Problem of management of power with the Satellite S2430-402

Every time is start my laptop, I get a message saying "%1 is not a valid Win 32 application" under the heading "E-power", thus the Toshiba power management does not load. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the software from the cd, but it does not work, and I still get the message.

The problems began after I installed a program called Ghost Surf 2005 and ran for the first time. Since then I uninstalled but still has problems. I am running Windows XP operating system.

Can anyone help?

Hi Dan,.

It seems that the software corrupted a file which is responsible for the powermanagement! There is what we call common files and it can be replace a file, the installation of Ghost surf!

You can try to solve it with the Windows XP system restore when you set a restore point! Back to a restore point that was resolved before installing the software!

To my knowledge, the Satellite Pro series don t have this port.
For now only the Tecra and some units Protégé(ie: S100) supports this feature.

  • Power on the Satellite Pro 3000 problem

Wives Satellite S3000 has developed what appears to be a power problem

Last night it started indicating that he doesn't have the power of the DC input... This seemed to be a fault of internittent stirring casued DC input light to return cable. Taking the DC Jack off main cable, I discovered that one of the two pins was broken.

Is out today and bought a new 5.5mm/2.5mm DC Jack and reconnected thinking that everything would be OK... but there is no response from the laptop... the DC input light does not come on and neither does the indicator "charging battery".

A multimeter indicates there is 19v DC decision-making.

It seems to me that there may be an internal power problem. Otherwise there may be a problem with the power with respect to the current delivery.

A battery totally buggered may this "non-response"? I expect the laptop to operate on DC power regardless of the internal State and secondary battery.

Ideas appreciated... will see if I can alternative power source and try it before resorting to delve into the bowels of the thing!

    Thank you

    Hello

    > A battery totally buggered may this "non-response"? I expect the laptop to operate on DC power regardless of the internal State and secondary battery.

The laptop should run without battery. If the adapter is ok and if it was connected to the laptop, then it should be possible to start the machine.

If the laptop does not start, then it must be a hardware problem.
But believe me; It's not easy to say what exactly is the problem.

Maybe you bought only a bad power adapter that is not compatible with the Sat Pro 3000?
Or maybe there is something wrong with the electronic power supply on the motherboard?
Who knows?  :| Only the technician who checked the laptop can provide an exact error diagnostic.

I have a serious problem with my laptop Satellite A210-15Y. For two weeks I bought it. Yesterday without warning, I had opened a window to Internet explore and all of a sudden, I got about 20 Windows IExplorer. I stopped it with the Task Manager and then I looked for the update that updates to Windows Vista.

After I installed all the updates again, I received a black with a message as screen "Boot Manager is missing, press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart» Excuse me for my English. I can explain my problem better in German or French. Please help me.

  • Problems starting with the Satellite A100-662

    Hello

I appeal to your jurisdiction after a first contact with the Toshiba support on the phone.
My problem is the following: your computer Satellite A100-662 begins at random, sometimes it starts the first time, and other times it starts only partially sighted power and ignition in market, drive hard s ' lighter than 1 second, the fan runs but the screen remains black.
To start, I tried several things, I had read on the Internet: removed / delivered the battery; power supply only. removed / delivered the same RAM and hard drive.
The Toshiba support me make an initialization of food and a BIOS upgrade. I also set the fan but no improvement!
Because I noticed something by chance: the computer does not start, I tapped on the lower right corner of the computer, and it started but not on the screen. I turned off the computer, and then I'm turned again... He has started!
    What do you think?

  • Power to the Satellite C850-1 kN problem

    Dear friends,

I'm Belgian and I received a call a few weeks ago desperate to an English friend (she's a student).
His laptop computer Toshiba Satellite C850-1 kN 15 months old did not illuminate. No sign of life anymoe...

Much to my surprise the standard warranty period is only 1 year in England (in Belgium and in many European countries, it is 2 years).
And of course that she should have taken an extended warranty, I would have told him (and now she realizes that too of course).

So she send it to me...

For the problem itself, I tied each thing on feeding issues (power reset by pressing the powerbutton for a minute, replacing the power brick, etc., etc., I even checked the current arriving on the motherboard, and it's ok...).

What surprises me is that I find so many references to power with Toshibas (and very little real solutions...) problems.

My friend treats his laptop very well, it looks brand new, I find such a pity to throw the laptop (even for ecological reasons).

A portable well-treated should operate for 4-5 years, at least..., and a decent society should not allow to happen, not even out of warranty (at least not after 15 months).

As you know that these laptops are not cheap (especially for a student...)

Can someone give me some advice (on the warranty or any technical suggestion...).

Thank you very much for your support (and for reading this!).

    Kind regards
    William

    Hello

Obviously some serious hardware problem has occurred, and from my point of view of a few any material part could cause this problem.
I guess that the parts as modules of memory, motherboard so that the CPU may be affected, I assume that it is not possible to say what s wrong here without touching the laptop.

My laptop did lights not because one of the slots on the motherboard was faulty.
After that I removed one of the modules, the unit may be turned on.

One of my friends could not use the laptop because of the failure of memory. Two modules are dead at the same time the two parts have been replaced and unit still works so far

As you can see, the material can start to malfunction it is nothing unusual in the world of large computing
So what I will say; I think laptop engineer should check the hardware parts after you can decide whether you want to repair

  • Problem with external monitor when used with the Satellite P100-434

I'm trying to use a Vizitron L - 151 monitor flat screen connected to the VGA port on the back of my Satellite P100 - 434 (PSPADE)

I find that the screens seem to periodically - feeding cycle windows resize themselves and then the screens settle down again. This happens with the laptop and the external monitor.

I've updated the latest available BIOS V4.20 (November 2, 2007) I use 7.15.11.6369 NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 driver version. I'm under the edition of Vista Home Premium to standard build.

I even resorted to the use of the dvd system recovery to rebuild completely the laptop and the problem persists. In Device Manager I have generic Non - PnP monitor and below that I have a generic PnP monitor I tried and it is not possible to get specific drivers for the monitor Vizitron L-151. * NOTE * I saw dxdiag that the external display is identified the Non - PnP device

The display configuration that I'm trying to use is to have my laptop as the main screen with the external display on my left as an extension to the desktop. In display config my computer screen appears as number 2 with the additional display in the poster as a device 1

While typing this my screens have made this three times and the last time, this IE7 window installs itself to the external display in restored down to size.

If anyone has a glimpse of it, I would be very grateful. There are no problems when the external display is deleted.

_I can reproduce this problem on demand_ by uninstalling the monitor Non - PnP Device Manager.

Sorry, mate, but you ad confuses me a little and be hones I m not 100% sure what you take on
You have some problems with the resolution of the external display or what?

I've found another thread on the setting of the external screen as main screen:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/message.jspa?MessageID=96263#96263

    According to this statement:
    > In display config my computer screen appears as number 2 with the additional display in the poster as a device 1
It seems that the external monitor has been on the main screen and display books internal as external.

I recommend you change this settings and to use books appear as 1 and the external display form 2.

  • A few problems with the Satellite U920T-100

    Hi guys,.

my girlfriend ordered a Toshiba Satellite U920T-100 about three months ago and she had problems with it since. We're not quite sure what causes because they seem to happen randomly.

    The questions are:
-It starts, but it freezes at the Win8 connection with a blue screen (a rather hot blue, no blue screen of death)
-It starts not at all, only after a few attempts
    -It will not stop
-It freezes all by organizing files (for example copy of files from A to B, but not yet large amounts of files)

New: these questions seem to be completely appearing randomly, I wasn't able to reproduce them in any way.

Also: WLAN connectivity is really bad.
The laptop is not able to find networks, while my laptop has no problem with it.
And when he finds them and connect, the connection be lost - once again: no idea why.

That surprises me the most, because in tests and comments that I've read that connectivity has been praised everywhere.

    I have reset factory?
    Run through some specific tests?
Or is is hopeless, because there are so many problems with it?

    I'd appreciate your help!

    Hello

    > I should factory reset it?

I think you should do that because the issue described can be related to system problems, but also hardware problem (HARD drive for example). The resumption of the factory allows you to check if its software or hardware related problem.

Usually, all the problems of software (System) could be solved by the recovery process. Hardware problems would continue.

From my point of view, the recovery of the system is the first step, you should try to solve the problem.
In case this is not enough, a hardware problem (RAM or HARD disk) is possible, and given that the laptop is still under warranty, I recommend you contact the service to check the unit.

Hope my advice might help you a bit

  • Problems with the Satellite A665-11Z

    Hi all!

I have problems with my laptop, the problem occurs for the most part, any time.
(start cold upwards) on the screen with the AC is plugged and the battery to connect, the laptop stops receiving power and battery light flashes orange. I re plug the AC several times and this until the battery dies

which gives it a while it stops then when I play a game (Team fortress 2 to be exact or ETS2) play for about 15-20 minutes until the same symptoms recur...

I replaced the DC Jack inside the motherboard and the problem persists,

I have baught a new real charger from ebay

I also have repasted CPU incase of heating, but is not the issue, as it happened on a cold start upward on the screen it just completely cut to connect.

I also installed windows 7 ultimate sp1 and update all readers
I just installed windows 8 pro and updates installed etc.

I removed the battery of the laptop to see if that was the problem, but it still happens, but obviously there is no battery in the laptop just turns off completely without blinking light orange on the sign of the battery

The battery is weak it holds for 10 minutes at full load, but this isn't the question why the laptop shuts down with the charger because I removed and still...

anyone has any idea what it is? :(

    Thank you

I agree with you that isn't related to malfunction of the accumulator.
The laptop should work correctly even if the battery isn't inserted.
That's why I think there must be something wrong with the motherboard or the part connected to the mobo

However, its really hard to talk about possible troublemakers, because he could make almost any part that affect the functionality of the laptop.

In the case where the motherboard is affected (a kind of power provide electronic malfunction) repair will be expensive affair because the new motherboard is one of the portable computer expensive parties.

  • Problem starting with the Satellite A500-134

    Hi guys

My laptop is a few years and two months back, the battery has just stopped charging (death), but because of the work schedule, I didn't get time to replace.

In any case, I was working on a report and took a 20-minute break and when I came back the laptop was turned off by itself and that a single led white light for the AC adapter was.

When I pressed the power button the camera and light led light power which ends of the AC adapter / light turned on and at the end a dry stop the laptop with the power and the orange light battery light on. Orange light battery led was off after 6-8 sec.

I tried again and again and the same thing is happening

Can someone please tell me what is the problem that I really need to finish this report and I am lost.

Thank you in advance for all your backup stream.

Try resetting your laptop. Unplug the power plug, remove the battery and press the power button for 20 seconds. After leaving it for a while, only connect the power supply and try to start your laptop.

What happens when you do this?

  • Several problems with the Satellite A100-569

    Hello comrades toshers :)

I had a portable 569 a100 in one last catalog can, last month he had to go off for repairs as the continuous screen empty and had to use the power button to shut it down and reboot again, also questions of excessive paging as well as my computer screen with a kind of mini earthquake... then it is gone and back a week and I these problems are still produce , I understand they have installed a new hard drive and a printed circuit board.

I also noticed that I can't get the toshiba updates more about expansion memory... this laptop is not yet one year old so would appreciate any help this forum may be able to give me.

I would sound Toshiba first thing tomorrow on the laptop being faulty, also the ease of online security does not recognize my serial number? very strange.

    long live the people

    Hello

Obviously your laptop, one of the first models comes with the Vista operating system. To be honest, I agree with you on the RAM. 512 MB is certainly not enough. 1 GB is OK, but for me not enough. I recommend you to upgrade the RAM with 2 x 1 GB module. With 2 GB will be the laptop works well.

The compatible RAM 1 GB module has PA3411U-2M1G part number. Use this number in Google and you'll find enough shops where you can order online.

    Good bye

  • Problems starting with the Satellite C870D - 11 X

    I have a Satellite C870D - 11 X 8.1 Windows running.

The laptop was running progressively slower, but now when I start it sticks on the screen "Toshiba Leading Innovation". Finally, he moves to a blue screen saying that your computer needs repair "a required device cannot be accessed 0000185 0xc error code. I tried a reset by pressing '0' at the beginning, to the top and I see the process of disk recovery hard screen and press enter for Yes and I get the "Toshiba Leading innovation" screen with please wait. After the circular points are displayed for a few moments, then the screen becomes white.

Unfortunately, I don't have a recovery disk to try this option. I'm looking at a hard drive failure? I hear a feint clicking of the HD as if hunting for something.

If I buy a disc is it likely that I will be able to reinstall using this media?
Thanks a lot for your suggestions.

At first, I must say that you have made a mistake after that you bought your laptop you didn t create disk recovery or the so-called recovery media with the original version of Windows 8 that you got with your machine.
I really do not understand why so many people make this mistake and do not create bootable recovery media installation backup image recovery.

In any case, on this path virtual that is not easy to say what the problem is here and, in my opinion, the better you can do is to back up all your important data and install original recovery image. After doing this, you can test the functionality with the factory settings.

A few days ago, I found interesting options paper of recovery limited after update to Win8.1 - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB4403L30001R01.htm
You should try to install the HARD drive recovery original anyway. How is it that you can read on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2A03ES0000R01.htm or http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R02.htm (Win8/8.1).
Order recovery media can be your last step.

Clicking noise could be sign of drive HARD doesn't work well anymore. Is the warranty for your machine still valid?
