  I bought a laptop Acer Aspire ES1-311-C9XM earlier. Only, it came with 2 GB of RAM so I decided to upgrade the RAM. After doing some research on the net, I discovered that it could be upgraded up to 8 GB of RAM. The RAM module that it was originally a SKhynix HMT425S6AFR6A-PB 2 GB PC3L - 12800S - 11 - 13 - C3 1600 MHz 204pin SODIMM. I found a RAM module of 8 GB which form with the original, a CMSO8GX3M1C1600C11 of Corsair 8 GB DDR3L 1600 MHz module, but when I replaced the original 2 GB of RAM with the new 8 GB of RAM (there is only 1 of RAM), the laptop that showed 2 GB available RAM, as well in the UEFI (BIOS) and in Windows 64 - bit of 8.1.

  I tried to take the new RAM module to insert it again. No difference.

  I tried to reset the UEFI (BIOS). Still no difference.

  I tried to get an update of the UEFI (BIOS) on the Acer site. He was not part.

  Well, after trying the RAM without success last week, I was ready to try to return it, but I thought find the answers here and try all the suggestions initially (IronFly thank you for your answer).   I bought ES1 - 311 with 10 windows recently. After using it for awhile, I observed that the wifi is always got disconnected even if I have no problem with my other devices, e.g. telephone, tab, etc.

  I deleted and reinstalled the driver from Device Manager wireless, but still I have faced this problem, and there really make me piss off with this laptop.

  I hope I'm not the only one who has this problem! Any solution of members is really appreciated.

• ES1-311 bridge randomly freezes very frequently

  Hi I have a couple of Acer Aspire E13 es1-311 and have the same problem with both. The pointer freezes randomly and I have to press fn + f7 a few times to unlock it. This happens so often, like every minute or so.
  I've updated the bios and drivers, but still it does. Can anyone help please?

  Either by the way, I think I've fixed this now. The pilots were not updated when I used "update driver" from Device Manager. I had to plug a temporary usb mouse and then uninstall the drivers of pointer, restart and install the updated drivers.  This seems to have worked.

  How does the SD card fit in ES1 - 311, does it go in its entirety, or because it sticks out like the ES1-11?

• Wireless Keyboard/Mouse Combo problem - keyboard, the mouse is not

  I have the combo keyboard and mouse depending on:

  In my workplace, we have 6 all in thinkcentre PC side by side on a desk. Recently, a mouse has stopped working, I then noticed that the mouse was infact controlling one away from the PC, even though she already had a both mouse control everything!

  I tried the key F2 + F3 + F4 on the keyboard combination, out batteries, changed the port USB receiver is connected to, reinstalled the drivers & checked the correspondence of the serial numbers on the keyboards and mice.

  Nothing has worked, worse yet another computer furthur down did exactly the same problem!

  Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem?

• Satellite M30X problem: keyboard speed.

  My keyboard responds late and sometimes stutter. I can type, but can not play games that require the keyboard, because timing is all out-of-whack. I checked the Control Panel keyboard settings and they are fine.

  Just a possibility, make sure you have all enabled accessibility options dealing with the keyboard and mouse. Some of them may have effects that you describe. You can check on the ACCESSIBILITY tab in the control panel.

  as mentioned on my other problem (System does not close properly), I can't turn on ACPI in the BIOS settings. For now, there are only limited options, so I think there must be some sort of advanced settings.

  Is it possible to activate more options in the BIOS (version 1.11)?

  For anyone having the same problem: support Acer told me other options in the BIOS can not be activated.
