  Have you checked if the new HARD drive is seen in the BIOS?

  From my own experience, this message appears because the BIOS does not recognize the new HARD drive and then the laptop trying to boot off the last option that is; LAN.

  In my view, the size of new HARD drive is just too big.
  Usually, the BIOS supports a limit on the size of HARD drive and so the biggest hard drives are not recognized properly.

  I recommend you test a HARD drive with a smaller size; Perhaps an 80 or 100 GB would be possible.

  I want to change my dvd player for dvd writer 'toshiba SD-R6472U' on my toshiba 1410-801!

  I can see in the bios option "already changed" HARD and the DVD drive, but once past the toshiba screen seems to say "IDE 1 #error" error message. and the dvd player appears not in the "my computer" I tried to put a jumper to put the HARD drive in salve, master mode and cable select anyway even problem!

  Don't you know that the use of the incorrect firmware or not is not compatible would be detrimental to your CD/DVD drive?
  You should only use the firmware provided by Toshiba.

  I checked the page European driver of Toshiba and found 6 different firmware updates.
  There are updates for the reader:
  TS-L633P, TS-L633A DVRTD08A, DVRTD08L, TS-L632P TS-L632H

  You got the message because it seems that you used the wrong firmware or is not compatible!

  So if you want to Flash the firmware using the Toshiba files European page:

• DVD player has stopped writing DVD on my Satellite 5200 801

  Quick question that I hope someone knows the answer to. My DVD player stopped earlier for DVD writing (several relocations of system have proved that it is the reader and not a pilot/conflict error) so I put the hand on another drive. Fitting was easy, however, it seems that there is something funny with the ide channel configuration in this laptop. The old drive was put on CSEL, however, the new drive is set as slave. because of this the HD or the DVD player are available.

  Does anyone know how to pass to CSEL dvd players to make them work (I tried to put the jumpers on the hard drive to change between a master and a slave, but with no joy.)

  I found information on your device and it seems that you can upgrade the laptop with a wireless Mini PCi Card. Wireless on this unit standard is 802. 11B. In addition the PA3212U-4MPC is a 802. 11 b but I m not 100% sure if it s compatible.
