-Problem of activation Microsoft Office on new machine virtual Windows Vista

I use a MacBook Pro on which I have just updated the Parallels Desktop virtual machine software.  This software has removed the earlier version (doesn't give me a notice, unfortunately, so my Office software deleted it from the virtual machine image).  Now, when I try to run office software in the virtual machine running Vista, I get a notice I need to activate the software.  When I try to activate online, I get a message that I've already activated all copies that I am allowed.  When I try to activate by phone, I'm going to "activate by phone" in the activation wizard, press the 'next' button, but then the activation wizard stops without giving me the phone number.  Help!

  • 'No operating system found' when you create the new machine virtual de DVD

Hi, I had problems with the creation of a new machine virtual (Server 2008 R2).  After the initial creation, I turn on - then starts immediately to the network.  I tried to change the boot order in the BIOS and even removed the NIC via Virtual Machine properties.  I built VMs repeatedly using this method.  I use an ISO DVD that I know, I created works.  I select "connect to E:\. "that is my DVD drive on my laptop and have restarted (loses connection every time the DVD player).  I even changed the type of E1000 VMXNET3 network adapter - makes no difference.

I feel good and truiy perplexed!

    Any ideas?

You can connect the ISO remote only when the virtual machine is running.

I suggest you set a delay (or get into the BIOS), in the property of the VM, press ESC during POST to enter the Boot Menu, select CD but wait to confirm.

Connect the ISO and now start to begin.

If you still have problems, try to update in a clean boot state:

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135/en-AU (don't forget to return to a normal startup when finished).

Office updates may fail if the update files, look for the original installation files. Sometimes the complete file download remedies this problem or put the installation media in the installation drive can also help. If still no, you may need to do a repair installation.

  • I can't run activision 1994 shanghai game eye of the dragon II on the new machine of windows 7. It ran fine on the XP machine

My 1994 shanghai eye game activision II of the dragon does not not on my new machine of windows 7.  It ran fine on the XP machine.  I used the windows troubleshooting utility for the old software and indicated he was running very well on XP service Pack 2, but convenience store said activision shanghai II is not compatible and advised me to come here for to help.  Thank you

You can always try Compatibility Mode.

Right-click on the game. EXE file and head of real estate. Then go to the Compatibility tab, check the "run this program in compatibility mode for:" box, and then select from the drop of the version of Windows the last game ran (try Windows XP Service Pack 3, and work toward the bottom.)

Another option is to run the wizard that determines what settings to use. On the Compatibility tab, click on "Help me choose these settings", and then follow the on-screen instructions.

  • Why Microsoft did remove the ability for Windows Vista to install on herself from one location other than being inside the BONE you want to fix it?

No Option to install repair - SAD

    Hello

Why Microsoft removed the ability for Windows Vista to install on herself from one location other than being inside the BONE you want to repair.

I recently had a problem where Vista Business 64-bit would only boot to a black screen with a mobile cursor - KSOD.   Who, in searching the Web I found is a fairly common problem with Vista.  I discovered that my only option was about to reinstall Vista CLEAN and all the other programs I had installed under it.  I can't believe that Microsoft released the 'repair installation option"similar to that of Windows XP, where you can hit the"R"key during installation and we left with nothing but the"System Restore"options and"Startup Repair ".  Neither of which has helped in my situation.  Since then, this was a dual system boot with XP Pro, then any restore point has been removed from the partition to Vista anytime, I started another recognized problem, by Microsoft, which Microsoft has made no significant effort to fix, in addition to recommending that you hide the partion Vista in XP - a whole of XP.  That beats a little the entire purpose of dual boot.

As I tried to start in safe mode, it left me at the same point as a normal boot - black screen with a cursor.  I tried ctrl + alt + delete and nothing. Two Windows RE options did not help me.  This left me no option but to the completely reinstall Vista.   Why Microsoft did remove the ability for Windows Vista to install on herself from one location other than being inside the BONE you want to repair.. Please don't tell me that it is because Vista uses an image file instead of an installation as XP system.   I see no other reason for not allowing the upgrade of outside BONE in addition to Microsofts greed and paranoia that he can transform the operating system easier to install illegally.  I hope that some third party has actually changed the Vista installation routine to allow you to install Vista on itself, because as it is, it's really hard for me to even recommend Vista as the operating system or install any where else, if not the only recourse after loading OS, is to reinstall completely.

Adobe, Autodesk, and almost all other software publishers... allow you to perform a "REPAIR" of their software installation, if something prevents you to load after installation.  Even MS Office has a routine repair.  Ms has an internal version of the Setup routine which allows outside the OS upgrade option that you want to "Upgrade" / repair? ".  If not, why?

"Why Microsoft removed the ability for Windows Vista to install on herself from one location other than being inside the BONE you want to repair."

«.. . After using XP's repair function, the operating system itself would become less stable and frankly not in a good state of repair. »

    As Todd, is the answer.

"This response does not hold water as on one of my computers I've been running Windows XP for about four years now, after a repair install.

Then, you were lucky.  Try to replace the system files on a computer that does not start even at a desk or safe mode usually will get a return to office, but will probably repeat the same problem in a few weeks.  Tech professional would only use this function to retrieve the data before a complete reinstallation.

"I thought that this area was a place to really get answers instead of the ole same"answers of bs that are on all the other forums."

It is a place that will try to help you fix your computer if you have problems.  It has technicians in computing, no decision-makers, developers or executives.  We will try to answer technical questions about problems you might have with Windows Vista.

If you want to have input on the future of Microsoft operating systems, then help you beta-test and provide feedback to the developers.  Windows 7 and IE 8 are currently in beta.

Another possible place you could make suggestions which could see the developers would be:

  • How is it that some machines running windows vista, when the router is updated or changed, they show "limited or local only" when you reconnect then wireless.

problems with wireless Vista "local only".

How is it that some machines running windows vista, when the router is updated or changed, they show "limited or local only" when you then reconnect wireless... nothing else was changed on those computers and other devices can connect ok?

    Hello

Each router is assigned to the specific address (called IP address or IP address). And each router maintains its own database (called as base of router) to follow the networking devices communicate with him. When the router is changed, the particular router is unable to detect the device, especially the network card to communicate with the computer.  Since he does not have details of the database of network devices, communicate with him.

  • Stretch machine virtual windows on two monitors

Stretch the window machine virtual windows XP mode across two monitors.

Windows 7, videocard, NVIDIA G Force 210, two ASUS 23 "monitors a VGA the other DVI

I can stretch the other windows like adobe reader across two monitors, but the XP virtual machine window can be extended a bit bigger than a monitor. Virtual machine window can be passed a window to each other very well... just not expandable wide two monitors.

It would be useful for a program of CAD drawing two pages visible at the same time.

    Thank you

  • Can't set up any Accounts of Microsoft on a new computer laptop Windows 8 pro.

Today, we bought a new laptop ASUS T3000 with Windows 8 pro.

We tried to use our hotmail (Accounts) of Microsoft Management to manage this laptop.

However, we receive the same error, no matter what account, we try the installer.

    Code: Ox80060101

Two accounts of working on pc Windows 8.1 under the same roof.

Using the temporary local account on the laptop, we are able to connect to the internet and connect to our Live Hotmail with the same username and password accounts.  If the connection is not a problem.

The laptop is new without further modification or patch downloads.  All other mentions of this fault (and there are many go back sometime) see the point in time restores and uninstallation of patches.  Not an option for us.

What can we do to use our Microsoft accounts to manage our this new Notebook

    Hi Erick,.

I'm glad that you were able to solve the problem.  Thanks for sharing the solution.  Feel free to post your query if you are having problems with Windows in the future.

  • I have a problem starting up a Windows XP Pro Machine virtual Windows 8 host system (which has VMware Workstation 10.1).

I am new to the virtual machines.  For several months I've been running a Windows XP Virtual Machine in an old machine of Windows 7 with VMware Workstation 7.0.  The hard drive is having some problems at times, so I thought that I could move the virtual machine on a new computer that has an OS 8.1 Windows and VMware Workstation 10.  For example, on the Windows 7 machine, I copied the directory with all the * .vm files and pasted into the machine to Windows 8. But when I tried to start VMware Workstation 10 in Windows 8 machine, I got the message "this virtual machine policies are too old to be run by this version of VMware."  I went to the knowledge base and used the solution described here: I've deleted the lines of three 'policy' of the .vmx file and added the suffix .ancien to the .vmpl file, which actually disabled.  Now, when I try to start the virtual machine, the black screen appears with the VMware logo in the Center and everything seems fine, but Windows XP starts.  And logo VMware guard churning away as in a continuous loop.  It is not easy to stop.  The only way to stop VMware is via the Task Manager or restart the machine.

What must I do to get the Windows XP Pro VM to run in the new machine?

VMWare technical support suggested that I have disable 3D acceleration (VM > settings > view and uncheck the box 3D graphics acceleration).  The virtual machine starts now with some minor problems, but it is usable.  But by closing accel 3D turns, in the words of the Technical Support Engineer, David, that there is "a problem with the graphics card not imitate or through its capacity to the virtual machine.  In other words do not support to the VM guest 3D acceleration. "My next step is to make sure that I have the updated driver for the Intel HD Graphics 4600 display adapter.

    Minor problems are:

    (1) the virtual machine works best in screen mode reduced.  There are a few problems speed mode full-screen.

    (2) the VM will still work after switching on of the host.  But after execution of the virtual machine, if power you the virtual machine and the release of VMware workstation, then later, start the workstation, the virtual machine will power not.

To turn it on again you must out of VMware Workstation, disconnect the host machine and then reopen it in one.
