• Problems using the Gradient in Camera Raw

  Just yesterday afternoon I have a new problem developed using degraded in Camera Raw, unitl it was working fine. When you are working on an image when I click on the gradient tool your pop-up window appears which says 'Unable to create local adjustment. All local adjustment controls are defined to have no effect on the image.

  I looked in the preferences panels but can't find anything that relates to this issue. Any ideas on where the problem is maybe? I use CS5.5 Suite on a Mac Mini.

  The warning gives you a clue. Change any of the default settings, or choose a preset, and then create the gradient.

• Radial filter in Camera Raw 8.3 tool does not show

  If have updated Camera Raw and do not see the radial filter tool in the taskbar near the graduated filter tool. Anyone know what is the problem here?

  I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think that the radial gradient filter is only a function of CC.  Rather than using CS6 via the cloud, you should use Photoshop CC.  Although you can use the same ACR plugin, all features are unavailable in CS6.  So, if you pay the subscription, why not use later?

  When editing files JPEG or TIFF in Camera Raw, you do not get a true Kelvin WB setting... you have zero to 100 or zero adjustments to WB - 100. It's a lock and you can not change the behavior. If someone made an adjustment in degrees Kelvin, while they were working on a raw, not a JPEG or TIFF file. Simple as that.

  THEN POPS UP A DIALOG BOX SAYING: SELECT A DESTINATION AND EXTRACT FILES

  I CLICK EXTRACT, AND THEN OPENS A NEW WINDOW OPEN FILE SECURITY WARNING I THE LANCE AND THEN OPENS ANOTHER WINDOW OF WELCOME TO PROFILES CAMERA INSTALLATION WIZARD I CLICK INSTALL AND THEN ALWAYS POPS UP AN ERROR MESSAGE WINDOW SAYING:

  First off, you should be downloading and installation of camera 5.7 Raw which is the latest version of Camera Raw for CS4. Secondly, why you declare that you have to manually install Camera Raw? Last point, you're messing around with "camera profiles" in your message that has ZERO to do with the plug in Camera Raw itself... the profiles are for DNG profiles in the camera calibration tab if you have not installed Camera Raw is questionable.

  To download the 5.7 version go HERE. There are instructions to manually install the profiles and the plug-in Camera Raw.

Then you can either right click on the image and select open in Camera Raw, select the picture (click it once) and press Command/Ctrl-r, or go in ACR preferences (not the Bridge preferences) and select to open all the JPEG files in ACR.   When I edit my portraits in Camera Raw or Photoshop and save as that sRGB JPEGS they all look very well seen in Bridge, Camera Raw, and Photoshop.

  If I find the portraits in Microsoft Picture Viewer or create a site web age of portraits in Photoshop and view in Internet Explorer, images look over saturated (especially reds) and all the portraits look like they are empty, blushing, heated and glowing!

  Unfortunately, most of the people I email, send images or post them on the web, will be viewing in a Microsoft application and therefore, they do not appear how they should do with the saturated reds.

  Arian has a solution to this is not in the dark. I can't point to invest in CS3 and a professional monitor if my edit looks nothing like the output. Information would be welcome.

  Other apps are not color-managed, and your screen probably isn't sRGB.  Poster many recent LCD using the Adobe RGB range - and the images on those without the sRGB color management will look saturated (especially the Greens and the reds).

  Because applications are not color management, you cannot do much how how your images will look.  Convert to sRGB is the normal way to handle it, but it is not perfect, as you discover.

  BTW - browsers other that IE are much better on the use of color management and honoring color profiles embedded in images.

  Your elements version is too old.  You have the Camera Raw plugin version 9.0 or newer to open raw files D7200; However, PSE12 can only be updated at CR 8.5.

  Choices are upgrade to PSE14 or use the free DNG Converter 9.0 or newer to create your naves DNG and the DNG is open in old software.  The DNGC can be found here: http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/

• Difference in Camera Raw 7.2 and 4.2 Lightroom

  Camera Raw 7.2 appears to have introduced a color management problem, since the Adobe Standard camera profile is no longer present in Camera Raw 7.2, whereas it appears again in the 4.2 version of Lightroom.

  This means that exports of raw files from 4.2 Lightroom to Photoshop CS6 as an external editor are converted from Adobe Standard (the default Lightroom) in one of the presets ACR in Camera raw, resulting in a significant color change.

  Since it seems not possible to choose the profile used by Camera Raw on the fly when using Photoshop as an external editor of in Lightroom, then this cannot be corrected.

  The only solution seems to be to set a default profile such as Standard v4 camera in Camera Raw and make sure all the images in Lightroom are assigned to this profile during import so that the color remains consistent while editing in Photoshop.

  You may remove or uninstall everything related to Adobe lately? ACR and LR should see the same set of DNG profiles unless things have been deleted or moved. You can try to download the most recent version of DNG Converter 7.2 and do an installation. This should replace all the current DNG profiles with cab 7.2.

• camera raw 7-2 won't install in Photoshop CS6

  try to install the beta version of camera raw 7-2 in Photoshop CS6 on MacBook Pro, OSX 10.8.1.  Installation begins, then I get Error Code: U44M2P15. I tried the new downloads of camera raw, restart the Mac without result. Any ideas?   I need this version to display the Sony ARW files generated by the new camera Sony DMC RX100.   Thanks for your help Jeff. I wish it was that simple.  I finished on the Adobe customer chat where some very kind technicians helped me. In the end, the problem has been resolved by reinstalling CS6.

  It was a lot harder than it looks!  I ran uninstall photoshop 6, which has encountered an error. Following the advice of the error in line, I then installed the Adobe cleaner and run it a couple of times, with restart. There is always Photoshop 6 files sitting in the Utilities folder. I dragged in wastebasket manually. Photoshop 6 move not, giving an error message at half way through.  After that almost 2 hours tech chat and multiple interventions, the Mac has started in safe mode and repaired permissions, reinstalled photoshop from the original CD, and then upgraded.

  Camera raw 7.2 was then installed successfully, and now my Sony ARW Rx100 photo are brilliantly displayed in Bridge.

  I hope this helps someone else out there who has similar problems. Another installation of camera raw 7.2 on different mac (OS10.8.1) under Photoshop 6 was without event.

• PSE 8 - Camera Raw plugin is no longer loading

  I hope that someone has faced a similar problem and help put me in the clear.  The way I was usually process my RAW files (.) CR2 a 60 d) is to open in the Organizer (adding to the Organizer, highlighting, then right-clicking and clicking on 'Edit with Photoshop Elements').  Usually, this load in Camera Raw Viewer, which allows me to make quick changes to the White Balance, exposure, etc..  Today, I tried to do as I always do, and instead of throwing the viewer Camera Raw, it was simply opening PSE 8 and open each image in subwindows.  Not funny when I'm 50 + photos at a time.

  Any help is appreciated!  I wonder if a setting has been changed is to say things simply open the files as used instead of RAW files.

  The resolution of the screen is the problem. I think that camera raw needs a minimum screen

  resolution of 1024 x 768 to display the dialog box.
