot the other day.

  • Need to export files with layers automatically selected

I have a file with a background and various text layers.

I want to select each layer of text individually and export them to a file, but I don't want to do this manually because there is a lot of work.

My question is, I would say how photoshop for export X number of files. Where X = the number of text boxes.

File > scripts > export to files layers might work.

  • Different colors in PDF format

    ww.jpg

I'm trying to do a simple little brochure in Indesign (my first time), but when I save this document to PDF the color near the Palm tree is a little darker than the rest of the black. I took the black color of the Palm tree photo (it is surrounded by black) with the eyedropper tool, so it must be exactly the same color on the right?

It is a JPEG file and matches the black color, even on the highest resolution. Do I did wrong when recording in PDF format?

InDesign has preferences how black is out or read on RGB devices.

    In Preferences > appearance

Black display on-screen display Accuartely or display in Rich Black.

I have mine to display the value accurately.

This affects only RGB devices and nothing to do with the PDF for commercial printing.

  • How can I reduce the size of the file when you save a psd in pdf format

I have a psd with graphics and text, it is 8.5 x 11, 300 dpi

I flatten the image and go to save as .pdf file I uncheck all options in general.

Compression, I tried a dozen different combinations and the way I found to get a document that is not pixelated or blurred is to use JPEG 2000 > lossless or jpeg > maximum.

So I have a document of high quality but the file sizes are approximately 900 KB.

I downloaded the documents of others of the exact same type and size (8.5 x 11, 300 dpi) that I have seen in Photoshop, they aren't pixelated or blurred and their file sizes are 300 KB or even less than 200 KB

    How do do that?

    Delete all layers used, invisible.

Zip compression is sometimes better than the jpg compression (in the pdf output settings). Zip is lossless and it works best with a color not degraded or not images.

Flatten the image before saving it to pdf format can reduce the size of the file, if you use the jpg compression.

See a preview of your pdf file and we can comment further on how to reduce the size of the file.

  • Huge file size savings advice of art in PDF format-

I have a file with several art cards with a large number of images of high resolution on each of them.  I need to save these files in PDF format individually (or two, three at a time) in my case, but when I do, the PDF size seems to encompass the entire file, rather than just the advice of art I chose to export.  For example, I have 10 Art tips, but I export only 1 work plan and 5 as PDF - my PDF file is huge.  But, if I had to create a new file with just the tips of both art and saved as a PDF file from there, the size of my PDF is about 20% of the size. Obviously, I don't want to have to recreate these files whenever I want to save as a PDF, that's why I wanted them all in a single file in a first time.

Any ideas on how to handle this?

Just these pages as PDF export and make sure that you do not check "Preserve Illustrator editing capabilities" in the PDF options

Is it possible to stimulate using acrobat javascript or javascript livecycle @under a key press button?

For ex. I click on a button and who work as Atl + F (File menu) or win + R (run box) under windows.

LiveCycle Designer uses the same JavaScript engine that Acrobat and Reader when the LiveCycle form is in PDF format. So, as stated in the form Acrobat JavaScript, the JavaScript engine and capabilities. As explained in the Acrobat JavaScript forum, JavaScript used in Acrobat or Reader is the willingness to 'sand' or very isolated from the JavaScript of your computer program. This was done to protect users of form Acrobat or Reader to run malicious code.

It might be possible if you were writing a plugin add-on using a computer program have complied and the information provided in the Acrobat SDK kit. You must manually install this program on your system. For others to use the code, you will need to register as a developer with Adobe and have each user to install the code on their system at their own risk.
