Norton 360 often leads to problems, so I want to uninstall it. You cannot disable really her that he will always load
pieces of himself in the memory. Uninstall it and then run the Norton removal tool to avoid problems of
causing leftovers that can cause strange problems. The following recommendations to use during the test,
even better all the time.

Here's what I use and recommend: (these are all free and very effective versions.)
Avast and Prevx proved extremely reliable and compatible with all I have
launched on them. Microsoft Security Essentials and Prevx have also proven to be very
reliable and compatible. Use MSE or Avast and Prevx, Prevx 3 but not all.
Avast Home free - stop any shields is not necessary except leaving Standard, Web, and
Operation of the network.
Prevx - Home - free
Windows Firewall
Windows Defender (is not necessary if you use MSE)
Protected IE - mode
IE 8 - SmartScreen filter WE (IE 7 phishing filter)
I also IE always start with asset if filter InPrivate IE 8.
(It may temporarily turn off with the little icon to the left of the + bottom
right of IE)
Two versions of Avast are available 5.x and 4.8 x
Avast - home - free - 5.x stop shields you do not use (except files, Web, network, &)
Shields of behavior) - double click on the icon in the Notification area - real time Orange - click on the
Shield that you want to stop - STOP. To stop the Orange icon to show an error indicator-
Click on the Orange icon - top right - settings - click on the status bar - uncheck shields you
disabled - click OK
http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download
Avast 4.8 x - home - free - stop shields, you don't need except leaving Standard, Web,.
and the network running. (Double-click the blue icon - look OK. - upper left - Shields details
Finish those you don't use).
http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download#TAB4
Or use Microsoft Security Essentials - free
http://www.Microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/
Prevx works well alongside MSE or Avast
Prevx - home - free small, fast, exceptional protection CLOUD, working with other security
programs. It is a single scanner, VERY EFFICIENT, if it finds something come back here
or use Google to see how to remove.
http://www.prevx.com/ <-->-->
http://info.prevx.com/downloadcsi.asp <-->-->
PCmag - Prevx - Editor's choice
http://www.PCMag.com/Article2/0, 2817,2346862,00.asp
Also get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you ever think malware and that
would be unusual with Avast and occasional Prevx running with the exception of a low level cookie
(not much), to UPDATE and then run it as a scanner. I have a lot of scanners and they
never find anything of note that I started to use this configuration.
I hope this helps.

are there problems of compatibility with the V6 and Norton 360 as there were in the past?
When I tried upgrading to a newer version, a number of my functions of Norton 360 would not work and I got a pop-up message indicating that there is some sort of compatibility issue. I got eventually back to V4.
No there aren't any 'problems' with Norton. Norton has released a fix for compatibility for Firefox 6 last Tuesday, a few hours after Firefox 6 is out.

HP Simplepass will not work after reinstalling Norton 360 on windows 8
Hello:
I am running Windows 8 on a new computer dv6 HP Envy. I use Norton 360 anti-virus. Norton apparently does not work with Windows 8 correctly b/c every time I have download updates via Norton I can't run all the tests. So I uninstall Norton 360 and reinstall, which allows then to Norton 360 works correctly. HOWEVER, whenever I do that (which is at least once a week and is VERY VERY VERY VERY BORING!), HP Simplepass DOES NOT at all. It says in the device, biometric devices Manager:
Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19).
HELP HELP HELP HELP! You pay tons of money for a new computer and it has constant problems. Can not a fix it or give me some help to fix it? This irritates me a LOT and will probably cause I DO NOT to BUY another product HP or Norton MORE EVER!
Owner of unhappy HP,
Josh
Well, you could just not use Norton. I confess that I'm not a fan of Norton, so the decision would be easier for me that it could be for someone else.
There are a lot of other options out there that will work for you.
=====================================================================================
The Windows Defender software has been reorganized for Windows 8. Not everyone says we should run with this one. It is worth visiting and worth implementing in your first line of defense.
Windows Defender has the advantage that it "plays well with others", in other words, you can run this program in collaboration with the other security.
Windows Defender will not 'take down of your computer' or make unusable just because you turn it on.
HP computers - solve and protection against viruses on your computer (Windows 8)
More information about Windows Defender:
Activate Windows Defender in Windows 8
OK, what to do?
If you want, take a look at Avast Anti-virus. There are paid and free versions. The software has a good reputation and is easy to install and use. The paid version (Avast security) has a number of features, including network monitoring, control rules and a 'sandbox' in which you can run restricted access programs (for banking, etc.).
Other options can be found at:
Overview of the security of Windows 8
Comment:
My personal experience with Kasperky includes some of the same adventures that I had with Norton - I have succeeded with an older version of the software, so closely bind things that I managed to block the system. It's real easy to Bumble and more difficult to manage that I liked. Great software - I doubt that anyone else could have hacked the system easily - I could not get anything to run, I doubt that anyone could have dug made far away in the computer either. The smile.
=====================================================================================
SimplePass, in particular, has an aversion to Norton, even though I've heard of him along the Norton software.
- You can try a few things to get SimplePass works again:
Reset the laptop:
Laptops - forced Reset to solve Hardware and Software questions waterproof Non-removable battery
Laptops - use Hard Reset to solve Hardware and Software issues - removable battery
Try reinstalling your current validity sensor driver:
- Control Panel > display icon > device management > biometric devices > Validity Sensor >
- Right click on the driver Validity Sensor and "Uninstall" (do not remove IT)
- Restart / reboot the computer and log in
- The driver will reinstall it connect you to
=====================================================================================
Good luck!

Why after an update my Norton 360 registry cleaning is a registry key not valid?
This time was the in update for Adobe Reader, but I saw it with some other updates as well. I noticed this problem in my computer after that microsoft has passed to outlool.com. From there, I started to get the registry changes any time I open microsoft Explorer. This is the reason why I switched to firefox. My registry now remains unchanged any time I open Firefox, but it continues to be a problem sometimes when I run the updates. Normally, I check my record before and after the execution of the update. I contacted and complained to microsoft, but I never received a satisfactory answer.
My computer runs on windows XP.Please notify.
Thank youIt is not really possible to answer this question without knowing the keys to register in question. Have you tried to ask Symantec why their product keeps complaining about registry keys?

My windows7 home premium system seems to work well (I keep very current, the updates of windows every morning and installation of all the most important immediately) as well as java and adobe updates and of course, all firefoxupdates, automatically)
I have firefox occasional accidents--maybe two months or thereabouts - but few attended and they have never created any big problem I see.
HOWEVER, recently while watching closely and time a Norton 360 first Full scan system, I noticed that for more than 30 minutes, Norton 360 ran through Firefox and landfills error reports. It resembled a large number of report of Crash of Firefox with file system objects. As an accumulation of a lot must have been everyone since I bought the new PC 3 years ago! Is this normal? Can I clean out / erase all those? How can I do?
You can clear on crash reports if you wish, they are especially useful if you have a reproducible crash.

How can I get firefox to enable norton 360 to work?
I upgraded to firefox 17 now my norton 360 will not work. How to get a Firefox that allows it to work?
Norton publishes an update to each new version of Firefox, usually on the same day a new version of Firefox is available. You must run Norton Live Update several times to be sure that all updates are downloaded and installed. You can usually find the Norton update for the version of Firefox by typing into Google "norton 17 firefox compatibility" (including the quotes) and its replacement by the current Firefox version number, if not Firefox 17.
Here is the Norton information on compatibility with Firefox 17. Read it carefully.
Other - you should check your Plugins and update as needed.

Norton 360 Connection Wizard does not work with Firefox 17
I just upgraded to Firefox 17 and found that Norton 360 "Connection Wizard" (officially named Identity Safe) no longer works. He does not fill in the username and password fields. It worked great and did all the right things when I was using Firefox 16. There is probably a miracle solution, but in the meantime, I had to go back to version 16. Impatience the problem is resolved.
