problem mapping 2 subnets together

Network configuration: modem router (192.168.1.0) and host 1 and powerline leading to another room with a second router connected to the wan port.

WAN port takes a static IP in 192.168.1.0 subnet and this router runs a gigabit (192.168.0.0) subnet with host 2, tell.

Suppose we have a host of each side.

My networking seems to work when it comes to web browsing or ping host - on-"remote" - router (however pings host 2 host 1 but not vice versa), but it does not appear as it is, on the network adapter.

On each side, I see a router only, a globe host and the internet.

Because I can't see in the other subnet hosts I can't share folders.

If a homegroup is allowed on a subnet only, how to share folders between two hosts?

It would make a difference if I put the second network using 172.30.30.0?

> Is it possible to Exchange files between host 1 and 2, provided that they are on different subnets?

No - not on the local network.  You will need to use some kind of remote access software.

> In addition, Router 1 is also a print server, but how do I send a print to host 2, if I can't see and share the > printer?

You can not. You have to put them on the same subnet (or still use one remote access).

I find some of your message confused and contradictory (static DHCP, static ip assigned dynamically to host 2).  Unless you have an unusual special need, you make it unnecessarily complicated.

See the referenced below instructions on how to reconfigure "Router 2' to act as a WAP and switch.  (Unfortunately this model TP Link router doesn't have a configuration item click for this, but it is not too difficult).  The a parameter that could raise an issue is what IP address to enter in step 2.  When in doubt, I suggest you use 192.168.1.200 since I could not find info on the default DHCP range assigned by the modem router and which should be secured.

  • Problem network two computers together

Both computers have at least one account with the same name and password?

A very old (but XP has been around for a long time) message by Malke MVP MS:

For XP, start by running the Network Setup Wizard the on all machines (see warning in section A below).

Problems sharing files between computers on a network are usually caused by 1) a misconfigured firewall or a firewall neglected (including a dynamic firewall in a virtual private network); or (2) inadvertently run two firewalls such as the firewall of Windows and a third-party firewall. and/or (3) do not have accounts to the same users and passwords on all computers in the workgroup. (4) tries to create actions where the operating system does not.

    A. configure the firewall on all machines to allow traffic to local area network (LAN) as being approved. With the Windows Firewall, it means which allows file sharing / print on the Exceptions tab normally run the XP Network Setup Wizard will take care of this for these machines. The only "witch hunt", it will turn on the XPSP2 Windows Firewall. If you are not running a third-party firewall or you have an antivirus with "Internet Worm Protection" (like Norton 2006/07) which acts as a firewall, you're fine. With a third-party firewall, I usually set up the allocation of LAN with an IP address range. E.g. would be 192.168.1.0 - 192.168.1.254. Obviously you would substitute your correct subnet. Do not run more than one firewall. DON'T STOP FIREWALLS; CONFIGURE THEM CORRECTLY.

    (B) to facilitate the Organization, put all computers in the same workgroup. This is done from the System applet in Control Panel, the computer name tab.

    C. create the counterpart of the user accounts and passwords on all machines. You do not need to be logged into the same account on all machines and assigned to each user account passwords can be different; accounts/passwords just need to exist and to match on all machines. DO NOT NEGLECT TO CREATE PASSWORDS, EVEN IF ONLY OF SIMPLE. If you want a machine to boot directly to the desktop (a particular user account) for convenience, you can do this. The instructions on this link work for XP and Vista: set up Windows for the connection automatically (MVP Ramesh) - http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Autologon.htm

    D. Si one or more of the computers is XP Pro or Media Center, turn off Simple file sharing (Folder Options > view tab).

    E. create share as you wish. XP Home does not share the users directory or the Program Files, but you can share folders inside those directories. A better choice is to simply use the Shared Documents folder. See the first link above for more information on Vista sharing.

    F. you have the job of file sharing (and tested by exchanging a file between machines), if you want to share a printer connected locally to one of your computers, share of this machine. Then go to the printer mftr Web site. and download the latest drivers for the correct system. Install them on the target machines. The printer must be collected during the installation procedure. If this isn't the case, install the drivers and then use the Add Printer Wizard. In some cases, printers must be installed as local printers, but it is outside this response.

  • Printer 6510 problem to put back together again!

Hi all.  I had a printer jam on my photosmart HP 6510. After several attempts, I was able to clear the jammed paper, but in doing so, I had to lift the printer by hand under the printer to clear some paper to the back of the lower part of the tray of the printer.   Some of the components of the printer (which resembles a pair of wheels of runner grey rubber attached to a kind of shock absorber and a spring) are now coming out of the bottom of the printer. I don't see how to adapt these components back where they are part of the suggestions? Thank you, (see attached photo)

    Hi @SamAustralia

It took me a little bit, but I think that I thought about it. At one point, I thought that I had broken the 6510 I used to reproduce the problem

Remove the piece of plastic far enough to push back the roll under it. You will need strength a little, but not enough to break the plastic.

    Then look the other way;

There is a small black piece that sticks up (like a post), he goes to spring (you may need a flashlight to see it better). Now the Board will push all the way back in the printer and Voila! Fixed!

Please let me know if that solves the problem.

After you have scanned a number of photos, I can see the individual images in the folder where I saved them.

However, when I click on one photo, I can also see others who are somehow related

in the only picture that I consult.

How can I break these links without disturbing the other photos?

    Thanks in advance.

    David,

    Please contact the Microsoft Community.

What application you use to open the photos?

If you have multiple images in the same folder, then you can access all the others using the button forward or backward in the application (Windows, Windows Photo Gallery etc. Photo Viewer).

If you want a single photo to open, then it must be placed in a separate folder.

  • Problem! Garland of two Tektronix scopes

    Hello world

I'm having problems trying to string together two oscilloscopes from Tektronix TDS 210 identical GPIB port on a single computer. If only one scope is enabled, LabView can recognize, however when the two are put on rather than recognize them as two separate instruments, it seems to get confused and claims it is only an instrument that does not work.

I managed to exclude certain fundamental issues, for example the GPIB leads the two oscilloscopes are known to work properly and a Garland of oscilloscopes and a different instrument of GPIB works very well. I also tried two possible configurations of the chain, that is to say; the two scopes directly into the computer or a single scope in the computer, then a GPIB drive between the staves.

I have attached a few screenshots of errors that may be useful

    Any help is very appreciated!

    Thank you

It would be explained in the manual. With some instruments, you put the dipswitches on the back. With others, it is made of one of the instrument on the menu screen.

    Hello

    Mine is edge 15 i3 - 330 M, 2 GB, ATI HD5145, Win7 HP 64 (0301 - 48G). All drivers and BIOS are updated.

Originally, it carries 2 GB RAM PC3 - 8500 (Hynix) on board. I bought another key Hynix 2 GB. It is absolutely identical to the original but PC3-10600.

After I plug in the memory in the free location, system starts up, but the screen 800 x 600 pix, with "ATI drivers not found message, etc.", so it seems like there is no ATI card, and it works in emergency mode. In the video properties, ATI drivers is replaced by "VgaSafe", and the monitor is "standard".

Each module of memory works well separately, but I have a problem using two modules together. Is this some sort of IRQ problems, memory sharing with graphics card problem, or it can be caused by the disparity of frequency memory or...? Help, please.

  • VPN IPSEC RV220w problem

Hello, I hope someone can help with my problem.

I have a RV220w in the office, I set it for ipsec vpn connections. Behind the router, there is a NAS for file storage.

    My setup as follows:

RV220w 192.168.1.1 with dyndns, configured for ipsec vpn with default Client strategies.

Remote location (my laptop) local IP: 192.168.3.2

Remote site VPN IP (given by ShrewVPN): 192.168.30.5

I managed to connect to the router at home with ShrewVPN and I can ping each client connected to RV220w.

The problem is that I can't connect to the web interface of the router or the NAS web interface or any other web page intranet (the browser gives no error, but continues to load without displaying the web page). Even if I can access the web pages of my laptop.

In addition, in windows Explorer when I log into the NAS, although I can go through the files, I can't copy the files from my laptop on the NAS and vice versa, I still get timeout error (I checked the permissions on the NAS and also I managed to copy a txt file small 1 KB) (, but no luck with large files).

I also tried with QuickVPN client, but I got the same results.

When I connect with pptp windows everything works like a charm.

My laptop has windows 7 64 bit.

If you need other configuration details, please advice.

    Thank you

Hi Spyros, one of the differences between IPsec and PPTP is that IPsec requires the client that connects to use another LAN IP address, when you connect. Unlike PPTP, it is assigned by the router.

Another difference is that the requirement of bandwidth is much higher for IPsec connections.

I don't think it's a problem of IP subnet as you are able view readers to all least, then it means that the unit can accept connections from different subnets. But it is possible, it may be a problem of download speed. QVPN needs Mbit upload environ.5 to have an activity and a reliable and quality connection.

Another problem may be a matter of downtime with IPsec encryption. The RV220W has a non routable WAN address. This suggests to me that you have another router upstream. Time to answer through the IPsec tunnel can be volatile because of the translation through multiple jumps.

  • access to the mapped network drive

I have two computers connected to a mapped network drive.

The drive is an iomega ix2 implemented for windows shares.
The first computer running Windows 7 Professional 32 bit SP1 - since this computer that I have no problem mapping and to interact with the network drive, as I expect.
The other computer is running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit SP1 - since this computer I can map the network drive, but when I try to copy anything to the drive it stalls and guest then the error "there is a problem of access to Z: /...» Make sure that you are connected to the network and try again.
Nothing to try again is only still flaws.
I lived the steps described in other posts on the deactivation of 128-bit encryption, but that did not help.
    What can I do?

  • SG 300-10. Fiber mapping of ethernet ports (VLAN)? ...

    Hello

the incoming fiber on ports 9 and 10 are on different subnets.  I need to map the subnet on the 9-1-9 ethernet ports and port 10 on its own.  I have the device IPv4 address a static address on the same subnet as port 9.  I don't know if there is an easier approach, but I tried to map the ports using VLANs (see attached screenshots).  We do not yet have the fiber link for port 10, so I have not had the chance to test, but I wanted to confirm that my setup is healthy.  I used the vlan by default for ports 1-9, because I need to manage through this subnet.  I added vlan 10 for 10 port, but I do not know if I have it configured correctly... Please notify.  Thank you.. !

  • Why hasn't MX320 Solution Menu scan option

When I initially installed my MX320 in Windows Home Premium, I installed the Menu Solution and used successfully to scan documenets and back up the files on my computer for several years. After my mother destroyed auto map, I put together a new computer with a hard drive completely blank (no residual programs). I have re-installed the mx320 using the original drive and now the menu takes has no scan option to choose from. I tried to download the software and drivers absolutely without success. Is it possible that the installation of the 'real' Solution Menu is limited to the original installation?

I also unsuccessfully scanning for the PC by using the control panel of the printer. He goes into a long "Please wait a moment" and poster possibly 'sleep scan PC' forever.

I know that these issues were discussed in detail with any forthcoming solution. My solution is to replace the printer but for sure not with a gun.

I contacted Canon Support and got a response in less than a day. The problem is that you must download MP Navigator to your system in addition to the Menu of the Solution. I did this and a Scan biutton appeared in the Soluion Menu. The scan function worked as before.

  • WT32ON - cannot release more wide range of IP addresses

Hello, we have our DSL installation on a static IP, with up to 8 + devices, on a WRT32ON. We believe that we have set the correct settings

    IP: 66.55.204.12X

Def gateway: 66.55.204.12X (diff IP of course)

    Subnet mask: 255.255.255.248

    DNS: 207.5.171.1

We then offer a beginning IP 192.168.1.2 DHCP router.

We have these 5 conections, perfect running, including 2 wired and wireless 3 (and we have the problem of password all together here.)

The interface of the router, the setting of a maximum amount of users is apparently stuck at 5. We tried to change, 100, 99, reset the router, which has never, but once we enter the static IP address settings, it is always default to max 5 users.

A person can offer what we're doing wrong.

    Ty, Eric - CMMS

You change the subnet mask IP LAN (in the drop-down list) of 255.255.255.0 to 255.255.255.248. You LAN consists only of 192.168.1.1 - 7 IP addresses. That's why you can't have multiple LAN IP addresses.

As I wrote before: do not change the LAN IP subnet mask. Leave it to 255.255.255.0. Simply enter the 255.255.255.248 internet settings NOT in the settings of the LAN IP address.

The router is connected to two IP subnets: the LAN IP subnet and subnet IP WAN connection to your access provider to connect to your computers. The two subnets can separate IP addresses and subnets. They are entirely independent of each other. So if you ISP instructs you to use 255.255.255.248 then it's for the subnet IP WAN (internet connection into the router settings). You are always free to use all LAN IP subnet to use as long as you use IP addresses private like 192.168.1. *.
