Problem importing new photos of an old folder

I use Lightroom 3 with a MacBook Pro. When I "Edit in...» Photoshop Elements' I'll save the changed file in JPEG format in the same folder as the RAW file. But Lightroom can't see for me to import into the catalog. When I look in a window of Finder, I see the RAW, the PSD file and the JPEG file. But in Lightroom, I see only RAW and PSD files. No matter if I try to 'copy', 'Add' or 'move', the JPEG format is not visible. The only work around I have found is to save the JPEG elsewhere (office), and then move it when you import with Lightroom. What Miss me? Thank you.

When you change in... Photoshop Elements and then create a BACKUP (not SAVE AS), the edited JPG is already in Lightroom. No need to import it.

  • Impossible to import new photos to the default catalog in LR3, 5

    Hello!

    I'm in LR3, 5 on OSx10.5.8 and recently, I lost the ability to import new photos (from hard disk). My default catalog (so far I use only) contains pictures of appx.33k and I can't import to new shots. Yesterday I was shooting tethered camera and everything went well. Today, I wanted to import new files (from disk) and noticed that 'import button' is totally inactive. Dead. I have implemented a new catalog and managed to process the photos today, but when I switch to the previous catalogue the 'import' button is always dead.

    Thoughts? Ideas? Help, please!

    Thank you in advance!

    I try to rename/move the preferences file and see if it helps. I see that you have exported the entire catalog as a catalogue. The exported catalog normal behavior?

  • Import "New Photos" broken in LR 4.3 RC?

    I take a series of images, insert the SD card into the card reader and import the images in LR 4.3 RC.

    Later, after taking more pictures I insert the SD card into the reader, click on import into LR and it is now all the old images with "-2" added the file name.

    "New Photos" are selected at the top of the import dialog window.

    4.2 LR did not what I remember - is this a problem experienced in 4.3 RC?

    Occurs on 64-bit Windows 7 and OS X Lion mountain.

    You also have "don't import suspected duplicates" checked in the "File management" Panel of the import window?

  • Unable to import new photos from a card?

    Hello, I use Lightroom CC 2015 (latest version).

    I have not now why I can't see my new photos to import. I created a new catalog and I get the same problem, not able to see the photos I want to import.

    I used the bridge to see if there was a problem with the two cards I used, but it worked OK.

    I think a full restore of Lightroom, because I uninstalled and installed again and my problem persists.

    Can someone help me?

    Thank you and have a nice day.

    HI reborn53,

    Make sure that you selected a valid destination in the Panel on the right side of the module import. It is common to the forecast of nail to be hidden until you select a destination.

    Just give it a try and see if it solves your problem.

  • importing new photos

    I use Lightroom 5.7. I have used for a while now. I tried to import pictures of card compact flash. I can see the images in preview, but when I click Import pictures I get a message saying that the files cannot be read. Is it possible that I can import these photos without it again?

    Hi Gfolks,

    Please copy all the images to the location on the desktop and try to import into Lightroom see if it works.

  • How to add already imported the photos in a specific folder (on a hard drive) in a collection of LR?

    Sorry if this is obvious, but I can't for the life of understand me...

    I'm using Lightroom to organize images for a book project, import each folder of images one at a time and placing them in collections to match the structure of the client files. For example

    * Book project

    * Landscapes

    * MISC

    * Still life

    * Travel

    So far I imported each folder, dragging to images of the option ' import from the previous "in a new collection of LR. Unfortunately, I imported a record (MISC) and then imported another (still life) without copying the MISC images into a new collection. Now I can't figure out how to get the images of the MISC directory in their own collection of LR. I can not re - import them because they are already in the LR library. I don't think that I can remove and reimport them either...

    Is it possible to do without going me through my library and find each image and moving it manually? There are a lot of images then I'm afraid that would take days!

    Thank you!

    I'm curious to know why you need to create collections that seem to have the same content in a folder that you have imported (or I misunderstood you completely?)

    There is no need to create a collection that has the same content in a folder, simply use the file! Creating a collection in this case is extra work that produces no benefit.

    And in the case where it hurts you

    Is it possible to do without going me through my library and find each image and moving it manually? There are a lot of images then I'm afraid that would take days!

    Go to the MISC folder in the Lightroom folder Panel, select this folder, and then select all (Ctrl/Cmd + A) and then drag them to the collection

  • Lightroom CC Trying ├a import 'New' Photos and they are greyed out and say that they have already been imported, how to make their importation?

    Upgraded to Lightroom CC a few months ago and have had major problems with importation, never had any problems before. Since the upgrade I import a map is fine, next card says pictures have already been imported and that they are grayed out. I know for a fact that I matter not yet. So frustrating! Someone please help! I even turned off the 'don't do not import suspected duplicates' box and again, it will not let add me or COPY. I will attach a screenshot.Screen Shot 2015-12-05 at 9.34.04 PM.png

    Yes, I went straight from my card. I always did it that way. Not until the upgrade did I start having issues. I ended up having to download hard disk, rename and then import it. Quite unfortunate that they changed this in the upgrade, it was nice not having to move in all directions and could go straight to LR. Thank you very much for the help!

  • How to import new photos in a recorded book.

    I think I chose the wrong option, when I saved a book, I clicked on save only the photos used, I can't add more pictures. I think that I would have saved a virtual copy. What I have to do it again?

    No, it's OK.

    Now go back to the library and drag photos from the book as if you add photos to a collection. As a tip, do a right-click the book and set it to the target collection. You can then press the B button to add photos. Once you have finished, click on the book, the s icon and return to the book.

  • Lose the photos when you import new

    Hello community,

    I'm probably a dumb user to LightRoom, but I have problems in my workflow. The tutorials that I have reviewed so far are not sufficient for understanding or my question.

    Please find below operations step by step, I had to make the experience of boredom:

    Product of LightRoom, installed with an official number of series, fresh install from scratch

    Opening the software. Create a catalog called Cat1

    Importers 253 RAW format of my series of camera images. The 253 are available in the roll of the bottom of the GUI of LR.

    Make my selection. The treatment of all selected images. Export to .jpg format.

    Importation of 6 new RAW images from the hard drive of the computer.

    Then the 253 photos have disappeared. Only 6 imported new photos when I wanted to add the 6 253 other.

    Is is possible to recover the 253 photos?

    If not, how to add photos to an existing catalog?

    Thanks for your answers,

    Bernard

    Hi Bernard,.

    Please make sure you have the recent Cat1 open catalog in Lightroom.

    Click file > open recent item and check your catalog.

    Also please check in Lightroom in the catalog Panel, if the previous 'Import' option is selected, if so, please select "all photos".

  • Copy 'News Photos' does not work in the import dialog box

    Hello

    I am a new user of lightroom on Lightroom 4.2.  When I import pictures from my SD card I usually leave copies on the map for a while so I have as a backup and also be able to see recent photos on my camera.  However whenever I go to import this card images in LR, it is by default by selecting all the photos on my SD card, even though I have selected at the top of the box to import "News photo" filter.   He always puts all my photos in the "New Photos" section, so I deselect all photos I have already imported in my catalog so I don't get duplicates.  How LR to only import photos that have not been imported bfore?

    I am aware of the option "Don't Import suspected duplicates", but this isn't the samea like what I'm looking for.   It deselects only photos that still exist in my catalog.   All the pictures I deleted my catalog are selected in the import box, as he sees no duplicates.

    Suggestions for what Miss me having LR select only the pictures that have not yet been imported this card?

    Don't know how to explain it:

    "All Photos" will show all images on the card or in the or the selected files, regardless of their "new" or "existing" status. With "Don't Import suspected duplicates" checked, the unselectable 'existing' images, all others will be selected by default. With this option disabled, all images are selectable.

    When 'Don't Import suspected double' is checked 'News Photos' show only the images that Lightroom has no current knowledge. And as we have already said, Lightroom keeps no knowledge of a picture already imported and subsequently removed... so all these files will be considered as 'new '. When 'Don't Import suspected double' is unchecked, each image on the card/folder will be considered to be 'new' and in this context, there is zero difference between "All the Photos" and "New pictures".

    I understand that your wait is that Lightroom will be remember that you previously imported, and deleted an image and therefore do not show it as 'new' again... but this isn't how it works.
