Satellite A350 run hot?

Hello.
I think the purchase of A350 laptop computer.

I looked in the staples and it was running hot. Is this normal for Toshibas or was it just this laptop?

Rogi.

Hello

> three of my friends have the same problem with different models
Just a matter of first;
The laptop stops automatically during execution of some high performance applications?
ISN'T IT?
Well, in this case the temperature is NOT too high because laptops are equipped with different sensors that would require cell phone to automatically close to prevent the equipment from damage!

You should know that most recent generation of laptop is equipped with high-performance CPU and GPU which create a lot of heat dissipation!
It is NOT SERIOUS that that's all by running a game or watching a movie, you will notice a higher temperature on all laptops portable computer from the manufacturer

Sometimes, however, the temperature can appear at a critical level if the cooling modules are clogged with dust and debris. In this case the cleaning of the cooling modules would be useful. I clean my cooling fans with a jet of compressed air.

Greetings
Jimi

Whenever I press the "FN" key on my computer A350 satellite laptop (Windows Vista Home, SP2), there is a bluescreen error :-( I mean, it's nice to have some sort of button to bluescreen, in any case, I would need the button working again to be able to use some settings such as the brightness of the display or external display...

    Hello

Your laptop is equipped with preinstalled Vista SP2 or you have installed SP2 as well?
What you can try is to remove the VAP (value added package) and after restarting the laptop installed the latest version you can download from Toshiba support and download page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com

    Please post the result.

  • Satellite A350-02 t on the basis of normal operations, seems slow

I just bought a new Satellite A350-02 t to replace a non-defective Toshiba laptop. My old laptop was 1.6 GHz AMD Turion Dual Core with 2x256KB of cache L2 and 1 GB of RAM and slow. Often, I have to wait for the programs to load or switch between the screens.

My new laptop is 2.16 GHz Intel Pentium Dual Core with 1 MB of L2 Cache and 3 GB of RAM and seems to run pretty slow as well. I was expecting to fly compared to my old laptop. And I really haven't had the opportunity to put to the test. Everything I do is surf the internet, word/pdf documents visualization and personalization of the laptop.

Is this normal or do you think something might not work properly?

Also, I've first turning on laptop, it took about 2 hours to complete the initial Setup.
    It seems normal?

    Hello!

Well buddy, it's not easy to tell what is the reason for this and I think that it s only a software application or something else that make the cell phone a little more slow.

You use Windows XP or Vista? If you are using Vista, you should check this Toshiba document:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/FAQ9401B10001R01.htm

If you have installed some 3rd party applications remove them and defragment your HARD drive at any time.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.

    Good bye

  • Problems with the reader of CD/DVD on the Satellite A350-12j

    Hello

I just bought my laptop, Toshiba Satellite A350-12j, two weeks ago and am generally happy with it, but I can't seem to read correctly the data DVD.

When I try to play a DVD that I burned on my data desktop PC, the laptop starts to read, but takes very, very long time.
When I try to copy the data on the DVD of my laptop, it takes forever (I tried once for 45 minutes and then abandoned) and after a while it starts to claim it can read most of the files on the DVD.
It is not the data on the disks which raises problems, cause when I transfer those my desktop to my laptop computer on a Flash DRIVE instead of a DVD, files are copied immediately without problem.

At first I thought it could be due to the DVDs themselves (I use TDK DVD + ROM), or perhaps that Vista was the culprit, but I tried the same exact discs on my friends laptop Medion also running Vista and it is having no problem whatsoever.

Anyone have any ideas what could be the cause, or better yet, which could solve it?

    Thanks in advance!

    Eva

    > When I try to play a DVD that I burned on my data desktop PC, the laptop starts to read, but takes very, very long time.

Hmm I think this could be a problem of DVD not entirely compatible.
My laptop drive s couldn t read or write DVDs from different manufacturers.
I tested a lot of disks and now I m using TDK DVD-R.

But it of always different. Maybe your drive would not support this disc correctly, but another disk would be better supported

I think you should test it simply. There are many manufacturers different drive don t give up buddy

  • Satellite A350 - lines on the screen

    Hi all

About 6 months ago I bought a Satellite A350. Had no probs at all until there is about 2 weeks where a really faint horizontal line would appear running on the screen, about halfway to the top. Then a few days ago the bottom all the half of the screen went sort of grey with very thin vertical lines... half still apparently normal superior.

Anyone know what this could be? Any help would be appreciated

    Hello

    > Anyone know what this could be?
In my opinion, the case is clear: the internal display seems to be defective and must be replaced or have you tried an external monitor? If the external monitor works properly, you need a new internal view.

An authorized service provider can help you share and order a new one. On the Toshiba page, you can search the nearest ASP.

  • Can satellite A350 - I change the size of the partition?

    Hello

When I bought my Satellite A350 I noticed that she was divided into 2 discs, 1 C: drive called Vista who had 149GB and the other player called E: data which has 147 GB with 141 GB of free space that contains a folder named HDDRecovery giving a total of about 300 GB.

What I would like to make which I do not know if it is possible, unless I send it away is the following: unpartition 2 readers is 1 disk, partition it then again in 2 discs but this time Vista C: drive to have 250GB while the other drive E: data with the recovery of 50 GB. I have the recovery disks as well. Do you know if it is possible to do what I want without having to send in the manufacture? And if so, how?

I also run Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1.

    See you soon

    Hello

Hmmm. You can try to reduce the second partition in disk management.

You can find it in the control panel. You will find the link to the System Maintenance and then click Administrative Tools to open the Administrative Tools folder. Click computer management to open the computer management window. You'll find disk management.

As I said above, you could try to shrink, first of all, the second partition, and then could attempt to add the free space on the first partition. But to be honest, I doubt that this would be possible because the free space would be located behind the second partition and you can't add it to the first partition C.

Anyway, check it and play around maybe it will be possible
But note; You should have the recovery disk created because there is always a small risk that you would confuse the hard drive.

  • Satellite A350 - 21 d - Shutdown, WHY?

    I own a Toshiba Satellite A350 - 21 d.

In recent weeks, I knew that the computer stops, while playing games.
I played these games for long I ve had the computer, so I really Don t understand why these cases occur.

So if someone could help that would be great
I updated my BIOS and several other updates.

    Rgds

    Thomas

    Hello Thomas

It is not easy to say why this happens exactly. To be honest, your display doesn t offer relevant information.
What operating system do you use?
Do you use Toshiba drivers only?
Have you can be installed a third party graphics driver?
    What games do you play?
Mobile is hot enough before stops?

Please explain this a little more detail.

  • Satellite A350-20 q - Touchpad does not

    Hello members,

I have a Satellite A350-20 q that is running a Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit operating system. The problem is with the touchpad which stops working when the laptop is connected to the
AC power supply and everything that happens, I can feel the static on the buttons near the tablet which are metallic.

The touchpad works fine when it runs on battery and it causes a lot of trouble because I move around a bit and can't take my mouse around.

I called Toshiba support, but all said, it was to replace the charger that does not make any sense to me but I try, and again, it doesn't help much.

The touchpad works very well when Vista is installed and is not updated, but once the system is fully updated it starts to cause problems and I can't yet determine which update is the cause of the problem that there are many Windows vista updates are installed.

    Help, please!
I installed all the drivers and have the latest synaptic driver installed on the system right now.

    Thank you.

    Abhishek

    > I had called support of Toshiba, but all said, it was to replace the charger that does not make any sense to me but I try, and again, it doesn't help much.

I think that this logic because the touchpad does not work ONLY when the AC adapter is connected.
    I found this thread:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?MessageID=141976𢪘
He has helped about the similar issue and replacement AC adapter!

    > The touchpad works very well when Vista is installed and is not updated, but once the system is fully updated it starts to cause problems and I can't determine same update is the cause of the problem that it is has many windows updates vista that are installed.

How a windows update to do the buttons on the touchpad statically? It is meaningless for me so be it hardware or software s problem

If this software (update of the OS) then deliver the power adapter should not all affect on the buttons on the touch pad but if there s a hardware problem, then the OS updates should not affect the functionality of the touchpad as well

I think that it s a strange question and you should get in touch with a local ASP (partner) in your country in order to check the touchpad.

2 days ago after about 3 months of use, it began to slow down, so a friend of start me 'Cleansing' of my laptop. (Some progs antispyware, CCcleaner, defragmentation, run..) and it also took some start programs op in the MSCONFIG.

After this cleaning, we installed AION and it runs great, computer is fast, once again, all good. Until last night, when I was ready to put the buttons of media and the Strip-light little above the touchpad and the Toshiba brand out, so my battery would last longer, it has stopped working.

Whenever I press the icon to boot, only this icon turns off and then the lightning is reactivated. It sounds like a stupid problem, but it lowers decreases your battery. Now, I checked back on in the MSCONFIG and already ran a repair of the system, but nothing seems to help...

    Friend, Niels

-Sorry for my bad English, I'm from Belgium-

  • Satellite A350 - 12J Faliure of the BIOS after update.

    Hello world.

I am owner of Toshiba Satellite A350-12J (it's the PSALME series). Recently I received the message in Toshiba Tempro, having said that I should update my BIOS, so I decided to do. I downloaded proprer version from the Toshiba site, which was 1.5 and follow the instructions to update (I want to mention here, this isn't my first update of the BIOS). After that update was done to my restarted laptop and does not start again. The screen is black all the time.

When I try to turn the fan runs for a few seconds and then goes down, there is an activity in the USB and DVD devices but it's only for a few seconds and then more nothing.

Oh, almost forgot that HARD drive also works. I read that in the Phoenix based BIOS there is that something called crisis recovery, so I tried, laptop starts in this mode (I can say, because in it is fan of fashion goes up to system and RPM max tries to boot from USB Floppy).

I tried crisis Revovery in several combinations and during the process, it seems that it is flashing my BIOS (crisis recovery disk whith Floppy is read for about 2-3 minutes), but after I wait and give him time to reflash (10-15 minutes each time) for computer laptop stiil starts.

I think that maybe this version of BIOS (1.5) is bad or something. Maybe Somone have original BIOS for this laptop, I would be very grateful for these BIOS or maybe someone has an idea of what is wrong there.

In case someone has the original BIOS was kind enough to send me, here is my email:
    [email protected]

I ' sorry for my English, it is not my mother tongue.

    Hello

    > I have a Toshiba Satellite A350-12J (it's the PSALME series).
It s NOT PSALME series but series PSALWE!

    > I decided to do. I downloaded the correct version of the Toshiba site, which was 1.5
On the page of Toshiba Europe, I find the BIOS update version v2.10

    However, there is only one real solution;
You should get in touch with ASP in your country in order to solve this problem.

  • MacBook Pro mid-2012 running hot (MacOS Sierra)

    Hello

    I have a MBP mid-2012 13 inch with 16 GB. of ram and a 500 GB. SSD

I had it set up with boot camp and dualboot El Capitan and MS-Windows-10

Everything is working, all the features and functions in the two operating systems.

I was very pleased with this MBP.

Recently, I put a new battery in it and upgraded to Mac OS Sierra.

Since then the MBP runs hot.

    It heats up very quickly.

Is this a common problem with macOS Sierra?

Or do you think that the NEW battery maybe causing the MBP get HOT?

I use an adapter to power 85 watts OEM.

The battery seems to work fine.

Several demons as mdworker are running to set up the Sierra which CPU load until adjustment ended.

You can check with activity monitor.

  • iMac running HOT after Sierra installed

Someone at - he had a problem or noticed that their Mac running hot since the installation of Sierra?

In addition, 2 days ago, I got a notice that I had short-term memory application and iTunes and Safari have been paused. It was not all applications running overnight and I have 20 GB of RAM and it showed 18,86 GB have been used. I had to basically force iTunes and Safari to close, and then restart the iMac to free the memory and be able to access the computer.

Never had these problems before the Sierra has been installed. The iMac never ran "to hot' (more than 121 degrees last night - due close to refresh it).

So if anyone ran into any of these questions or knows a solution I would be very happy.

    Thank you

    SAL

    Difficulty installing Sierra

Try each of them in order. A test to see if the computer works properly:

    1. Reset the PRAM
    2. Reset the controller (SMC) system management
    3. Start the computer in Safe Mode, and then restart normally. It's slower than a standard home.
    4. Repair the disk by booting to the HD recovery immediately after that the chime press the command and R keys until the Utility Menu appears. Choose disk utility and click on the continue button. Select the withdrawal (usually Macintosh HD) volume entry of the list to one side.  Click first aid button in the toolbar. Wait the fact button appear. Disk utility and return in the Utility Menu. Restart the computer from the Apple Menu.
    5. Reinstall OS X by booting from the Recovery HD using the command and R keys. When the Utility Menu appears, select reinstall OS X and then click on the continue button.
  • updated my mac pro early 2011 book now really running hot

I wanted from the upgrade of my mac book pro early 2011 I7 quad core 8 G ram 2T HDD

So I finally did. I like it, but now my mac runs hot 116 degrees. the fans are running.

boot time has also more he takes more time.

I used my mac pro for dj book I also do a video mixer.

run final cut pro x no problem

I also do recording on a DAW. never had any problems so far.

I understand is difficult to test on all models is a solution for this.

I thought he was going to improve performance, I don't see it seems to take more time during startup.

How about this circle just turn around.

I know that you guys try.

I hope hear from you soon.

    Thank you

Run programs of type DJ on an Early 2011 MacBook Pro, while also on El Capitan put quite a strain on the machine. Programs of DJ using just the music will pull a use much more memory and CPU than normal, not to mention video mixing as well. That being said, you use a USB jack in a box/audio mixer (like SL3 or Pioneer DJM900) or you use a DJ controller?

I do not think that 116 degrees is too abnormally warm for the type of stress you put on the machine. I would possibly consider a SSD drive. Not only will improve performance, but because you will have parts in SSD, as you would in a standard hard drive, the machine should run cooler.
