  Go to Administration > Dimensions > select a Dimension > select the Member you want to assign filters acccess to:-assign access
  Repeat the process for all the access permissions.

  Refresh planning, including security filters

• Accounts for plan 1 dense and sparse for plan 2 to a Hyperion Planning application

  I have two cubes in Hyperion Planning Application only, I wish that both have a Dense accounts cubes and for the second sparse accounts.
  
  The cube that I have held with sparse accounts is mainly because I like the accounts of 600 to 800 and I need to have several attributes (with Dimensions of attributes to accounts).
  
  As far as I know the Dimension type of "Accounts" allow attributes dimensions when is sparse, but in Hyperion planning if the second cube accounts is Dense it me does not have this feature. Anyone know if this is an expected behavior? A bug? Or my mistake?

  I exported all the artifacts of Hyperion (planning, Essbase, HFM, SSP) Hyperion 11.1.2.0 and try to import the same in Hyperion 11.1.2.4. I finished the import of LCM of artifacts of Shared Services, but when I'm working with import of LCM of planning of the artifacts in the face of a mistake as follows,

  For applications in non-unicode mode, type script and plan worksheet names should be maximum 8 characters. But your artifact (FSTSOCT13) is to have 9 characters. Test by renaming the name of the script.

  And come to the rejected members, you are facing this problem only with the members of the entity? You are able to import other members of the standard dimension?

  Have you changed the destination application name or database name?

  We try to decide whether to include DRM in our solution or not, and I'm new to this module.

  My question is:

  1. If I use the classic Hyperion application, do I need an ODI to integrate metadata between Application Hyperion and the DRM?
  2. What happens if I am on application of EPMA, what a way to integrate metadata between DRM and enforcement?

  -It depends if you want to use ODI or not, planning utility gives OultineLoad, you must generate an export of DRM in the required format and load it to the planning application. But ODI can integrate other technologies, which can pop - in the future to come. Also better control the flow of data with debugging.

  You can integrate DRM with EPMA and allows to load the DRM metadata for library EPMA which will flow more in the planning.

• Financial reporting for Hyperion Planning Application error

  I get this error when you try to run a HFR report in the workspace, which connects to a planning application:
  
  Query execution error: error: internal error Essbase JAPI: [cannot run the report. [Essbase Error (1012709): virtual time series, the last period of time set [period] is not a time dimension member level 0]
  
  My question is: where I put the last time period in the planning application?
  
  I googled like crazy, but I can't seem to find anything like that, but the period start and end parameters. When I go in the settings of SDRS to the planning application, there is no option to set the 'last period of time."

  Seems that you won't put perspective preview so you can not choose a period, in the workspace, go to file > Preferences > Financial Reporting, set an excerpt to it.

• Hyperion Planning Application Properties

  I have a few reports of EN that go against the Connection(I cannot change it to Essbase as it has to retreive text data also) planning.

  For entity nodes bit bulky, it reached the threshold for the application that is ERROR_THRESHOLD_NUM_OF_CELLS = 400000.

  The report retrieves 4230 lines * columns (791010) 187. It applied then, deletion which should give only 1300 lines * 70 columns.

  My questions:

  Is there a maximum value for ERROR_THRESHOLD_NUM_OF_CELLS?

  If we increase the value for this parameter, it will negatively affect somewhere else?

  It is not really a max parameter, but the property is there to stop the main forms / reports running which might eventually cause performance issues for example analysis adhoc.

• Clone Hyperion planning and production to create the instance of development

  We have recently upgraded to 11.1.1.1, and currently, we do not have a test instance. We want to create a test instance. To create an instance of the application of the oracle bs, clone us the app and create a new instance. However when we try to do the same with the planning application, our dev instance is always pointing to the instance of prod. How can we get the dev instance to point to the dev database. Our configuration is essbase on linux and other applications are based on windows.
  Pointers are greatly appreciated.

  I did not fully understand what you have done, say you that you have installed v11 on test machines and copied on patterns?

  If you cloned just the planning system database, then all data sources will point to the location of origin and will need to reconfigure, it's that if it allows you to reconfigure the data sources, I don't know how you have configured.

  The best option with planning is to create an empty application on the target computer, and then migrate the schema.

• Hyperion Planning 9.3.1 to 11.1.2.2 applications Migration

  We need to migrate a Hyperion Planning 9.3.1 to a 'classic' Hyperion Planning 11.1.2.2 application application. Why classic? Because we don't see the need to have an application of EPMA.
  
  We are not quite sure of the procedure. Can you please help me check the steps?
  
  1 save the relational tables of demand in the 9.3.1
  2 backup essbase objects (rul, otl, CSC, rep)
  3. install EPMA 11.1.2.2 in a new server, including a new instance of sql server.
  4. create a new application database name and connection and apply a 'create', ' create a new request of planning on version 11 ensure that the admin is the same name as your old 9.3 planning app.
  If the admin of your 9.3 planning takes a native user and not the system default hyperion (account = admin) admin then
  'Go into the database for the planning tables app and HSP_USERS table, store the value of the user 50001 SID' JohnGoodwin:
  Re: upgrade planning 9.3.1 to 11.3
  
  5. stop services to stop the application.
  6 restore all relational tables of the 9.3.1 application (step 1) in the application only (step 5).
  7. change in the application of database XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
  8. start services, applies to create in the application.
  9. copy of objects (step 2) except otl.
  10. export the data of the 9.3.1 and import data from 11.1.2.2 application.
  
  So I guess this we will have a new Hyperion Planning application in 11.1.2.2 with contour, web forms, to-do lists, etc.
  Other questions:
  • Is it feasible? Or I need to first import a 11.1.1.3 planning application instance? And then from there move to a 11.1.2.2 instance?
  How can • what business rules, I import them at calc Manager, which is simple operations?
  • What security? What do I need to create security groups and users to the SSP before step 6.
  • All of the warnings?

• Migration Planning Application 11.1.2.1 to 11.1.2.2

  I'm trying to migrate a version 11.1.2.1 Hyperion Planning application version 11.1.2.2. Is it possible that I can use LCM? I tried to export the application to version 11.1.2.1 and its import in 11.1.2.2 but all forms are saved as invalid.
  
  The application also uses business rules and LCM gave the following errors:
  
  Error in migration artifact, "/ Global artifacts/Business rules / Global Variables/XXXXX".
  Cannot process the artifact (XXXXXX). Type of artifact not taken in charge (Global Variable).
  
  Given that Calc Manager is the only tool of support would this cause the problem with the migration process? If so, how can I migrate the application successfully.
  
  I saw the option upgrade in the Administration of planning, but how is application to the situation.

  If you create an empty application, then stop planning and migrate the 11.1.2.1 relational database planning on top, update the SID if it isn't the user admin by default and different between the versions, start planning, you should then be able to upgrade by using the wizard.
  It was just a quick overview, because the process is roughly the same as previous versions and it was taken over several times here.

• Unable to copy link option hyperion planning in IE 11

  We are currently in Hyperion planning 11.1.2.4.003 version.

  When we open Hyperion planning application in IE 9, we are able to see the option copy the link in the tools, but when we opened the same application in IE 11 us is not able to copy the link, we are witnessing only option from the custom links.

  We were able to replicate - a bug was filed: Bug 22757371 - COPY LINK NOT VISIBLE IN IE 11 11.1.2.4.003.
