My desktop computer has said that there was a problem with the window.  He said that Vista pack 1 expired July 12.  I installed it when prompted by August 6.  He began to run at 18:30 and HP Tower ran all night with a blue and orange light flashing.  The monitor was gone to sleep.  When I turned on the screen this morning, he said that he had no entry and time to sleep.  What should I do next?    I just got internet on 28 June, so don't know what that what is happening.  I get updates automatically.  Why it that not update.  I use another computer to communicate with you because I don't know what to do next.

  • Problem installing Vista SP1

I am running Vista Ultimate on a Dell Inspiron 600 m and despite many attempts and research, that I still can not to get SP1 is installed.  I tried to use Windows Update and the standalone package and neither one worked.  It is said that an internal error has occurred.  I also tried to disable the drivers that may cause problems with the installation such as those for the adapter and network card.  But in vain.  I've been running Vista on this computer for over a year without SP1. I don't know if it has nothing to do with my computer being relatively old, and it's an incompatibility problem or what.  But I'm running out of things to try.

  • Problem installing Vista Service Pack 1

    Hello

I searched the internet for hours now and have found many people with the same problem but I couldn't find a solution.

I just bought software that requires Vista service pack 1 which I thought that I had already but I didn't so I installed it.
It goes through the whole process of installation and the last section after restarting, it goes to a black screen where it moves well as files or something but locks files 37898/94821 with the message:! 0xc01a001d! (\Registry\Machine\COMPONENETS\winners\x86...).

If anyone has had this problem and know what to do.
My laptop is fine without service pack 1, but my new software needs to work so I have to download it.

    Thank you

    Hello

To be honest, I never had any problem with my Vista updates
The Vista updates automatically every time when I m online and when new updates are available

How have you tried to update the Vista operating system?
Have you downloaded the SP1 version first on the HARD drive or do you run an automatic update?

If the automatic update does not work, try to download the SP1 version first, and then start the update procedure:

    SP1 can be downloaded here:

  • Problems installing Vista SP2

OK, since the release of SP2 ive tried to install the Windows Vista Edition SP2 Home Premium x 86.

    Ive tried: [all this unsuccessfully]:

    -Installation in safe mode

-Installation after removing my anti virus program.

-Installation after you change ownership of all the contents of the C: drive to my account.

-Install the standalone version, all languages

-Install the standalone version, 5 languages

    - And things more...

Some notes on my system important:

-Its a preinstalled Windows Vista Home Premium [do not know if it came with SP1] install on my laptop: Acer Aspire 7730 G-644G100MN.

-As it was an English version of Windows Vista, when I arrived [which is weird, because I live in the Netherlands] I changed the language in Dutch using Vistalizator, the only program out there that allows you to change the language of your windows installation.

-Windows Vista installs each update without any problems except for the SP2... I get the error message is: 0x800F0823

-Some time ago I discovered something very strange in my laptop: the owner of the contents of the C: drive has not been saved to the Group administrators, but something else [he could not find the owner, something like that]. So I changed the property to my account [which caused some viruses to wake up, somewhat, but those that have been cleaned in place], which enabled me to access my program of all the files in the folders [which I couldn't do before, and that was the main reason I changed ownership: I was not able to run or install programs] really weird stuff]

However today still sometimes the change of property to the non-administrateurs, which is really weird... And annoying, for example, yesterday I installed the game blur, but I wasn't able to run it because I was not allowed access to the game files, even if im an administrator!

So I changed the owners once again, and then everything worked fine.

-In addition, before I changed the property, I did a sfc/scannow, who found errors, but has not been able to correct.

    I guess that's about it.

Please help me solve this problem!

    Kalaar,
What you can try to do is to uninstall the pack of Vistalizator program\language.  Then run SFC again and if it can solve the problems, then try to reinstall SP2.  If SFC finds problems and can't always fix them after the Elimination of this program, then you need to reinstall Windows.  You can perform upgrade inplace or a clean install, and all updates, including SP2.  Thislink gives information on performing an inplace upgrade.

  • Problem installing Vista SP2 FastCGI

I'm trying to install php using FastCGI. When I go to the mappings Manager-> Add Module Mapping, in the dropdown Module I don't see FastCGIModule.

From what I've read FastCGI is part of Vista SP1. I found the answer to my problem here:http://www.witsuite.com/support/knowledge-base/manual-installation/install-iis-fastcgi.php#enable-iis-fastcgi-module-on-windows-vista the point here is the answer to my problem:

    Enable the IIS CGI feature

Service Pack 1 of Microsoft Windows does not automatically activate for already installed IIS FastCGI module. To activate it, deactivate CGI and then turn it back on.

I had to reboot my system and made the mistake of turning on CGI before applying any updates.

  • Problems installing VISTA updates

Recently, whenever my PC downloads updates for VISTA, it fails to shut down properly, just says it's installing updates - that is never finished. On reboot, the computer allows me to connect and instructs the bureau, but crashes after about two minutes, no matter what program I use.

    Hi Sallybettymary,

    1. you receive messages or error codes?

    Method 1:

    Step 1:

You can check the status in safe mode.

Start your computer in safe mode

    Step 2:

If you are able to boot into safe mode without any problem, you can try to perform a clean boot and check.

A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.

You can read the following article to put the computer in a clean boot:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

After the troubleshooting steps, please refer to clean the boot link to put the computer to normal startup mode.

    Method 2:

    Step 1:

You can also check in the history of update to see if updates failed to install.

    a. open Windows Update by clicking the Start button, all programs and then click Windows Update.

    (b) in the left pane, click view update history.

    c. to display more information about an update, double-click it and check for errors.

See the Windows updates are installed

    Step 2:

If impossible to install updates, then you can try to download the stand-alone package of failure update from the Microsoft Download Center and see if it helps.

    Hope this information is useful.
