Problem of memory of my Satellite P200 1JY

Hello world!

I was offered a P200-1JY but one of the memory location is dead, and 1 GB is low for Windows 7.

My question is: can I put a 4 GB memory module in only 1 location?

Thanks for help me (and sorry for my English ^^)

Hello

I'm not sure if you can use 4 GB in a home, but I'm sure you can use 2 GB into a slot and have 100% working notebook.
Compatible 2 GB of RAM for your laptop is PA3513U-1M2G.

I use Satellite P200D with 2 GB and it works well. I also tested with Win7 and it's really OK.

    Hello
I am owner of a Satellite P200-1JY, my OS is windows 7 and I can't read SDHC cards, but only the SD card.
On the same PC under windows XP, I could read SDHC cards!
So I should have a driver problem?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello

First of all, I checked your manual for Satellite P200 and it supports the following types of SD card:
    -SD up to 2GB
    -SDHC: 4 GB

You use these SD cards or with more capacity?

If you use these supported cards I will try to update the driver of the card reader. You can try the Flash Media Driver for Vista, you can get on the official page of Toshiba.

  • Problems upgrade memory on the Satellite L30-134

I just bought 2 x 1 GB memory for my L30-134 PC4200 and installed that they work fine in the BIOS, see and read as they should do, but when windows starts up it will crash with the two modules are installed, don't ever get to the screen with the loading bar crossing and then I get the blue screen.

I forgot to take note of the error code, I'm afraid... (Silly I know). If I remove one of the modules and module installation original 512 with just 1 the 1 GB ones that it works perfectly. BIOS has been updated to the latest version 3.10, and again, I get the same problem...
because everything looks good go in the BIOS I think that its more likely to be a software problem (windows) any maybe some damage data in the registry or maybe a virus... anyone have any ideas?

In addition, the laptop is actually my step son and he really wants to have the CPU improved Celeron 410 to one that is a little faster. When we look at first in this we was told that several processors are compatible (although not really worth the hassle of installation) they were cel m 450 2 GHz, dual core t2060 and t2080 pent, as well as the core duo t2250, so he bought the t2250 and it wouldn't surprise, or should I say it power on with no display and the stopcock and just epeated cycle. So didn't take is not a genius to establish it was not compat...

I know the t2080 are used in of the L30 and 1.73 533 FSB with 1 MB L2 cache-65nm and do walk. The t2250 is identical apart from the L2 cache is 2 MB and deepening varies from c to MB depends on when you bought it... because oe it already has the CPU it will sell and use the money to purchase one that will work. If anyone has any info that could help to ensure that it doesn't end up going round in circles I would really appreciate it...

Oh and just to make laugh you all he was member of staff line Toshiba tech that had told him that the CPU would not work and that the L30 managed to take 2 x 1 GB memory and not once mentioned that there may be problems with two updates...
Issues such as neither soddin work... lmao

    Are you sure;?  :|

  • Problems of memory on the Satellite L30-101

I have a toshiba satellite l30-101 laptop and wanted to upgrade the RAM, so I bought 2 x 1 GB sticks to put in it.
Now, I could not find all those at 533 mhz so I bought 2 667 mhz after a talk to a technical guy who said if I had 2 the same speed it will work very well.

Only this isn't at all that I can put a stick and it works very well with the 533 mhz.
The one I have in if I try to put the two sticks in it comes up with errors of memory and I get the bsod that restarts my computer and did not get my games or other programs.
Is anyway to make sure I can have both new sticks in that I really need RAM and do not want to buy different ones.
I mean if I can get another one we should probably work well work?

Please help im crazy trying to solve this shit

    Hello

I think that the speed of the memory has nothing to do with the BSOD!
In my opinion the BSOD appears due to the failure of memory!

In addition the L30-101 supports only the FSB 533 Mhz. In this case you will not be able to run the 667 Mhz modules of memory at full speed.
The modules will run at 533 Mhz only!

So in my opinion, you must replace the defective module with one that works very well!

    Best regards

  • Problem USB 2.0 on Satellite P200-1JR

I bought my laptop about a month ago, and yesterday I tried to use my flash drive.
After noticing that he took too long to transfer data, I checked the usb ports in Device Manager.
It shows that I have five simple USB and two USB 2.0 host controllers.
Changing the display 'view of the connections' I realized that my 6 USB ports share three of five simple USB controllers.

The laptop is supposed to offer 6-Port USB2.0... well, it doesn't.
(Also under Vista 32-bit, with 3 GB of Ram)

The service guy told me to format, but this does not solve anything.
    I also got BIOS 2.30...

have you tried to reinstall the chipset drivers? You may need to check www.intel.com and download the latest chipset drivers for your machine.

Another suggestion is to check that the sites of microsoft support for USB problems since Vista is known to work intestinal and I guess that there must be something on USB to find...

    Welcome them

  • Upgrade memory issues with Satellite P200 - 10 c

I have upgraded to 4 GB as from Toshiba Web site says it supports 4GB. In the bios, I only see 3070 MB and Windows 7 64 - bit says (3.00 GB RAM) 4.00 GB RAM usable.

    Why?
In Task manager is also said 3070MB of memory total.

    Hello

4 GB of RAM should be possible.
The laptop seems to support the Mobile Intel® 945 PM Express Chipset and according to the Intel Ark page, 4 GB of RAM are supported by 945 PM
    http://Ark.Intel.com/products/chipsets/22817

I recommend to check the advanced startup options:
    1. Click Start, in the search bar type msconfig and press to enter.
    2. System Configuration window appears on the screen.
    3. click on the tab named "boot".
    4. click on "Advanced Options" and uncheck the box 'memory Maximum.
    5. now restart again and check the available memory.

  • Problem with camera integrated on Satellite P200-1BK

    Hello

If all those who have this same problem and a solution would help me, it would be much appreciated.
I had the laptop for 8 months and have not really used the web cam until recently. The problem is now, it was working fine until I was in the middle of a video call and the camera screen turned all green.

Where there are distortions in the picture lines and green covering the picture.
I have tried reinstalling the drivers for the webcam but have not been effective.
If someone could help me it would be much appreciated.

You use the Vista operating system?
If Yes please check if all Vista updates are installed. I mean especially the Vista SP1.

I see that you have updated the software of webcam, but please do this again after Vista update.
Please don t forget to clean the operating system once the old webcam software has been removed using a software program such as CCLeaner.

I put t know what program did you use to video conferencing, but it would be also a good idea to check if there are some updates because this issue could also be linked to this program too.

  • Problem upgrade memory on the Satellite L30 - 11 d

    Hi all

I'm trying to update the memory from 512 MB to 2 GB.

    I have used Crucial memory Tester and ordered memory: 2 X 1 GB DDR2 667 CL5
I can use either chip in a memory slot, but not the two chips at the same time

    I've updated the BIOS

    Any ideas?

    Cheers, rofleuk

Maybe you should use compatible DDR2 533 MHz modules. RAMs compatible for this models are 1 GB with PA3411U-1M1G part number.

  • Audio problems with Satellite P200-1BA

... Hi, first, my English is bad... :D

    I have a problem - I bought the Toshiba Satellite P200-1BA
After I bought the laptop, I reinstalled the operating system (recovery DVD 1 time)-j' have audio, but I m missing the settings for the subwoofer + virtual surround sound + equalizer! ...
Now I m help legal windows Vista Ultimate Edition, installed all the drivers + utility for my laptop, the Toshiba site, but I can't yet find the settings...

Do I need an additional program for the improvement of the sound, or I need only the audio driver?
Once more, I can't speak English, but I hope, someone of you can understand me and can help me - thanks in advance!... ;-)

Do I have to use my subwoofer bass, virtual sound + Equalizer again?

As far as I know Toshiba doesn't offer a special software for that. All available parameters, you can find in the Realtek HD Audio Manager in the control panel.
Each player has own EQ options and when you listen to music with a few players check this option in the drive itself.

    That's all.

  • Satellite P200 - option SATA missing after upgrading the BIOS

so please what can I do to switch to ahci or ide mode, can I downgrade the bios version

    So thank you we

    Hello

Must add driver SATA while installing Windows.
During the installation process you will be asked to add the driver (F6 key)
Then you could add the connected USB floppy disk driver.

  • Graphic problem on Satellite P200-13Z

    Hello

Satellite P200-13z running 32-bit vista - intel graphics software displays + does not work because of insufficient resources + other checks indicate that the chip has no allocated memory.
Machine runs Ok'ish on the LCD screen in mode VGA base but of course, for many programs, it is no good.

Version 1.7, nothing in there to allocate memory for the graphics chip - as in other systems with built-in BIOS system memory for graphics.

System has 1 GB of ram - updated 2GB with no difference.

When I bought the laptop H/d has been deleted for reasons of safety, replaced by the new HD & reinstalled vista from a recovery P200D disk then download specific files for this machine from the Download Center, am I missing a file important?

How do I allocate memory of the chip or do I have a defective chip / / cpu / / mb or other?

You can not install image of P200D on P200. Both models have completely different hardware platforms. Images of recovery are individual and model specific images.
If you want to play a little bit and test if you get it working it's Ok, but you also expect that some problems will occur.
All with images is not so simply as you think.
Toshiba has designed images for the use of certain models only. It will be too easy to buy a laptop and use some images on different specifications.
I mean you pay a license and install on 10 laptops. You understand what I mean?

If you do not have original disk recovery facilities use bare BONES Setup with disk Microsoft facilities and subsequently install all necessary drivers, tools and utilities download page following the link you have posted here. You will see that everything will work well.

  • Satellite P200 - Win 7 x 64 install memory 4 GB (3 GB usable)

    Hello

I update my Satellite P200 (PSPBGA-01W015) for Windows 7 x 64 but I had problem with memory, Windows said: installed memory 4 GB (3 GB usable).

In the resource material say monitor reserved 1026MB

When I check the properties of the graphics card, it is said: NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 with dedicated 256MB of system memory 1279 MB memory shared, 1535 MB total graphics memory.

I guess that the graphics card occupies only 1 GB of memory but it not there no option anywhere that I can adjust this shared memory (both in the configuration of the Bios and Windows).

The only version of Bios I can find on the site of Toshiba Australia support for my model is "BIOS Version/Date TOSHIBA V1.70, 21/08/2007' which is in fact only supported Windows Vista.

Not sure if I can find the similar to the Web from Toshiba Europe site Bios version? The last time when I upgraded my computer to Windows 7, support staff advised me to site of Europe as well, but the model similar to the differently named Euro market. Now I don't remember that match model Europe with my laptop model Australia.

It seems the support Toshiba Australia not always been well updated Web site. :(

Thanks a lot if someone have a solution for this. Would be appreciated.

    See you soon
    Anthony

    > I guess that the graphics card occupies only 1 GB of memory but it not there no option anywhere that I can adjust this shared memory (both in the configuration of the Bios and Windows).

You are right. The part of the main memory is used by the graphics card, but you can not affect the part of the memory that this is manually controlled by the graphics driver.
If the application being game needs a more graphics memory, the driver assigns this.

  • HARD drive and memory upgrade on the Satellite P200 - 17 c

    Hello

I own Satellite P200 17 c. My current memory is DDR2 PC2-5300 2 GB. I would like to upgrade to DDR2 PC2 - 6400 4 GB of ram. I can do and it's going to be some speed improvements, if I update to PC2-6400 PC2-5300 instead?

I have 2 hard drives on my P200 17 c. 2 x 100 GB. I want to upgrade one of these two HD ranging from 100 GB to 320 GB 5400 RPM. can I do this? and it'll be a difference if I update with HD who has 7200 RPM?

    Thank you

First of all: your machine is able to handle a maximum capacity of 4 GB RAM, but please be aware that you won´t be able to use all of the 4 GB due to some limitations of the chipset that are explained in the following article: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB82022E0000R01.htm

Regarding the speed of module: chipset specifications are defined for PC5300, so it will not improve your speed when you install faster modules.

If you want to upgrade your hard drive then do as you like, because it shouldn´t be any restrictions, you can install a drive with 7200 RPM with a slower.

The only difference will be that the faster drive faster. The performance of the entire system would increase only when you´re install your operating system on the disk more fast (which is the recommendation of my side :))
