  There was a problem connecting to the server 'SERVER NAME' error guard appearing even though the server is not on my current network.  I recently moved my iMac to a different location and a different network, and now he constantly tries to connect to the old server.  This message appears every 30 seconds and several of those who appear (see pictures) it's extremely frustrating because it makes the machine almost useless because I am constantly closing them.  No matter how many times I try to stop the activity monitor it it keeps reappearing, and I even tried a few terminal commands that I found online, then restarted the computer, but still had no success.  I would appreciate all the advice really.

  The links must travel with the illustrator file. In other words, you can't send someone your page layout and not send them all the assets placed in the layout. However, you can embed links, but their incorporation will make your file much more available.

  Use the links Panel to incorporate images. Click on the small icon in the upper right corner of the control panel link drop-down list. I've included a screenshot.

  InDesign on Mac with 10.8 CS6 have problems with links. All links to other files need to be updated when you open a file, although absolutely nothing has changed for linked files.

For example, we create a file Tuesday, save it and open it again on MAC same exact Wednesday and all links to other fields (.indd, .png, .bmp, etc. nothing rare) must be updated because they all show the yellow triangle + black exclamation point symbol next to them. Someone else knows that, what can we do? We have absolutely everything tried and updated all the software from MAC OS to CS6 itself, but nothing seems to help for the long term.

  In fact, we noticed that there also seems to be something wrong with the timestamps:
  If we open the news via the MAC finder to a file (.psd for example) which is linked to one of our indesign files, it has a certain date of creation.
  If we then switch to the Indesign file that we just opened in which we had to update all the links and open information to exactly the same file looked at us in the finder, another creation date is indicated. So there also seems to be a mistake here (hope it is clear what I mean).

  Our network we are excluding the error cannot be "re-enacted". We have created several test files in Indesign (simple white page with a link to a .psd file which is also used in one of the allegedly defective files) and opened on different MACs with different versions of the OS over the past few days/weeks, but unfortunately files open without notifications or errors.

  Just as a background: a few months ago the problem seems to occur between MACs with different OS, 10, 6-10, 8 first. A file that was created on a MAC 10.6 could not be opened without updating all the links on a 10.8 Mac is why we've updated everything to 10.8. The error will not occur for about 2-3 weeks but then reoccured again. ?

  Have you heard something similar?

I have a page (www.site.com/index.php) I want to copy in the subdirectories (e.g. www.site.com/about/index.php) then I want to do the copy as painless as possible by using the links from the site root (e.g. /about/index.php). It works on the internet but NOT on localhost.

• Problems with the "use tiny file names...". "checkbox in the settings of WebHelp box

  Given that the RH 9 is only able to run on Windows, the checkbox "Use tiny file names..." ' (see image below) can cause some unexpected problems when generating output for a unix (or linux) platform. I found this recently when generating output of web for a project that is visualized on a linux platform machine and met hundreds of broken links unexpected help.

  

  If this is the first time you generate your project output, this function works very well - it converts all topics, image files and all what it takes to display help, lower case. However, if for some reason, you had generated previous outputs without this box, and now you have decided that you want all your files output in lower case, just check this box and regenerating the output will not work.

  The reason is simple - the Windows operating system does not distinguish between upper and lower case in file names (e.g., fichier.htm name is the same as the FILE name.) (HTM). UNIX (and linux) are case-sensitive and treat these files are two separate files. Therefore, HR fact not (cannot) change existing file in your folder names with this checked out and gives no message indicating such when generating the output. In this case, the only way to solve this problem is to delete the folder containing your output files and have HR to regenerate your project from scratch.

  I had an additional problem which has made things even worse. In a project for a linux platform, I have unchecked the box during the creation of project by accident (perhaps over a period of days or weeks). Then, due to another problem, I had to restore my project at an earlier stage. At this point, I discovered that my necessary help links of the files using lowercase and uppercase the filenames for all work very well.

  I've seen no mention of this in the HR documentation, so I thought that I must draw the attention of the HR community.

  I have a project that has many tools to work in pdf format. By clicking on the table of contents, we have a message, "Please wait the aide-memoire load..." It is successfully for 20 or 30 working tools. I created a new topic, then copied the 'real' code of something existing and pasted into it. Then I changed the url of the pdf to get the correct file and I've also updated the htm file name. I can't load the working tool.

  Thank you guys. I didn't know that there was a space in the name of the pdf file that was not in the code above. I still have problems, so I started from scratch. I deleted the file of theme and luggage, then compiled my project. I made sure that the htm file had disappeared also. Then, I created a new topic, adding the baggage file and copied the code to an existing topic, change the news and information of the link redirection. (I thought I had done this before, with the exception of the compilation). Once that I've recompiled, voila!

• Problem with links to another Web page when using the Internet

  I can open any website, but when there is another highlight link to another Web page I get an "Error on Page" message down to the left of the screen when I try to access it. When I point out this message, I get the message "no such interface supported." This is on a HP Pavilion dv 7-3173 nr notebook new. I use Internet Explorer 8 and the operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium.  I have disabled the firewall without success and it occurs either wireless or ethernet connection.  A typical error detailed message is as follows:

• connection printer MG7520 problems with password, and the new name of the router

  I had to change my router network name and the password (the actual router is the same, but the network name and password is different). Now my Canon MG7520 won't 'talk' to my lap top, room rvia wired or wireless LAN (that worked before). My guess is that I need to "tell" the printer name and the password are different, but I know dn't how.  I tried to download the software and run it (that is to say, all over again) but when I do I get an "unable to acquire information on the driver and software.

  Any suggestions?

  Yo are quite right that any time changes to network configuration, the printer must be given new items.  The printer can be connected directly from the operations Panel, and I have included full instructions HERE.

  I'm having a problem with the wireless on my laptop. Its a HP Pavilion dv6000 and just under a year of age. I had no problems with the wireless until recently. I use the laptop at home and usually the internet is very well (apart from the occasional disconnection), but when I'm at school do frequently connect to the school network (I am a student of the University, and there are several routers throughout the school and in the many buildings).
