Problem image customization file folder icons, (tiny change).

After going through the procedure of customization via properties, for an image file, (to change the thumbnail shown/s), I need to run Disk Cleanup, deletion of the miniatures, so that the change is taken into account... that folders with thumbnail reload.

It's new... only through the most recent files... all ages records take any change in the usual way.

I hope that's clear enough to ask for help and thank you for everything offered.

Finally, back again... let you and all those who might be here that I found a solution that requires only two extra button clicks:

.................................................................................................................................................................

Folder properties > personalization:

1 photos folder > click on choose a file... > choose file (but ignore Apply)

2. folder icons > click on change icon > click Restore Defaults (in change icon) > click on apply

..................................................................................................................................................................

What... easy 'workaround' found last night. Thanks to "ak40saj" in Windows 7 Forums.

This isn't a matter of life and death but Ive got about 200 subfolders (with graphics) and modify them individually will be soul destroying and dead all simply too short.

  • Problem with the files not showing (after changing the USB mode)

I have a sansa fuze 4 GB. version V02.01.09A. OS: Vista Service Pack 1. My rocket was working fine until about a week ago, when it stopped charging. but after installing the new norton 360 sansa is more appeared in my computer or Windows media player at all. I tried updating the driver but it says that the pilot was already up to date. I tried other USB ports again (front and rear), did not work. I decided to change the USB mode and it has finally started to load again in MSC mode.

now, for the problem I currently have and, when I click on sansa via my computer and go to the music folder, it says "this folder is empty". I unplugged and watched in my music list, and all the music is there. I tried to put a new song on the player, disconnected, and when looking through the songs of the player the new song is here. I reconnected it, the new song is in the music folder, but the other songs are not listed. In addition, I have a microSD card that is listed as "o" in the car, all the songs I had on this appear, but not those on memory internal to the sansa.

How can I get again list all music files in the folder?

Note: I do not sync as it has only some of the songs I want on my sansa. the way I add songs is to copy and paste to the folder of the sansa player

Okay, I don't know why or how, but it works now in MTP mode. I saw you are solutions, but I decided I'll just change the mode before trying to have ideas. until I reconnected it I also removed the microSD card, and it worked perfectly (make a backup of my songs). the problem could have the sd card in all this time?

Update: After experimenting a bit, I find that I can always change records created before August 10, 2012. All records created after this date are refusing to accept changes "Customize this folder" or by changing the view "large icons".

I tried a system restore, but my first restore point is August 30, 2012, so this is probably not the problem.

It drives me crazy because I just returned from vacation with 450 photos to change and I can see them only in Details view! Any help to rectify the problem would be much appreciated.

    Hello

    1. don't you make changes after August 10?

    2. What is the location of the files, with which you are confronted with the question?

    Method 1: Run the fixit

  • How can I change an icon with a custom icon that is downloaded from the internet (i.e. not already in the file "bowse icon")

I want to customize my desktop icons to make it easier to read. When I right click, select Change icon, select Browse, I see all the icons I want to use. I downloaded a custom on the internet and saved on my desktop icon, but I don't know how to replace the old icon by this news.

Tried to drag on the old icon without success.

    Hi Larry,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand from your description, that you cannot change the folder icon with a custom icon uploaded to the Internet.

I'll be happy to help you. This problem could be caused because you may not have selected the right path or the location of the file that you downloaded or the downloaded file may be damaged or does not work or does not exist.

I suggest to follow the steps below and we update on the State of the question.

I recommend you to check or find the location of the file or path where exactly you downloaded and to check whether the file is actually present in the location and also check the file is fully downloaded and work very well.

    a. Subsequently, navigate to the folder that you change the icon and right-click on the folder.

    b. click Properties, click the Customize tab, click change icon, and click Browse.

    c. Select the correct path inside the menu drop-down or enter the correct path manually from the exact location of the downloaded file.

    d. open the file downloaded for the icon, choose the name of the file and click Open to select the file, and check to see if it helps you.

If the problem persists, then I suggest you to download the file once more on the Internet and save it in a new folder and check the issue.

  • Problems with images and files.

After a computer no serious crash a few 6 months or so there are certain details applicable to each image below the icons of my photos turned the black normal script in blue and it is only in a few cases, although it doesn't bother me too much and they can be used, can it be reversed as it is annoying? recently, another point when I load more new photos to a new folder, if some require clock or anticlockwise, I sometimes get this notice of refusal, "cannot rotate this image that this file can be used or opened in another program or file or the file may be read-only." but none of this can be good as I just placed it new pictures in this folder. How to correct these problems?

    Hi J MVP, volunteer

Thank you very much for the information that informed me of the files compressed, I asked several people about what it could be, but nobody seemed to know, your solution worked a treat, I've heard of file compression but has never had the need to use this method at all for a reason, and it was only caused initially by the computer crash.

To answer your question above, the source of the images are directly from the camera, a Sony DSLR 550, via a USB cable, they are loaded into the computer, directly in a set end folder, there is reason for the type or the date at which the photos were taken, which is located in the folder "my pictures."

Then I get to work with it on Photoshop, after I saw what I want to keep or discard, it's when I have a few photos activate in order to view properly, this problem only comes to occur for the first time as yesterday.

At the same time I could turn several photos at once 3 or 4 + at a time, but it will now allow me only to make an at once it does not account for the rest, too, sometimes in the past when I turned a picture turned it the image on the screen but the icon remained impassive (this can happen sometimes at 3 or 4 in a row) When I then performed the same maneuver to the next image in the sequence, the previous icon also then becomes his main image returns to its initial position, but this happens only rarely.

Only when I turn it dose it then right and eventually become stable, these odd little blips, I put in place with for some time, but this last problem, the fact that I can now have a soft image to look at, but can not turn as the computer says 'No', I must confess a again becomes quite painful.

I've never confessed to be a computer buff, I want only to work on the photos for me and my pleasure to families and our web site, but when things like this crop up I admit that I have no idea where to start and so the reason I am looking for assistance.

Thanks much again for all your help.

    Best regards

    Nice camera...

OK... with regard to the question of the rotation... I don't know exactly
answer, but will provide some info that may help you solve
the question. I'm sorry that the message is so long but here
is a lot of things that could be involved. I'm sure you

Since you're using Photoshop to rotate your images...
It is possible that the solution might be found in Photoshop

Personally I do not download photos via a USB cable...
on the one hand, it irrigates the batteries from the camera. But the
main reason is that corruption can develop in the photos
If the batteries are low when the download is triggered.
An example of how this happens download photos
immediately after a session of photos long when batteries
are low. I suggest to use an internal or external

Given that the question of the rotation recently developed... make one

  • My Music folder icon continues to change

The My Music folder is supposed to display the icon "note of music in the folder" rather than the regular folder icon.  This is not so for my user profile.  Explorer Windows recognizes the folder in the My Music folder on my profile.  It does not display the correct icon.  I can't change icon in the properties of the folder; the option does not appear for some reason any.  I went in another profile on my computer and record music right click my profile and managed to change the icon.  It worked, but only until the computer is restarted.  The icon of music then returned to a regular folder still once.  I tried using the Microsoft Fix tool that corrects this type of problem, but it could not solve the problem the first time and could not find the question about the second time.  No other profiles on my computer experiencing this same problem; It is just my user account only.  I'm out of ideas.  Does anyone have any other suggestions?

  • JPEG image is displayed in the selected image files folder

When the discovery of the computer and selecting the image file folder - I use to get the small real individual images of each image in the folder without having to enter in the Windows Photo Gallery.  Now, I have only an icon, the same as that for each of the images and the only way I can see that the actual image is to select a specific icon and hope that is the image I'm looking for.  Can someone tell me how I can get all the individual photos in the folder of image file to display when I select that folder?

    Hi looking, advanced

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Answers.

I first suggest you to change the display of the photo icons folder type medium or large icons and check if that helps.

To do this, follow these steps:

Open the photo folder. Click view > select icons medium or large icons.

Make sure that default programs > associate a file or protocol type with a program, file types .bmp, .ico, DIBs, .jfif, .jpeg, .jpe, .png, .png, .tiff, .tif, .wdp file names must have the default program like Windows Photo Gallery.

Otherwise, select the type of file name, click on change program and browse to choose as default Windows Photo Gallery.

Additionally, set the global folder options

To specify the global settings that apply to all folders, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Folder Options.
    2. On the general tab, click the options you want.
    3. In the view tab, click the options you want.
    4. Click OK.

Note To restore the default settings for all folders, click restore defaults on the general tab or on the view tab.

Use the same display settings for all folders

You can apply the same view settings to all folders on your computer. You cannot apply the same view settings for all folders, images icons, toolbar settings or tasks folder. To apply the same view settings to all folders, follow these steps:

    1. Locate and open the folder which includes the display setting you want to use for all folders.
    2. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
    3. On the view tab, click apply to all folders.
    4. Click Yes, and then click OK.

Note To reset all folders to the default display settings, repeat these steps, but click reset all folders in step 3.

Hope the helps of information. Please post back and we do know.

Click Customize , and then click change icon tab

Select an icon in the icons in the list, and then click OK
